Fixing Sound

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions in regards to mixing sound. First, I have a string quartet that was recorded in a wooden room. Here's the details.
First
1. We imported the footage using mini out and mini in through a tape deck
2. Then imported the audio via QUICKTIME.
The problem with this is we have a Constant hiss in the track and we want to make it sound like it was recorded outside in a field. THANKS
Erv

Throw in into STP and see what you can do w/ it. Also check out Sound Soap for cleaning up audio files.

  • HOW DO I FIX SOUND PROBLEMS ON MY IPOD  TOUCH?

How do i fix sound problems on my ipod touch?

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

  • How to fix sound distortion on an iPod?

I have a 4th generation iPod shuffle. When i use ear buds with it, the sound will be fine at first, but after a few days the sound will start to get distorted. If I mess with the ear buds for a little I can fix the sound for a few seconds. After a while the ear buds will stop working with the iPod all together. If I buy a new pair of ear buds the whole thing starts all over again. The ear buds work fine on my PC regardless of how well they work on my iPod and when I restore my iPod it's work fine for few minutes. Any suggestions?

Per this previous discussion you can't.

  • Load default configuration in BIOS to fix sound, caused another problem

    Hey !
I have had problem to get sound in my T61, and used Lenovo support, Troubleshooting, to fix it.
I did as it told in Lenovo Support.
In BIOS Setup utility menu setup I pressed F9.
Then I selected YES to load the default configuration.
After that I pressed F10 key and YES to save the configuration.
But after that when I start the computer it says that a failur has occured, and windows has shot down to avoid problems with the computer.
Is there any way of going back in the BIOS setup, so I should get it work again ?
    Thanks in advance/ Kurt

  • How do i fix sound font fail for audigy 2

all of the suddon my sound stopped working and my diagnostics say sound font fail. how do i fix this problem?

I had the exact same problem updating the drivers for my Audigy 2 Platinum EX, but I think I managed to solve the problem. This was quite awhile ago, but I think I remember how I got it to work.
First of all, which update did you download? The "Digital Rights Management" driver update was the one giving me that problem, and this was after installing the main drivers and programs from my Audigy 2 CD. But, I think the reason why it gives this message is because you need to install one of the other driver updates first, then install this DRM update. Look under the driver details and it says the following:
    "<EM>Requirements</EM>:
Microsoft? Windows? XP Service Pack 2 or Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 </LI>
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 or Audigy 2 ZS series internal audio device </LI>
<EM>EAX 4.0 ADVANCED HD Driver Patch Update for Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS (released on 29 March, 2004) installed, or Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS Driver Update (released on 29 July, 2004) installed</EM>."</LI>
Strangely enough, it appears this update requires you install an older driver update first (EAX4DRV_AUDIGY2__84_50.exe) then afterwards try running the Digital Rights Management update.
I think this is right, but I'm not 00% sure.

  • New iPod Software Fixes Sound Output Bug?

I have speakers and an FM transmitter for my iPods that connect via the dock port. My nano frequently refuses to output sound and I have to do a reset each time I plug it in. I've heard that its a common bug and that new accessories will not have problems with nanos.
I've down some limited testing and it seems that this current update fixes this bug. Has anyone else noticed this?

I hope you are right because I have been experiencing this same issue with my belkin auto adapter (F8V7058-APL-BLK). I have to manually reset the ipod nearly every time I plug it in. But if it has fixed the issue then it has brought up a new bug listed in this thread:

  • Fix sound issues?

I recently purchased the iPhone 4. The sounds were all working perfectly fine last night and earlier today. But,now, all of the sounds (ringtones, music, new texts, etc.) only work when earphones are plugged into the phone. None of my settings haven been changed; i made sure nothing was on silent and that the volume
Is on maximum. Please help! Thank you.

I had the same issue yesterday. When I was typing in my passcode there was no sound and no unlock sound (but there would be a lock sound when I pressed the sleep/wake button. The temporary fix for me was to power cycle the phone.

  • Fixing Sound Issues

Well, I've had my iPod 5G for about a year, and just recently the sound in my right headphone stopped working.
But it's not the headphones -- any headphones I plug in, the right speaker doesn't work.
So, I figured out that with the iPod, in order to get any sound out of the right speaker, I have to either push or pull on the plug of the headphones.
I obviously can't do this while I listen to music.
I don't have a warranty, so I was wondering if there is some way I could fix this?
Some way I could open my iPod up and maybe reposition the input or replace it with another or... something.
    Anyone have any advice?
    Thanks =]

You can buy a replacement ipod headphone jack from a number of online places. Many of them will even do the change for you (for a price of course) and turn the iPod around in a day back to you.
Try an Internet search for "ipod repair" and you will find many places, most of which can fix or sell parts for bad headphone jacks.

  • How do I fix sound not importing properly from a Fuji video capture (MPEG, 48000 compressed) on Premier Elements 11 (just imports chopped noise)?

Can anyone help?  When I add .Mov MPEG video file captured with a Fuji camera (1920x1080 image, 29.97 frame rate, 48000Hz stereo compressed sound), although the video is smooth/good, the sound gets added but its just a clipped noise rather than the actual sound track.  The video & sound play fine on all other software on my PC, even if just play the file using Adobe Organizer, BUT Premier will not import it correctly....help...

    Please give us more information.
What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running on? When you view and listen to the playback of the Timeline video in the Edit area monitor, are you working with the rendered or unrendered Timeline?
What is the model/settings of the Fuji camera that recording the video? The settings seem to be for 1080 but is that 1080i or 1080p?
Are you saying that your video has a .mov file extension? What is the significance of MPEG video - I am thinking in terms of video compression? AVCHD, H.264, MotionJPEG, or other for video compression?
What are you or the project setting as the project preset to match the properties of the source video?
(See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio (even if they look grayed out.)
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer? If you go into Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime, do you see all the QuickTime presets? Please explore Edit Menu/Preferences/Audio Hardware ASIO settings Input as well as Output.
We will be watching for your progress.

  • How to fix sound cracking in my notebook ?

Product name and number:- HP Pavilion dm4-1162us
    OS:- Windows 7 64-bit
Installed new audio drivers, but still facing sound cracking problem in my PC.

I would check to see if you have a BIOS update available for install.  Then I would perform a hard reset and test it.  Try plugging headphones in and see if they made the cracking sound.  If not, it could simply be a hardware problem with the speakers or speaker wiring.
    To Perform A Hard Reset
Shut down the computer by going to the Start menu and selecting shut down. (If you have no display, hold the power button down for  5 seconds); (if the computer doesn't power on, move to the next step)
Disconnect the AC Adapter from the notebook.
Remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook.  There will be a switch/button to eject the battery.
Wait at least 1 minute with all power sources disconnected.
Re-insert the battery and reconnect the AC Adapter and then attempt to power on the notebook.

  • Fixed sound issues under wine, but would like to know how

I managed to get sound working under wine. I have no idea how, but I did. Ill explain and see if anyone can make sense of it.
So I initially set up kmix to where my primary device was my soundblaster card. I would continuously get errors like "creative blah did not work, switching to 'HD audio generic'.
I would not get system notification sounds but things like youtube and movies would. I had no luck with wine. I then started experimenting with the preferred devices and set the generic one to primary. The sound would work, but my problem was reversed. I would get notification sounds but no youtube or media audio. I then tried moving "default" up to preferred, only to get the same result. Neither gave me any sound in games under wine --not to mention the horrible system hangups when using "HD audio generic" and "default"
So I decided I prefer media audio over notification audio and went back to my original configuration. The result was that I still got system notifications but no media audio. At this point, I became very confused and started experimenting with changing the sound profiles. Any sort of chage at all would create a "dummy device" as playback out of my creative card. About 15 reboots later and luck? maybe, I got it to at least give me notification audio. I was stumped. I also noticed that the hangups were returning.
After exhausting all the options, I was like "oh well better move the HD audio Generic back up" and see what happens. Reboot. Somehow, I got media audio AND wine sound worked as well as the system hangups stopping.
I have no idea. Anyone have a clue?
Im glad its working, but im not going actually going to learn anything unless i figure out what happened.
    Thanks in advance.

Update: Ive found at least a modicum of consistency here. If I try to change anything in the preferences at all once I get wine audio working, it will stop working.
Thus far, here are my options..I can have
System Notification audio working and nothing else
System notification audio and media audio working, but no wine
Media Audio and Wine Audio working, but no system notification audio
    But not all three
If I change one preference, wine audio on its own will stop working, or wine audio AND media audio will quit working.
If I change it back to the settings which allow wine audio and media audio to work, it usually will not. It will however work, consistently after enough reboots...2-10.
    Any ideas?

  • Help push Apple to fix sound problems on FaceTime

There are a lot of threads posted regarding sound cutting out on one side of the FaceTime chats.  It is unclear whether or not Apple reviews these threads, and in my experience Apple Support says there is no known problem with the sound.
So we might get better results by posting this problem multiple times to Apple Support Feedback.  Go to:
    www.apple.com/feedback
Log on - I did it through iMac but I suppose we can all post the problem on OS X or iPad or whatever as well, the more the better.
Then explain what the problem is.
I also contacted Support by phone (actually I set up a call back and they called me almost exactly when promised) and explained the issue.
    Good luck everyone.

How is your iPod configured to sync content from your iTunes library? Any error messages during the sync process?
You may want to reset warnings on the device by right->clicking on it under Devices and choosing Reset Warnings.  Then resync the iPod to see if any alerts appear.
Is this the same computer you normally sync the Nano with?
