FLA - MP4

Why not have the Adobe Flash CS5 product directly generate mp4 and  other formats in addition to SWF?
From my  chair (as an Adobe Flash CS5 user) it  would be a great help.
Going about  using other additional  software has direct effect on a software budget.
Costs extra  manhours to gather information of how it is done.
Costs extra  manhours/user time to process.
Perhaps even increases the   likelihood for errors and noise in re-processing already processed  files  (SWF->{F4V,MOV,MP4...}) (F4V->{MP4,MOV...},)  relative to  the original source FLA file?
Kind regards,
Stephan

No sorry for the confusion..... just trying to raise a similar question to yours...intending to add additional exposure to the demand for extra output features from Adobe Flash CS5. Am a bit frustrated with this lack of output features, if the Adobe Flash software package would take ownership of the process of making eg mp4 files would be a great improvement in many ways.
Kind regards
Stephan

Can I import an MP4 or FLV to Flash and make it an editable .fla file?

    Thanks for helping me.
It's a vector animation that was made in flash and exported into a swf I believe and then posted on a website and on youtube. I have the mp4 ad the flv that I have converted from the online file using an online tool. I would like to use it as a base for my own video and just switch out some of the frames and characters/backgrounds - is that possible in Premier?

  • Converting .fla to .mov to .mp4 for imbedding in Powerpoint

    Hello,
I've been running into issues with the compression of my flash animations when imbedding them into powerpoint. The .mov files provide sharp playback, but after they are converted to mp4, the resolution drops. I need mp4 files so that the movies are compatible with both Mac and PC versions of powerpoint. I have changed the settings to increase the frames per second, and have the highest qualities selected when converting from .mov to .mp4 without luck.
Does anyone have any advice for this issue? Is there a better way to convert .fla to .mp4 for PC Powerpoint compatibility?
    Thanks!

I happily landed on this question-item in my quest for for ways to  generate MP4 from a FLA files...but now that I am here....:
I agree. I think this is a relevant question.

  • Using .mov and mp4 in Dreamweaver.

I know that I can use .Fla for movies or animations in Dreamweaver but it has been noted to me that Mac Ipads and others do not recognize Flash.  Is it possible to use .mov or mp4 in dreamweaver and if so how?   My primary interest in using those formats is to set up photo slide shows.  I am currently using the Adobe creative Suite  5.5 master collection.  Any info would be appreciated.

thanks. i did that and found the files/foders that i mentioned above
i have 6 configuration folders, i guess the one titled Configuration is the latest
    in it i see
FileCache.dat but do not see WinFileCache-********.dat
i did open filecache.dat in notepad and i saw chinese characters
    should i delete that file?

  • Importing mp4 into Flash 8, converting to FLV

I just finished taking a Flash Video class where I understood
I could import an MP4 and convert in to an FLV using encoding tools
that come with Flash Professional 8. However, I opened a new FLA
just now and tried to import an MP4 (File -> Import Video),
Flash would not recognize the sample MP4 I have sitting on my
    desktop.
I downloaded a demo copy of On2 FlixPro and it did recognize
the MP4, is converting it to an FLV as I write this.
Did I misunderstand about importing MP4s into Flash 8
Professional? Is it in fact not possible. Or might there have been
something I didn't do or didn't do correctly before importing? If
so, what might it have been?
    Thanks in advance.

The MP4 file extension does not appear in the filetype
    filter of the
Import dialog, but if you select "All Files (*.*)," that
    should work. I've
imported MP4s (they're MPGs, after all), but the extension
    doesn't appear
under the "All Video Formats" choice. (I'm hoping this is
    what you mean by
    "would not recognize," anyway.)

  • Export to MP4 out of Flash

    Hi,
The fact that this hasn't been implemented has somewhat shocked me but with all the MP4 usage out there (H.264 encoding) for iOS and web - with great compression capabilities, I'm surprised there isn't a native way to export directly to MP4 out of Flash. It really increases production time and increases hours when using the After Effects or exporting an MOV/AVI/FLV/FLA and using the adobe media encoder methods. Is there a way to streamline this so it will just export as it would any other video (Using the Adobe Media Encoder). I did see that the CC version is adding a feature that may do the trick if you can in fact export to the encoder and queue a series of MP4 conversions. That would be a huge help if that's the case, but is that how it will work? Please advise, since I still use Flash for a great deal of animation and batching multiple Flash files would save a ton of time (and lessen errors).
    Thanks in advance for reading,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
I was having the same trouble, and got to the point where I just decided to type in ".mp4" over ".mov" in the export video section in Adobe Flash CC. Lo and behold it worked! Media encoder automatically opened and took care of it!
    Good luck!

  • Enquiries on whether fla can be linked to another fla, swf to flv or other video format and buttons to an animation

    I have 3 enquiries.
    1) How do I embed another fla within fla.
For example, I am working on a fla, is it possible to create
a link to another fla via a button?
    2) How do i convert a swf file into a flv file or any other
video format like avi, mp4, etc?
I am asking this because I realized when I try to import a
swf into my fla file, I could only bundle it for mobile. Neither
the progressive nor the streaming nor the embeding options could be
    checked.
    3) After adding tweening motion to an animation, is it
possible to add buttons to play/pause? Do I have to write a script
to enable the buttons to work?
    I tried adding buttons (Windows>components>video),
however, the buttons were not functioning like the case when I
imported a video. I think it's because adding tweening to an
animation doesn't really dismiss it as a video file.
I would greatly appreaciate if anyone could post a solution
    to my problems.
    Thanks.

I am not so sure that this is a bug, and I have not been able to reproduce this behavior that you are describing.
But you can lock it from editing by right-clicking on the graph and go to Properties>>Appearance>>Enabled State --> Disabled
Also, word of advice for the future: You will get more replies from the community with shorter posts and keeping it to one question per post. Summarize what the issue is, and put the detailed documentation and instructions to reproduce in the actual VI.

  • FLA to FLV, is it possible

This is going to sound very naive but I want to attach a
player (play, pause, rewind, etc) to my animation. I understand it
does it automatically if it is a .flv file. I downloaded a trial
version of Flash CS3 thinking I could convert my .fla file to .flv
but that doesn't appear to be the case. So am I pursuing the wrong
course, can an .fla file be exported to a .flv file? My real
problem is for a WBT, I want consistency for pages that just have
narration and pages that have animation. I want the same controls
on each page. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

    A fix!
QuickTime 7.2 requires your source video to be encoded at
    44.100 kHz on the Macintosh.
Step 1: I saved my movie from the original .dv file to .mov
to de-interlace the movie in QuickTime Pro.
Step 2: I saved my movie from .mov to .mp4 choosing the
44.100 kHz sound setting using QuickTime Pro.
Step 3: I saved my .mp4 movie to .flv to use in Flash from
    QuickTime Pro.
My video plays all the way through now. :)

  • Converting MP4 to FLV

    Hi,
I posted this in the Flash Encoder forum a few days ago, but
haven't gotten any responses. So I'm hoping someone here might
    know.
I'm trying to take a MP4 file, and convert it to a .flv to
    use on our Intranet.
When I open Flash Encoder, I select the .MP4 and settings in
    Encoder are
    Flash 8 Medium Quality (400kbs)
It goes through the process of converting the file, and saves
    a .flv.
but when I try and view the .flv I can double click on it and
it opens Flash Player 9 and I get nothing but a white screen. All
the controls in the control menu are shaded out.
If I try and insert the file into a page within dreamweaver
and upload everything to the server, I still get nothing.
So it seems the conversion from MP4 to .flv is not working
    correctly.
Before I encode it, if I go into the settings area of Flash
Encoder, and move the timeline I can see the frames of the video.
So I'm assuming the MP4 is not the problem.
Is there something else I need to do?
    Thanks.

Hmmm...so you encode the mp4 and it generates an flv, right?
And then in Flash (I'm just thinking out loud here) you create a
new fla, import -> video and choose the flv and it walks you
through the process where you select 'streaming from server' and
the player skin, etc. and then it places the flv instance on stage
    in the fla.
Then you can fiddle with the stage dimensions, publish it,
and once you upload the flv, the swf with the flv as a parameter,
the swf for the player skin, the .js file and the html file to the
server you should be able to play the video.
If you've done all that, I guess the next question would be
whether you've tried it with another format, like an .avi or
    something else.

  • Export from FLA or SWF into WMV

    Hi,
I have a CS3 flash .fla animation and I need to convert it into WMV or MP4 to use in Camtasia Studio
Is there any way of doing that in CS3?
I tried looking for downloads on the web, so far I have found lots of software that claims to be "free" but sticks a watermark until you pay

I managed by exporting as AVI from Flash (File > Export), then importing into Camtasia
I had doubts about this as AVI often makes huge files (with some conversion tools), and/or poor quality
But Flash's AVI is OK, and I believe Camtasia reduces it as it turns it into SWF

  • Converting MP4 to FLV - Getting White Screen

I was sent an MP4 video that I have to convert to a Flash video.
The video keeps encoding with audio, but no picture. All I get is a white screen.
I have encoded Flash videos before and have not had this problem.
What do I do from here? Thanks in advance...
I read on one board that I should change the extension from MP4 to MPG, but that didn't help.

Hmmm...so you encode the mp4 and it generates an flv, right?

  • How to play red5 video conference fla

    Hi
Does anybody guide me how to play and view the sample videoconference .fla that is downloaded from red5 please.
    Thanks
    Srinivas

Since the video is bundled, I'd recommend you make usage of the GPU accelerated StageVideo class:
    StageVideo - Adobe ActionScript® 3 (AS3 ) API Reference
On that page you will find several tutorial and code links (under the description) on how to use it, for example:
Adobe Flash Platform * Using the StageVideo APIs
Getting started with stage video | Adobe Developer Connection
The basics about it is if you have ever created a video player using NetStream and NetConnection then you already know how to use it. After the event fires indicating if StageVideo is available you can make use of it or determine if you need a fallback (regular Video with software rendering).
Unlike just using the FLVPlayback component, you must create and attach your own video controls. Again if you've ever made a custom player with NC/NS classes above then chances are you've made custom controls. Just whichever buttons you desire for your functionality (play/pause, seek, volume, etc).
It's worth repeating, I'm only recommending this because I choose this method with bundled videos. If you need to stream, NetStream will not give you the information you need for buffering/seeking. In that scenario I resort to using StageWebView on iOS which embeds a native HTML5 MP4 playback control. I actually start receiving the stream to get the metadata (video size) and generate a HTML page with a <video> tag that makes the video an appropriate size. Video in StageWebView does not work well (especially Flash video) on Android prior to KitKat so I avoid that and use StageVideo, which works great.

  • Previewing/Playing HD SHQ MP4 video in Timeline is choppy and static.

Previewing and playing back my HD SHQ MP4 video from my Sony Xacti HD video camera in the Timeline is choppy. I have to export to QT in order for me to see the video smoothly.
I have crammed the Power Mac full of RAM (8GB) and have four external FW800 drives, and have set all the system settings to playback at full quality, but it still is choppy. Is there anything I can do? Or is this HD video just too much for even this machine?
    Thanks for any help.

It doesn't matter how fast your hardware configuration is.
mp4/h.264 is not an editing codec, but a delivery codec.
Look at your easy set ups. There are none for mp4/h.264.
Both formats are computational intensive and to decode them for editing is nearly impossible.
convert to DVCProHD or pro res or AIC. Those are editing formats.

  • Is there a way to create a file other than mp4 with iMovie under Maverick

Since the installation of the last version of iMoviei I noticed that the creation of a sharing file is only in mp4 type. Is there a way to create, for ex a mov file??
    Thanks for reply

    It doesn't seem like it.
If you share to iTunes you get an .m4v. Maybe you can open this in Quicktime and convert to .mov.
