Flash 10 freezing in mid load certain sites Win XP Pro AOL

All of a suddent, yesterday, I went to the Dove site (the soap company, and it hung. No matter how many times I tried, it would not open. Hung in loading. Today, I went to Midway (Warner Brother gmaes), and the ame thing happen. Hung at 68%. I tried reinstalling my Flash 10. I am not very tech savvy, and don't have tons of time for this. I can't imagine why all of a sudden this is happening. Can anyone help on a plain English basis? Thanks!

Hi , have you confirmed if you had a successful Install of FP 10.0.45.2? Check here at the Adobe test site:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about
Also, check your add ons for Shockwave Flash Object...ActiveX Control....Flash10e.ocx vs 10.0.45.2 and make sure it is
Enabled.
You could also check your Flash folder C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash and post back the files that are there.
Before you installed the latest FP, did you use the Adobe Uninstaller here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html  And most importantly did you follow the instructions, especially the last NOTE?
And finally, did you remember to reboot after the Uninstall and after the Install?
Thanks,

  • Problems with loading certain sites

    Hello there,
I'm using Safari 1.3.2 /v312.6) under OS X 10.3.9 on a G4 machine. Since a few weeks, my Safari causes troubles in loading certain sites. For example: www.Gemm.com and then: advanced search. This won't load! I found out, that it will load, when I disable 'Javascript' in the Safari preferences. The same problem occures with some other sites, but try the GEMM one as an example if you want. The Javascript is up to date, however only actualized with Apple's software update and never using any other resources. Other browsers, as Camino or Opera 9 are working fine. Could anyone give me an advice, what to do? Thanks for your reply.
    G4 and G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I was actually coming in to post the same question but mine is slightly different.
One of my sites will not display correctly in Safari on any of our computers. I have two sites that work fine but when I try to view www.pokerplasm.com in Safari it doesn't display correctly at all. Unlike the previous post disabling javascript does not help at all. When viewed in Safari the site that usually is well formatted, etc. when viewed in FireFox, Explorer, etc. displays as a solid brown page with the normally formated text spread across it as just broken up text and separated by lines of numbers. Banners that are usually located on the right side of the screen are moved into the main body text and placed at the bottom [or not displayed at all], and any links to forums, etc. are not shown at all.
Does anyone know why Safari doesn't display these sites correctly. We validated the site last night thinking that may help, but it made no difference.
Thanks for your help on this.

  • Time Capsule will not load certain sites

When I've selected my Time Capsule as my network, internet browsers run slow and certain sites will not load at all.  In particular, Yahoo will not load, so I have trouble accessing my email.  It works fine when I switch the network to the wireless router supplied by my ISP.  I'd rather default to the Time Capsule to use the backup function automatically.  Does the Time Capsule have the ability to block sites?  If so, how do I clear them out?

Ok.. you missed the point.. sorry if I used jargonese.
Factory reset the TC and start over.
    The Factory Reset universal
Unplug your TC/AE. Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on..  all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. The time is not important.. it is the front LED rapid flashing that indicates you are in factory mode.
    Release reset.
If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have released reset at some point and try again.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
Give the TC a simple name.. eg TCgen5 (or whatever Generation it is).
Give the wireless a simple name.. eg TCwifi when you do the setup with the airport utility.
DO NOT USE APPLE NAMES recommended by the utility. They are WRONG.
For PC they need windows compatible names. You are not giving them windows compatible names with
    Fred Blog's Airport Time Capsule
    But TCgen5 is fine.
What modem are you using?? Make and model please.
If the TC has a double NAT issue it will say so.. ie in the airport utility you will an error.. double NAT. Please if you have a double NAT error do not ignore it.. fix it. ie the TC should be in bridge not router mode.

  • Having a problem loading certain sites

Ok so I'm beating my head against a wall trying to figure this out. It's becoming more and more frequent that there are certain sites that I cannot access, in any browser, on my macbook pro running Snow Leopard. My router and everything is configured fine because I have no problems on any other computer in my home. For example there is a website I cannot access survivethenights.com which is a project I backed on kickstarter. I can access it from any computer but my macbook pro and no browser will load it. I tried pinging the address from the terminal and it pings just fine! I even tried loading the page straight from the ip address it returned in the ping and it's a no go. So I was thinking maybe a firewall, DNS, or proxy problem right? Disabled the firewall, flushed my DNS cache, tried using Google's public DNS 8.8.8.8, checked all the DNS and proxy settings, even went as far as going into the system library preferences and deleting the SystemConfiguration folder and restarting my computer and rebuilding it. Still a no. It's been happening for a while now and I have put up with it for long enough.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for the help. I followed your advice but "Apple Software Update" wasn't listed anywhere under "All Programs". But, now knowing it was the Apple Installer, I went to the Control Panel/"Add or Remove Programs" and found "Apple Software Update" listed there. I clicked on "Change" and selected "Repair" after it completed repairing the software, I tried loading iTunes and was successful. Thanks again for your quick response.

  • Firefox sometimes loads certain sites, most times won't load.

After I installed the noscript addon, it seems my firefox won't load certain pages. Firefox also updated itself on the same day.. which of these two are my problem? Some videos will also not load(e.g. youtube videos will say an error has occurred and keeps telling me to try later). It was fine yesterday... but today it seems all messed up. and Yes I have allowed noscript to allow these sites... I just don't know whats wrong..

  • Safari doesn't load certain sites properly (anything better out there)?

    Hi there,
Safari is playing tricks and is not willing (capable?) of reading certain sites (mainly banking). Colors are not correct and I can't see the menus although they are there since I can click on the white background and be directed to a desired service (after long series of trial and error...). On a second case.. the bank site shows a message saying the login page is not available (????? strange???)..I did try the same page with PC (windows) and got there very easily. I just can't use my Mac for trivial activites like surfing the internet whilst being able actually to read the site ..to banking services.
Any quick fix for this issues? Is there a better ibrowser for Mac? O should I sell my new Mac and reinvest in PC?
Thank you for your interest and anwer,
    PV

I am sure that others will express their own opinions, but I find Firefox 2 to be a reliable OS X browser.

  • Safari sporadically won't load certain sites.

So I have been sorting through the frustrations dealing with what I think is a pretty widespread issue. I chose to make a new post as all my searches found the issue tacked on to other questions, and I think this is pertinent to it's own post.
Since Leopard, Safari will at random not load one site. It will say it cannot connect to the server, and that it is either down or I am not connected to the internet. No everyone says "Thats a network issue", but it isn't. It's a Safari issue. Currently the website not working is www.apple.com, pure fun there, and as we can see, I found a way around it into the discussions. Dropping www. has no affect and both versions of the url work fine in Camino/Firefox. It simply isn't a network issue.
It's getting a bit frustrating to have no way to resolve this. Quitting Safari doesn't help, renewing the DHCP lease doesn't help. I am left at a loss. Anyone find any resolution to this?

An explanation of why that is both safe and a good idea to use those DNS settings can be read here:
    http://www.labnol.org/internet/tools/opendsn-what-is-opendns-why-required-2/2587 /
Whilst in System Preferences/Network you should also turn off 'IPv6' in your preference pane, as otherwise you may not get the full speed benefit (the DNS resolver will default to making SRV queries). If you want to know what IPv6 is:
This is Apple's guidance on iPv6:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8708.html
Click on Apply Now and close the window.
    Restart Safari, and repair permissions.

"Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Firefox can't load certain sites; your link for this topic doesn't work. Firefox 4, 5,6-Debian-6

In the last week certain websites won't load. All I get is a blank page. Some of them: www.amazon.com, www.chron.com, www.microsemi.com.
I was able to get on amazon.com by following a link for vendor feedback from an email but nothing else works.
This problem exists with Firefox 4, 5, 6 and the default Debian browser Iceweasel. I am using Debian 6.0.
Your link for this problem results in a page not found error.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Two Issues: Cannot connect to wireless networks; Cannot load certain sites

    Hey everybody,
    I have a MacBook Pro 15".
In just the past week, I've stumbled upon two sudden problems with my network/internet connectivity.
First, I can no longer connect to wireless networks, be it an infrastructure point or computer-to-computer ad-hoc networks. I'm not really sure why. I installed the latest AirPort Update (4.2.3, according to System Profiler). I also recently installed both iStumbler and KisMac v.21. When I started having issues, I thought that maybe one of these two programs might be the culprit, so I uninstalled both of them but I still have the same problem.
Second, I've had issues with not being able to connect to certain websites. I use both Safari and BonEcho as my browsers. The specific sites seem random:
    www.weffriddles.com
    www.macrumors.com
    images.google.com
    sports.yahoo.com
    finance.yahoo.com
    to list a few.
If you need any diagnostic information, please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any advice/help you can provide!
    Tommy H.

If you are trying to connect to a third-party router using WPA or WEP, there is a good chance that your Airport card was broken by Apple's 2007-02 Airport Update. There is no fix, and for many of us, our Macbooks and Macbook Pros are useless for wireless connections until Apple fixes the issue. At this point, Apple seems to be denying that there even is an issue, so we may all be in for a long wait indeed.

  • Safari Will Not Load Certain Sites

About a couple of weeks ago, myspace.com was giving me a "can’t connect to the server" error immediately after i press enter on my iBook G4. And back in January chugworth.com was doing the same thing and continues to this day. Both sites will load on any PC and ony my Mac Mini on the same wireless connection. I've tried absolutely everything. I've emptied the cache, reset Safari, repaired permissions, run Yasu, and attempted to access the sites in Firefox and Camino.
    Anyone have any solutions?

Any updates on this problem? I am experiencing the "white screen" problem with the www.livedownloads.com website. I have not experienced the problem with any other sites. Just this one so far.
I know it's not a problem with the site because I can access the site from my Internet Explorer browser at work.
Also, some other sites are "acting funny". Specifically, if any links would normally spawn a new page, Safari is generating an error message.
This really stinks. I tried using Firefox also, but it does not work either. Must be something in the operating system and/or the manner in which OS X interacts with Safari.

  • Crashes with dbs dreaded blue screen when loading certain sites -

Periodically - probably twice a week I load a screen that causes Firefox to crash - I get the dread blue screen so can't get stats although I do see errors when I log back in and bring up firefox.
You have the right config details.
Let me know what other info I can send you
By the way - when I restart Firefox it generally gives me the Oops message and lets me pick whether I want to continue or restart - I restart as if I don't I get blue screen again

Although turning off java script did help on many websites, it didn't solve the problem on all of them, but that could be the website itself.
Unfortunately I had to turn java script back on again because most forums or discussion group web sites seem to use it somewhere.
Only turning it on when required didn't work either because you have to start safari for the change to take effect.
However, one thing I noticed - and it happens quite consistently - if the download stops (As seen in the status bar at the top), if you the click on the 'stop' and then on the 'reload' button, the site loads right away on the second try.
Would that confirm that the issue is with java script or would that point to another problem with these sites?

  • 2008 iMac (OS 10.8.5) freezes when logging in certain sites

Yesterday I was on Safari (latest version) filling out Craigslist sales information and my iMac screen went blank and my old Apple Cinema Display (second screen) locked up in a speckled blue/purple design. After a few seconds the Apple Display went blank too. Never happened before. Today I was logging onto a client's corporate site and the same thing happened. I'm able to go to other sites without a problem. Just turned off my Safari Extensions to see it that helps, but haven't experimented yet.

    applepicker,
I would recommend running Apple's Hardware Test in extended mode  at least 2-3 times. If errors appear then take the machine in for repair. The reason you need to run the test multiple times back to back is AHT does not always pick up errors on the first or even second pass, however when it finds them they are correct.
    Good luck.

  • I keep getting error message: chrome://adblockplus/content/utils.js:90 when I load certain sites. How do I fix this issue?

When I "expand threads" on livejournal pages, Firefox freezes and I'm repeatedly sent the error message: chrome://adblockplus/content/utils.js:90 . It doesn't matter if I chose "stop script" or "keep running script", it still keeps freezing.
I've googled the problem, but I couldn't find a solution for it anywhere.

You might want to reinstall Adblock+. I think I had the same problem once and it was just brought on by a very spotty connection that day, but if this is happening frequently for you there may be a bug with your Adblock+
