Flash 11 installed but not detected by websites

Can any body help?  I'm about to go postal here.  I am really hating Flash!  I'm trying to upgrade our computers because suddenly most websites quite working (saying we needed a newer version of Flash).  So round and round I go trying to get it working.
I finally gave up getting the stuipd thing to install with Group Policy Manager (there is a *major* problem with the .msi install package Adobe provides from V10 forward...even though it worked just dandy for 9 and down).  Instead, I moved to the Software Update Services route instead.
Now all of my computers have Flash 11 installed -- but half of them don't work!!!.  I can look in my logs and see "successful" install on all systems.  I can go into add/remove programs on any computer and see Flash 11 is installed.  However, web sites say that flash has to be installed.  Even going to the Adobe site on these systems comes up with a message saying that Flash needs to be installed.
I'll tell my users they can't use any Flash-enabled site before I start trotting around computer-to-computer to manually install Flash player!
Can anybody offer suggestions on how to fix this thing?  Centralized install is absolutly required.
Thanks for you help!

Here is the flashinstall.log from a computer where flash does not work.

  • Adobe flash installed but not detected by all Browsers

    OK I am running Vista 64bit with ie8 firebox and chrome have the latest version of flash player 11.
    I have uninstalled it reinstalled flash 11 fine.... but going to youtube or any other site that uses flash player it asked to install. this happens on all browsers I tried on. please help asap
    Dre

    IE, Firefox and Chrome all use a different version of Flash.
    IE requires the ActiveX version while Firefox doesn't. They both use a plugin though. You can get them both from here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550
    In Google Chrome, the Flash player is embedded and you get it when you install that browser whether you want it or not. It auto updates in the background, so you don't have to bother with that aspect.

    Can you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?
    Is your Vista 64-bit?  If yes, do you use the 32-bit version of IE8?

  • Flash Player 11 installed but not detected in IE 8 or IE 9

    Windows 7 Professional 32 bit OS.
    Com registration is correct as we can load shockwave into an exe.
    Flash Player 11 is installed and can be detected via Firefox but not via IE 8 or IE9.
    Performed all the trouble shooting steps including Active X filtering and Enabling.
    Used IE Development tools including profiling and compatibility without any success.
    Uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times using the Adobe uninstaller at
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html#main_Download_t he_Adobe_Flash_Player_uninstaller.
    Registry appears correct.
    Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
    No errors are appearing.

    I've been trying to reproduce this for the last few weeks but so far have been unable to.  If I understand you correctly, when you go to this page:
    http://www.bobbyvandersluis.com/swfobject/testsuite_2_2/test_dynamic_multiple.html
    You're seeing the alternate content (most likely prompts to update/install flash) for all 4 blocks?  Do you have any idea what I could be missing and why I can't reproduce this?
    Thanks,

  • Mac IOS Flash Player updated installed but not detected

    I have repeatedly installed the new version of FlashPlayer when prompted over the past few days. My computere shows the installation as successful, but it's not working. I've visited the Adobe Troubleshooting page, and it does not detect the installation, although my finder show the program as installed. My computer is compatible with the new version, although I'm running an older IOS - Snow Leopoard ( 10.6.8) I've reinstalled several times following all directions - uninstalled old version, unblocked pop-ups, disabled fierwall.
    VERY frustrating!
    What do I do?
    Thanks!

    Snow Leopard is not iOS... iOS is an iPhone, an iPad or an iPod Touch. And there has never been a Flash Player for iOS, because Apple made iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touch incompatible with Flash Player right from the start.

  • Adobe Flash installed but not showing up in Plug-Ins?

    Before this happened, every time I would download the latest version of Flash it would show up in Chrome Plug-Ins. I have Version 17 installed but it's not showing up anymore, there's only 1 file when there used to be 2...and when I attempt to watch a video that requires Flash it tells me to upgrade when I already have the latest version... Help?

    It looks like you have the correct Flash Player and that it's enabled.  Since you have Flash Player, usually the thing that's going on is that the website either has faulty code that detects the presence of Flash Player (each website has code that does this), or if you're seeing it everywhere, it's typically a plug-in or extension that prevents that kind of code from working as written.
    Have you installed any ad-blocking or anti-tracking plugins (AdBlock Pro, Ghostery, etc)?
    In rare instances Chrome can get damaged, but a fresh install will usually clear that up.  That's the nuclear option though.

    They have a Dell Studio XPS 1645 machine, Intel Core CPU Q720 @ 1.60 Ghz
    Installed memory 4GB, 64-bit OS
    Running Windows 7
    Internet Explorer automatically updated 11/26/2013.
    On Youtube, we see the thumbnail for videos but nothing happens if you press play. On other sites with videos, for example comcast.net, we get the message that "flash is not installed". I downloaded Flash64_11_9_900_152.ocx and ran it.
    Installation runs without errors, but videos still don't work and error messages still indicate Flash is not installed.
    I uninstalled and re-installed Flash with no success. Flash is enabled as an add-on in IE. Active X filtering is not activated in IE.
    What next?
    Thanks.

    Hi Anne,
    Your version of Safari is still supported.  Please see Adobe Flash Player | Tech specs for supported OS and browsers.
    If the Flash Player plugin is in the Plug-ins (disabled) folder it's because it's an older version that Apple has disabled in Safari.  This has nothing to do with whether or not Flash Player supports the browser.
    I'm not sure what you mean by "when i click on flash player itself i am told there is no application to open it."  Flash Player.plugin only works in the browser to view Flash content in the browser.  The plugin does not open files outside of the browser.  If you have SWF files you'd like to view outside of the browser, then you'll need the Flash Player projector. However, based on your previous comments this doesn't appear to be what you are trying to do.
    Google Chrome does embed Flash Player in it, while Firefox does not.   Mozilla has also recently started blocking older versions of Flash Player in Firefox similar to what Apple is doing in Safari.
    Following the 'clean install' instructions should result in you having the latest version of Flash Player installed that will not be blocked by the browser.

  • Flash is installed ,but not seen by Chrome or Firefox

    Here is what I checked in Chrome , I have:
    Adobe Flash Player - Version: 15.0.0.189
    Shockwave Flash 15.0 r0
    This is installed but not being recognized by  either firefox or chrome. I am on a WIN 8.1 pc and IE does not work so it is disabled/turned off. It does not even open anyway.  How do I fix this?

    Let me clarify, I need flash to work in Firefox and Chrome, IE is not important. I rarely use it

  • Flash is installed but not working

    My mac has flash installed, but it won't work at all, and I can't seem to uninstall it.

    This [https://www.google.com/search?q=nplightsparkplugin.dll&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8num=100&gws_rd=ssl Google search] has many links which indicate that LightSpark is a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) or even call it a "virus". ''And after looking thru the first 4 pages of that search I don't see anything that I would feel comfortable recommending as a "fix".
    Now, the silly thing is that what I think would be the "homepage" for that plugin - "A free, open source Flash player" - http://lightspark.github.io/ - says that LightSpark is for Linux and makes no mention of a Windows DLL being available. IMO, a strong indication that you have Malware on that PC.

  • Installed but not found on computer

    I've successfully installed the latest 10.1 for my 64-bit laptop with Windows 7.  A check by Adobe confirms that it was properly installed, and that I have the correct version for my computer.
    AND YET, there is no icon for it anywhere, it doesn't come up on my list of Programs, when I enter "Adobe Flash Player" in the search bar it shows no such program, and when I try to play a FLV file, it won't give me Flash Player as an option. So..... I have it on my computer, but I apparently am not allowed to see it or access it?
    I've uninstalled and re-installed several times, and cannot for the life of me figure out what the problem is.  Any help for this maddening situation?

    Hi,
      Yes, I read his comments and I made sure Shockwave Flash Object was enabled in IE as he suggested. I am trying to make a flip book. One of the posts here in the forum said to make a SWF file, which I did. But now I can't figure out how to do anything with it. I thought Flash Reader was the right program to look at it, but maybe I'm wrong? Maybe I need Flash itself? The flip book thing has me pretty frustrated and confused. All the sites and software I've tried are poor quality. I was hoping I could figure out how to do it through Adobe to get better quality.

    Re: Installed but not found on computer
    Hi, Flash Player is a browser plugin, not a stand alone Player. You should have Shockwave Flash Object in add ons in IE and make sure it is enabled.
    Your Flash files are in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
    You may want the Adobe Media Player:http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaplayer/
    Hope that helps,

  • Sort of flash intro but not!

    Hey everyone!
    I am new(ish) to Flash and I have MX 2004
    I would really like help when it comes to making a flash
    intro. It is sort of like a flash intro but not.
    I want the elements of the website to start moving in then
    when they have all stopped moving, the site to be TML/PHP again.
    This would only happen for the index page, and only the first time
    they came to the site, so it only happened once.
    You can see an example of the sort of thing at
    this website but the whole
    thing is made in Flash.
    Is this possible, if it is can someone help me?
    The site need help with is
    HERE
    If anyone could email me of reply here I would be really
    grateful.
    Thanks!
    - Sarah

    Sarsie -
    Yes, it is possible to do this (i.e.Run Once when they come
    to the page). I expect that if you use a cookie, you could even
    tell it to only run the first time they come to the page. Most
    definitely you can have it on only one page. See my web site for an
    example of the latter.

  • ADE installed but not recognized

    I am using Windows 10, a Nook, My Media Mall.  ADE is installed, my computer authorized and I am activated.  When I download an E book, it appears to be downloaded, but when I try "open with" the only option showing is Adobe Reader. Then, I look for other programs but ADE is not listed as an option.  Is there something I have not done?

    Windows 7 and IE 11 ... I also use Firefox, for business only.

  • Trouble playing .swf - works offline in browser but not online on website

    Hi there,
    I'm having trouble displaying a flash .swf file properly on my website: http://dreamriderproductions.com/fun/game-test/
    When I view the .swf file locally on Chrome, I get a text box to enter my name and I can click Go and keep playing the game. For some reason, when it's up on the website, there's no text box so I can't progress. Can you?
    Background: The game did used to connect to a database, but the upgrade of our website (and relocation of the swf) seems to have broken the database connection. People couldn't progress past the first screen presumable because the information on which city they were in couldn't be submitted to the database. We've got a version of the game with the database connection disabled and so the game should now work - it works locally for me but not on the website!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Sion

    The code you have posted is not the same code as used in:
    <div id="gallery">
    in the link above.
    The reason that the Flash is not displaying in FF is that the portion of the code used by FF was omitted. The code currently used on the page only works in IE.
    I'm no great fan of the IE conditional statements used in the code you posted so I don't blame you for not using it. But you do need to provide something for FF.... the old, out dated method would be to add and <embed> for FF... here's the newer method..
    So either use code you posted above or better yet, get rid of that and replace the current <object> with
    <div id="gallery">
    <object id="FlashID" data="flash/201.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="958" height="242">
       <param name="movie" value="flash/201.swf">
       <param name="quality" value="high" />
         <param name="wmode" value="opaque" />
         <param name="swfversion" value="6.0.65.0"/>
    </object>
    </div>
    Give that a try. Will work in both FF and newer IE versions.
    Best wishes,
