Flash and Firefox issue

I have a flash file that uses an AS3 script to jump to random labels in order to play a different movie clip on each keyframe. The file works great in Safari and even Explorer, but for some reason it will not run in Firefox. Any ideas? I have attached the script-
function getRandomLabel():String {
  var labels:Array = new Array("patients", "renters", "subscribers","members", "applicants","guest","drivers","customers","tourist","registrants");
  var index:Number = Math.floor(Math.random() * labels.length);
  return labels[index];
this.gotoAndStop(getRandomLabel());
Thanks

Here is the embed code. This is the flash generated html file. The file loads and will play after a couple refreshes however, it only plays the movie clip on one frame. I dumbed the file down to AS2 Flash Player 8 and it loaded and played without the refresh but it still only plays the same frame.

  • Lenovo Yoga 13 128GB SSD? + Adobe Flash and Firefox

    It says that the Lenovo Yoga comes with a 128 GB SSD drive, but when I booted up my system and looked under my computer, it says that my C drive has 63.9GB and my D drive has like 25.3GB or something like that. Is that what it's supposed to be or is something not right? Shouldn't the two add up to something close to 128GB or is this normal?
    Also, when I go on some websites that required flash player on firefox, my cpu usage for flash player becomes 100% and firefox crashes? Is that normal or is something out of whack? My old laptop that run a duo does not experience this problem
    All help appreciated

    To free up hard disc space go here. Not sure about your Firefox/Flash issue as I use Chrome!

  • Quicktime  and firefox issues

    when installed, quicktime overwrites flash files, like youtube or any ads that use flash, with the quicktime logo with "?". before, if i uninstalled quicktime, flash would work again.
    now even with quicktime uninstalled, firefox promts that the "quicktime plug-in only works with quicktime version 5 or later and to visit apple.com to download quicktime". installing quicktime 7.1.6 leads to the disappearance of all flash once again.
    this problem only happens in firefox; flash works fine in both Internet Explorer and Opera.
    EDIT: when quicktime IS installed, the only MIME settings selected are for quicktime movie. nothing under the Misc. category is selected.
    this has been entirely frustrating and any help that can be offered would be extremely appreciated.
    Windows XP

    How to view/hear pretty much everything:
    Assuming you already run OS 10.4.9 or above and have Quicktime 7.2, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:
    RealPlayer from http://uk.real.com/player/
    Flip4Mac WMV Player from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)
    Perian from http://perian.org/
    Adobe FlashPlayer from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
    In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
    In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
    The world should now be your oyster!
    You should also have the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not.

  • I have some Flash and Spry issues

    Hi everyone!
    I have one question about Flash and Spry Accordion panels. I
    made this site for a school project and got the go ahead and do
    these ladies' website. They love it! They loved the Panels, but I
    don't like what Flash and the panels are doing in FireFox.
    http://hoittsappraisals.com/
    What I'm seeing is the panels sliding under the Flash element
    that is in the first panel, but in IE its fine. What can I do to
    fix it if there is a fix?
    Thank you! And I can't wait till I can try CS3 I've seen the
    Spry features that are built in and am totally jealous that it's
    goin to be super easy to incorporate, when we've been slaving away
    by hand!! haha, anyway, Any comments on the site would be much
    appreciated!
    Thanks
    Noah W

    Hi Noah,
    Your flash object is using a native window ... which mozilla
    (firefox) can't clip from the main canvas window underneath it.
    There's an attribute/arg you can pass to flash that tells it
    to share the same canvas as the browser. I think its called wmode,
    but I'm not a flash person. I've asked folks internaly who are more
    knowledgeable than me in the flash arena, so I'll get back to you
    when they get back to me.

  • Shockwave Plugin Unresponsive - Flash and Firefox up to date.

    Flash has been unresponsive and crashing all day, well over 30 times just today. The problem just started this morning. The error message I get is that the Shockwave plugin is unresponsive or busy. I haven't installed anything new in weeks. I cannot access any website where flash is required without it crashing after a few moments, moreso with videos. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling three times- as stated in the title, both Firefox and Flash are up to date. Mozilla doesn't find any new required updates on the plugin page.
    I am unable to click on settings after right clicking on any flash application (if it lets me get that far)- and that just sends it into another hang. Therefore, I am unable to deaccelerate the hardware, which I've seen as a popular solution. Flash also doesn't work on Chrome or IE because it crashes similarly.
    These are the last 5 crash reports.

    Please, help! I know that flash is the problem, because when it's uninstalled Firefox runs fine. I've uninstalled RealPlayer and any known problems with flash plugins. No matter what I do I'm stuck.

    Hi 7246291, unfortunately that hang signature is linked to several different bugs without a clear path to a solution. If you already ran through the checklist of mitigations*, my only other suggestion would be to switch Flash to "click to play" so that you can control when it is used.
    You can do that on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Plugins. Then set Shockwave Flash to "Ask to Activate". On sites that use Flash, any visible Flash region should get a click to play message, or you can use the "Lego-like" icon that will appear in the address bar.
    ''* Mitigations:''
    (1) If you have any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
    orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable the protected mode feature of the Flash Player plugin (Windows Vista and higher)

  • Windows 8.1 and Firefox issues

    Bought a new laptop, Toshiba Satellite C55D-B5215. AMD A6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.00 GHz. 4 GB RAM, 63 bit operating system, x62 based processor. 1 TB memory. Came with Windows 8.1 on it. This has been very frustrating.
    I THINK Firefox 33.1.1 downloaded. I say "think" because in trying to fix issues, somewhere I saw Firefox - PART, but now I do not know where I saw this.
    I just ran a search on "THIS PC" for Firefox and have 2 screens of listings.
    One issue: I use yahoo for email. When I click to open a message, I can not scroll down. I have to click IN the message, and then arrow down. The scroll bar on the far right takes up the entire range, so it cannot be moved down.
    Second issue: In working on things, I tried moving Firefox to Safe Mode. Now, my first problem is that the instructions to do this say to use the Menu button and the ? button; in fact, all I had to do was click on Help in the menu across the top of the page, and then click on disable add ons. So that took me some time, just to get in to Safe Mode.
    Once in Safe Mode, the menu across the top disappeared, so I could not get back IN to help to exit Safe Mode!
    In Safe Mode, the touchpad was disabled; I had to go get a mouse and connect that to move around.
    Yes, once I did THAT, and went in to yahoo mail, I could open a message and have a scroll bar on the right to move down the message.
    I had to reboot to exit Safe Mode.
    Then I had to go enable the touch pad.
    Now I have no scroll bar when I open an email message in yahoo mail.
    Next issue. Firefox is S L O W. I've used it for years on 4 or 5 other computers, never seen it this slow. It is so slow that I keep getting 'NOT RESPONDING' across the top of the page. I do not do anything and eventually the page DOES load. This happens with any site: Facebook, this Support site, craigslist, yahoo mail, any place I go to. I have not found that it is site specific.
    Next issue. Periodically the cursor locks up. Nothing I do releases it. Once in a while I wait and it becomes responsive again; other times, I have to reboot.
    Next issue: sometimes I have to click once, sometimes I have to double click ON THE SAME BUTTON. This happens when I am in a forum and want to post a reply, as one example. Sometimes one click on the REPLY button do it. Other times, I have to double click. It is not constant ON THE SAME FORUM.
    That's what I've got, for now. Any help much appreciated.

    Here are the 2 pages of listings when I search Firefox on "this computer"

  • Lack of Flash and other issues...

    My daughter has a 13" Macbook that she bought less than a month ago. Over the last three or four days it has developed a couple of issues that tech support cannot seem to resolve. First, she noticed that she couldn't use YouTube because her flash player didn't work. Then she couldn't get on the internet without the thing stopping after two or three pages. She spent all afternoon with tech support yesterday attempting to wipe and reinstall everything. Flash still doesn't work, and today she called me and Word no longer worked either. She is freaking out. She has five projects due over the next few weeks, and tech support hasn't really helped much in terms of repairing the issues. Do any of you have a clue as to how to help her?

    Which version of Word is she using? By "doesn't work" does she mean it doesn't open? How large of a hard drive does she have & how much free space does she have?
    By "wipe and reinstall everything" do you mean she used her install discs to do an Erase and Install?

  • CSS :: IE and FireFox issues

    Hi.
    I am developing a website (
    see
    here) using CSS which displays fine in IE. However, when I view
    it in FireFox, I have two major issues:
    1. On all pages, the navigation bar seems to be stretched and
    hence the links become offset.
    2. On the 'Info' page, the tariffs table is stretched
    vertically.
    Does anyone know how to solve these two very annoying issues?
    Thanks in advance.
    Tom.
    ps. I can give you the css/html files if this helps.

    Change your 'padding' to as below:
    #menu {
    position:absolute;
    padding: 0 0 10px 0;
    margin:0;
    left:161px;
    top:110px;
    height:2em;
    width:830px;
    list-style-type:none;
    border:1px solid #bbb;
    background-color:#EEE;
    > 2. On the 'Info' page, the tariffs table is stretched
    vertically.
    Many html tags including <p> paragraph and <h>
    headings have default
    margins and paddings. This is what you are seeing, which
    makes the table
    stretch vertically.
    Add an 'id' to the tarifs table called surprisingly or not
    'tarifs' as
    below:
    <table id="tarifs" width="483" border="0" cellpadding="0"
    cellspacing="0">
    Then add this css to your style sheet:
    #tarifs p, #tarifs h2 {
    margin: 0 0 0 0;
    padding: 0 0 0 0;
    You can change the values until you have the correct amount
    of space,
    top, right, bottom, left

  • Cookies and Firefox issue

    I am having an issue with my site (I did not develop it, but
    I am versed in CF enough to understand any solutions you might
    have)....
    Here is the problem...
    First, this is only an issue in Firefox. IE, Safari etc...
    etc.... do not have this problem.
    When you attempt to login, the page shows a message "Logging
    you in..." it then appears to be redirecting (as it should) to the
    requested page after successful login. But, it just flickers and
    then nothing. You are not logged in, no errors either from CF or
    from the code. Meaning there is nothing displayed to the user. So
    after a few tries users are giving up and leaving the site. What I
    have found is that if you clear the cookies then you can login and
    all is well.
    Upon further investigation, I logged into the admin side of
    the site, chose a user at random who had not logged in in more than
    a week. I tried to login to the site with his username and
    password, I could not (user and pwd are correct). After I could not
    login with his credentials, I tried my own and they too did not
    work although they did just prior to logging in with his. I cleared
    the cookies, and then it worked. (mine and his credentials).
    I also ttried, deleting just the cookies for my site and that
    doesn't work. It is only when you delete ALL cookies via the Clear
    Private Data, uncheck everything except cookies method that it
    works. So I'm stumped. I don't know if it is firefox, or my code,
    or the server, or IIS or what. Any clues that you folks can shed
    would be great. If anyone else is experiencing this sort of
    behavior please tell me what you have done. Again, I did not
    develop the site so technical details are a bit sketchy and I am
    trying to help the developer track this down.
    Essentially the site is developed in CF version 8, the login
    logic is CF/AJAX with javascript form field validation on the
    client. The webserver is IIS 6, the server itself is patched, the
    backend is SQL 2005 SP3 and again, this works flawlessly in other
    browsers.
    I appreciate any assistance.

    you said nothing about how your login framework is designed.
    are you using cflogin?
    did you make your own login framework based on session
    vars/whatever?
    are you using regular cf sessions or j2ee sessions? (you
    should do the
    latter, imho).
    let's start with that. post your code that performs login and
    the code
    that checks for login state. post you application settings as
    well.
    FF (as well as other browsers) has a feature to re-open
    previous tabs on
    start-up. this feature makes FF aggressively cache pretty
    much
    everything it can get its hands on, and never release it
    unless the user
    tells FF to clear out private data.
    your application needs to be designed with this and similar
    features in
    mind.
    post relevant code for starters.

  • Flash and YouTube Issue - fullscreen 1080p freezes computer

    Here's what's happening. If I go on YouTube and try to watch a video in 1080p in full screen, it will play fine for about 5-10 seconds or so, but then the video slows for half a second and then freezes, while the audio plays for a few seconds after the video freezes. Then, a few seconds after the video freezes, the audio stops playing as well. At this point, I go to a terminal by hitting Ctrl+Alt+F1 and issue a "pkill x" command, which "restarts" the computer and brings me back to the login screen.
    I've tried disabling hardware acceleration and adding "OverrideGPUValidation=1" to /etc/adobe/mms.cfg, but they doesn't work. The freezing still happens.
    I am on Arch 64-bit, with flashplugin 64-bit latest version (11.2.202.238-1).
    Also, another issue relating to YouTube's flash player: How can I keep the font on the player the same? It alternates from time to time between an ugly wider font and a much nicer-looking narrower font.

    Bump? This is still happening.

    I had one i686 computer I could not get flash working on.  In my case, flash would start up, then just when the progress bar came up and the video should have started, it locked Firefox up completely.  No video or audio.  Couldn't do anything in Firefox and it would require a Force Quit to kill Firefox.  It did it every time.  Looked in rc.conf and it contained the afore mentioned snd-pcsp.  Disabled it with the !, rebooted, and voila, flash worked.

  • Lion: Good maintenance program and Firefox issues

    Hi,
    Does anyone know of any general maintenance programs for Lion OS on a 2011 iMac and 2009 MacBook Pro, because I had to delete Mackeeper.  Also, I'm having issues with Firefox because I get the spinning wheel when I'm working on it.  This never happened with Snow Leopard.  Looking forward to you're responses.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    If you want to go back to Snow
    How can I uninstall OS X Lion and go back to Snow Leopard?
    1: Copy your user file folders (Documents, Pictures, Movies, Music, not Library) to a external blank Disk Utility formatted HFS drive (not TimeMachine) and disconnect all drives. Make a note of your username and hard drive name. Write down any essential information like passwords stored in keychains and product serial keys.
    2: Stick the 10.6 installer disk into the machine and reboot holding the c key down. Second screen in choose Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    3: On the left select the hard drive makers name or actual description of your internal boot drive (not the name you gave the boot drive that's just the one OS X partition) then click Erase and Erase... button (if you want to wipe the drive of all lingering data then choose Security Option>Zero all data) when choosing a name for the OS X partition/drive, use the same drive name as before.
    4: Quit and install 10.6, then go through setup, reboot and use the same user name as before. Software Update, install programs from fresh sources (enter any serial keys) Hold Option and click on Purchases in AppStore to redownload (not Lion of course) and then finally return user files to their respective folders on the Snow Leopard drive.
    5: If you have issues with iPhoto, you can right click on the iPhoto Library and "Show Package contents" and in there is a folder with all your originals. Copy them out and delete the iPhoto Library and reboot, restart iPhoto and it should be recreated, which you can then import your copied originals again.
    Note: using the same drive and user name as before, returning files exactly into their respective Music, Documents and Pictures folders like before matches any pathnames some files like iTunes has to the location of your files. If not done, then exclamation points will occur in iTunes when you click on a song. The iTunes Library will have to be opened in Text Edit and all the partial pathnames "find and replace" corrected to repair.
    Optional, but recommended.
    Ideally it's best to first Carbon Copy Cloner the 10.7 internal to another blank external OS X Extended (aka HFS+) drive before doing the above steps 1-5 as that way you have a copy of everything in case you missed something or you need to hold option boot from the 10.7 clone. The clone can later be erased and used as a 10.6 clone. Or reversed cloned back onto the internal drive or as many external drives as needed. (don't boot a clone on a different Mac, you can access the files though)
    Clones are hold option key bootable, TimeMachines drives are not.
    Note: The above steps are ONLY for Mac's that didn't come with Lion preinstalled. For reverting a factory Lion to Snow Leopard requires other methods.
