Flash Builder 4.5 developer required as partner

Good day, I'm seeking an experience FB developer to work with. I'm a UX designer using FB and Flash Professional. I need someone with experience in web and mobile application development (strictly back-end ) for android and blackberry playbook. Please if you can use openplug studio (a plugin for FB that enables conversion of FB project to native application on mobile phones for Nokia s60 symbian series) then that will be great.
Kindly let me know your hourly charge. Maximum budgeted time per project is 50hrs.
Thank you as I await interested developers

By a fluke I discovered the remedy: run both programs as administrator.
/Michael

  • Flash Builder cannot locate the required debugger version of Adobe Flash Player

    Hi,
The problem seems to be well known for last yesrs and previous Flash builder versions, but I got impression that it is still unresolved for Win 7 64 bits, Flash Builder 4.5.
    I have installed:
    - Flash Builder 4.5
    - windows 7, 64bits
    - Flash Player the latest - 11.3.r300.257
Please, let me know how to use successfully debugger in Flash Builder 4.5 without below error message:
"Flash Builder cannot locate the required debugger version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the debugger version of the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder"
    Sebar

This is a known bug for Flash Builder 4.5 and 4.6.
It will be fixed in next version of Flash Builder.
The workaround for Flash Builder 4.5 & 4.6 is to download both 32-bit & 64-bit debug player.

  • Learning flash builder

So first an intro. I've only previously owned flash mx which was enough as all I used ti for was making simple animations and such. But recently, I've wanted to get into game development. I tried learning actionscript on it, but many of the online tutorials are far advanced for my outdated flash mx. I then learned adobe has its own game development software in the form of flash builder. So I thought I'd try it out cause I'm not sure if I'm cut out for game development and would like to use this trial version to learn as much as possible and perhaps build something in the process. Keep in mind I'm completely new to this so this thread will be filled with newbie questions about flash builder. Well, here we go.

okay. my first question is. i downloaded the flashbuilder via the creative cloud but when i try to run one of the gaming samples(inwawayders) in the sdk. i get the following errors.
    C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\plugins\NPSWF32.dll
Flash Builder cannot locate the required version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder.
Do you want to try to run your application with the current version?
    after that i am told
    File not found: file:/C:/Program%20Files/Adobe%20Gaming%20SDK%201.1/Samples/Away3D/Invawayders/bin-debug/ Main.html
similarly for files like hungry hero. i get the following errors
    Process terminated unexpectedly.
    application descriptor not found
    Launch command details:  "C:\Program Files\Flash\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722\AIRSDK\bin\adl.exe" -runtime "C:\Program Files\Flash\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722\AIRSDK\runtimes\air\win" "C:\Program Files\Adobe Gaming SDK 1.1\Samples\Starling\Hungry Hero\bin-debug\HungryHero-app.xml" "C:\Program Files\Adobe Gaming SDK 1.1\Samples\Starling\Hungry Hero\bin-debug"

  • Show Notifications in Air - Flash Builder 4.6

Hi, I'm new into Flash Builder mobile apps development.
I just downloaded the latest release of Flash Builder, the 4.6.
I read in this Adobe's article, that with this version I can add "Notifications" to my apps.
I tried to, but all my experiments failed.
Here's a quick personal video illustrating all my steps, and coding errors, please, whatch it:
(It's very, very short, just the time to write some lines of code)
I think my error is simple to solve... but I'm a NewBie and I don't know very much this programming IDE.
    Thanks everybody for any help.
    Have a nice day
    Brandon
    WOW!
I'm seeing now that my video's quality is very low... here's the code I wrote:
// Here I want to declare my personal Notification Variable, as said in Adobe's Tutorial
    private var myNotification:NotificationManager;
// I saw that NOTIFICATION MANGER does not exist in my code library... but I tried pasting Adobe's one...
// as you can see from this video... the compiler gives me coding error..
      // CONCLUSION... WHAT CAN I DO ???
      // THANKS TO ALL !!!
      // Bye  :-)
    protected function button1_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void
// Here I'll paste Adobe's code to create a new Notification for my first Flash Builder Mobile App...

    Thanks again

    Here's Adobe's article I missed to link:

  • Flash Builder 4.5 Debugger Problem

    Hey Everyone,
I spent the better half of the last hour searching for a remedy to my situation but have not found one. I have a problem where in Flash Builder 4.5 I keep losing my debugger version of Flash Player. I download the version here http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#fp10 and it works again. However, seemingly random it will do it again a couple of days later. So I'm trying to figure out what is causing this or how I can fix it. It is quite annoying to go to jump into a project, debug it and then have to stop everything and download it again. Anyone know how to fix this?
I am running it on Mac OSX 10.6.7 (latest).
This is the message I receive when it breaks:
"Flash Builder cannot locate the required debugger version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the debugger version of the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder.  Do you want to try to debug with the current version?"

My two cents on this issue & how I resolved it.
I was getting a similar message which referenced a location in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash, and was looking for this version of the Flash Player: Flash64_10_3_162.ocx
What I tried that did NOT help:
Re-associating the SWF file type to open with a Flash Player debugger version downloaded from Adobe's site.
These three steps resolved the issue for me:
I had installed the 64-bit version of the Flash Player a few months ago, so I uninstalled that since it cannot be used by Flash Builder as a debugger. Back in FB 4.5.1, I got another message saying Flash was not installed at all.
I used Adobe's Flash uninstaller tool and then,
re-installed the latest debuggers for IE & Firefox.
I can now debug in IE or FF without any issues. FB finds the debug version of the Flash Player.
From what I saw when researching this, there seem to be many causes for this issue so I'll give Adobe some slack here. I will point out that the post from Adobe employee Anirudh Sasikumar, above, was not helpful in my case and was in fact misleading and not specific enough as to the location of the file he referenced. I searched for that file and found dozens of them on my machine, none in any location he mentioned. I wish he would have taken a little more time to give a complete path to this file. Maybe he did, but I could not find that path, or folders, on my machine. I work in a tightly-controlled network environment so perhaps these folders are ones I cannot see due to permissions issues, but it would've saved me time to get a complete path to start with.
For complete and full disclosure, here is my set-up; hopefully this will help others with a similar setup who are experiencing this nagging issue:
    Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit, Service Pack 1
    Flash Builder 4.5.1.313231
    Eclipse 3.6.1r361_v20100909xxxxxxx
Flash Debugger version (IE & FF): 10.3 r183

  • Flash Builder 4.5 cannot run apps

Any idea what to do with that:
Flash Builder cannot locate the required version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder.
Do you want to try to run your application with the current version?

Try to avoid using MX components in mobile apps.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 unable to find the debug version of the Flash Player.

I'm running into the following error:
    C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll
Flash Builder cannot locate the required debugger version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the debugger version of the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder.
Do you want to try to debug with the current version?
I have already went to the link the dialog box provided to download the debug versions of the Flash Player.  I have installed both the Plugin and AX versions of the debugger.  Restarted all browers, Flash Builder and rebooted the PC for good measure.  I have spent a good amount of time looking for information on this issue.  All the threads that I found that were related to this issue didn't have a workable soution so far.  Hence I'm starting a thread on this problem.
I'm running Flash Builder 4.5 on Windows Vista 32-bit.  I have tried using both FireFox 3.6.24 and IE 8.0.6001.
I started with the Trial version then purchased the license online.  I don't know if that has any bearing.
Any information to diagnose this problem further would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi emat3d,
Try to uninstall Flash Player with this Adobe uninstaller, please ensure you close all application which might be using Flash Player. Then try to install your Flash Player debugger again. It solved for me.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 problem

    Hello everybody.
I'm hoping at least somebody has a similar problem: Flash Builder 4.5 and Windows 7 x64 with Flash Player 11.
I try to launch a Flex Project in the browser but I get this message:
    C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF64_11_1_102.dll
Flash Builder cannot locate the required debugger version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the debugger version of the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder.
Do you want to try to debug with the current version?
Apparently FB 4.5 looks for the 64 bit version of the NPSWF*.dll file, but I searched on my entire computer and I only find the "NPSWF32.dll" file, not the 64 one.
Note: I have the *DEBUG* version of the Flash Player installed on FireFox 7, but it is indeed the 32 bit version because there ARE NO 64 BIT VERSIONS. Or at least none that I know of.

I'm on Win7 64 bit with FB 4.5 and FP 11, and debug works fine.
You may have the 32 bit debug player installed now, but try reinstalling the 32 bit debug player anyway.  If you're desperate, you could try renaming that 64 bit dll, copy a same-named 32 bit dll in it's place, and see what that does.  I used to do something similar to this when the security idiots where I work would push out new versions of FP all the time (although now I forget what I did specifically, I know it worked at the time).
I'm thinking that re-installing the (32 bit) debug player will restore "something" that's causing your browser to point at the wrong Flash player version.  You could also try switching browsers (try Chrome).  If you're using IE 64 bit...well, don't.  It's not a Flash Builder problem, it's a browser plugin problem.

  • Flash builder 4.7 for Students

I'm currently using Flash Builder 4.6 standard with student license. Is there one for Flash Builder 4.7? The usual student license website http://freeriatools.adobe.com/ is down so I can't get any information.
    Thanks.

    Please see the following statement:
    Statement:
The program to offer complimentary copies of Flash Builder Standard to students, faculty and staff is discontinued.  You can subscribe to a free subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud to access Adobe Scout, a new profiling and optimization tool for Flash and AIR content;  Adobe Gaming SDK, a complete collection of frameworks and code samples;  Flash C++ Compiler , cross compile C/C++ games to run your game in Flash Player; 2 GB of file storage;  and trial versions of Flash Builder and other Adobe tools .  Learn more at: http://gaming.adobe.com/getstarted/
Question:   Why was this program discontinued?
Answer:   This program was created to encourage the use of Flash Builder for the building of RIAs (rich internet applications).   Since Adobe is no longer targeting Flash Builder for RIA development this program is obsolete.
Question:  I build games so why can¹t Adobe provide these tools to students, faculty and staff for game development?
Answer:  Adobe recently announced a new set of game development tools available for free  through the Adobe Creative Cloud.  Adobe game development tools includes Adobe Scout, Adobe Gaming SDK, Flash C++ Compiler, 2 GB of file storage and access to trials versions of Flash Builder and other Adobe tools.

  • License for Flash Builder 4.6

    Hello All,
Currently I am using the trial version of Flash Builder 4.6 and I would like to purchase the product.
Before doing that, I would like to know if the license, that is given to me, is given only for the development environment or also for the compilation process.
    To be more precise:
Do I need a special (and different license) in order to compile my code from the command line?
If I want to use an open source continuous integration tool (for example Jenkins) in order to compile the code, do I need a special license for that?
    Thanks in advance,
    Felix.

  • Developing for 'Air for TV' with Flash builder 4.5?

How can I target Adobe Air 2.5 when using Flash Builder 4.5 so I can develop for Adobe Air for TV?
When I change the app.xml file to point to 2.5, I get the following error:
"Namespace 2.5.0 in the application descriptor file should be equal or higher than the minimum version 2.6.0 required by Flex SDK."

I was finally able to get my app on a Samsung TV. Here's some more info on this subject. You actually have to overlay the Air 2.6 SDK - not the 2.5 SDK.
Also make sure when you finally package the TV app to change the application XML to point to 2.5,. During development you can leave it as 2.6.
    @see http://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/airquestions/AIR+for+TV
What tools do developers use to create AIR 2.5.1 apps for TVs?
Developers can use the following tools:
    AIR 2.6 SDK
Flash Professional CS5 Extension for AIR 2.5 (now an integral feature in Flash Professional CS5.5)
    Flash Builder 4.5
Note: Developers can use the AIR 2.6 SDK for developing apps for AIR 2.5.1 for TV. In Flash Professional, set the publish settings to Adobe AIR 2.5. In Flash Builder, set the AIR namespace to 2.5 in the app descriptor file:
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.5">.
If you are using Flash Builder 4.5, you must do the following:
    Download the Flex 4.1.0.16076 SDK.
    Download the AIR 2.6 SDK.
Copy each file from the AIR 2.6 SDK into the corresponding directory within the Flex 4.1 SDK, replacing the Flex original variants.
To use this SDK within Flash Builder, select your project in the Flash Builder package explorer.
Choose Project > Properties to open the project's Properties dialog box.
Select Flex Compiler in the list and then click the "Configure Flex SDKs" link to open the Preferences dialog box.
Click the Add button, browse to the SDK, and then click OK until you get back to the project's Properties dialog box.
Click the "Use a specific SDK" option and then pick Flex 4.1 from the drop-down menu.
You must also replace the default WindowedApplication element with Application in your project's MXML file.

  • Do mobile apps developed with Flash Builder 4.5 rely on a redistributable or virtual machine?

I'm very new to Flash Builder 4.5 and am still trying to get my head around it.  I'm freelance and my primary code pimp has asked me to justify using FB 4.5 to develop mobile apps rather than something like PhoneGap or native SDKs (Objective C, Java, etc.).
I'm quite impressed with FB 4.5 and it seems quite plain to me that FB 4.5 tries very hard to provide all the tools necessary to create iOS/Android/Blackberry apps all from a single code base but I'm wondering a few things:
    1) Does this require the use of a redistributable or virtual machine?  I'm wondering both from a performance standpoint but also just to understand better how FB 4.5 provides this magic one-project-for-all-platforms capability.  I'm guessing there must be some kind of virtual machine abstraction in use -- or does FB 4.5 generate a fully native application for each platform without the need for a machine abstraction layer?
    2) Has anyone encountered a situation where any of the target platforms lack features or behave differently?  E.g., "I cannot access some hardware feature like the accelerometer on Android under certain conditions."
    3) Can anyone speak to the relative benefits or penalties that FB 4.5 offers relative to PhoneGap or other HTML 5 solutions?

Try to avoid using MX components in mobile apps.

  • Starting iOS development with Flash Builder 4.6

    Hi guys,
I want to start iOS development with Flash Builder 4.6. I have iPad 2 with iOS 6 installed (latest version available).
I was following this tutorial step by step: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/mobileapps/WS064a3073e805330f6c6abf312e7545f65e-8000.html #WSe4e4b720da9dedb5-27e02e9a12ee20e4a60-7fff
As a part of it I also did this:
    Convert a developer certificate into a P12 file - http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/iphone/WS144092a96ffef7cc-371badff126abc17b1f-7fff.html
    Installed AIR SDK version 3.4.0.2540 as for 4.5 (I have 4.6) - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-builder/kb/error-run-debug-deploy-ios.html
I try Now I am getting the follwoing errors:
Error occurred while packaging the application:
SDK is missing file /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/sdks/4.6.0/lib/aot/lib/AIRInterpreter
Error occurred while packaging the application:
SDK is missing file /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/sdks/4.6.0/lib/aot/bin/ld64/i686-apple-darwin9-ld64
Required files are missing indeed. But where can I find them if AIR SDK doesn't have them? What should I do now?

All the files in lib/aot/ are part of the AIR sdk.
You'll have to overlay the AIR sdk on top of the Flex SDK (which comes with FlashBuilder).
On windows, simply copy-paste the AIR folder on the Flex SDK folder. (merge the two folders)
On mac, use a command line and ditto the AIR sdk folder on Flex SDK folder.
