Flash Crashes, _alpha property also not correct

Im posting this in both General Discussion and Actionscript
because I'm not sure whether its just a Flash problem, or if my AS
is causing it somehow.
Heres the problem:
I ttach a movieclip dynamically.
When I do ANYTHING to this movieclip (change its _x, or
_alpha) it changes color, almost like its blend mode is being set
to Invert or something, which it ISNT.
If I trace the _alpha just after changing it Flash crashes.
If I change its _x, when it reaches a certain position Flash
crashes.
Its kinda hard to describe but I'll upload all my files if
someone can help me. This is the first time I've ever seen this
(the weird color change), or heard of AS making Flash crash (apart
from infinite loops).

I'm using a StackManager class, the problem is occuring in
CountDown.as, which is opened from Select.as. I've included
comments where (i think) the problem is occuring.

  • Stuck workflow after crash - SWPC is also not helping

    Hi Guys,
    There are some instances for a particular workflow background task which stucks and stops the workflow processing.
    This problem is not with all the instances.
    We have executed SWPC also but that is also not helping to solve our problem.
    Workflow administrator has to execute it 4-5 times to resolve this problem.
    After executing the SWPC the workflow log is updated with tRFC entries as shown below:-

  • Adobe flash crashes in Firefox but not with Internet Explorer

    I don't wish to go back to an earlier version of Adobe flash as the earlier version caused other problems.i.e. with RealPlayer. Why is it that the latest Adobe flash works perfectly with Internet Explorer but will not work with Firefox.
    Is there any way I can get it to work with Firefox, rather than when the problem occurs having to download IE and start again?
    Would appreciate your advice. Thanks

  • Quicktime Plugin crashes and Window size not correct when running a course from an LMS (Coursemill)

    I am trying to run a course from an LMS (Coursemill) and a couple issues are occurring.
    First, the quicktime plugin crashes, therefore the mp3 sound of the course does not play. When I reload the page, I get an "Unable to find API adapter" error message and the page won't load.
    Also, the predetermined window size does not work properly and I end up with vertical and horizontal scroll bars which I do not want.
    These issues are of high importance and need a solution ASAP. Please contact me.

    If you haven't already visited the using QuickTime Plugin with Firefox KB article, I would recommend you first start there. If your problem still persists & no solution is found after referencing it just reply back to this response & we will go another route.

  • Presence property works not correctly

    Hello, experts.
    I have faced next problem creating my interactive PDF form.
    I want to make group of objects invisible when user selects "No" in Drop-down List. Here is my code for function change on that DDL:
    form1.subform.DropDownList1::change - (JavaScript, client)
    if (form1.subform.DropDownList1.rawValue == 0) {
         xfa.form.form1.subform.Passport.DEContent.Pass_Num.presence = "visible";
         xfa.form.form1.subform.Passport.DETitle.DETitleText.presence = "visible";
         xfa.form.form1.subform.Passport.DETitle.fillColor = "220,227,236";
         xfa.form.form1.subform.Passport.DEContent.ReleaseDate.presence = "visible";
         xfa.form.form1.subform.Passport.DEContent.ReleasePlace.presence = "visible";
    else{
         xfa.form.form1.subform.Passport.DETitle.DETitleText.presence = "invisible";
         xfa.form.form1.subform.Passport.DETitle.fillColor = "255,255,255";
         xfa.form.form1.subform.Passport.DEContent.Pass_Num.presence = "invisible";
         xfa.form.form1.subform.Passport.DEContent.ReleaseDate.presence = "invisible";
         xfa.form.form1.subform.Passport.DEContent.ReleasePlace.presence = "invisible";
    In fact i am seeing next changes: color and TitleText in object DETitleText aren`t changing at all, other input fields become inactive for input any data but their captions are still visible, same as underline properties on them. How could i make all of these objects invisible for printing and for viewing.
    Regards, Nikita Tokarev.

    Sorry...I got them backwards (doh!)...yes, for drop-downs, I code my "did something could picked/changed" code in the "Change" event.
    Here is an example where the user has picked a position. If they then pick a new position (or change the one selected), I want to hide other form areas until they click a button to pull back position data for the "newly selected position".....
    ----- data.MainPage_SF.NewPosition_SF.NEW_POSITION_SELECT::change: - (JavaScript, client) ----------
    //Hide areas (hide will take area out of layout, ie. shrink, whereas invisible still holds the space)
    MainPage.NewPositionDetails.presence = "hidden";
    Make sure the object path to your subform or whatever you are trying to hide is correct. I always select that element and then just copy it path from one of it's own events to make sure. Also, keep in mind that the elements are in relation to each other so how you reference them is important.

  • Flash crashes on movie export?

    I am having a huge problem with Flash CS3. Every time, ( and
    I DO mean
    every time) I try to export a movie in swf format, Flash
    crashes. I'm not quite sure what the problem is but it's
    duplicatable each time.
    I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and that
    does not work. At this point Flash is useless to me.
    I realize, it's kind of a generic problem, but because I am
    desperate, can anyone tell me what might be the problem?
    Here are my machine stats:
    1.90 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
    128 kilobyte primary memory cache
    512 kilobyte secondary memory cache
    1024 Megabytes Installed Memory

    Moved from 'Using Flash Player' as this appears to be a Flash Authoring question.

  • 10.10.3 & Java updates, now Flash crashes

    Updated to 10.10.3 today and updated Java. Ever since, I get massive page reloads in both Safari and Firefox. Uninstalled & reinstalled flash and java several times with same results. Facebook will load in Firefox, but flash crashes. I also tried reenabling Java SE 6.
    Tried removing unneeded browser plugins. No go. Also restarted. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Went through and removed all plug-ins, input methods, scripting additions at both root and user levels, but no improvement.
    Downloaded the 10.10.3 combo updater and reinstalled manually rather than via the app store; appears to be fixed.

  • Can't install Flash Player 11.8; also crashes in Google Chrome

    Hello!
    I'm trying to update to Flash Player 11.8 within Google Chrome, but am unable to. I know Chrome automatically updates its internal version of Flash, but this didn't happen with the latest version. I have tried disabling the internal version and installing the external application, but it doesn't work. I can download the program just fine. When I go to install it, I click Run and nothing happens. Also, the installer file disappears from my downloads folder after I click Run.
    Also, when I try to run anything having to do with Flash in Chrome, the plugin crashes. I have tried many of your suggestions (enabling the NPAPI version and disabling the PPAPI version, uninstalling the whole program, disabling Trend Micro Internet Security 2012, disabling SuperANTISpyware, along with reinstalling (which also crashes as described above)). This only happens on one laptop and I know the settings between my two laptops are the same. I'm also getting a message about having to log into Windows as an Administrator even though I've already done so.
    Specs for the laptop with issues:
    Late 2011 Macbook Pro
    15.4-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy display (1440 x 900)
    AMD Radeon HD 6770M graphics processor with 1GB of GDDR5 memory
    Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory
    Automatic graphics switching
    Full-size backlit keyboard with 78 (U.S.) keys, including 12 function keys and 4 arrow keys (inverted “T” arrangement)
    Multi-Touch trackpad for precise cursor control; supports inertial scrolling, pinch, rotate, swipe, three-finger swipe, four-finger swipe, tap, double-tap, and drag capabilities
    2.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with 6MB shared L3 cache
    8GB (two 4GB SO-DIMMs) of 1333MHz DDR3 memory
    750GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive (split into two partitions of 375GB each)
    OS X Mountain Lion and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 (installed via Bootcamp)
    Google Chrome 28.0.1500.72
    The version of Flash Player installed on here is 11.8.800.97 (PPAPI). I current have this disabled.
    I'm not sure how to fix this issue as the internal Flash installation for Chrome was stuck at 11.7 and would not update. I would really love to get this to update and work properly as I'm tired of seeing the "new version of Flash Player available for install" popup when I boot up the computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

    That link tells how to keep your bookmarks and passwords when reinstalling. I'd say save them per the instructions, uninstall Chrome altogether, and redownload it. It should have the updated version of Flash in it. If not, download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking the following link.

  • PT880 Bios Setting Not Correct After Bios Flash

    Hey guys. Flashed bios from 1.1 to beta 1.5 and am now experiencing this problem. I get the message Bios settings not correct. After loading defaults all I get is my monitor going in to "sleep" mode. The only way to get PC to post is to clear the CMOS jumper. I find it odd that my PC booted to Windows fine with 1.1 and now this problem. The reason I flashed to beta is because I have a 2.4a prescott and heard that the beta is more compatible. Any ideas?

After finding that it sucked I uninstalled it. Went into bios and upped my FSB in 5mhz increments. I also loaded optimized defaults first disabling the dynamic OC and the usual settings and changed vcore to 1.425. I still cant get past 3.06, when I try higher, the PC restarts when trying to load windows. Ive tried bumping vcore in increments to 1.5, Northbridge up two notches, AGP at 1.7, RAM at 1.75 all with no luck. I dont want to get too gready but as my temps idle at 40C I feel I have more room to work with. I am going to try and manually enter my mem timings if I can find them and see what happens.
    Another thing I've found. When you change the FSB in the bios and it does not boot, wait a while and see what happens. For me about a minute later it finally rebooted and posted but the FSB setting went back to default. You may not have to clear cmos if you wait long enough.
    Good point about letting it sit----and then it will finally reboot after about a minute----back to FSB 200---this worked for me a couple of times.
    In Bios-----one of the tricks I did was to set the DDR to 466 and 500 and then see how that affected other bios settings----without going ahead and posting.
    It showed me that it jumped up my voltages on AGP, VDIMM and Northbridge (and I think soutbridge as well)
    Anyway----went back into bios and reset the DDR to 400----1:1----then raised all those voltages---then set my FSB up to about 230.  That was really about the highest I could get with any stability.  And that just doesn't cut it with a 2.4c which I've known to easily overclock to around 3.2 on an 875 or 865 board.
    That's why I think a 3.0c is a good chip for this VERY inexpensive board.   At 230 FSB You are doing 3.45 Mghtz which ain't too shappy
    Best timings for me were Cas 2.5 4,4,8 and changing the Vlink settings really did nothing that I could tell for performance or stability.
    Good Luck----let's us know how it turns out-----John

    Did you reinstall CS3 after CC?
    For that matter, doing an in-place upgrade on the OS is always a gamble with Adobe programs. Reinstalling all the versions you need, in order, would probably solve your problem.
    And you shouldn't need to save as IDML after opening the .inx in CC.

    I have iPhone 4 and I update it to iOS 7 and when I try to start the personal hotspot it crashed and for sometime my cellular data was also not working then allot a sudden the personal hotspot icon disappeared from my settings.
    Has anyone faced a problem like this!!!

    No. If you go Settings App > General > Reset > "Erase All Content and Settings", you will have the same iOS that was on the iPhone when you tapped the Erase button. If you believe your iPhone is Jailbroken, then this will not work. If you use iTunes on computer, this will put iPhone to current iOS which is iOS 7.0.2

  • Adobe flash 11.01.152 is crashing and firefox will not close properly

    when I go to a site such as Castle Empire Adobe Flash crashes and hangs up fire fox then eventually will report the crash. When I close firefox then try to open it again I get an error message of firefox still running. This does not show in task manager as an Application running but does as a process. I have to stop the firefox.exe*32 before I can open firefox again.
    I'm running Windows 7 and have all the latest updates.

    It is not generally advised to install software in Windows Safe Mode. Only a small subset of the Windows operating system is loaded in Safe Mode. Some software will not install at all in Safe Mode. Some users installing software in Safe Mode have ended up with problems "down the road".
    If you can not install software in regular Windows mode, that '''''may''''' indicate a problem with your Windows installation which needs to be investigated, sometimes by a professional.
    You may sometimes be advised to un-install in Windows Safe Mode when a program will not otherwise un-install, but the un-install is not as complete.

  • Flash Crashes 95% of the  Time in Both Safari and Firefox

    I am using the latest Flash Player (10.0.42.34) on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.2 with all the updates. It crashes on most videos, but not all. It does not seem to crash on YouTube videos, but it crashes on most other videos from everywhere.
    I’ve removed all user installed fonts as that seemed to be the fix in other threads. It still crashes.
    I’ve repaired disk permissions. It still crashes.
    I’ve tried to run Safari in 32-bin mode. It still crashes. It’s not a Safari issue since Firefox crashes too.
    I’ve tried to uninstall it using the official uninstaller and reinstall it. It still crashes.
    Flash Player 10.1.51.66 (beta from Adobe Labs) does not crash, but it exacerbates a more annoying problem ( http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2269429&tstart=0 ); so, until Apple releases updated video drivers or downgrades them to the Leopard ones, I can’t use it.
    I am using a case-sensitive file system. No, I will not change it to satisfy pathetic coding and neglect on Adobe’s part, but that also does not seem to be the case since it’s not complaining that it can’t load libraries since it can’t find them.
    I thank you for your help.

    ~Bee : I think that's the report you get with 10.6.x if a plugin causes a crash - they isolated the plugins from the application so it wouldn't bring the app down with it, instead, it just crashes WebKitPluginHost or agent & one can continue browsing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please.
    Spooky - would http://rentzsch.github.com/clicktoflash/ do what your scripting aims to?
    Re the crash - seen at least one very similar, that was fixed with a full reinstall - but hmm.
    I'd try removing the plugins manually, then extracting new ones from the adobe installer thing using UnPkg or Pacifist & placing them in the plugins folder yourself, then repairing permissions, just in case.
    Do the crashes persist in a different user account?

  • Non-liner changing of _alpha property

    I have following problem: I try to modify _alpha property of
    an object using AS, increasing the _alpha value non-linearily
    I have three frames movie.
    On the fisrt frame there is a mc called "OBJECT", with _alpha
    set to "0", plus this AS:
    speed = 10;
    beg = OBJECT._alpha;
    end = 100;
    difference = end-beg;
    move = difference/speed;
    OBJECT._alpha = beg+move;
    on the second frame I ask if the _apha value has already
    reached the "end" value (which is set on the first frame), if NOT I
    go back for the first frame and if YES I would continue my movie
    if (OBJECT._alpha<(end-1)){
    gotoAndPlay(1);
    } else {
    gotoAndPlay(3);
    BUT thing is that the _alpha value NEVER reach the "end"
    value set on the first frame. Just in case the "speed" value is set
    for "2", every other value DOES NOT WORK ... and that is the
    question - WHY?
    thanks for any helps

    that's not correct. flash represents the alpha as a number
    from 0 to 255 and that's not relevent to your problem.
    what is causing your problem is that flash allows only 8
    significant digits to represent an object's alpha and you chose a
    series of alpha's that converge too slowly. if you'd chosen speed =
    2 (or 3) you'd have no problem.
    or if you'd performed your increments on a variable that
    stored the alpha you would realize the usual flash 15 digit
    accuracy and could have used speed = 10.
