Flash file doesn't support all browsers

hi guys,
I have flash file which accepts data from Javascript using
swfObject.js and displays it dynamically(using addVariable). But
the problem occurring is it doesn't support all browsers. I have IE
6 and Mozilla Firefox 3 with Flash player version 10 installed in
it. I am not able to run the file on it. I can't understand why as
the code written in as3 and in javascript is right. Could you
suggest some solution?

Just as a thought,
Following are the reasons when you can't see a flash movie.
1. No flash player installed
2. Browser is not having Javascript enabled and noscript tag
is removed from HTML published from Flash.
3. Incorrect path for swf is inserted in the HTML page.
4. There is an error at the very begining of the flash file
which is stopping it to show properly.
5. Browser settings are disabling object/embed tags.
I am able to see your link in both IE7 and FF3 browsers. So
what I think is, in your case the reason is 5 or 2.

  • Flash Plug-in Crashes across all browsers despite re-install

About a week ago, my MacBook's Firefox browser started crashing whenever I checked my hotmail or Youtube, failing to load the flash content in either a  banner add or the Youtube video, I uninstalled flash, and the problem went away, only now I am unable to visit youtube or access any flash content on the internet. The problem extends across browsers to Safari and despite reinstalling, trying to revert to an old flash player, even downloading the full trial version of Flash from this website on the suggestion of a tech support person from this site, I have been unsuccessful.  The browser crashes whenever it comes across any flash content.
    Can you help me?

    I left it at 10.0.12.36

Subject: Flash Player Flash Plug-in Crashes across all browsers despite
    re-install
I support a bunch of Mac users and one of them (10.5.7 MBP) ran into this same
problem last week with both Safari and Firefox crashing with the flash player
plugin. If I removed the Flash Player plugin and the .xpt file there was no
crashing but no flash either. I used a combination of different suggestions and
here's what finally worked (so far anyway):
Show package contents for Firefox/Contents/MacOS/components and Get Info
changing perms for read/write for everyone.
Re-installed shockwave plugin using the customized full install (this made no
sense to me since I had made no change to shockwave but as I was testing the
browsers I was prompted to install it, so I did)
    Repaired permissions
The version of the Flash Player plugin that ended up installed on this Mac is
10.0.12.36. I started off installing the newer and recommended 10.0.22.87
version but it didn't fix anything. I inadvertently went backwards as I moved
plugins in and out of the Library. I didn't want to change anything once it was
working so I left it at the older version. I hope this helps someone else.

  • Flash CS3 file doesn't appear in browsers

We have created a .swf file in Flash CS3 for placement in a
DreamWeaver CS3 created web site. The file is visible in
DreamWeaver's preview, but when uploaded it doesn't appear in any
browser on either Mac or PC.
We have the Flash Player 9 plug-in. We have made sure that
the file name contains no spaces. What else could be causing this
    problem?

Thanks for your reply. We have now resolved the problem by
doing further research in the Adobe forums: we didn't realise that
DreamWeaver creates a script folder associated with the Flash file,
which must be uploaded along with the .swf file. It's all working
now, and the sum of our knowledge has increased a little!

  • Flash 10.1 Crashes in ALL Browsers

I have had this problem for a few hours and I am frustrated that it won't resolve. I have tried the following:
Uninstalling and Reinstalling Flash (5 times)
Uninstalling and Reinstalling Browsers - Chrome, Firefox
    Deleting the %winroot%/Sys64WOW/Macromed/Flash directory
    Using the Flash uninstaller
    Updating my graphics driver
Running CCleaner and deleting all temp. files (Fixed the problem for about 10 mins)
I have tried just about everything I can think of and nothing has worked period. I could watch videos for about 10 mins then it went back to crashing on load. The whole browser crashes once I load even a youtube video.
    Browser Versions:
    Chrome - 5.0.375.127
    Firefox - 3.6.8
    Running Windows 7 Ultimate x64
I really would appreciate some help. It only stopped working yesterday.

I have almost the same problem, but using it on a via C3 based CPU  (Samual 2 family) and windows XP Pro with Service Pack 3 (32 bit).
The flash plug-in fails to load on most cases (for example, Yahoo web messenger, youtube and some offline swf files) on Firefox 3.6.8 and Opera 10.60. Flash player 9 also has these problems but curiously 10.0.45 version works partially (runs too slow and decreases performance of my PC). I guess this is a cpu conflict (i heared that some C3 processors doesn't read "cmov" instructions, some apps like mplayer experiments the same failures).

  • Adobe Flash Player Plugin crashes in ALL browsers while accessing webcam

    Hi,
I am struggling to get my adobe flash player plug-in working while accessing webcam.
It simply crashes in all browsers. I googled this issue and realized many users are facing this issue.
However I did not get any solution to fix this. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling plug-in multiple times but of no use.
    Following are specifications:
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (32 Bit) SP3
Browsers: Internet Explorer (8.0), Chrome (8.0), Mozilla Firefix (3.0)
    Webcam: Dell monitor inbuilt webcam
    Flash Player version: 10,1,102,64
Please note, the webcam is accessible through other applications (e.g. Yahoo! Messenger, Skype, Windows Explorer)
Also, Adobe Flash player doesn’t give any trouble while playing streaming videos on YouTube etc.
Trouble is only when flash player tries to access webcam through any browser (eg. while "Record from Webcam" on YouTube)
An interesting observation I like to note here, the device list that appears in the plug-in window is blank for both video/audio devices (See the area encircled  RED in the image below)
Not sure, but just suspecting could this be potential reason for crash?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Struggler

    Hello all,
My doubt was correct. It was all due to the blank device list. After lot of struggle I found this solution worked for me:
    1. As soon as the plug-in tries to access webcam, it will show you "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
    2. Click Deny then Close to close it
    3. Now press tab key on keyboard. It will highlight (in yellow) and show list of devices in video device dropdown control (This could be little bit tricky and you need to put little bit more efforts to see the list). You can now select your webcam as device here.
    4. Press Tab key again to go audio dropdown and select audio device.
    5. Then right click and bring up "Adobe Flash Player Settings" again.
    6. Under Microphone and Camera tabs, make sure we select same devices we selected in 3 & 4 above
    7. Come back to privacy tab and this time chose "Allow" and then close "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
    8. You should now see the camera images in the plug-in
Conclusion: This is a workaround worked for me. Plug-in is quite unstable and there is definitely something here Adobe Flash Player plug-in developers need to do about.
Hope this workaround helps many other users.
    Thanks,
    Struggler

  • Flash content doesn't display in browsers

I recently updated Dreamweaver to 8.0.2. I updated an .swf
file, updated the link on my DreamWeaver page and uploaded
everything. When I saved the DreamWeaver page a window popped up
that said it was modifying the html to work with the updated
Internet Explorer. The new .swf file doesn't display on any browers
    (Safari, FireFox, IE)
Does anyone know what's going on?

Did you upload the Scripts folder that DW places into your
    local site when
    you do this?

  • All My Files doesn't show all my files

This probably is normal system behaviour, but it seems odd.
All My Files does not display all of my files.
It displays ones in top- level folders, ones that i've edited recently, and new files.
Perhaps these are all the files i've edited/opened since installing Lion?
    It's strange, though.

In the All My Files window, there are several sections in which files are shown in a coverflow style. Above every faint top line that divides each section there is some small text that says show all. Click that and it will show all of your files.

  • Trying to make sure my flash file doesn't require flash 11

im working in cs5.5 flash and i published my flash file with flash player 9 and then added it in a dreamweaver file; uploaded everything to my site and it asks me to download flash player 11.
    http://www.rija.ca/CBC_test/CBC_Winter_2011_Test.html
i need it to work w/out flash player 11 cause so many ppl dont have that yet.

i'd use swfobject for embedding those swf and i'd replace the edited swfobject used by dreamweaver following the directions here:

  • Flash 10, Windows 7 and all browsers = crash of the browser HELP

I have Win 7 Ultimate edition, did a clean install last night. I have tried Flash with IE8 32 & 64 versions, Fire Fox and Safari all with similar results.
I am trying to complete Flash Based learning lessons for work to give you an idea of what I am trying to accomplish.
    the problems are as follows:
IE8- Both Versions- I can run through the entire presentation but once I click finish to close out the browser crahes and the flags are Browser and Flash
stopped working I tried the remedies windows produced for me with no results.
FireFox- Problem- The window opens and I can see the presentation but the navigation buttons have no button just the words INVALID
Safari- Problem- The presentation shows up with all navigation buttons but I am not able to click any of them, the only option that works is the windows close button
I have tried reinstalling by downloading from each different browser, I have tried a system restore to last night right after my windos install, I have tried stopping the processes in msconfig (which was a soltuion in another thread) and a few other things (nothing too technical). I asked one of the IT guys in the office about it and of course didn't have time to toubleshoot it for me before he went to lunch, his responce was dam thats wierd.
Any help from the forum would be greatly appreciated.

We've been fighting this problem FOREVER!!
Why doesn't Adobe simply come out with a "Troubleshooter/Personal Settings" Inspector Program?
That way, I would start that program & it would analyze my op system, browser & version, current flashplayer being used
, and tell me the changes needed.  If Adobe REALLY  wanted to do it right, that program would make necessary changes "FOR US"! But, *WILL* THEY? Knowing Adobe, I DOUBT it.
If changes need to be made, it simply tells me what they are & give me links to accomplish all of it?
    IS THAT SO DIFFICULT?

    Hello,
We don't have any plans for a new version of Flash Player for Android.  That said, some users have been able to get Flash Player working on the Kindle Fire by using third party browsers.

    Hi, Brian.
One other thing I should point out: I also have
QuickTime 7.0.4 and the latest Flash player and have
not had a problem with either. Again, I'd be very
interested in knowing what led you to conclude QT
7.0.4 was causing the problem with Flash.
If it turns out that QT 7.0.4 was not the problem,
i.e. if the problem recurs after removing QT 7.0.4
using the reinstaller you cited, let me know as I

My mistake. I looked at WOW64 in the faulting module and suffered an momentary lapse in concentration I think. That of course means that it's a 32-bit module running in a 64-bit environment. Apologies for the error.
