Flash Menu, HTML content and Z-index

I have a flash menu that needs to overlap HTML content. I have already done this by using a negative margin on the HTML content and setting the flash menu to transparent.
The problem is all the HTML links that are 'underneath' the Flash menu do not function. I tried changing the Z-index but that did not work because then the menu goes behind the text. Are there any other solutions?

Well, there's always a way to make so-called "pure" CSS menus
a bit
cleaner :-)

Spry HTML Panel and Google Indexing

I've started working with Google analytics and am now realizing that my use of the Spry HTML Panel as cool and efficient as it is, is not being index by Google. I am using the links with php pages that query a FileMaker database for it's content and need to have Google be able to open and index the pages. What changes can I make to the standard HTML Panel Code to allow this to happen. I'm getting ready to take on a large project and this will be very necessary.

Ajax requests / all javascript are not seen by spiders / bots. Its a
common issue with Ajax applications.
There a few ways to get them indexed. Point to it with a general site
map. So it get indexed through a other way.
Place links on the page that does the ajax calls to the urls. And
replace the urls with your HTML panel content.
So Spiders will follow the normal links and users will get the content.
Other way it to completely ditch html panel and just show it on the
page it self :P

DPS html content and iPad retina display

I have embedded an html audio player into InDesign Cs6 using folio overlays / web content.
I also have customized the audio controllers (play/pause/stop/progress bar).
Do I have to make the png's twice (for iPad without retina + with retina)?
And where do I have to save this images?

PDF is the preferred format of the folio file, because it handles scaling well enough that you shouldn't need two seperate renditions for iPad+Retina.
Not sure what images you're referring to, can you clarify?
If they are part of the HTML content, then they need to either: within the folder where the .html file is, and referenced accordingly, or if you're using a HTMLResources.zip to handle your HTML content, then they need to go there.

Can GoodReader download html content and save?

The question is vague, but what I mean is the following: If I download an html link in GoodReader, I can click on the link and then it loads the page.
But to avoid downloading a number of times, is there a way to save the content in a pdf so the content is stored on the iPad?
This would be like printing to pdf on a mac, so the document resides in pdf on your system.

Thanks. This helped. Though apparently it just downloads and stores the text, not the icons of pictures, which appear off line as question marks. The reason I didn't notice this is that the thing I tried had the desired text inside the graphic, so nothing appeared off line.
By the way, some sources (e.g. the New York Times) have a "Print" version, which just shows the text without all the graphics, but when yu try to download these, it loads the original article.
Something like "Print to pdf" with the pdf loaded onto the iPad still would be nice.

Book with Table of Contents and Index

I want to write a genealogical book over 100 pages long, including photos, charts, and lots of text. My last book was on a PC using Adobe PageMaker, and I liked its ability to create a Table of Contents and an Index, both of which adjusted automatically as you added pages in the middle. An index is essential to genealogy, as people are mentioned in different places. To put a name in the Index, you selected the name, entered different possible versions of the name, and from a menu picked "Place in Index". When ready, you selected "Create Index" and it went through and picked the words that you had marked, noted what page they were on, and created a neat index. I need something like that for the Mac.
I tried Adobe InDesign on the PC, and found that it was mostly for graphics and fancy lettering and did not have a good Table of Contents or Index function. Mac's Pages program does not seem to have any indexing function at all, and gets very difficult to use as the document gets large.
Is there any Mac program which can write a serious book?

That is not a feature of iPhoto
And iPhoto books are limited to 100 pages (50 sheets of paper)
You can create custom pages in other software and print to PDF using the send PDF to iPhoto function to create an image in iPhoto to place in your book

Problem with Flash Menu in iWeb...need help please.

Ok, I designed a flash menu in iWeb and successfully placed it at the top of the site. I then used the "transparent shape" method to make the hyperlinks work properly. I made sure the flash menu was in the back and the transparent shape hyperlinks were in the front. The menu works just fine for me and anyone else using Safari or Mac computers. However, people on Windows using Firefox, IE or Chrome are unsuccessful in clicking the links. They do not work for them.
Here's my website's homepage link. Keep in mind, if you look there on Safari, it will work but it does not when on a Windows computer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It is clearly the problem that the flash menu is opening in front of the hyperlinked shapes but I'm not sure how to make sure they stay on front.

I don't know the answer to that one but you can use the Mouse Over and Click method I have described on this page....

It works in IE.
Its just a question of making up two different buttons with text for each link, taking a screenshot and cropping them and adding the JPEGs to your upload folder.
You can make up the buttons on an iWeb page and then delete them when you have taken the screenshots. I usually do this sort of thing in Keynote so that I can save them in case I need to modify them.

How to extract the Html content of a UI Map into a text file or html file?

Hi,
Is there any possibility in OUAF or Java or from the Database, to retrieve the Html Content of a given a UI Map ?
If UI Map name is the input, then it should fetch the entire html portion of it into a text file. How to acheive this?
This needs to be done programatically either by writing some Java code or some SQL at the DB level?

F1_MAP.HTML_DEFN would give the html contents and F1_SCHEMA.SCHEMA_DEFN would give you the UI Map's Schema.

Fetching Dynamic email address from the HTML content sent in the email body

Memory leak in Jeditorpane.setText method while displaying html content

I tried to display a larger size html page using JeditorPane. But I found that there as a huge memory leak after JEditorPane's setText method was called.
Refering to the below code there was a difference of about 40 MB after the setText method was called.This does not happen if we display the page in rtf format.This finally results in Out Of memry error.

The html i am trying to display is similar to the one below.But the original content almost 10 times bigger than this html content and it has only td and tr tags. and for this file the leak is about 4 MB and if I use the file 10 times bigger than this it is 40M .
Any suggestions how to avoid this memory leak?

Content And Structure Page Missing Content And Structure Report Views

Hello,
In our Sharepoint 2013 farm, we have a site colllection with Turkish Language Pack.
When Farm admin displays the Content And Structure page, he has access to all
Content And Structure Reports from the View menu.
Howeverall other users including site collection admin
could only access to default view from the view menu.
Content And Structure Reports list can be displayed by those users.
I checked the permissions, sharepoint logs with verbose level and event logs but had no clue at all.
Is there any points that should be checked?

To resolve the issue, I started by checking the following :
1. If the Publishing Features on the site Activated – The Publishing features were enabled on Site and Site Collection levels.
2. Does Site Collection Admins or another user see the Options – Only Site Collection admins were seeing the extra Options. Other users like with Contribute Permissions and even Full Control would not see the Options.
3. Lastly, I checked if the Users who are trying to Access the Views in Content and Structure tool had Contribute Permissions on the site –
All users who were experiencing these issues had Contribute Permissions on the site.
So after looking at the above facts, I realized that something is wrong with the permissions on the site and that is restricting these users to see all the View Options as seen by Site Collection admins.
Solution – While checking the permissions I found out that the Top-level Site Collection had NT authenticated users added to it but with a “Limited Access” assigned to it Instead of the required “Read”. Switching the permission for NT authenticated users
(or users who had this issue) to “Read” fixed the problem.
So the moral here is that if in case your users are not seeing any Options other than “Default View” in Content and Structure View drop-down, try giving them at least “Read” permissions at the Site Collection or top-level to make other Options Visible.

Need Flash sub-menu to overlap HTML content

I have a Flash header with a menu item that drops down a sub menu and takes up an additional 200px or so of space. I need the menu to overlap the HTML content below without having to make the SWF file taller, since that would push everything down. Is there a way to do this?

IIRC, you'll need to make the SWF bigger, set it's wmode to transparent, and negative margin the content below it to ghetto it up under the swf.

The only current way is to use an iFrame, or if you only need some html tags you could use the Text Layout Framework.

If the swc do not work in Flex4 just use its ource code which works...

Navigate to HTML anchor from flash menu

Hi,
I would like to navigate to an html anchor from a flash menu.
I use navigateToURL(“#anchorName”,
“_self”). It work fine in IE 7, Firefox 2 and 3 but in
safari the page reload. How can I prevent safari from reloading the
page ?

im download felx bulder 3 and make a new flex project ....

but when i want to run my project i take empty page with the

that error mean i havent flash player on my pc
but i have because it will installed by default with adobe
flex builder, and flash cs3 on my pc, and im installed it from
adobe web site, and im installed it from cd
but without any result, i have same the error when i want to
run my flext project

note: im using windows vista ulimate

I had the same problem.
After I've installed new flash player version 9.0.60.120.
I've got the same error.
I'm using Korean windows. Maybe that's the problem. I don't
know yet.
I will test on English machine tomorrow.
Anyway,
Problem is caused by version detaction javascript.
In AC_OETags.js file, there is ControlVersion() function.
Inside of that function,
axo = new ActiveXObject("ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.7");
this line throw error with catching but do nothing.
So, overall javascript recognize flash player as version 2.0
and something.
I testd this on firefox 2.0.0.4 and IE 7.0.5730.11.
There are all Korean version and failed.
But Safri beta version for Window works fine.
This does not have any Korean version yet. That's why I
assume maybe
that's causing the problem.
So, I guess Adobe people will do something for this, but if
you want to
run it right now without this error message.
Easiest way is just turn off that Flash player version
detection in
project properties > Flex Complier > HTML wrapper.
Uncheck Require Flash player version.
Or edit your Javascript by yourself in
html-template>AC_OETags.js.

So when the users visit the site they can see the offer and if they like it to contact the company. But inside the Content management system i have a textarea where the moderator wants to paste-in some tables in a html format ... something like this ...

Basically a table with some text in it ... but then i need to save this in some file (this is still done in the php) and after it is saved in a file I need to somehow show it in its table form inside a textarea in flash. Or if not in a textarea in some other way inside the flash movie i need to display that content in its table form. What I am using now is a web text editor from http://ckeditor.com/ which provides a way to paste the table in the content management system (or admin panel) and then it saves it to a file. The problem is how do I display the table inside flash ?

Flash has very limited support of html tags and tables are not included. So if you want to show an html table then your best bet will be to link to an html web page.
