Do you have any code we could take a look at? If you are
using the test environment, make sure you go to Control -->

  • Work-around for flash player hangs/freezes during initialisation...

    Hello all,
Are you also facing the problem that the flash player hangs/freezes during execution of an xcelsius file? Try if the following work-around works also for you.
I am (was) facing the same problem: a swf file about 1474 kb with many components, generated with Xcelsius 5.3.2.0., trying to view with flash player 10.1.82.76. Did also hang/freezed! The file was originally build with version 5.3.0 and worked o.k. then...
The work-around which works for me is the following: I had all my components organized in groups. After ungrouping them all (which I think is a major drawback) and exporting it to swf, the report works! File size is more or less the same...
Maybe you can give this work-around a try for your own work....
So I think the SAP/Adobe bug has something to do with grouping of components or grouped components build in an earlier version of Xcelsius 2008... The following test that I will perform is ungrouping the components and then re-grouping them again in version 5.3.2.0....
    Greetings
    Erik-Jan Vriens

Thank you for sharing this. Had a similar problem before and did some tinkering around with the file and all of a sudden it worked again. Fair bet it was exactly that as well.
In general Xcelsius performance goes down the drain if you start using many components. It is to be expected, somewhat, I guess. Various bugs also pop up because components do not always seem to play nice.
One thing I have found as well is that if you are doing a waterfall approach of constructing with a bunch of iterations in the implementation phase, you may end up with a bunch of components that were there early on. Sometimes they start messing up over time, because you've been playing with the data below or with the chart itself. E.g. on line charts label start distorting, or the frames flicker. In radiobutton boxes the boxes are not aligned properly. Checkbox labels are clipped at the end until you hover over them etc..
Solution: remove the components, add anew. If not too many components with a tough spreadsheet below, export Excel, start a new.

  • Having issues with Adobe Flash player hanging the browser

Having issues with Adobe Flash player hanging the browser.
    WIN 7 enterprise 32 bit / Firefox 19.0.2 /
Internal company website keeps giving attached screen shot error, and hangs the browser when error pops up.
    Steps taken:
Uninstalled Adobe Flash player with the file “uninstall_flash_player.exe”
    Deleted provided directory in instructions
"Copy and paste the following and click OK.
    C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
Delete all the files in this folder."
Rebooted PC and reinstalled the flash player directly from “http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html”
Re launched company website and received same error.
Repeated above steps as well as uninstalled Firefox browser.  Even went so far as to remove all profile information to start fresh from all profiles on the laptop with the same results.
Note: The web page will work without the flash player plugin, and my page doesn’t hang the browser. Required to open page in FireFox per company policy.

I'm sorry you're encountering this.  Could you paste a few of the most recent report ID links displayed when you go to "about:crashes" in the Firefox address bar?
As for workarounds, the first thing I'd suggest is trying our 11.7 labs release which you can get here: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html
If that doesn't help, please try the troubleshooting steps outlined in this FAQ:
How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?
In particular, I'd recommend temporarily disabling protected mode (for troubleshooting purposes only) to see if that addresses the issue.
    Thanks,

  • Flash Player Freezes While Buffering Then Won't Proceed Even After Computer Restart

I am having frequent problems with Flash Player freezing while watching Korean dramas hosted online (http://www.mysoju.com/empress-chun-chu/). Flash Player freezes while viewing file and then won't proceed past that point even if I close all browser windows and even if I restart my computer. Sometimes I can get around this by saving the file to my hard drive using Real Player "download this video" button. However, the download often freezes at what appears to be the same point as the freeze in the streaming Flash Player. Even if I delete this partial file from my hard drive, repeated efforts to download the file again result in instantaneous file completed messages with a new incomplete (partial) file of exactly the same size as before. I can't find where Flash Player or  MS Windows Vista is storing the partial download files. Any help would be greatly aprreciated.
It appears these Flash Player freezes may be causing or resulting from DSL modem or wireless router connection problems that result in the internet light on the DSL modem not being lit. These problems seem limited to web browser pages with flash player.

    Tom

    I figured it out.
It has to do with nested items using 3d functionality.
I had sprites loading the images which I in turn addChild to another sprite (so I could offset the position before rotation).
As soon as I changed my
    holder.addChild(image);
    to
    addChild(image);
    ... my problems disappeared !
This means I have to change my concept a bit, or at least rewrite the code - but at least the stuff stays on screen.
I really hope this issue gets sorted out.
Hope you figure your issue out as well.

    Hi iednolb
Like the original poster,T, I am having very similar problems, so have been following your advice with interest, but no success.
My details as follows :  Vista, 32bit, IE 8  My only AV is Kaspersky using their firewall not Windows,
Flash was working fine, then some malware was discovered and  subsequently deleted since then Flash has not worked in You Tube for example.
Like T said in his original post the exact applies regards the Shockwave Flash Object not being listed in my Internet add ons.
My files listed under Flash differ though :
    Flash101ocx
    FlashInstall
    FlashUti101_ActiveX.dll
FlashUti101_ActiveX      (note no .dll )   I assume the uninstaller and no install mentioned
As I said I have tried most of the suggestions to the letter made here and on other forums but no joy.
Appreciate any further advice, especially on the missing install entry and the add ons section.
    Thanks.

Can someone tell me what's going on? how can be flash player creators so careless?
To see an example you can visit this page and click play while using firefox 15 with the mentioned flash player 11.4 it hangs
    http://www.bloghuts.com/2011/03/fancypants-adventure.html
Just to mention I tested many games site for the same game and other games, the issue is with Flash Player without a doubt.

I tried the game. It took long  in beginning to load the game (heavy work on the plugin process)  but I could play full game without hang. You may wan to see if your hang is due to protedted mode feature.

  • Safari 4.0.3 + Flash Player Hang SBBOD Problem.

Hi, I feel like this is a bit redundant, but I've been skimming through the forums trying to figure out the answer to my problem.
My Safari was updated to 4.0.3 recently (earlier today, I believe), and now when I try to visit any site with flash-based content (youtube, certain news sites, etc.), Safari starts to hang and I have to do a "force quit". I followed instructions and was able to figure out that the Flash player plug-in caused the hanging/crashing problem.
As far as I know, I have the latest updated plug-ins. Also, I don't have any other plug-ins installed besides the default ones (my MBP is fairly new, I got it around 2 weeks ago. This is very annoying, considering that Safari was working just fine 8 hours ago (since I was still able to view flash-based websites without the hang problem).
Right now I've disabled plug-ins to avoid the hang, but it's really a nuisance and I can't figure out why the problem is happening. My best guess is that it has to do with my updating Safari from 4.0.2 to 4.0.3, but I'm no tech guru.
I'd really appreciate the help! I'm posting my latest crash report in the post below!

edit: I decided to reboot my machine just in case and now Safari is working just fine. If it hangs again I'll edit this post...

  • Flash player hanging up and crashing on all web browsers. Problem turned out to be AMD drivers

I have been having a problem running Flash Player, green screens, hang ups, crashes etc on my machine. I tried various solutions and every major and some not so major web browsers all to no avail. I tried reinstalling my windows 8.1 no good also tried running 8 and 7 all 64 versions. No go I came a cross a post about a problem with Flash and AMD that seems to recur every nown and then. I have a AMD HD 6670 1 gig GDDR5 PCI-E 2 card so I tried going back through AMD drivers untill I was able to get it to function properly. Finally I ended up using the driver from Dec 2013 13-12_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql along with the AMD Media Codec Package from Aug 2012 12-8_vista_win7_win8_32-64_xcode Flash is now playing with no problems. I thought I would share the solution I used in case it might help others.

I have Win XP and every time when i install new copy of win

explorer ) when it requires to download flash player i accept but
after 150kb it stucks and nothing over there i tried this 4,5 time
but no away... what's the problem with it? is it due to bad net
    service or anything else?

    Hi
I received the error while installing the flash player update.

  • Flash player hanging with hardware acceleration enabled

I'm having the following problem: The Flash player is working fine for some apparently random period of time, then it hangs when it is starting up in order to display a video.  This appears to happen only when hardware acceleration is enabled.  (I have not noticed any problems with hardware acceleration disabled, but I only discovered 24 hours ago that this helped.).  The hang happens under all web browsers (Firefox reports that the Flash player crashed, but it is actually hung on start up, not crashed).  After a hang occurs, trying to view any other Flash video also hangs, and all other programs that attempt to access the video card like Windows Media Player also hang.  The only way to reset things and get video working again is to reboot the machine.
I suspect the problem is either the Flash player or the machine's graphics driver.  I'm running Flash Player WIN 10,1,53,64 under Windows 7 64 on an Intel Core i5 machine with Intel GMA HD graphics, driver version 8.15.10.2025.
BTW, is there anyway to permanently disable Flash's use of hardware acceleration? (if I disable, the setting doesn't seem to want to stay)

Thanks.  The computer is a Lenovo Thinkpad T510.  Intel's utility reports:
    Graphics Driver
    Product Detected
    Intel® HD Graphics
    Current Driver Installed
    8.15.0010.2025
A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your  computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the  driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized  computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.
Running Lenovo's ThinkVantage System Update utility reports that all drivers are up-to-date.

  • Is anyone else experiencing Adobe Flash Player crashing while playing Facebook games?

Since updating Flash Player, it crashes often while I'm playing Zynga poker. My operating system is Windows 7, 64 -bit, Firefox my browser.  Would like to know if there is something I can do to fix the problem.

Run the appropriate installer for your operating system and browser.
If installing for Internet Explorer, run the installer with "winax" in the file name.
For Windows, running the executable that ends with .exe is recommended.
For me both options above are the same, cause IE only works on windows...? So I seriously still don't know now what installer or .exe to use for Vista 32 bits in combination with Firefox when I look at this list....
    Windows XP/Vista/7/2003/2008
       - Internet Explorer: flashplayer11_2r202_233_winax_32bit.exe
       - Internet Explorer: flashplayer11_2r202_233_winax_32bit.msi
       - Netscape: flashplayer11_2r202_233_win_32bit.exe
       - Netscape: flashplayer11_2r202_233_win_32bit.msi
       - Standalone: flashplayer11_2r202_233_win_sa_32bit.exe
       - Uninstaller: uninstall_flashplayer11_2r202_233_win_32bit.exe
Can you please point out the right one? Thanks!

  • Flash player hangs in Firefox. Eats up 50% of CPU

I'm working with flash application. It works in other browsers except for Firefox. In Firefox, after couple of minutes, the application hangs and Flash player eats up 50% of CPU. Firefox becomes unresponsive and stays like that. Neither Firefox nor Flash player crashes. Flash just hangs forever. I had to go to task manager to kill Flash player process.
This doesn't happen when I install a Debug version of Flash player or one of the older versions of Flash players. Is there a known issue with new Flash player?
    I'm using:
    Flash Player 11.5.502.146
    Firefox 18.0.1
    Windows 7 32 bit.

I'm sorry you're going through this.  I suspect you're running into a conflict with our Protected Mode which was introduced in Flash Player 11.4.  Please try the troubleshooting steps outlined in this FAQ:
