Flash survey/quiz

Hi,
I have created a survey with several multipule choice questions using radio buttons. I want the last page of the survey to display results to the user kind of like a Cosmo quiz. like "50% A." "25% B." "25% C." "0% D." I can't find any info on how to do this with Actionscript. Does anyone know of any tutorials/books/websites that can help?

you should store the user's responses in 4 variables that track the number of responses of that type:
var tl:MovieClip=this;
var responseA:Number=0;
var responseB:Number=0;
etc.
then if the userresponse variable has values A,B,C or D use:
tl["response"+userresponse]++;
after each response.
at the end of your quiz, display:
responseA/totalquestions*100"% A";
responseB/totalquestions*100"% B";
etc

Adobe Captivate 6 Survey Quiz?

How to include a survey quiz in my Captivate presentation without having to buy the Cap.dev widget? I've gone on Survey Monkey but they won't allow the survey to show all the answers as a comparative result.
I've got a Learning Style survey (10 questions) where the user chooses each question's answer, and their overall totals will determine if they are a Visual, Auditory, or Kinesthetic learner. For example, if the user chooses mostly answers "A", then he/she is a Visual Learner.
I've tried Flash, HTML, etc. but none of them seem to work well.

Flash CS4 Quiz Template: Help Needed

My organization uses the Flash CS4 quiz template that is included within the eLearning suite. Everything works great. The quiz loads on the LMS, it gives learners' their scores, etc. The issue we're having is after the score is recorded within the LMS.
If a user fails the quiz, the LMS marks the quiz as 'Completed/Failed'. The LMS (Inquisic EX), then, moves the failed quiz into the 'Completed Courses' tab. I understand why it does this because the 'Completed' mark given refers to the learner having gone through all of the pages within the quiz; however, the learner failed the quiz. If the learner goes back into the quiz and passes it the second time around, the LMS continues to state 'Completed/Failed'.
Does anyone know why this would happen? Are there SCORM settings we ought to change within the source code provided by Adobe?

Flash survey

Hi,
I would appreciate some help on this one. I'm using flash to
create a multiple page survey using radiobuttons. There are
typically 4 and 11 radiobuttons grouped together. I have this put
each radiobutton on the stage manually, but wish to do this with
actionscript to have more control.
I have tried to see if someone have created a class that does
this, but with no luck. so, do anyone know how I can create this?
What I'm looking for is a flash object I just can give the
groupname and number of radiobuttons it should contain.

Flash 8 or Flash 2004 - Quiz Random

Hi all, I did my homework and tried to find similar questions
in this forum, but could not find any answer to my problem....
After having worked for weeks to develop a quiz on the
template with 430 drag and drop questions (and 8 hot objects
questions), I realize that choosing Quiz Options "RANDOMIZE" and
"Questions to ask: 5" ruins the Quiz,
I experience that some of the first questions may be right,
but in the following some drag-instances are in wrong positions,
probably instances from former questions covering the
drag-and-drop-instances belonging to the new question.
The quiz workes properly when not using this options. The
problem is that its give no meaning to use many questions, but to
provide them in fixed order :-(.
Other options choosen: Version: Flash Player 8. Action Script
2.0. Compress Movie. HTML: Flash with Scorm 1.2 Tracking [though I
do not need to incorporate the quiz in a LMS, but using Flash Only
did not fix the problem)], Show Result Page.
Does any one in here have some experience on fixing this
problem?

Already uninstalled everything, flash, players 8 and 9, even
a trial of flex.
Still the same problem.
I have 3 scenes:
- scene 1 - preloader based on a simple mask moving over text
(on percentage = 100% jumps to the next scene);
- scene 2 - a logo and a simple animation with some blur
filters;
- scene 3 - the homepage.
The very problem is when I test the movie and click 2 times
"Ctrl+Enter" to simulate download. When I do this, the movie stops
at the beggining of scene 2 showing just the logo and nothing else
for a long time (really long time) till it starts play again to the
next and final scene.
Anybody familiar with this problem?

How do I add a pre-existing flash, interactive quiz to presenter 9.0

currently, we are reviewing Presenter 9.0 as it appears to be the only option to move existing flash CBTS into SCORM for loading into our LMS. The content is not the issue. The "quizzes", for each lesson, are pre-created flash interactive videos(files, whatever...).
I want to incorporate the quiz into the existing Presenter 9.0 imported SWF content before I package everything in Scorm 1.2 I am hoping that I do not have to hop into yet 1,2,3 or more other applications to solve what would be a very easy problem, albeit flash being involved.
Steps....
1) Start Powerpoint.. Import SWF content (existing, interactive) using Presenter plugins..
2) add a SWF quiz that relates to Step 1 content
3) pre-set for SCORM 1.2
4) Package SCORM Content..
Exist Presenter use...

My biggest concern here would be the effectiveness of the Flash Quiz content you are embedding in the presentation. Presenter has its own reporting that will take precedence over an embedded SWF file. For example, if you created a Captivate project with reporting, and then embedded it into a Presenter presentation, the only report you would see would be that the viewer(s) viewed the slide with the Captivate SWF in it. None of the Captivate reporting would be recorded.
For this reason, I suspect that Presenter won't report your quiz content as expected, but hey, you can get a 30-day free trial of Presenter 9, so it is easy to test and validate. Presenter could prove me wrong (it has happened before)!

Survey Quiz Questions in Captivate 7

I have a quiz in Captivate 7. 15 questions are graded. 5 questions are short answer (survey questions) not graded. I want to show the results of the 15 graded questions, then e-mail the survey question results to another user. How do I do this?

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Is this a default question slide or a custom question slide created using standard objects and advanced actions? If it is a default MCQ be careful not to delete objects that are normally available on the master slide for that question, you can make them invisible but deleting (with the exception of some buttons) could lead to weird results. You are using an effect I suppose for the group? Look at the timeline (or better post a screenshot of the timeline): for a default question slide there will be a pausing point (used by the two-step process of that question slide: http://blog.lilybiri.com/question-question-slides-in-captivate) and I suspect that this pause is interrupting your fly-in effect.
Read the blog post about the behavior of question slides please. And it is a good practice not to have the playbar available for question slides. Another intuition tells me that by hitting Play you forced the playhead to pass over the pausing point, in the inactive part of the slide and that is why the playhead continues after submitting.

Hi,
You can open your existing fla's in the latest Flash CC release and convert them into a Canvas fla's and publish. If you have timeline frame scripts(AS2/AS3) then it will be commented and available for reference.

Flash Quiz/Survey help!!!

Hello everyone...this is a desperate cry for help...I am
using Flash's quiz template to create a survey...I disabled the
"weighting" and "feedback" under Component inspector....but now I
just need to change the "control button" to say "submit" and also
to save the user-entered results for the different types of
questions....true/false, multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank to a
text file. Does anyone know how to do this??? I would really
appreciate any help!

Help with Flash Quiz

Using Flash 8 quiz template generate a Quiz,
Then I build a new flash document and insert an empty MC,
copy all the frames from the file generate by quiz template, and
drag this new MC to the timeline.
But it can't work properly.
My purpose is to insert a quiz in another flash file. What
can I do?

Now I loaded the quiz using loadMovie("ff.swf","aa")
And in the first frame of ff.swf I insert actionscript:
this._lockroot=true;
the Drag&Drop question doesn't work, all the other
questions worked, and the results all comes out as 0.

How to create flash quiz based on circling the correct answer?

I am quite new to actionscripting and need to create a flash based quiz.
The user will have to circle the correct answer in the quiz.
I do know of drag and drop function but didn't know how to create circling function.
Please advise how should I get started.

Here is something to wet your appetite. This script creates squares and allows you to draw any shape with the mouse when mouse is down.
It doesn't define what square things are drawn around - this is how lines can be drawn with AS3 in principal. Just place the script on timeline.

Flash Quiz not calculating totals correctly at the end

Hi,
I am working on a Flash XML quiz, that can be found on this
tutorial

I have it just about working except at the end on the summary
screen, the application is supposed to calculate the number right,
the number wrong and the percentage.
I am not sure what I have missed, but I zipped up the .fla
file and the xml file and wanted to see if someone could take a
look. I know the problem isn't with the XML file so it must be in
the AS towards the end in the summary screen section.

the XML file is only storing the questions. For the scoring
calculations I am using three dynamic text boxes with var values of
numOfQuestionsAnsweredCorrectly,numOfQuestionsAnsweredCorrectly,
numOfQuestionsAnsweredIncorrectly
and in the AS I am using
userScore=(numOfQuestionsAnsweredCorrectly*100)/
(numOfQuestionsAnsweredIncorrectly+numOfQuestionsAnsweredCorrectly)
I am following the tutorial to a Tee, so unless there is a
typo or errors w/ the tutorial this should be working.

Creating Hindi quiz in Macromedia Flash 8

I am working on Macromedia Flash 8 Quiz with 30 Questions.(The number of questions may increase in future)
Hindi Language is the National Language of India.
I need to input 30 Hindi Questions into the Macromedia Flash Quiz template.
I am trying to copy and paste the hindi text / questions (or any regional Indian languages in India for that matter) inside the component inspector parameters tab. I could not able to do it. Copy and pasting hindi text is converting to some english characters. So how to put the hindi text into the component inspector for creating hindi quiz in Macromedia Flash 8. What settings needs to be made. Please assist me in doing this.

Hello everybody!
I have the same doubt.
Recently I migrated to Ubuntu, because I did not feel comfortable in using pirated software and I installed the macromedia suite 8 (Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash) with wine.
These softwares have been discontinued and no longer enjoy any assistance, not least because macromedia does not exist.
But the fact that Adobe have bought Macromedia, I think maybe he has rights to the products that were previously the macromedia.
It is impossible I can buy some new versions of Adobe CS6, they are extremely expensive.
Please, I would like someone from Adobe answered my question with clarity and objectivity:
- It's a crime to use a suite of macromedia 8 transferred to a download site with one free key ?
Ubuntu for me has been very poor and unproductive.
If is a crime to use the versions of macromedia 8, I think I'll have to buy a version of windows 7 and buy the software from the Microsoft Expression Studio.
They are very good and very cheap, byt adove is better.

Quiz - Rating scale (survey) Output

Hello again guys
This time i have some trouble with quizes in my project. I thought that it is easy to create survey quiz but...:)
What (or where) is output from rating scale quiz slides?
There are two rating scale slides in my project (each with 5 questions rated 1-5) but there is absolutely no output or output settings that alows me display user answers.
Is it possible to somehow show total sum of points from survey questions?

Well...
its project for people to help them deal with stress.
One part of whole project is this assignment:
There are about 15 questions with 5 answers. Number of answer coresponds with points obtained.
Example:
A) "I usualy sleep 7-8 hours a day" : 1 ("almost always"), 2 ("often"), 3 ("it depends"), 4 ("almost never") to 5 ("never")
B) "I am able to effectively organize my free time" : 1 ("almost always"), 2 ("often"), 3 ("it depends"), 4 ("almost never") to 5 ("never")
.etc
at the end i need to sum points from answers because there are 3 colums with some advices to help user deal with stress acording to total sum of points.
20 – 39 ...blah blah you are fine
40 – 59 ..blah blah get a puppy...
60 – 85 ..blah blah go hang yourself.
..now personaly im somewhere between 95-100 points...
