Flash transition for image slideshow

I have a quick Flash animation that is basically an image slideshow
I need to smooth the transitions between them (for example make them blend into each other)
my way to do it if I followed my intuition would be to select both frames holding the keyframes for two given photos > right click > pick a transition
but that's not possible
Please let me know
thanks

  • Flash Chaching for Images

I am trying to preload images that are used throughout a
flash slideshow. I have a preloader that takes an array of
filenames (imageArray) and uses that to load an image into a movie
clip. Each movie clip has an image, all movie clip images are held
    within one other movieclip.
    So...
    holder_mc.mc0 has an imageArray[0]
    holder_mc.mc1 has an imageArray[1]
    holder_mc.mc2 has an imageArray[2]
    ...and so on.
They load fine into these movie clips, but now I need to know
how I can use these movie clips in another movie clip in the
    animation part.
Right now I am just loading the image into the movie clip,
hoping that the image is cached somewhere in flash and it
automatically pulls it from there instead of download it again. Is
that how it works or not?
    What I'm diong now:
    main_mc.loadMovie(imageArray[0]);
    then later:
    main_mc.loadMovie(imageArray[1]);
    etc...
Is this just redownloading the image? Or is it getting it
from a cache? If it isn't getting it from cache, how can I use the
stored images in the holder_mc clip to load into the main_mc clip
    when I need them?

no, it's not necessary (nor particularly efficient).
yes, you can download them sequentially into the same target
    movieclip.
yes, after intially retrieving the image from a server the
image is thereafter retrieved from the user's cache (unless you do
    something to prevent that).
and no, the images don't need to exist within flash for
retrievals after the first to be made from the cache.

  • Flash Image slideshow help

    Hello,
I am trying to make a image slideshow for my companies new website.
I used the Flash Image Viewer plugin from Dreamweaver, but it doesn't contain the transitional effect desired.
Every tutorial I find talks about advancing the images through an interactive control, I just want the images to change by themselves and do a fade transitional effect between images.
Can anyone please point me to a tutorial that has this w/o the intractive buttons?  I have been looking on the internet for hours and can only find tutorials / example w/ the intractve controls.
Thank You for any positive direction in this.

Hmm... no luck so far.  Thank You though for your suggestion.
I am really "green" to flash and was only confused by the template provided by Flash.
All I need to do is have images fade in and out of each other and then repeat over and over.
I know this isn't too hard.  I found a tutorial that showed how, but my Firefox decided to close and I lost the page and haven't been able to find it since.  Tried the history log, but no luck.
I will keep searchin...I know it's out there.

  • Image slideshow in FCE project - output for a computer monitor

    Hi
I tried using iPhoto to export a QT file of an image slideshow. I thought it'd be a quick and dirty way to get an image slideshow for a short film. Rather too dirty, though. I guess there is heavy compression used, because the image quality is poor.
Also, I'm getting some kind of interlacing issues (flickering). I know I should be viewing on a TV, but this project is for output on a computer display.
I tried download StillLife, but this is also giving me poor quality images. I think of myself as having a fairly good grasp of resolution issues, but I can't quite get my head around what I need to do. Do I have to simply import each JPEG into FCE and add keyframed movement manually? Will this help resolution/output issues?
    Many thanks

.. I tried using iPhoto to export a QT file of an image slideshow....
I would start here to play on the knobs&sliders ..
what were your settings for export? "QT file" => that is many dozends of options of compression, codecs, resolutions, etc. pp ...
the consumer apps FCE and iM are meant for TV display only => reduced res + reduced colors, quality reduced due to interlace (due to TV standards) ...-
a Full Res, h264 encoded qt.mov should display your photos in shining quality ...

  • "Page Flip" transition for slideshow widget

Anyone know if there will be a "page flip" transition for slideshow widget in a future release of Adobe Muse?  I'm trying to build a small magazine in Muse and a page flip transition would really help.

Will something like http://muse.adobe.com/exchange-library/flip-cards work for  your needs?

  • How do I create my own favorite template for DVD slideshows? I used to be able to select this from pulldown menu, but cannot now do so. I am directed straight to templates, which take more memory. I have a large slideshow, and need all the space I can get

First, how do I create my own favorite theme template for DVD slideshows? I used to be able to select this from pulldown menu, but cannot now do so. I am directed straight to already existing themes, which take more memory. I have a large slideshow, and need all the space I can get. I just want to use a picture as my DVD cover, and then insert a slideshow. Also, when I try to burn my 8.5gb double sided slideshow, all that burns is the music. It is a large slideshow, a memorial on the life of my now deceased brother. This means a lot to me and to my family, and I am having so much trouble trying to burn it. I have gone into Project View and selected appropriately. The bar shows I have room to burn this DVD, but it does not burn.  I have burned so many DVDs in the past, but this one just will not burn. I am so confused at this point. I will say this is the first 8.5gb I have attempted to create and burn. My specs list a 7.7gb or 4.7gb as operable....but there are no 7.7gb dvds. I had to purchase 8.5gb. Help? What am I doing wrong? I have spent so much time on this, and just cannot figure it out.

Final Cut is a separate, higher end video editor.  The pro version of iMovie.
Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow.  It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them.  You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version).  Personal preferences showing here.

  • Fading images slideshow

I am looking to create a fading image slideshow to use in Dreamweaver. I created in flash but having problems viewing in internet explorer. Wanted to know if there was an easier way to do this.

    Yes.
Flash is a very bad idea on the web because the world's most popular mobile & tablet devices don't support it.  And for those that do, Flash makes mobile device batteries run down in seconds rather than minues.   So don't use Flash.
Cycle2 is a nice jQuery fading slideshow that's very easy to implement and works in X-browsers.
Simply copy & paste the following code into a new, blank document.  SaveAs test.html.  Change images to your own.
    <!doctype html>

  • Spry Image Slideshow with Filmstrip- Filmstip thumbs loading incorrectly

Hello, I am hoping someone will be able to help me. I loaded the Widget for the Spry Image Slideshow with Filmstrip. After reading several tutorials as that the product did not work correctly, I finally got the corrupted .js fixed (thanks Accustic Gramps for all your posts very helpful when going through looking). First page looks great, now, I put the slideshow on another page and loaded it, but the filmstrip is now loading off placement so the thumbs are all messed up.
    Hoping someone can help me.

  • Wmode messing up flash transitions

    Hope someone can help...
    http://www.ionizedesign.com/compther/index.asp
In order to get the menu to lay on top of the flash movie, I
need to use the wmode=transparent attribute. However, when I add
that attribute, it screws up the timing of the transitions I'm
using between images in IE 6.0. (You can view it in FF to see how
it should work). I'm using the MTC (Mask Transition Component:
    http://flash8components.com/)
    I guess there's 2 options:
    1. Is there any way to get the menu to lay on top of the
flash movie WITHOUT using the wmode attribute?
    2. Anyway to get the flash transitions to work with the wmode
    in IE?
    Thanks
    Rick

    > 1. Is there any way to get the menu to lay on top of the

    > using the wmode attribute?
    Not really .. redesign it
    > 2. Anyway to get the flash transitions to work with the
    wmode in IE?
No .. wmode transparent is incredibly buggy and has been for
    many many
    years.

  • How do i use numbers for image gallery and arrows?

    Hello there,
I'm hoping someone can advise me on the best possible way.
I would like to use numbers to help the user navigate through the image gallery i'm creating and arrows on either side of an image (one image viewed at any one time). I have attached an image of what i'm trying to acheive. I feel like the arrows will help aid the user to navigate and the numbers will inform them on the number of images to view.
I have so far created the site with a template (logo and nav bar) and child pages for: home/about/work/contact.
Hope to hear from someone soon.

With so many pre-built image galleries available to you, there's no reason to re-invent the wheel.

  • Why is 1080i the only one that works for my slideshow.

Well... I'm getting to my breaking point.
    First my system.. Mac Pro 2.66 2x300gb raid 0. x1900 ACD 30
    5gb Ram
I have read many many posts.. but I still need your help.
I have found that the only thing that gives me a marketable slideshow in terms of quality images is to make a slideshow in imovie under 1080i.
The problem with this is that it really really slows my computer down, and I don't want to do this with a slide show of about 150 images per client, and then have wait more for transistions.
    Shouldn't I start a new slideshow in "DV" setting for a 4x3?
I have tried reducing res from 10.2 mp to a 1024x??? settting for images (depending on orientation). All I seem to lose here is a bit of sharpening as I reduce the image resolution, which makes sense if I understand correctly.
So... Where to go from here.
I read the posts.. and have determined that I can use Photo to move (which I have) to make clips and import them into Imovie. Again, a slow process as each clip has to be done seperatly. Is there another way with PTM, because it does render the best Ken burns effect I have seen. Again 150 images is too long to wait to make a slide show of a wedding, not cost effective for me.
    Hope someone can help.

    Anyone??
When I make a movie in 1080 or 720.. it takes alot of resources and slows things down.
Just wondering why choosing those options are the only ones that seem to work
I really need to get it into 4x3 format too.

  • How do I create an orange flash transition effect using Adobe Premiere CS6?

I am trying to create an orange flash transition effect using Adobe Premiere CS6 with my MAC computer.

    Try this:
Add Cross Dissolve, cut and nest
Add a Fast Blur to the nest and tweak as in first screendump
Superimpose orange Color Matte and tweak as in second screendump
Make (fixed) effects into presets for future use.
    Good luck.

  • Spry Image Slideshow does not work in Explorer

My spry image slideshow works fine in Safari and Firefox, but does not work in Explorer.
A small box shows up in IE 8, and absolutely nothing shows up in IE 7.

    Any Suggestions?

How did you get your slideshow to play in Internet Explorer? I'm using the same slideshow on my new website and it plays fine in everything but IE versions. Here's a test page I'm working on... http://4034.sandbox.i3dthemes.net/oceankayakbanzai.html
I looked at the code for your page and didn't notice anything different on mine. But yours works... Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!

  • SPRY Image Slideshow, compatibility problems with IE

Hello, i recently used the Spry image slideshow in my website. All works great in every browser except IE. I could actually get it to work when i changed the DOCTYPE from: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> TO: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN">
    BUT,
that totally skrewed the rest of my content. also i added the meta tag: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" >  and that fixed the slideshow, but again skrewed my content.
Has anyone found a solution? i looked through past discussions but couldnt find one.

i dont think you understood my question, wasnt about body background, but abut the spry image slideshow to work properly in IE
I was not talking about body background, but about having markup that screws up your document when using a browser. Body background just happened to be there. Perhaps you would do well to have a look here http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Flittletreats.org%2F.
I have noticed that you ignored my solution; your document still shows two bodies.
Perhaps I should have mentioned that I tested in IE6 through to IE9 using IETester and the above was the only thing stopping IE from performing properly.
How did you determine that the slideshow was not working correctly in IE and which versions of IE?

  • Spry UI Image Slideshow preview in IE8

Hello, sorry to re-ask a tired question, but I've scoured the forums and can't get  a handle on the answer.
My issue: I have inserted the Spry Image Slideshow 7.1 widget in my dreamweaver (CS5) doc (thank you Widget Browser!), and made the necessary modifications. It shows up perfectly when previewing in Firefox and Opera. In IE8, the images display but in unordered list form only.
Things to note: I have NOT uploaded anything to the server yet, neither docs nor images, so unfortunatley I can't lead you to live view. Also, actually it is 2 slideshow widgets set side by side using a 2 column table. This might sound messy, but it did work in PREVIEW for all other browsers.
