Any Idears where to find it ?
Flemmnig

Just for future reference for anyone with a similar problem..
I figured out the issue was that my wmode was set to transparent
windowless. When using a transparent background for a flash movie,
Flash UI components do not show up. I'm not sure if this is a bug
or not... when I set my wmode back to "window" they came up
fine.

  • URGENT Please help flash 8 components

    I have written a .exe application that has a email submission
    form at the end, the form is built up of flash 8 components. The
    component ids are as follows:
    fname.text;
    femail.text;
    fmessage.text;
    fcountry.text;
    fsubject.text;
    On my submit code i have passed the fields using this method
    fname = fname.text;
    femail = femail.text;
    fmessage = fmessage.text;
    fcountry = fcountry.text;
    fsubject = fsubject.text;
    This is perfect and works first time no problems. My problem
    is becasue the flash .exe never closes the component id's are stuck
    at the last setting which is i.e. fname = fname.text; when the form
    comes round again it doesnt work becasue its stuck at fname =
    fname.text;
    I need to tell the flash program to forget this after i have
    submitted it and return it to fname.text = fname.text;
    Please can you help, i'm pulling hair now and ive got a
    deadline to sort this out :/
    If the swf was on a webpage this wouldnt be a problem becasue
    the swf gets loaded each time the page is refershed, but becasue
    it's a .exe and never gets closed its stuck this way after being
    run first.

    Nope ive tried all sorts
    fname.text = fname.text doesnt work, its becasue fname.text
    no longer exists its now fname, i need to set it back after submit.
    I really need to get this working or i'm dead meat!
    This is my submit code:
    butt_send.onRelease = function() {
    fname = femail.text
    femail = femail.text;
    fmessage = fmessage.text;
    fcountry = fcountry.text;
    fsubject = fsubject.text;
    loadVariablesNum(form1, 0, "POST");
    gotoAndPlay("home");

  • S110: what purpose does the Flash white balance setting serve?

    I assume if you're using the flash for a shot then the camera knows it, so why would you have to set it in the WB menu.  If you don't need to set it, what's it for?  When I shoot with flash and WB set to Auto, everything comes out fine (except when zooming; see a separate post ont hat nearby).  Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    If you are shooting underexposed in order to kill all the ambient light, leaving only the flash light to show in the picture, then you need this. On AUTO WB the camera would have still been thinking the background/ambient light color is relevant so it would give you a bad color.
    That is something "strobists" in particular do a lot.

  • Flash Player audio setting in Win'7 Volume Control

    OS is Win'7, up to date.  Flash Player is 11.4.  Browsers Firefox 15.0.1, Chrome 22, IE 9.  When playing a video on a website, the Flash Player volume setting in Volume Control (Windows Mixer) is set to the maximum, same as my speaker volume.  How can I permanently set Flash Player's volume to a setting lower than that of my speakers?

    This is a known issue in Firefox and Flash Player 11.3 or higher, but our testing (and I just personally re-tested it on my Win7 machine to double-check) indicates that this works as expected in Chrome and Internet Explorer.
    There's a public bug tracking the Firefox issue here, and we have a corresponding internal bug assigned to an engineer for investigation:
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/#bug=3210602
    1.) Use Chrome or Internet Explorer with the latest Flash Player from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
    2.) Revert to the most recent version of Flash Player 10.3 (Currently 10.3.183.25), which you can download here:
         http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
         Before reverting, you'll need to uninstall the current version of Flash Player first:
         http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
    If you *are* having the same problems with Chrome or MSIE, can you give me a clear, step-by-step description of how to reproduce the issue?  It's possible that we're doing something differently, or there's another component like audio drivers in-play.
    Thanks!

  • Wireframe Components list smaller than Flash Builder Components list?

    Hi All,
    I noticed that in Flash Catalyst the WIREFRAME COMPONENTS tab only has a limited set of components (Button, Checkbox, Data List, HScrollbar, HSlider, Radio Button, Text Input, Toggle Button, VScrollbar, VSlider). Flash Builder, on the other hand, has other components not in this list (Combo Box, Color Picker, Progress Bar, Tab Bar, etc).
    For all the components in FB not in the wireframe list of FC, is the designer/developer supposed to add custom components in the Library tab of FC? Will Adobe add more to the list of wireframe components in future FC releases?
    Thanks for any inputs!

    Hey FutureSplasher,
    You're right, the Flash Catalyst Wireframe Components list is a subset of the Spark component set exposed in Flash Builder.
    In Catalyst we expose special tooling, properties, and experience around each spark component.
    It is definitely our intent moving forward to continue to expose more and more Spark components, but as opposed to Builder each component we add requires some special work around exposing the user experience of working with, creating and manipulating that component.
    I absolutely encourage you to leverage the fxpl (library) workflows to create and import your own components (and share with other Catalyst friends online if you feel so inclined ).
    In the meantime, if you have specific high priority component requests, we'd love all the feedback we can get.  Feel free to post a list of a couple high priority components here, or post them to the ideas site so we can get other users voting for them: http://ideas.adobe.com/flashcatalyst
    Thanks for posting!

  • Flash v2 components not supported in Director?!

    This official document that came with Director 10.1.1, here
    at
    http://www.adobe.com/support/director/flash_8_asset_xtra.pdf
    , states:
    "The following Flash Player 8 features are not supported in
    the Flash Asset Xtra for Flash
    Player 8.
    ■ Version 2 components
    ■ Accessibility code
    ■ ExternalInterface class"
    Version 2 components?!!? This renders all the user interface
    components of Flash useless?! And also all of Director's built-in
    Flash components too?!?
    Now I've been having major reliability issues with some v2
    components within a Flash asset (in particular, the Tree component
    and ComboBo when setting the rowCount property). I've been getting
    projector freezes on many winXP machines, so there may be some
    truth to this.
    Anybody else know more?

  • Flash IDE Components in Flex 3 Design Mode. Can they be visible there?

    Hi,
    Im exploring Flex to get a grasp on its concepts and am currently looking into building components in the Flash IDE. Though i guess its likely that when you're more familiar with Flex you build your components in Flex, like said Im exploring its concepts and like to know where and how the Flash IDE fits in its workflow.
    I made a simple Flex Component in the Flex IDE, which shows up fine when I run the Flex project. But it does not show in Flex Design Mode.
    I have exported the component from Flash as an SWC and added the SWC to the Flex library path. The symbol in the Flash IDE extends UIMovieClip. Now I read in 'Using Adobe FlexBuilder 3' (p.67) that the Flex Components panel only lists visible components, according to the documentation 'components that extend UIComponent'.
    Note that my question is about being visible on the stage in Design Mode, not in the component panel. As UIMovieClip doesnt inherit from UIComponent (and the UIComponent class doesnt seem to be available in the Flash IDE), is this also the cause that the Flash IDE component is not visible on the Flex stage in Design Mode?
    Can someone confirm, or deny this?
    Regards,
    Marcel

    Hi Latha,
    thanks for your feedback. Reading it back though, Im still not sure whether Flex components build in the Flash IDE (using the Flex Component Kit for Flash CS3) can be visible in Flex 3 Design Mode.Maybe you can be a bit more specific and save a lot of Flex beginners a lot of headaches.
    I understand that MXML components can be used in Design Mode. I also understand that if your component is AS you have to create a Library and link that to your project to make them visible in Design Mode. I also understand that Flash Builder 4 does "support rendering of UIMovieClip objects which are in library (swc) and added to the project build path"
    This actually doesnt answer my question really. Does this mean there is no way to render Flex components build in the Flash IDE (using the Flex Component Kit for Flash CS3)  in Flex 3 Design Mode?
    Regards,
    Marcel

  • Web Flash Gallery: Problem setting Large Images size

    When using the Lightroom Flash Gallery I am not able to change the size of the Large Images (Web | Appearance | Large Images | Size). When I set the size to Medium or Small, the large images always ends up with the same size as when set to Large. Only when setting the size to Extra Large there is a slight change in size.
    How can I change the Large Images size to Medium and Small?

    This is a User to User forum not official Adobe support. Yes, Adobe staff may participate from time to time, but not often enough that you can depend on them reading your post. Therefore, I suggest that you support a bug report using the facilities provided at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

  • Flash, Android & Emulator set up

    I was ecstatic when I learned that flash cs5 would be able to compile android applications.
    However when I followed the steps in Lee Brimelow's video tutorial (http://www.gotoandlearn.com/play.php?id =123) I ran into several problems. This link from the video http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/air2/
    android/ sends me to a this page http://www.adobe.com/products/air/ so i ran into that problem right off the bat. But my seconded problem  is I lack an android phone. I can borrow a phone to test with but this  won't do for general testing and debugging. I would like to use the  emulator but I have no clue as to how to set it up.

    This is not a trivial process.
    Start by downloading the Android SDK here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html

  • Flash Stage fps setting

    I'm trying to get a sfw to play smoothly on the web. If I encode a F4V at 30 fps, do I also need to set the fps of the Flash stage to 30 fps? Or can the stage fps be set at 15 fps, which I have read is better for the web.

    the main swf's fps won't have on impact on the encoded flv's playback.

  • Installing Flash Exchange components

    I installed some new components with the Adobe Extension
    Manager. Installer tells me everything is installed succesfully.
    But after I restart Flash and look in the components panel I only
    see the standard installed components for CS3. The new ones are not
    visible in the components panel. Though it's also possible to cut
    and paste the new components between fla's you'll will miss basic
    features, like skin-editing or the like.
    I already tried installing 4 new components this way that
    should be compatible with CS3.
    Can somebody tell me what goes wrong here?
    I use CS3 on OSX Leopard. Everything is up to date.

    Just solved the problem myself. I contacted Adobe on this
    first but they couldn't give me an answer because exchange is
    third-party software. Anyhow. Problem is that extension manager
    installs the components and additional files in
    user/library/apllication support/adobe/flashCS3/en/... But because
    I'm a Dutchy my application or system language is not "en" but "nl"
    (Netherlands). So I manually dragged al installed files out of the
    en-folder/subfolders into the nl-folder/subfolders, et voila.
    Everythings visible now in my Dutch version of Flash CS3.
    If anyone has the same problem make sure you don't overwrite
    folders with folders. Only add the ones with different names. Drag
    the NEW subfolders and/or NEW files into the corresponding folders
    within your language.
    Thanks Henk

  • Aggregator - Flash Player version setting

    Aggregator seems to require the use of Flash 10. I can't find a setting to change that.
    Is there a reason it requires Flash 10, or was the option to change it just overlooked in the design?
    Is there any way to change it to allow Flash 8 or 9?

    Hello,
    I have the same problem when publishing an aggregator.
    Did you find a solution to this issue ?
    Is there a way to publish an Aggregator with Flash 8 (AS2) ?
    Thank you

  • Can't a child override font components set in parent's style?

    I set a default font for my container at its top level. If I want a child to show in, say, a larger point size, I ought to be able to put a style on the child only specifying the size, not the whole font description, right? For example,
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <?import javafx.scene.control.Label?>
    <?import javafx.scene.layout.VBox?>
    <VBox xmlns:fx="http://javafx.com/fxml" style="-fx-font: Bold 24 Serif;">
      <Label text="Normal size"/>
      <Label text="Large size" style="-fx-font-size: 48pt;"/>
    </VBox>The two labels are indeed bold and in the "Serif" family, but they're both 24-point -- the second label's -fx-font-style is being ignored. I've tried variations on this using style sheets, with the same outcome. What am I doing wrong?

    This is a bug. I don't have the number handy. Font styling is the bane of my existence.

  • Flash file components

    Hello,
    After affects has a feature where you can export a document with all the files associated in your scene. Is that possible (or something like it) in Flash CC?
    Thanks in advance

    The good ole collect files function.
    Flash is a different beast. At best you can export a XFL which is a FLA converted to an XML file which has all the libraries contents in subfolders, rather than embedded in the FLA. But I anticipate you mean Flash would actually recognize externally loaded assets and bundle the FLA together with anything external that is also loaded.
    No, there's no 'Project' aspect of Flash CC that can do that for you.
    There may be an extension or JSFL but it's highly unlikely it will be foolproof. There are too many situations where external assets are loaded in dynamic ways (such as generating a filename based on concatenating strings, etc etc) that just won't work.
