Flash Video Buffer Detect

I'm making standalone flash cd presentation In Flash 8 which
includes Flash
video. Flash video is displayed with Media - Player 6 - 7
component
"Display" called "myDisplay". I've made buttons on stage
which when pressed
make Flash video to go to a specific time (frame) using the:
_root.myDisplay.play(X); where X is number.
This method activated from cd (or form hard drive) is
painfully SLOW if the
jump time is closer to the end of the Flash video because the
flash is
buffering all the frames prior to the frame which is jumped
to: so if i go
to the end of the movie, flash buffers all previous fames!
How can i display (or retrieve) information from the
myDisplay if the Flash
Video is in buffer mode? Has it something to do with
"scrubbing" or
"playheadChange" actions?
Thanks
Luka

f I take the "detect" off of the publish parameters
everything works fine in the .FLV
Add the detect, the sound stays but no video.
Using Mac, Flash Pro 8.
Check for Flash version 6 or 7, video is history.
What's going on, I never had this problem before?

  • Flash video performance poor in Firefox 3 and other newer Gecko-based browsers; fails to detect mouse movement in full-s

    Regardless of configuration, I have found Flash video
    performance on Firefox 3 to be severely sub-par. Numerous visual
    lags occur throughout a typical Youtube video as it cannot seem to
    manage to maintain a steady frame rate. When in full-screen, mouse
    movement is not detected, forcing me to click in a full-screen
    Vimeo video in order to display its controls when I should have
    only needed to move the mouse. I was informed that the technical
    explanation for this is that Flash isn't triggering MouseEvents
    other than MouseEVENT.CLICK.
    In my tests, this behavior also occurred in Flashplayers 9
    and 10 as well as with recent versions of other browsers that also
    use the Gecko rendering engine, namely Camino, Flock and Songbird,
    but not in Firefox 2. I was told by a Mozilla employee that this
    issue can only be solved by Adobe.
    This has forced me to use the Safari browser as my only
    available work-around. I implore that these issues get resolved as
    quickly as possible.

    guys, im exactly experience the same issue here.. any
    solution guys? tks in advantage..

  • Firefox crashes whenever a Flash video advertisement opens in Yahoo! Mail. No virus detected. Incompatability?

    Whenever I access Yahoo! Mail, the page opens normally. When the Flash Video advertisement starts, about halfway through or sooner, it stops and the entire window freezes. I wait up to two minutes and still nothing happens. I end up having to use Cntrl+Alt+Delete to force it to shut down. After repeating the process several times, I reinstall the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player and try again. No change. Virus scan shows green across the board. I don't know what to do at this point.

  • Flash Video Cue Points don't work

    I used the template sample from Adobe named :Flash video
    template: Showcase website for personal video...I followed all the
    steps sugested. I used Flash Video Encoder, created the cue points,
    worte down the location of those cue points, which I wrote exactly
    in the Settings.XML file for each chapter....etc. I guarantee you
    that I did it all as sugested...In fact several months ago, it
    worked for another project and another videos that I had.
    But this time, when I am testing it, the video appears in the
    screen all right but when I select a chapter for the section of

    you don't need a cuepoint to detect the end of your video.  use:
    var lo:Object = {};
    lo.complete = function(eObj:Object):Void {
    next_btn._visible=true;
    flv_pb.addEventListener("complete", lo);   // <- use the instance name of your flvpb component

  • Flash video crashes on multiple browsers

    Hi all,
    My specs:
    eMachines notebook
    Intel Core i3 CPU 2GB RAM
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Browsers Installed IE8, Firefox 4 and Chrome
    AVG Free Edition installed
    Shockwave Flash 10.3.181.4 installed for FF
    Graphics Driver Intel HD Graphics Driver version 8.15.10.2119
    I'm accessing the internet through wireless internet
    I have been having a problem where playing flash video has crashed all the browsers I have installed. This issue has happened on multiple websites including Youtube and BBC iPlayer. It started happening out of the blue on 25th May 2011. There doesn't appear to be any microsoft updates added at that time and I did not install any new software on that day.
    In Firefox the issue happens 100% of the time. After watching for a few minutes the video starts to buffer and then the browser completely freezes up before the frame greys out and the option to send crash report appears. When I reload the page the same thing happens again. Sometimes the audio will start to repeat itself with a delay of a few seconds before crashing.
    In Chrome, the same thing happens except the built in plug in becomes unresponsive and the browser then freezes and reports the error.
    IE crashes too although I hardly ever use it to be honest.
    The things I have tried to fix this so far (without success) have been:
    Manually uninstall all Adobe products
    Uninstall all browsers
    Delete folders and reg entries for flash and delete folders for browsers
    Reinstall software and flash
    Run Malwarebytes (no warnings or bad files).
    Run a registry cleaner. Nothing reported that seemed to be relevant to Flash or media playback.
    Uninstall Flash
    Revert back to Flash 10.2 (I actually noticed a slight improvement when using  10.2 but cannot access embedded video in Facebook etc so wasn't a viable option for me).
    Disable AVG and try playback
    Unistall AVG and try playback
    Uninstall AVG and Windows Firewall and try playback
    Check for new video driver updated (there were none)
    Untick Enable hardware Acceleration
    Allow flash to store content in Global Settings
    I have not done a system restore and do not really want to do that if possible.
    The only other thing I have noticed is that it has been difficult to install exe files from the web since this issue started (when trying to reinstall browsers etc). Windows was corrupting the installers for chrome and firefox as well as the Malware Bytes.
    I have spent almost 12 hours of my life now googling and trying out different conditions to get this working and it really has me flummoxed! I really hope a kind samaritan can help me with some advice here. Thanks K

    Hi,  You may want to go to this site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/. Right click on the Flash logo, Settings,
    then UNcheck the hardware acceleration in Display Settings.
    Then make sure that in IE you have the Security Setting for the Internet Zone set to Medium.
    Hope that helps,

  • Dear All, I can't play flash videos from any web site through firefox because it freezes but when i run firefox as administrator then it works fine (But Google Chrome Plays all videos normally.) . I am using Windows 7 & Firefox 7.0.1. Please help

    Dear All,
    Firefox hangs when i try to play flash videos from any site but when i run firefox as administrator it works fine. (but Google Chrome, Opera & I.E9 Plays videos without running as administrator.) I am using Windows 7 & Firefox 7.0.1. Please help.

    A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Problems with Flash video streaming in any Browser (Windows 8.1)

    Hello.
    Since maybe the last Chrome update (to version 42.0.2311.90 m - I tried both 32 and 64 bits versions) or some Windows 8.1 updates (I don't know for sure), flash videos don't even start to buffer - they only play after the full content is downloaded (or loaded in the site's player) . So, If I try to watch a video from a Flash Player based interface (like Dailymotion, or Vimeo), I have no streaming, and I have to wait a long time, watching a "1%" or a load wheel until the full content is available to watch.
    This is happening with all browsers, not only Chrome (IE and Firefox too). I tried to update flash player (first, version 17,0,0,169 and then tried the beta, the one released April 14, 2015). No difference at all. So, I think this might be a problem with the flash player itself, or with some Windows settings.
    So, lets go to the facts:
    - That happened suddenly for no apparent reason - one day it was working, and on the other day it wasn't;
    - I have the latest versions of all browsers I use (Chrome, IE and Firefox);
    - My Flash Player version is, currently, the latest version;
    - I tried old Flash Player versions. didn't work;
    - This is not happening with HTML5 video players, like Youtube, so i think it's not a codec problem;
    - I have the latest nVidia graphics driver. And it was happening even before I update the driver (I have a GeForce GTX 770);
    - I tried disabling the hardware acceleration on Flash settings, nothing happened;
    - I use default Windows Firewall and Defender. Tried to disable firewall, nothing happened;
    - I had searched all over the internet for the answer, but I can't find it. I already did all what the troubleshoot pages from Adobe said to do;
    - My internet connection is fine. It's a fast connection, and It's on wireless. I have several PCs connected to this network and flash videos work fine with them, only in this specific machine isn't;
    - I tried uninstall flash player and install again several times, with several different versions. Didn't work;
    - Tried disable different versions of flash player on Chrome too, nothing happened.
    The thing is, I can imagine that this might not be only a flash player problem, but since it's the only plugin problem I have, I thought that you might have the answer.
    Thank you.

    Please work through the video troubleshooting guide.

    If you're still stuck, please follow the directions in the guide on providing the dxdiag report and additional information about what you tested and saw.

  • Flash video image problem with newest nVidia driver

    I've got a very weird display error since the last update. Basically, whenever I play flash video and afterwards close the browser (chromium), any purely black surfaces will display the full flash player image. The effect is only visible in the "first" window of a xmonad tab, that means if I cycle the window positions it will be in a different window. The others are not affected. When I restart X, I can see the flash video image flashing up shortly on the black screen. Restarting X fixes the issue. I cannot take any screenshot of the problem because the error is NOT visible on the screenshot. Therefore I suspect that some frame buffer used for the flash player is not getting cleared properly after exiting the browser, but it's really little more than a wild guess.
    As there are multiple components involved, I'm at a loss of where this might be coming from. I hope someone might be able to shed some light on this situation. Please post here if you have the same problem or have any idea why this happens!
    My setup:
    -nvidia 260.19.36-2
    -flashplugin 10.2.152.27-1
    -chromium 9.0.597.94-1
    -xmonad 0.9.2-1
    -xmonad-contrib 0.9.2-1

    if you asking about a bug reported on arch linux bugtracker, then you are doing it the wrong way.
    flash and nvidia are closed source, we can't do anything. A better place is to submit bugs to nvidia and adobe.
    Now i see that nvidia 270.26 was released. Maybe you want to check that out:

    Using a flash video object in Flash 9 via netStream off my

  • Problem inserting Flash video into DW CS3 template

    I would like to insert some flash video into an editable
    region inside a DW CS3 template. The template I am using seems to
    work for literally hundreds of other pages I have made (none of
    which, incidentally, have any media of any kind in them).
    I have created the template and then an editable region and
    now want to insert the flash video in that editable region. All
    goes well until I hit the OK button. then I get this error--Making
    this change would require changing code that is locked by a
    template or translator The change will be discarded.
    Can anyone suggest how I might over come this error??
    Thx.
    Jane

    The problem is the detection option in the video insertion
    dialog. If you
    disable that option, you will not get the error.
    This is a problem because the detection routine requires a
    modification to
    the <body> tag (insertion of an onload event) which you
    cannot easily do in
    a template child page.
    If you really must have the detection, then you can copy and
    past the load
    call from a dummy (non-templated) page on which you have also
    done the same
    insertion. Post back with that page's body tag code, and I'll
    show you
    how....

  • Help inserting a flash video into my web page

    Hello!
    I'd love some help inserting a flash video into my web page. My web page is hosted by Viviti, templated, and edited online. I can add html to it, and I have the html source for my flash video. I also have uploaded the flash file to the server. Since I am very html illiterate, though, I need some help rewriting the html script so it can be published. There are two problems- firstly, no 'headers' or 'body' allowed in the script- these are already a part of the template. Secondly, I don't know how to rewrite it to refer to the uploaded files. It's also imperative that the full screen mode functions. I've pasted the source code for the flash video here. Please help!!!
    Thanks!

    What you basically need to do is copy the sections of content from the code you show into the template (assuming the template already provides the <head> and <body> sections of the page.  So in the head section of what you show, take everything starting with...
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    all the way down thru...
    </script>
    , inclusive (in the head section only), and paste that into the head section of your template.
    Similarly, take everything that lies between the <body> ... </body> tags (exclusive of the body tags) and paste it into the body section of your template wherever you plan to display the Flash file.

  • Need Help with Flash Video

    Hi, I have a template set up for a site with editable regions
    for text. I have been trying to insert Flash Video Content, and
    once I complete entering it in the popup window with settings, etc.
    I get the following message "Making this change would required
    changing code that is locked by a template or translator. The
    change will be discarded." When I hit ok it disappears and the
    video and code associated are nowhere on my page. What am I doing
    wrong? Is there a setting to change in CSS templates to allow one
    to insert Flash video?
    Thanks for any help!

    Also, you need to DISABLE the Flash detection when you insert
    the video.
    This is to prevent the insertion process from trying to write
    that detection
    call into the body tag of the child page, which is locked.

  • Buffering Problem with Flash Videos

    We are having problems with the buffering of newly published FLASH videos (rendered using Premiere/Flash CS6 and using Windows 8 and explorer/firefox/chorme).   Non-Flash Videos appear to buffer fine.
    An example of this problem can be seen at http://healthwatchusa.org/HWUSA-Presentations-Testimony/20130215-KY-House/20130214-kavanag h.htm

    1.Default of bufferTime is 0.1 seconds. Try to set the value higher and see if that solves your problem.
    2.If you set your component to autoplay, you could get rid of it and start the player if the VideoEvent.READY is fired
    3.If you have any code inside your swf that tries to communicate with other domains you should set the "allowScriptAccess" value inside your html container from "sameDomain" to "always"

  • Why would flash only buffer for 5 seconds on espn following ads?

    I'm having an issue with flash video playback on espn.com. Ads will play and the the video will buffer and play for only 5 seconds exactly. Sound and video are fine in the ad. This happens for me on chrome, firefox and safari. I uninstalled and reinstalled flash with no effect. Local storage setting are fine (and I tried clearing them as well. Other videos with ads play fine on other sites, it seems to be espn.com specifically. I'm running Yosemite 10.10 and flash NPAPI Plug-in version 16.0.0.257. Any thoughts? I need help!

    If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

  • Flash videos only play for about 2-5 seconds

    Ever since I've had to restore my whole computer, (due to sound and airport card problems which are still unresolved) any flash video such as youtube videos or any others will only play for 5 seconds (yes I still care about videos playing even though my sound is gone) and i've re-downloaded the flash player from adobe and now downloaded again the safari 3 beta, and it still won't work. Same thing on Firefox. Any ideas?

    It's probably the new 'taste filter' trying to keep you from emberrasing yourself in public. Try playing them when you're alone. If it detects no one else is in the room, it may allow you to view them.
    Seriously... Do they play in iTunes on your computer? If they're in your iTunes library, un-sync them from the phone, then sync them back.
