Flash video players on separate webpages

I tried desperately to upload multiple videos with quicktime player,  then I decided to return to the tried and true flv. format and purchased a flv. an xml video player component.  Everything works fine and I uploaded it to my webpage index.3  It works great.
Then I decided to put other videos on the second page of my webpage index.4 BUT the videos from index.3 are playing on index.4.  I tried to change the swf files to swf and swf1 so that they would not overlap each other BUT I think the problem is the content folder for the video player it has a data.xml folder for each video player.  I put all of the images for both video players in the same image folder and I put all of the video for each of the video players in the same video folder because I didn't think I could have TWO image folders and TWO video folders uploaded to the same webpage with the same names.
Then with two video players (its actually the same video player I'm using on two different html pages)  I have an:
ro  file
a videoPlayer.as
swfobject file
gs file
Can I use these same files for both video players when I upload them to the internet?  If not do I rename the files
ro1
videoplayer1.as
swfobject1
gs file
Both video players work when they are on the internet, the problem is that the flv video from index.3 is playing on index.4.  All of the flv videos have different names.
I would appreciate any help I can get.  Thank you.

What is an ro file and a gs file? I'm guessing that you are using a third party flv player and not the player that comes with Flash. In any case an flv player, original issue or not, will play any .flv file that you throw at it, usually. The file to be played can be hard coded into the player or, the player may use an external text or .xml file to tell it what .flv file to use. This information may also be in a variable that the swfobject.js file reads. The videoPlayer.as file is an external actionscript file that will be used by the flash player file. The name of the .flv file may also be hidden in there.
So it's difficult to know which or how many of these files need to be unique to each of the html pages.

  • Flash video players never load!

    After the last update, I am now unable to load any streaming video from sites that use flash players (like youtube.com). The player shows up, but it always says "loading" in the picture and never loads. I re-installed flash and repaired permissions. Any other suggestions?

    This is in some ways comforting to hear... i've been going MAD with this same problem At least I'm not alone, not that I would wish madness on anyone...
    Have you come up with any solution!?
    I'm running 10.4.6, QT7.1.1, Flash 8, and this happens on both Firefox & Safari, in all user accounts.
    The Symptom: Any web page with any kind of flash included (surprisingly many, noticing now that they don't load) leaves an empty space where the flash should be.
    I have tried everything I know... and even stuff that I dug up in the 'dark side' of the internet (... skip the Voodoo dolls and snake oil...) I've rebooted, fixed permissions, reinstalled/upgraded everything seemingly related (no full format/install though... that solution is for windoze)
    I've been working on a mac for my entire life, and this is quite literally the 2nd time I've ever posted with a problem. The first issue? When Flash didn't produce sound! Garage Band fixed that one... but no luck this time. None of my previous research/experience has helped me, so I now turn to the Mac community.
    PLEASE HELP!!
    Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer wisdom.

  • Problem Inserting Flash Video (flv) File into Site

    Hi -
    I'm having problems inserting a Flash Video (.flv) into my webpage.  I'm using Dreamweaver 8.
    I'm going to: Insert -  Media - Flash Video, browsing to the .flv file that's in my local site folder, entering the settings.
    In Dreamweaver, there's a big gray box w/ flv icon in the middle.  But when I go to preview, the screen is empty, no video.
    I'm creating the .flv file w/ Screen Mimic (a screen capture recording software).  This could be a problem w/ the Screen Mimic file because I have no problem inserting other flv files supplied to me by others.  This is the first video that I've made that I'm trying to insert.
    If anyone has any suggestions, I would be most appreciative.
    thanks!
    Stacey Stanley

    This could be a problem w/ the Screen Mimic file because I have no problem inserting other flv files supplied to me by others.
    That would my guess too. Here are few other things to consider:
    1)  Does your FLV filename contain any spaces or special characters?  If so, rename it without spaces as these can cause problems.
    2)  Output Screen Mimic project to a QuickTime MOV file.  Then use Adobe Flash Encoder to convert the MOV to FLV.
    3)  When you tested your page, was it a live page on remote server?  Did you upload the page and all supporting files to server (Scripts folder, SWF, FLV...)?

  • [RANT]Flash video playback

    Full screen flash video playback is much smoother in my virtualized Windows XP(qemu-kvm) compared to my native Arch setup(Radeon 4350, open ati drivers). This is flipping crazy. Why Adobe, why!?

    It's pretty much universally accepted that this is Adobe's fault for not putting enough of an effort into Flash for Linux. I with that agree to a large extent - for a start they need to enable hardware acceleration as a top priority. I am running an Nvidia ION on an Atom 330 with x64; now, this thing should be able to play fullscreen SD video regardless, hardware acceleration or not - yet fullscreen flash still kills it, which is a real disappointment and the only think that sometimes makes me wish I had taken the windows 7 option (and I've been using Arch for over 6 years!)
    That said, I don't think it is fair to put all the blame in Adobes court. The writers of flash video players have to do some answering too. For example, here in the UK the BBC iplayer plays fine in full screen for me - nice and smooth, while the Channel 4 player is unwatchable. Likewise for lots of flash video on the Internet, some are good and some are bad - all Adobes fault? I think not (although I'll give then 80% of the blame).
    Here's is a great hack as a workaround though... Ignore conventional wisdom, enable composite extensions and install compiz-complete. Once you have it up and running enable the 'Zoom Desktop' plugin. Now you can draw a window around your in-browser video and Compiz will magically zoom it to full screen, and it will remain completely smooth (this is sort of a hardware acceleration hack I suppose!).
    The down side is that you cannot interact with the player while it is zoomed in, but it removes the problem of slow video completely.
    Score!
    Dan.

  • Problem with Flash video in webpage

    I've encoded a number of videos in the FLV format(using both
    Flash Video encoder and Quicktime), using standard preset settings,
    inserted in webpage using dreamweaver standard - Insert Media -
    Flash Video. When I try to play the videos, online or testing in
    browser, the video does not play the whole way through. It'll play
    15 sec into the video and then stop, although it seems to have some
    of the rest of the video if you play around with the controller.
    I've looked on the Flash encoding forum (other people have the same
    problem) and looked on the site for more info but cannot find
    any.

    Have you checked to see if the FLV is the same size on the
    server as your
    local copy?

  • My Flash Video is not working in my webpage

    Could you please tell me what I am doing wrong?
    I have dreamweaver CS3
    I did use the Media option to insert the Flash Video content in my web page. When viewed in dreamweaver design window I can see the box, if I try to preview it http://www.stmarksavalon.org.au/public_html/pages/resources/TMPdwowk3qayn.php displays a 404 error.
    I did upload to the host the .php and related files and try different  browsers and does not display even the white space  where the video means to appear
    The original video format was MP4 I did converted it to FLV using the free software at www.dvdvideosoft.com
    I did upload the encoded Flash Video (FLV) and the related files and the webpage

    Hi Melanie,
    what I saw first is this:
    That means. your *.flv-file is in your DW, ok, BUT, ist it on your server?
    And are you really sure, that you did all the required DW-steps? In order you could control this I'll try to describe in detail from the beginning (translated from my German DW):
    Create a really new subdirectory (not absolutely necessary, only to see/control the steps).
    Create a new html/php-file.
    Work in designMode --> Insert Flash-Video.
    Search/browse ---> yourFLV.flv
    Skin: Halo Skin 3 (min. width 280) ( it was my choice)
    width 640 ( it's my choice)
    height 480 ( it's my choice)
    I clicked all the boxes
    ---> And now away with all these files below (produced from DW) to your server.
    Best you have a look with WIN-Explorer into your directory, to see all the files DW has created in your subdirectory and don't forget one):
    YourFlv.flv
    YourFlv.htm (or YourFlv.php)
    Clear_Skin_1.swf (my choice)
    FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf
    Could it be, that there is only the "FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" on your server?

  • Is it possible to save a Flash video from a webpage?

    So you can't right / ctrl click and save as, but is there any other way of saving Flash videos from webpages? Or would that conflict with what Flash was designed to do? (I'm thinking that perhaps publishers want to control and monitor viewing of their content, rather than release it for uncontrolled redistribution. Fair enough.)
    As someone looking at getting into publishing Flash content, is there any way for me to enable viewers to download content? I haven't got to the Publishing for Web chapter in my Flash book yet, so maybe I'll learn all about this soon enough...
    ...though any input would be appreciated.

    Yay it worked after a bit of trial and effort (was holding buttons Dow too long).  Thanks so much for your help

  • Adobe Flash and Flash based Video Players and the ps command

    OK, I have two v20z servers. I just reinstalled Solaris 08/07 on both of them. These are both Sunray servers. One of the servers is fully patched and has SRSS 4.0 installed and serving Sunrays just nicely. I just finished installing Solaris on the 2nd server.
    On the first one I'm not sure what whacked things, the patches or SRSS
    If I go to a site with a flash based video player like youtube, Firefox or Mozilla will freeze untill the video is fully streamed.
    Also on this server the "ps" command is super slow. I like to do ps -efa|grep whatever to find processes. This unbearably slow on this 1st server.
    On the 2nd server I haven't yet patched it or installed SRSS. I think though it's the patches and not SRSS
    On this server the Flash 7 that comes preinstalled works fine on streaming videos. It also works fine with Flash version 9,0,47,0. I even copied the 9,0,47,0 version of flash from the server that where flash is freezing, so it's not flash that is the problem I don't think.
    Normal flash animations work fine, it's just flash based streaming video players.
    Something after patching seems to have done this
    Anyone else have a really slow ps and flash that freezes the browser while watching videos?

    *** BUMP ***
    Really? No one else has experienced this? I can easily recreate the issue, but can't find any fix.

  • Firefox5 is not showing BBC iPlayer Video & Radio Other browsers are all fine(Safari,IE,Chrome) The iPlayer webpage is all there but the flash video player is black. The OS is XPpro.

    Firefox5 is not showing BBC iPlayer Video & Radio.
    Other browsers are all fine(Safari,IE,Chrome)
    The iPlayer webpage is all there but the flash video player is black. The OS is MS Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP3.

    Also, when the flash video does not show up it displays the error that I do not have the current flash player. The problem is that I do have the current flash player that actually plays flash from another section of the website.
    Forgot to add that earlier.

  • How to play flash video for 40 secs and then display webpage automatically?

    I have made a webpage, i want to show a flash video for 40 seconds when the page is opened. Then the Flash video should dissapear and the web page shall open. How should i do this?

    Hi
    This would require the use of actionscript placed inside the flash video, which would then redirect to the main site after the required time.
    (to find out how to do this you would be better advised in the flash forum - http://forums.adobe.com/community/flash/flash_general).

  • Middle click opens a separate window with flash video

    I run Win7 64bit, and have just updated to FireFox 28.0
    Now when I use middle (mouse wheel) click to open a link as a new tab in the background, for some reason a flash video window opens up externally to Firefox in the top left corner of my screen, which I have to close. ITS REALLY annoying.... Any ideas for a fix guys?
    I can add screen shots or a screen recording if it helps and someone tells me how to attach them to this post.
    Many thanks
    Chris

    On the Add-ons page, look in the Extensions category; Safe Mode allows Plugins to run, so the problem isn't a plugin.
    Another thought: Safe Mode deactivates Firefox's use of hardware acceleration. Although I've never heard of this particular glitch, certainly odd graphical behavior can occur when Firefox is not completely compatible with your graphics card drivers. This feature can be separately disabled, so you might want to try that first if you have a lot of extensions.
    orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
    On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    This will kick in after you exit and restart Firefox.

  • Flash video skins

    Are there any plug ins I can use to add more options to the skins that are currently available in CS3?  I need a skin that displays UNDER the video, not on top of it and with timing and video length.  I am not a programmer, I'm just inserting flash videos into webpages and am stuck with the choices that dreamweaver cs3 provides, non of which is what I need.  Please help me!

    DW's skin choices are limited because it's not a Flash application.   If you're good with Action Script, you could build your own custom player in Flash or you could use any of the pre-built Flash players on the web.

  • Problem with Flash video/dropdowns in Mozilla

    Am trying to add a flash video to a webpage using a

    I would be most grateful for anyone's advice on this.

    A discussion with Adobe support lends the idea that MPEG
    layer 4 might be an issue. That since these videos come from DVD
    perhaps encoded with MPEG layer 4 that that could be the reason tha
    all of them have this problem. (Some were done using AVI - I have
    to check and see if that makes a difference)
    BUT
    According to the PDF from Adobe Design - Flash Video Encoder
    Wizard - By Tom Green and Jordan L. Chilcott
    Flash should be able to convert an MPEG4 file. (Well it does
    but they all stop after 30 sec.) Now how do I solve this problem?
    All the videos still stop after 30 sec.s
    quote snip snip>>
    Flash Video Encoder Wizard
    By Tom Green and Jordan L. Chilcott
    The first thing you have to understand about the use of video
    in Flash® is the original
    video must be converted to a format Flash can read. This
    format is FLV (Flash Video)
    and you can either use Flash, the Flash Video Encoder, or
    third-party software to
    create the FLV file. If you use video-editing software such
    as Adobe® After Effects®,
    you can also export the file as a FLV file. If you are a
    Dreamweaver® user, the current
    version of Dreamweaver—Dreamweaver 8—contains a
    feature that allows you to add
    an FLV at the click of a button.
    The purpose of the Encoder, therefore, is to convert the
    video file to the FLV format.
    When you installed Flash Professional 8, the Flash Video
    Encoder application was
    also installed on your machine. If you also have QuickTime,
    Adobe After Effects,
    Avid Studio, or Final Cut Pro installed on your machine,
    they, too, were given the
    capability to use the Encoder when it was installed.
    If you will be converting a video to the FLV format, the
    video must be in one of
    these formats:
    • AVI—Audio Video Interleave
    • MOV—QuickTime 4 or later
    • MPEG—Motion Picture Experts Group

  • Problems with Flash video streaming in any Browser (Windows 8.1)

    Hello.
    Since maybe the last Chrome update (to version 42.0.2311.90 m - I tried both 32 and 64 bits versions) or some Windows 8.1 updates (I don't know for sure), flash videos don't even start to buffer - they only play after the full content is downloaded (or loaded in the site's player) . So, If I try to watch a video from a Flash Player based interface (like Dailymotion, or Vimeo), I have no streaming, and I have to wait a long time, watching a "1%" or a load wheel until the full content is available to watch.
    This is happening with all browsers, not only Chrome (IE and Firefox too). I tried to update flash player (first, version 17,0,0,169 and then tried the beta, the one released April 14, 2015). No difference at all. So, I think this might be a problem with the flash player itself, or with some Windows settings.
    So, lets go to the facts:
    - That happened suddenly for no apparent reason - one day it was working, and on the other day it wasn't;
    - I have the latest versions of all browsers I use (Chrome, IE and Firefox);
    - My Flash Player version is, currently, the latest version;
    - I tried old Flash Player versions. didn't work;
    - This is not happening with HTML5 video players, like Youtube, so i think it's not a codec problem;
    - I have the latest nVidia graphics driver. And it was happening even before I update the driver (I have a GeForce GTX 770);
    - I tried disabling the hardware acceleration on Flash settings, nothing happened;
    - I use default Windows Firewall and Defender. Tried to disable firewall, nothing happened;
    - I had searched all over the internet for the answer, but I can't find it. I already did all what the troubleshoot pages from Adobe said to do;
    - My internet connection is fine. It's a fast connection, and It's on wireless. I have several PCs connected to this network and flash videos work fine with them, only in this specific machine isn't;
    - I tried uninstall flash player and install again several times, with several different versions. Didn't work;
    - Tried disable different versions of flash player on Chrome too, nothing happened.
    The thing is, I can imagine that this might not be only a flash player problem, but since it's the only plugin problem I have, I thought that you might have the answer.
    Thank you.

    Please work through the video troubleshooting guide.
