FlatFile ActiveSync Adapter "Update count"

Hello,
is there a functionality similar to the "error count" setting for the flatfile adapter but regarding updates. I'd like to be able to stop the import if more than X updates (or deletes) are present in the file i'm processing.

Create and Update use different default resource, user forms and views. Is the resoruce error you get is the name of one of your adapters? NBCIDMDeltaActiveSync
Look for Proxy admin assinged to the adapter, if it has a form attached. Review the logic.
Look for update user form assigned to the update. Review logic in the forms.
Look for the Update Workflow, review logic differences in the create Workflow.

Oracle ActiveSync Adapter issue

Hi,
I am facing an issue with oracle activeSync adapter. I am trying to connect to an oracle table and pull some records into IDM. I created the resource and tested connection to the resource and everything seems to work fine. Also I am able to poll the oracle table and create some records within IDM. The issue is with updates.
The following is are the two scenarios in which I am getting errors.
1) When the XML content of the activeSync form is (This is the same entry when the feedOp is create and Update) This works fine when the operation is create

          <Expansion>

               <ref>activeSync.firstname</ref>
          </block>
          </Expansion>
     </Field>
     and so on for all the fileds, update fails totally, though create works. It does not push the changes to IDM and throws an error "An error occurred connecting to resource 'NBCIDMDeltaActiveSync'".
2) When the XML content of the activeSync form is (Since the previous entry did not work, I added this entry only when feedOp is Update)

     The values are getting pushed into IDM. However the error "An error occurred connecting to resource 'NBCIDMDeltaActiveSync'". still prevails.
Though the second one throws an error, it still works the way it should.
Can anyone help me figure out how I can fix the error. Though the error says that it has something to do with the connection, it is working fine for creates and I can test the resource connection successfully.

Update count is not refreshing in obiee11.1.1.7 after upgrade

Hi Team,
we have upgraded the obiee from 10g to 11.1.1.7
every this works fine
except.
when we are doing updated count for segment,Segment tree or priview List outputb File
the query ends at back end but in the screen from where i clicked the update count its still ruuning and giving message as "updating count wait...."
the query ends at backend but from screen it show running.
Please help me to come out of this problem

Resetting ActiveSync Adapter for Active Directory

I would like my Active Directory ActiveSync adapter to detect change made only after it is initially started and to disregard any changes prior to that time. The ActiveSync setup appears to allow this by checking the box labeled "When reset, ignore past changes".
That doesn't appear to be happening, however. Whenever the adapter is started and stopped, it still goes back and appears to search through modifications made well before the adapter was started.
The help item for that checkbox has this little bit of advice: "To reset the adapter, edit the XmlData object SYNC_resourceName to remove the MapEntry for the desired synchronization process, e.g. ActiveSync.", but doing that has made no difference at all.
What is the trick to completely resetting the AD ActiveSync adapter and getting it recognize only changes made from the point in time at which it was started?

steps.
Restart your server with the active sync in Manual mode, and then check the box "When reset, ignore past changes" and also delete the IAPI_Resource_name.
now start the active sync, and change the manual mode if required / as well remove the reset check box.
This is what i did when i faced with the same issue. and it worked for me.

ITunes available app update count is incorrect - off by 1

so for the past couple weeks i've been having this problem with itunes app updates. on the left-hand side of itunes where "apps" is, the number that pops up next to it to show the available updates to be downloaded is off by one. if i click and try to install available updates, i receive the notification that there are no new updates to install for any of my apps, but the number still shows one! totally frustrating.
i googled this and have only found one possible solution found on an older itunes support forum, but i have no idea what it means or how to go about this:

I had the same problem despite regularly updating my Apps. Problem was that somewhere during the early days of using iCloud iTunes got me logged in to with my mac.com account, rather than my long running imran.com account. Result, I have 8 apps that got purchased with that mac.com ID.
Even until now Apple has failed to provide a way to merge two AppleIDs.
So, now I have to go through the annoying step of logging out of my main iTunes account, logging in with my mac.com account, downloading the available updates for that, then remember to logout and log back in with my primary account. That brings the app update count available to Zero.
Convoluted situation brought to you by Apple's failure to provide linking or merging AppleIDs. Hope this helps.

Loading accounts through flatfile activesync

Hi All,
I am trying to load accounts through flatfile, but after a few trials came to know that we can't load accounts through flatfile activesync (am I right).
Then I loaded accounts through 'Bulk load' option. well, the accounts are loaded. when I am changing the attributes the changes are also occuring in the IdM. but when I am adding a new account to the flatfile, those changes are not take place in the Idm.
Any body is having idea, why it is behaving like this.
I am using a activesync form and also in the pre-workflow I am using create user workflow.
Any ideas please.

For the benefit of other users:
With help from Oracle support I was able to solve this error. The workaround is to populate Saved Results Set tab and QLI-Cache tabs completely.
In our system we are not using any functionality associated with these tabs. Since Oracle suggested I had to do it !!!
After populating these tabs the error didn't occur.

FlatFile activesync is missing

Hi I need to use flatfile activesync but Flatfile activesync item is missing in the Managed resources table under Configure tab.I dont know what is the problem,Can any one suggest how can I get that.?

Yes, do a search in this forum and you will find a few threads about it.
As far as I know there's no solution yet.
Can you give us more detail about your setup (version FCP etc) and the kind of Files you are using? (XDCam, DV, Prores, etc)
Maybe we can find a common denominator which causes this problem.
It also might be helpfull if you exactly did with those files.
for exemple: Was FCP running while you moved them?
Was the disk disconnected while you opened this project? etc

Wrong accounting (AAA) interim update counter

Hi,
In our broadband ADSL service, we use 7206-NPE-G2 as Bras and standard radius as AAA server working together. In normal situaton both (Bras & AAA) work together properly and all AAA functions (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) are fine. we have an symtom here and when it happens sometimes we will have wrong accounting interim update counter (I mean, Bras send a huge data traffic accouting for specific pppoe subscriber).
here is the symptom:
Primitive symptom: subscriber's pppoe connection drops before first accounting interim update (because of port error for example) in the other hand subscriber's pppoe connection stays connect less than 10 minutes (in this case intream updates has set on 10 minutes),
Primary symptom (our issue): sometimes Bras send an accounting packet with a large number value to AAA radius server, but it is not correct because in less than 10 minutes subscriber does not able to operate such huge traffic.
this symptom happens just sometimes and it does not happen in all less than 10 minutes pppoe disconnections.
Has anybody faced to this symptom? I would be thankful if somebody can help me to solve this issue.

Please use the below commands to check up with the interval.
Router# show ssg service service-name
Displays the information for an SSG service, including the accounting parameters and interval.
Router# debug radius
Troubleshoots communications between the RADIUS server and the network access server (NAS).
Router# radius-server vsa send
Sends vendor-specific attributes with authentication and accounting requests to the AAA server.

ITunes Available Application Update Count Incorrect

In iTunes, on the left-hand browser, it always shows that I have 1 iPhone application update available. However, if I click the "1 Update Available" link in the Store, it then says that there are no updates currently available. So, the available update count is incorrect. Thoughts?

App Store update counter on dock icon does not reset properly

There's definitely a bug in the App Store for Mac. The update counter does not reset properly. I have purchased only one app so far, and this morning the dock icon indicated a (1) meaning an update was available. I downloaded the update and the ( 1 ) disappeared. When I quit the App Store, the (1) reappeared on the icon in the dock. Now whenever the App Store launches the (1) disappears and whenever the App Store quits it reappears so it always looks like an update is waiting.

Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Now open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.dock.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac.

I am talking about Client Proxy to Receiver JDBC scenario.I've a requirement where i need to count the no of records created or updated in SQL server for particular transaction date.Question is- Is it possible to execute normal sql query to get the count or I need to write a stored procedure in SQL Server to be used by JDBC adapter.Please suggest with an example if possible.

Pulling data into IDM via ActiveSync Adapter

Hello,
I am doing a proof of concept on IDM and am trying to import user data from MySQL table into IDM. I wrote an active sync adapter to do this so that whenever a new row is added to the MySQL table, the information is automatically fetched into IDM and a new IDM user is created.
However here is my requirement and I am not sure if this can be done. When I pull data from the table, I want to associate this user with a resource that has already been defined within IDM and the user account thus created should have the resource assignment.
Can someone post some tips/ sample code for this if you have done this earlier.

for the active sync transaction you have two options:
1) call a workflow (i prefer to use this)
2) use the input forms. You have access to two forms. the first is the form assigned to the active sync. the other is the form assigned to the admin user assigned to running the active sync.
variables come in on the "global." namespace. So you refer to them as "global.firstname" etc.
the docs say that you have a "activesync" namespace..but if you dump the context, it doesnt exist.
Perform your mappings either in a workflow or via the forms. I dont like the forms, as they only allow a create, and update, or a delete. And what client only has those types of transactions?

IDM flatfile activeSync diffAction

We have a user form that implements activeSync diffAction on a flatfile ... our observation is that the full set of pipe delimited records are processed and written out regardless of whether a record is unchanged or not causing a lot of unnecessary work to be done and killing our performance. Our expected behavior is:
* only new records or changed records should be processed and written out
* we want omitted records NOT to be deleted
* As a workaround I have a utility script which does the following which is what we think the FFAS behavior should be (note A70.LDAP.MAINT is the latest authoritative full flatfile and FFAS-<timestamp> is the last good flat file that was synced ... and Unix diff is taking the place of the diffAction in IDM which isn't working; the script defers to the LVAL (<) from the A70 file and filters out the ('< ') symbol. the reconciled_file is then used to run activeSync:

our settings on the production box (running 7.1 update 1 patch 15) look like that already and it still doesn't work. I've also set up an 8.1 IDM at patch level 5 to prototype this on a later release and I cannot even get that far although I can create accounts and load them from the FlatFile resource but then I cannot administer them as I see the following sorts of errors:
* Unable to contact resource flatfileactivesync ... which I guess makes sense since it is NOT a daemon resource that would communicate with IDM
* it assumes that since the bulk load came from a flatfile that I want the users to have flatfile as a resource in their user attributes ...
* I merely want IDM to leverage the changes an ADMINISTRATOR make to the FFAS file ... but when I load the accounts from the flatfile it just assumes that I want the accounts to have resource FlatFileActiveSync as a part of the user's extended attributes ... which effectively makes the account I created useless from an administrative perspective as I can't even use my user 'proxy admin' to save or update the users manually i.e. to delete the FFAS resource they apparently own (to make the account useful again by not having ownership of a resource that cannot be updated).
* if I go ahead and try to do an activeSync with the users anyway I see the following error:
Action failed because feature 'account.UPDATE' is not supported by resource FlatFileActiveSync:
Syslog ID =SV-1130-192036
I'm told this also makes some sort of ironic sense presumably because the resource can't be contacted ... which begs the question why doesn't IDM just manage the flat file by processing my original file and re-writing it out with a timestamp ... and then if I make updates and re-run; process and update the user's Identity properties based on the contents of those files like the literature says it is supposed to do instead of treating it like FFAS is some sort of running daemon that needs to update users in real time and be able to iterate and update accounts without the administrator's intervention.
I'm amazed at the hidden complexities in what would seem to be a very simple scenario with very simple mappings between identity attributes and resource attributes. Perhaps what is confusing IDM is that I have ldap resources that map to the same sort of user attributes I'm trying to update via a flatfile.

Sender JDBC adapter -- Update SQL statement NOT work for the last record

I'm trying to use SAP XI to send records from Oracle database to As/400 using JDBC adapter. I've defined the communication channel for sender
(1) The "Query SQL statement" = select a_bgn_dt, a_end_dt from PX_PXXD WHERE NOT CU_ACTION_CD='P'
(2) The "Update SQL statement" = update PX_PXXD set CU_ACTION_CD='P' WHERE NOT CU_ACTION_CD='P'
Supposed that 3 records were retrieved from (1) and successfully updated to AS/400 but only the first 2 records in Oracle database are updated according to (2)
Any advise.
