HTTP error when trying to access RESTful web service from application
Hi,
We are getting the following error when trying to access a RESTful web service coming from Apex workspace 4.2.1 and Apex listener 2.1:
ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1130 ORA-29024: Certificate validation failure
In the Debug report, besides the above I also see:
error_backtrace: ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1130 ORA-06512: at "APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_WEB_SERVICES", line 543 ORA-06512: at "APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_WEB_SERVICES", line 1164 ORA-06512: at "APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_PROCESS", line 396
We get that error whether we use https or http in the URI pointing to the web service. When I test the Web Service in Workspace RESTful service GUI, I get the data back. When I go build an application with a report calling the RESTful Web Service I get that error. Both the Application and the Workspace RESTful services are on the same Apex environment and even the same workspace.
What is odd is that I can actually put the URL of the web service into a browser and I get the data: (using the demo hr data in sample RESTful services.)
IN browser-- https://weblogic-dev.edu/apex/ace/hr/empinfo/
yields:

Any ideas on what would be causing the Error above in our application?
Thanks,
Pat
Edited by: patfmnd on Mar 11, 2013 3:25 PM
In reviewing the above error, I think we are realizing that we have to have the Weblogic layer SSL cert (actually the CERT from our BigIP load balancer which also does our SSL termination) imported into the Oracle server wallet where Apex is installed. Am I correct?
PMWe resolved our problem. The Apex Administrative Guide made us realize that we had to set up Wallet path in the Instance. This required working with DBAs to follow the Advanced networking guide to get the wallet set up on our server. We then added that path to the Instance configuration. (Manager Instance --> Instance settings). We ran into another other issue related to our implementation of CAS but were able to resolve that, and 'voila' were able to get the sample RESTful service consumed by our application!!
Now to the task of figuring out how to get Basic Auth working between client application and RESTful web service. If anyone has that working, let us know!!
It would be helpful if in the documentation of the Apex 2.x listener or Apex install/configuration there was clear reference to the above steps required for HTTPS access to RESTful web services.

Accessing an XI webservice from EP
Hi,
I am trying to access a webservice running on XI from EP6 SP9. It is giving the exception
com.sap.engine.services.webservice.jaxm.soap.accessor.NetstedSOAPException: Problem in server response: [Not found].. "
any help would be appreciated.hi,
see whether you are able to access the webservice
through a browser... before testing the same with
the ep.
Probably the web service is down or its returning an
malformed response..

Consume a third party REST Based Webservice from PeopleSoft
We are in tools 8.49.33
Using 'Consume Web Service' component we can only consume a WSDL based webservice I guess. But we have a requirement to consume to a third party webservice, for which we just have to invoke a URL with query string via HTTP GET and receive an XML response. Has anyone done this before?Three things to check:
#1: Check your errorLog.html file in the PSIGW web app of your PeopleSoft server
#2: Does your app server have to go through a proxy to connect to the internet? If so, did you configure integrationGateway.properties to use a proxy server? You can test this by trying to use ConnectorRequestURL for a plain old HTTP web site. If you get the same error, then it is likely a proxy issue.
#3: If #2 passed, then it might have to do with certificates and you will need to review PeopleBooks for importing certificates for integration broker. I haven't had to do this before, but am pointing it out in case. -

Problem accessing Webservices from Flex
Hi All,
I have created a Webservice in Abap and configured it using
SOAMANAGER transaction. I am able to succesfully test the Web serivice which I have created in 'Soamanager ' transaction.
But when I am calling this Webservice from Flex application I am getting an error as " FAULT : faultCode:WSDLError faultString:'Runtime exception Error #1009' faultDetail:'null' "
We tried calling the Webservice outside SAP from the FLex application, it is working fine.
Please let me know how to rectify this error . It's an urgent requirement.
Thanks and regards,
Uma.hi
when you create your destinations for your webservices in the SOAMANAGER-> Destination Template
you would be providing wsdl url and destination , and in the below you can
find the username and pwd that need to set , you need to select the radio buttons with logon tickets ,
username , password , there , re-check the username and pwd by selecting the radio button with selecting the
radio button username password , and even check the webservice in the WSNAVIGATOR , whether its working
fine , and other thing is there is situation where your webservice may work fine inthe wsnavigator even then there would
be some problem inthe webservice , even check this scenario.

How to access internal table data from webdynpro to Flex application.
Hi Connoisseur
The data transfer from Abap WebDeypro to flex island works well. I followed , there is an example from Thomas Jung (by the way as always Great Work) and Karthikeyan Venkatesan (Infosys) but this example covers simple type only.
There is no example with complex types like arrayCollection which handle the transfer of data from flex to WebDynpro.
i tried to do pass internal table value to flex-datagrid.but its not work.
i would like to know
1.how to access internal table data from webdynpro to Flex application.
2.how to pass the internal table to flex-datagrid.
2.how to pass dynamically in ADOBE flex.
3. how to do Flex is receiving the wd context data?
4. how can we update WD context with FLEX data.
Ple give me sample example and step by step procedure.

How to access (any) soap / rest web services from widget
Hi all,
Is there an API, javascript library etc, which allows accessing (any) soap / rest webservices from widgets?
I know I can access web services from sap j2ee with widget foundation, but I'm still not sure how to access "outside"
web services.
A blog entry about this topic would be greatly appreciated I think, not only by me.
Regards,
LadislavAs promised, below is the js lib source code. I did not see the attachement option, so you can just create a text file and save it with .js extension.
function getHdrData( FuncName ) {
return '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>' +
'<SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" ' +
'xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" ' +
'xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">' +
'<SOAP-ENV:Header><sapsess:Session ' +
'xmlns:sapsess="http://www.sap.com/webas/630/soap/features/session/">' +
'<enableSession>true</enableSession></sapsess:Session>'+
'</SOAP-ENV:Header><SOAP-ENV:Body><ns1:' +
FuncName +
' xmlns:ns1=\'urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style\'>';
function addVar ( VarName, VarValue ) {
return '<' + VarName + '>' + VarValue + '</' + VarName + '>';
function getFtrData( FuncName ) {
return '</ns1:' + FuncName + '></SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Envelope>';
function setTable ( TblName, TblType) {
return '<' + TblName + ' xsi:type=\'ns1:' + TblType + '\'>';
function closeTable ( TblName) {
return '</' + TblName + '>';
function startEntry( ) {
return '<item>';
function endEntry( ) {
return '</item>';
So the following is the basic on how to use this library:
* Set up SOAP envelope
* Get the header data
getHdrData( SOAP operation name )
* If the web service set up the table and record start tags
setTable( variable name, table type ) - Optional
Set new record tag: startEntry() ? Optional
* Set up the fieldname or variable name
addVar( variable name, variable value )
* Set up the table and record end tags
endEntry() ? Optional
closeTable( variable name ) ? Optional
* Set up the footer SOAP envelope
Set footer data: getFtrData(SOAP operation name )
So hopefully that will help you consume SAP Published web services. -
Problem accessing webservice from abstract portal component
Hi,
I have created a webservice from a portal service. So i have created one more portal application to accessing that web service. In that, i have done the following:
-> Portal Service from Wsdl file - Client Side
-> I have entered the Wsdl file name as, the location of the WebService
-> I have selected the methods what i want to use in my application
-> Finally i have given my ServiceName, Alias and Package as well.
-> I have created one application object (Abstract Portal Component) to access the Web Service.
-> Inside that AbstractPortalComponent, i have written the coding to access the methods.
-> I have created one system with System Alias, i used this Alias name in my portalapp.xml
While running it shows the error as,
<b>com.sapportals.portal.prt.service.ServiceException: Service not found: com.sap.portal.prt.soap.Alias</b>
Help me in this, Thanks in Advance.,

REST Webservice from Workbench
Hello,
I have a simple requirement, I need to invoke a REST webservice from a workbench process, and store the output in a variable (content is XML data to render in a form).
I tried using the Invoke WebService component, but it is only allowing SOAP-based webservices.
How can I achieve this? Is my approach wrong? The idea would be to get a user input throught a human-centric process (a document id), then pass that to a WS that will marshall the XML data and the render the form based on the XML data...
Thanks for your help!I found one link

but it is not working out...i didn't get what it saying? Please help me out

Newbie issue - swf (accessing wsdl) only works from bin-debug
I have a Flex project accessing a CFC Webservice.
When i try to run it or debug it or put it on the server (swf), i get zero - it just waits for the web service and returns nothing.
BUT! when i click on the swf in the bin-debug, it actually works - i get the data back from the webservice.
I tried copying the whole dir to another spot - and it doesn't work.
Any ideas on this one?!Update: Found this post and tried adding local and webservice URL to Flash player 'safe sites' but no go.
