Flex Hero on Android, ServerSocket won't bind (Error #2002)

Question

Really simple code:
                    serverSocket = new ServerSocket();
                    serverSocket.addEventListener(Event.CONNECT, incomingSocketConnect);
                    try
                         serverSocket.bind(12346, "127.0.0.1");
                    catch(e:IOError)
                         // error
                    serverSocket.listen();
Even on a stripped down mobile app, with nothing but this in the View "creationComplete" handler, the bind statement is throwing an Error #2002.
I have tried different ports (8087, 8080, 4444, 42345, etc) all with the same result.
HELP!!??

Okay, after even more searching, I finally discovered that ServerSocket is not supported on Air for Android.
Basically, I need a way for the Air for Android app to listen for a message from a native Android app.  Short from opening a socket to a ServerSocket in the Native Android app and polling for messages, is there any good ideas on how to send a notification to an Air for Android app?
