Flex Module call parentApplications Method

I have got modules loading and can call methods and get and
set variables in my module from my main Flex app. As per this code
source:

That all works great but it appears that this is one way. I
want my module to do an outro then call the parentApplication to
say 'i'm ready' before unloading it. Am I missing something
obvious? I can't call parentApplication..perhaps I have to add a
custom EventListener to the ModuleLoader?
Q: How do I call a method in my parentApplication from the
module?

In object oriented languages like Java you can send the reference to an object to a method, something like: object1.callFunction(me)
where "me" is the reference to the object calling the function. So the "object1" can call methods inside "me".
I want to do the same in a screen. I want to do the following. In the PBO module when the screen initializes I want to do:
PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
MODULE init_screen_0100.
CALL FUNCTION some_function
EXPORTING me
where me is the reference to the screen.
Is this possible, and if yes, how to do this?
After this I am going to from another object trigger events in this screen, thats why I want the reference to it.

Problem with Call transaction method in function module

Dear Frndz,
           I am converting its services into webdynpro.
           I developed a rfc[function module] for travel management [TRIP] . In that rfc i used call transaction method[BDC] to upload the data. The same rfc will be called from the frontend[portal].It is working fine in development for whome se37 execution authorization was assigned. It is not working for other users. I hope it is something relevant to authorization .If suppose can i create a authorization object for this rfc and assign it to the profile.
        Normally users can be given authorization to run the tcode.
similarly i want to give the authorization to be given users to execuste this funtion module.
huv can i do it ?? any suggestion.

Use ST01 transaction to start authorization trace, you will then see what authorizations are missing (if your assumption is right of course, i.e. if it's really an authorization problem)

You register your java class as a bean and put an actionlistener or an action method on the button binding it to the bean.

There is other useful stuff on the jdev home page.
One simple way is to select the button in the jspx file, open the property inspector, click the small triangle on the left to actionlistener. In the dialog appearing you hit new by managed bean and give it all information and new by the method name and enter a method name to call. The new method will be created in the bean class for you. From this method you call your custom method.

The model layer should never depend on a specific view layer - this breaks reusability.
What you need to do is expose a service method on your AM. Then your view can call this method and pass a parameter into the model layer.

Are you trying to set a whereclause? If so you can always set the whereclause as an argument to your datasource tag.. An example of this is done in the Online Orders sample app at:

In general you can use the scriptable variable that you define for your BC4J Datasource to access different BC4J methods.

Processing batch input data with CALL TRANSACTION USING is the faster of the two recommended data transfer methods. In this method, legacy data is processed inline in your data transfer program.

A program that uses CALL TRANSACTION USING to process legacy data should execute the following steps:
Prepare a BDCDATA structure for the transaction that you wish to run.
With a CALL TRANSACTION USING statement, call the transaction and prepare the BDCDATA structure. For example:

MODE 'A'
UPDATE 'S'.
MESSAGES INTO MESSTAB.

The MODE Parameter
You can use the MODE parameter to specify whether data transfer processing should be displayed as it happens. You can choose between three modes:
A Display all. All screens and the data that goes in them appear when you run your program.
N No display. All screens are processed invisibly, regardless of whether there are errors or not. Control returns to your program as soon as transaction processing is finished.
E Display errors only. The transaction goes into display mode as soon as an error in one of the screens is detected. You can then correct the error.
The display modes are the same as those that are available for processing batch input sessions.
The UPDATE Parameter
You use the UPDATE parameter to specify how updates produced by a transaction should be processed. You can select between these modes:
A Asynchronous updating. In this mode, the called transaction does not wait for any updates it produces to be completed. It simply passes the updates to the SAP update service. Asynchronous processing therefore usually results in faster execution of your data transfer program.
Asynchronous processing is NOT recommended for processing any larger amount of data. This is because the called transaction receives no completion message from the update module in asynchronous updating. The calling data transfer program, in turn, cannot determine whether a called transaction ended with a successful update of the database or not.
If you use asynchronous updating, then you will need to use the update management facility (Transaction SM12) to check whether updates have been terminated abnormally during session processing. Error analysis and recovery is less convenient than with synchronous updating.
S Synchronous updating. In this mode, the called transaction waits for any updates that it produces to be completed. Execution is slower than with asynchronous updating because called transactions wait for updating to be completed. However, the called transaction is able to return any update error message that occurs to your program. It is much easier for you to analyze and recover from errors.
L Local updating. If you update data locally, the update of the database will not be processed in a separate process, but in the process of the calling program. (See the ABAP keyword documentation on SET UPDATE TASK LOCAL for more information.)
The MESSAGES Parameter
The MESSAGES specification indicates that all system messages issued during a CALL TRANSACTION USING are written into the internal table <MESSTAB> . The internal table must have the structure BDCMSGCOLL .
You can record the messages issued by Transaction TFCA in table MESSTAB with the following coding:

Error Analysis and Restart Capability
Unlike batch input methods using sessions, CALL TRANSACTION USING processing does not provide any special handling for incorrect transactions. There is no restart capability for transactions that contain errors or produce update failures.
You can handle incorrect transactions by using update mode S (synchronous updating) and checking the return code from CALL TRANSACTION USING. If the return code is anything other than 0, then you should do the following:
write out or save the message table
use the BDCDATA table that you generated for the CALL TRANSACTION USING to generate a batch input session for the faulty transaction. You can then analyze the faulty transaction and correct the error using the tools provided in the batch input management facility.

hi,
when you are using BDC then you will have to handle all the popups. this is minus point in using bdc as you need to feed each and every single bit of information so that bdc works fine and if anything misses then your bdc program will get stuck in middle of processing.
best thing is check for function module or BAPIs available for those transactions. For VA02 there is a BAPI available ''BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE''. Try using this BAPI and if this BAPI doesnt handle the change you want to make in sales order then only go for BDC.
you can also check BAPIs available in 'BAPI' tcode.

As I know, share object also haven't these kind of functionality.
Actually, share object is an enhancement for the import/export concrete mechansim. It import the root class and other conception into the share functionality, and also support more flexiblity access way to the object which has been set to shared.
But it doesn't support the action like run method in the background, as I know.

Problem in App Module Impl client method

Hope someone has an answer for this. I have a data action calling a client interface service method in the app module impl class. I am passing http request data wrapped in a Map to this method from the action class.
In this method I am calling another method in a bean. Strangely, the code in app module method gets executed twice, acting like a recursive call! I debugged it and noticed that my action class calls the method only once, but the call in the method to bean method is executed twice. I want to capture a database error for inserting a new row in my bean method the first time by throwing a jbo exception in app module method, but throw new exception is ignored and message gets lost due to 2nd excecution of the code.
Any ideas or help is much appreciated.

What do you mean by 'verbatim EO'?
If you want to use the framework you should use it and not look for some hacks to archive your work. The docs help you to create or update data using the framework. If you don't want to use the framework, you don't have to, but then your post is for an other forum.

Flex Module issue with Panel

Hello everyone. I have the following problem.
In my application I have several modules and each of them have components CollapsableTitleWindow (extends Panel). After opening the window it is added to the container which is in the main application (CollapsableTitleWindowContainer). In these windows you can open another window (and so on).
Now, what is the problem. When I change (reload) any module and I want to open a new window (sub window) with the already loaded window I get this error:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

How to call a method when initialing the page?

Help! I need to call a method to get some information from server to create a part of the page.
But I don't konw what to do, Is there a function similar to the Flex's createComplete in JavaFX.
please give me an example to show how to do that.
