I need distribute my applicatión between many clients and i need change the endpoint in every they.
I need any tip about this because i can´t create many "Export release build" with the configuration on _serviceControl.endpoint for every client
I have Flash Builder for PHP 4.6

Pass it runtime viaflashvars or make a service and call the service for each client to return the proper endpoint.

Flex-PHP application using LCCS

I need to create an LCCS video/audio/text chat application which will be deployed on a website with PHP as back-end. Only 2 people can comunicate with each other. There are a few questions I have related to this:
Do I need to create different rooms for each user chat as 2 users can chat at a time?
Do I need to create these rooms on the fly using the PHP classes in LCCS SDK to enable dynamic room creations?
How do I interact with Flex and these Rooms? Do I need to create some PHP services which after creating a room, send the data to Flex, which Flex uses to initiate the chat application?
Any help would be appreciated and it would be good if someone can share URL to similar tutorial or example.

For each user and from your own system, get an user ID, a username, and an assigned role.
Generate an authToken by passing the required parameters to getAuthenticationToken. The token is a unique, signed string created from the your shared secret, the user's ID and username, and their assigned role.
Here we need to generate user ID and username on server side? Also how do I define roles using server side scripting?

How to move ahead with the flex/php application structure

Hi,
Its been a week since I strated learning Flex. I am a regular php web develeper. Since starting the flex learning I have got one thing there is no concept of "pages" in flex like in a regular php web site..there is "States".
Now I have this project requireing a login and then as per login user role different screens.
Lets say three loging roles 1) teacher 2)Student 3) Admin
Screens for each role will be diffrent as each have diffrent dashboard feature. I am confused with the structure i have decided is correct or not. Please review or suggest how to accomplish this.
The main.mxml will have login form.
it will have three states teacher, student, admin. and then these three will have sub states for particular roles features.
While going to one book I read a mxml file has atleast 1 state so can the structure be like this. (Is this possible or not)

three mxmxl files for teacher student admin and each will have statets for their respective features.
Please reply. I am trying to find out by reading the documentation properly. But your guidance will speed things up and help me understand things quickly.

Issues with Error #2048 on deployed Flex/PHP Web Application

Hello,
I'm testing out Flash Builder for PHP and I'm running into the following error when deploying to a web servers:
Send failed
Channel.Security.Error error Error #2048 url: 'http://testsite.dreamhosters.com/LocatorPHP/public/gateway.php'
I have looked though documentation and tutorials without any luck. My application works great on the local Zend Server setup but as soon as I jump to a remote web server I get problems.
Here's what I've tried:
1) crossdomain.xml in web root
2) amf_config.ini updated so zend framework on server and gateway.php are reachable (connecting to gateway.php directly gives me no errors)
3) attemped to change the flex server option in my project but Flash Builder for PHP will not allow me to change this, so I had to change my php service.as endpoint entry to the gateway.php on the webserver
Is there a log that can help me troubleshoot the error?

If the data is on a remote server (for example, PHP running on a web server, talking to a MySQL server) then you do this in an AIR application the same way you would do it with any Flex application (or ajax application, if you're building your AIR app in HTML/JS).
That's a broad answer, but in fact there are lots of ways to communicate between Flex and PHP. The most common and best in most cases is to use AMFPHP (http://amfphp.org/) or the new ZEND AMF support in the Zend Framework.

I don't understand one thing...
There are different type to do a connection between Flex and PHP.
Which one is the best ?
1. With AMF (Flex : service-config.xml, RemoteObject) (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/crud_flex_php_zend.html)
2. With Zend Framework (Flex : Callresponder, Time,...) already included in Flash Builder 4.5 (http://devzone.zend.com/1701/flex-and-zend-framework_part-1/)
3. With Zend Server and Flash Builder 4.5 with PHP (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash-builder/articles/flashbuilder-php-part1.html)
It's three differents approach but in 2 & 3, it's auto configured with Flex.. however to do a connection between Flex Mobile & PHP (online), I have to use the solution 1
So, if somebody can help me to explain and understand the difference between that.

I appreciate Adobe teams efforts to reproduce the issue and acknowledged it as a Bug in AIR
But now I am waiting on them to come back with an answer - Is it going to be fixed in future versions? Is there a work around?
Is adobe even considering this as an Issue? What are the next steps after acknowleding the issue?
I hope I am not too aggressive but I also want Adobe to understand the urgency of the situation when it comes to a product release.
I have experimented with couple of work arounds but none seem to work.
If anyone has come across this issue please comment.

Help with Flex - PHP - and SQL Server

Good afternoon,
I have been working on this problem for over a week and am at
my wit's end. I am trying to create an application that will allow
me and my fellow statisticians to share code easily. The
technologies at my disposal are Flex, PHP and SQL Server 2005. The
web server is IIS. I have downloaded and installed the PHP driver
for SQL Server 2005 and am able to query the database and generate
XML. The problem I'm having is that I can't return the XML from PHP
to Flex.
If I execute the php code in a web browser and view the
source, it looks like XML. I can then cut and paste the exact same
code into an xml file and read it in from the harddisk and the tree
will populate. Can anyone please help me? I don't have flex builder
so I it's hard for me to use trace and view what is going on.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried every permutation of
e4x path notation I can think of. You're right, you're not supposed
to need the root level as that's supposed to be returned in the
result. So you should only need to reference first level after the
root. When I do this and launch the .SWF I get a completely empty
tree.
I think the problem lies somewhere in my understanding of
what format Flex needs returned from a HTTPRequest. It's my
understanding that it just needs to be XML. As far as I can tell,
that's what I'm sending it. On the PHP side, does it have to be
cast a special way? Everything I've seen just shows people using
ECHO to output the XML data.

All the paths to CFCs are the same in my live production site. Can you be more specific as to what you mean by "RemoteClass aliases in your AS Classes and CFCs (if any) are correct."? How will the app know that the CFC is on http://myLiveSite.com instead of http://myDevSite.com? The only line of code that I have noticed that points to a URL is the endpoint in a file called _Super_XXX.as. And at the top of that file it says that the file is not meant for editting.
To clarify...I see your app/code all exists on a server access via a web browser so I can understand that everything still works when deployed. Mine is a mobile app so when I am developing and testing on my local computer the URL points to my local development machine. However when I deploy it to a mobile device like a tablet and run the app, it needs to be able to access a cfc on a remote server via a different URL ie. my http://myLiveSite.com/myCFC.cfc instead of http://localhost/myCFC.cfc

Call JSFL from Flex Air application

Hi,
I have a Flex Air application that converts old style flash
text var txt files into XML. As part of the process it creates a
jsfl file that when run will automate through older FLAs and
upgrade them with changes required.
My question is this. Using the command
fl.runScript(locationOfJSFLscript) in flash, it will automatically
call the script and execute it. How do I do the same in Flex? i.e.
I have a button in the application. I press it and it sends the
call to run the script.

Twitter Feed Within A Flex/Air Application

I am attempting to advance an appilcation I've created so that it incorporates a live twitter feed i.e. when users access the application their own twitter feed is shown within it and is updated live.
I have no experience in using either twitter itself or how to incorporate twitter feeds into a flex/air application specifically and was wondering if anyone can tell me exactly what I'd need to do to achieve this?
A further addition my client has requested is the use of live images. The app itself is basically an interactive favourites menu with users clicking on and adding links to sites within the app. Each of these links is represented by an icon which is basically a screenshot of each site. I want to alter this so that these images change live AS the site themselves change so they are constantly up to date. Is this also possible at all and if so can anyone give me advice on how this could be achieved?

Is there a way to save data to just one view in Flex Mobile applications?

I am having trouble handling data between views in a Flex Mobile application that I am writing. I know how to pass data from one view to another, but I was wondering if there is a way to save that data to a view, then get more data from another view (in this case it would be the same view that the original data came from) and put that data on the same view without overwriting the original data. I would be glad to post some code if anyone needs to see it.
