Flip objext or text in JS

I can't find a way to flip an object or text horizontally or vertically using javascript. I looked at the transfomation matrix but that looks like it only scales, offsets and rotates an object or text.
Can I flip an object or text (horizontally or vertically) using javascript?
Thanks,
Mark

This is AppleScript but may provide an indication to the values you require for your matrix in JavaScript.
I did notice that even with about centre some times the bounds moved so I get the position then reposition you will need to test.
Transform about vertical axis:
tell application "Adobe Illustrator"
activate
set Doc_Ref to the current document
tell Doc_Ref
set Group_XY to position of group item 1 of layer 1
set RefVert_Matrix to ¬
{class:matrix, mvalue_a:-1.0, mvalue_b:0.0, mvalue_c:0.0, mvalue_d:1.0, mvalue_tx:0.0, mvalue_ty:0.0}
transform group item 1 of layer 1 using RefVert_Matrix about center
set position of group item 1 of layer 1 to Group_XY
end tell
end tell
Transform about horizontal axis:
tell application "Adobe Illustrator"
activate
set Doc_Ref to the current document
tell Doc_Ref
set Group_XY to position of group item 1 of layer 1
set RefHoz_Matrix to ¬
{class:matrix, mvalue_a:1.0, mvalue_b:0.0, mvalue_c:0.0, mvalue_d:-1.0, mvalue_tx:0.0, mvalue_ty:0.0}
transform group item 1 of layer 1 using RefHoz_Matrix about center
set position of group item 1 of layer 1 to Group_XY
end tell
end tell
hope this helps

  • Flip Image w/ Text

    Hello,
Is there a way to flip an image horizontally and keep the text from reading backwards?  I have an image with the word 'Enter' on the right side of the image. I want to flip the image so that the word is on the left side. However everytime I flip the image (regardless of where my reference point is) the word winds up in the lower left corner and written backwards.
I'm using CS4 Photoshop on Win XP.
    Many thanks.

OK, it is not on a Text Layer then. Can you separate it to another Layer. How is the image constructed? I do not recall seeing an attached image. If you have one, please let us take a look at it. There might be some way that you can get what you want.
    Good luck,

  • Javascript, Text frame - Flip Horizontal

I just don't understand javascript very well yet.
I want to flip horizontally, a text frame, on it's center/in place. (Yes, I want the text to be wrong reading.)
the name of the text frame is smallTXXX and the indesign document will be open at the time the script is run. (I need to add this to an existing javascript.)
Thank you, I can't figure out how to piece this one together.

    var doc = app.activeDocument;
    var tf = doc .textFrames.item("smallTXXX");
    tf.flipItem(Flip.HORIZONTAL, AnchorPoint.CENTER_ANCHOR);

  • Can Apple help me?

So I have had an Iphone 5s since April this year. A few weeks ago I was doing the dumb mistake of running down stairs, in flip-flops, while texting on my phone. One little stumble and "Crap" my screen is shattered. I am away at a school is Durham so I had to ship it home to my parents who said they would get it repaired so that is what I did. After a few days of getting it back I noticed that my phone would no longer rotate when put in different positions and there was a slight region on the screen that was "yellow tinted". The phone's battery is also starting to act wonky and I get maybe 4 hours of charge with 100%. I asked them if they got it Apple Certified repaired and they said yea, but just by looking at the phone I could tell that it wasn't "Apple" quality. Is there any chance that Apple will at least replace my battery for $80 if I explained to them the story or is spending hundreds for a new 5s my only option?
    - Please help.

I suggest you start by obtaining the repair receipt from your parents.  Then if indeed it was repaired at an Apple Certified place, check with an Apple Store to see what they will do.  Bring the repair receipt.

  • Any way to print a mirror image anymore?

The Mac used to have an option for printing a mirror image of your document. What happened to this? I need to be able to print a mirror image from Pages.
    Thanks!

That's an option in some printers. None of my printers have ever had the option, but I've worked around it by flipping the image & text boxes in AppleWorks for years. You can do the same thing in the metrics inspector in Pages.

  • Corrupted after SaveAs

    Post Author: queen3
    CA Forum: General
I use C#/VBScript (tried both) to update database location for all subreports and save new report:- open report- update location (LogOnInfo / SetTableLocation / etc);- SaveAs.Nothing more. This works fine on my machine. However, on client's computer the only subreport which uses stored procedure (others use views) is saved with fields messed up. For example, there're 2 fields: "number" and "text" with display formulas. After saving they "field source" is flipped - "number" become "text" and vice versa. However, their formulas remains the same! So after SaveAs we got "number" with text formula and "text" with number formula! This results in incorrect displaying and errors in formulas (like, "a string is required here").The fields are not swapped; there're 9 fields and they are RANDOMLY replaced with another ones, some of them even remain valid. This happens only on client's computer and only for subreport which uses stored procedure.

    FIXED!
if you have this issue the best way to see if the dynamiclink server is in a crash loop. It will intermittently freeze your machine. On the task manager you will see it starting and quitting.

  • TIFF Images Orientation

How can I distinguish whether TIFF Image which contains a Text if it is portrait or landscape??
    Explanation:
    1. TIFF image represents an A4 paper size.
    2. This paper contains Text inside it.
    3. TIFF Image (paper) should be displayed (flipped) according the Text orientation.
    4. Need to figure out the right orientation for the TIFF image to be displayed.

you are right, i was reading about that, and i need to integrate a kind of OCR with my application, then i can flip the image according the text direction.
the user is a naive end user, and I should assume that he do not know how to deal with the computer :P
now there are a lot of job to do :) guess i have to start.

  • Why won't Firefox load some pages correctly?

On my everydayhealth.com site where I keep my fitness journal, suddenly the graphics are gone and all I have is a page with text and numbers on it. After it switches to this text page, at the very top it will say "Location TemplateTop not found in page 40811."
On another site I shop all the time, sephora.com, when I would click on a makeup area I want to go it would give me an oops page and tell me I have ventured into some unknown beauty territory.
I thought NoScript was causing this so I disabled it. Since doing that my Sephora site seems to be working. And initially my diet journal seemed to come back too. But then the journal page again flipped to this text and numbers page with that message at the top. Sephora seems to still be working.

More specifically, after logging in, go to the support forum at (https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions), then you should see the "My Contributions" link.
Despite their similar names, Java and JavaScript are two completely separate things. Java is used for Java applets, and JavaScript is used for interactivity in pages. NoScript prevents JavaScript (and Java) code from executing in pages unless its explicitly allowed.
JavaScript in particular is a technology that many web developers rely on, and expect browsers to have enabled. While developers should properly handle the use case where someone has JavaScript disabled, many don't, either because they don't want to spend a bunch of time coding for what probably amounts to 0.1% of their users (most of whom will allow JavaScript on pages they trust), they simply forgot to handle it, or their site would be impossible without it.
I'm not familiar enough with NoScript to walk you through it, but what you need to do is add exceptions for the sites that aren't working properly. Try their [http://noscript.net/faq FAQ ]or [http://forums.informaction.com/viewforum.php?f=3 forum].
Again, this problem almost definitely has nothing to do with Firefox itself--you should get in touch with the owners of the sites in question, or with the NoScript folks.

  • Using type problem

    I am using Illus. 10 on a G4 OSX
I would like to make type go along a path of the bottom inside of a circle.
The type should read from left to right.
    Thanks in advance
    Johanna

Make your type on path using the type on path tool go to Type Menu and Type on the Path option and choose flip' Reposition the text as you will.
You can also grab the handle of the text path and drag it across the path, same result.

  • Why does my FaceTime camera show an excessively red and grainy picture?

When I see FaceTime pics on the screen, they look nice and clear, but my camera shows me as having excessivly red skin tones and
a grainy image. Can this be improved on, and how do I do that? It would be nice to see my callers and myself in proper HD.
This is my Mac product list: iMac (20-inch Early 2008), OS X Mavericks (10.9) Not much, but it's all I have that's Mac.

No. You're not going crazy. Mine does it as well. I have no idea why it does it so I'm probably of no help whatsoever other than to help keep your sanity in check... Sorry. On the upside though I have resorted to PS Express to correct the flip issue. Unless you have a hundred photos, it's as easy as swiping from left to right to get your picture back the way it was taken.
Update: The picture is initially taken AS a mirror image. Hold up anything with readable text and look at it on the display. It's backwards. When you take the picture its flipped and the text becomes readable again...

  • Using HP 7525, any way to print right-to-left of the page instead of left-to-right ?

All printers (I think) print the page, say legal size paper, starting from the left-hand side to the right hand-side.
Anyway to reverse this? In other words, print a page from right to left.
For wexample, I have MS word doc page with some  graphics. The print command prints the page from left to the right.
I want to print the page right to left??
    Pls help.

So Idon’t know if these will work for you but I gave this a bit more thought.
    1) Some printers allow for custom paper sizes, if you have this option in the driver you can try to create the size you want. I am not familiar if your printer supports this.
2)My home printer seems to start printing from the bottom of the page when it is set up as a duplex job (2 sided printing).
    3) Another option might be to print if off normally and then start a copy job with the paper on the scanner flipped around.
    4) Try different software that will retain the quality when flipping the images/text
This is all the ideas I have, I hope one of them works.
    I work for HP.

  • Jquery: roundabout issue

I've been trying to teach myself Jquery. I am trying to use an add-on roundabout that should take images and load them into a carousel. but I'm having a problem that I can't figure out, and I was hoping to get some help. below is the small html with the jquery code. The first part of the code works, and will load the div with all the images. When I call flipit which uses the roundoubut add on nothing happens.
When I first typed it in i used a lower case s in the childselector, and the images appeared in the div, but nothing happened. When I fixed it childSelector the images dissapeared.
Can anyone see what I've done wrong?

Is there a way to flip the pages in a .pdf so that all of the text is readable (in other words all documents are right side up)?  I have Adobe Acrobat X and am using Windows 8.1.

I have a pdf with over 2,000 pages, many of which are sideways.  I do not want to manually flip each one (few are next to each other).  Is there a way to automate the function so that all sideways or upside down text pages are righted?
