Flip4Mac sticker on every export

Hey,
Do I have to buy Flip4Mac to get QuickTime Pro to export in a different format without the "Flip4Mac trial version" sticker branded into the movie at all times? I wanted to use QuickTime Pro for switching formats, so I bought it, and now I come to realize that I need to buy another $29 piece of software to actually do it?
Thanks for any help!

The watermark won't go away unless you pay. And unfortunately that is the only codec I know that can decode or export wmv on a mac.

  • REALLY Mysterious Gray Lines on Every Export (pictures)

I'm working on a video that contains a white background, and the client's background is also pure white. Every export I give him has a gray vertical line showing on the left and right borders of the video. We've narrowed down every possible cause, and it comes back to me.
Here's a picture blown up 1600% of the gray line:
I moved the video over a couple pixels:
It exists with every export that I do. .MOV, MPG2, etc. The gray bar won't go away. I tried scaling it up and re-rendering, but the gray bar still exists.
    Any ideas?
I'm also on CS4 (the forum there wouldn't let me post). I'd really appreciate any experience you can offer with this.

Everything was exported from AE as .AVI uncompressed, the sequence is 1080p, 29.97, and I've tried almost every export format, typically at 12Mbps.
I found out that the issue only exists on a 1080 export, but the same format in 720 (exact same settings besides size) does not have the gray lines. With other videos, the color (not pure white) distracts from these lines, but with a pure white background, the lines exist as like a half gradient on the left and right sides... but not the top and bottom.
I understand how crazy it sounds, but it exists with every single 1080 render I've done. Could this be a CS4 issue, and I should just upgrade?
    Thanks for your consideration.

  • LR5 Publish Services does not honour 'Reload plug-in on every export'

I am developing a custom export plug-in for adding backdrops and border to exported images.
If I tick the 'Reload plug-in on every export' box then any changes I make to the plugin code get reloaded if I do a normal 'Export' from Lightroom 5.
However if I use Publish Services to export the images it does not honour the 'Reload' checkbox and the old plugin code gets used.

Hi, assuming your are referring to Jeffrey Freidl then can I just say that his plug-ins add so much more flexibility to any that might already exist in LR and I think he only expects the minimum set by Paypal as the minimum donation.
You can try them for a number of days before deciding to donate.
I did and I wouldn't be without them.

  • Keyword hierarchy corrupted with every export

Why oh why when I export any image from one folder to another do I end up with most keywords applied to that image written to my hierarchical keyword list as a new 1st level keyword and not under the parent keyword as they should be?  I've tried everything. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit, with the latest LR 3.  Export Synonyms, Include on Export, Export containing keywords are all checked with all the keywords and I've unchecked the Write Keywords as Hierarchy in the Export dialogue. With every export I have to clean up my keyword list and I'm at wits end with wasted hours. Any ideas ANYONE? Thanks in advance!

Thanks John for your input.  Your link & explanation of the export
    process is helpful.
In reply, Yes, I am using the File>Export command with the option Add to
this Catalog..... for I have been basically putting together photo
submissions to various publishers and creating a Jpeg or Tiff file from
the RAW and keeping the RAW intact in its original folder.  As a result
I have that new file created and sent to a new folder set up for a
particular publisher solely for a record of that submission. (Hope
that's clear)  I've done this with both the "Write Keywords as
Hierarchy" checked and unchecked which appears to get the same results.
Where I think the problem lies primarily is with any synonyms I've
applied to keywords (ie; scientific names for various animal species)
And if I've checked "write keywords as hierarchy" I also end up with a
keyword list in the metadata that includes the top level parent keyword,
which I don't necessarily want visible ( such as the word "Place" along
with "Colorado")   You do mention that synonyms are treated differently....
The synonym Plantea, however, still gets imported as a top-level
keyword, because when you tell LR to export synonyms, it never
includes the parent of the synonym in the file.
Would it be better in order to keep a scientific name in the hierarchy
to instead insert that name under the parent tag in the hierarchy rather
than as a synonym?  Seems like an inadequate use of synonyms per se.

  • I have made a 3:40 video in imovie and am trying to export it to youtube.  I have tried every export option and I always get the same message:  We are unable to export your video error code (-50).  I have 50g of space left on my hard drive.

I have Imovie 09 and am using Snow Leopard 10.6.8

I've tried everything, including exporting to Quicktime with the settings suggested by youtube...nothing seems to work and I keep getting the same message:  Unable to Prepare Project for Publishing.  The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (-50)
The original name of the project had parenthesis and I even renamed it so now its just simply "Going Nowhere"

  • Strange "av.mov" files now appearing on every export

Something odd just started happening.. when I export a FCE movie (File>Export>QuickTimeMovie), I now get these strange files (FileName-av.mov, FileName-av.mov1, etc.).
This has never happened before and I can find nothing anywhere about these weird files. I did throw them away and tried to use Sorenson Squeeze and it would not compress the file without those additional files. Once I pulled them out of the trash, Squeeze worked fine!
What are these files? Where did they come from? How do I get my settings back to the way it was!
    Thank you in advance!

My hard drive is formatted correctly... I've been using the same one for 2 years and it's fine. The settings are also correct as suggested.
One other thing I've noticed.... the "render" line on the timeline is yellow, which I've also never seen, but nothing I can do can make that go away... maybe that has something to do with it?

  • When I rearrange the order of my photos in an album, the order does not stick for exporting for a book.

I manally rearrange my photos in an album, the order does not stick when I export to a folder in order to make a book.  Also, if I have given a title to a photo, it does not seem to export with the other pictures in an album.

It's a little vague on what you're workflow is.  So I'll make a guess about the book: if you're dragging those photos into an iPhoto book they will be sorted by date.  So you would have to use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date (with 1 minute between photos) menu option on those photos in the album before dragging them onto the book icon.
Photos exported to a folder on the hard drive will be sorted by the Finder either alphanumerically or chronologically.  To get them in the manual order that's in the album you'll need to rename them via the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Title to Text with a sequential number added to each photo.  Then export to the Desktop with the option to use the Title as the new File name.

  • Importing/Exporting LiveType Files in Final Cut Pro HELP ASAP!!!!

    Heres my issue...
I created a little text animation in LiveType and then decided I wanted to bring it into FCP to put together with a company video I created as the intro. I rendered/exported it from LiveType and then took the final exported video and imported it into FCP. All I can say is, I am very frustrated, because the animation looks very good exported from livetype and in FCP when playing back on the timeline, but when I export it out of FCP, it looks awful and quality/size is all messed up. I made sure to set the canvas in LiveType to match 720p and tried every exporting size under the sun on FCP from 720, 720 16:9, even SD and other weird exporting features and I can not get it too look ok.
Then I tried just going into FCP and Importing just the Livetype file WITHOUT rendering it, and I till had the same issue.
Not sure if I am still mis-matching my settings and/or canvases within both programs, but all I know is I have tried many options and still no luck. If anyone would like to see screen shots, or actually compare video footage of what I am doing when Im exporting (using a screen capture program) let me know and I can email it to you and we can go back and forth to discuss and show images and what not. I really need to get this done for a client project and would help me if I had this answer soon.
    Thanks!

Don't bother rendering a movie out of LiveType, simply save the project file and import it into FCP.
LiveType outputs in the Animation codec only, so you will always have to render. Using the project file has another advantage -right clicking and choosing "Open in Editor" will drop you back into LiveType where you can quickly make adjustments, save and return to FCP with the changes in place.
To set project properties, you can use the Place Background Movie function in LiveType. Drop a short clip in and it will automatically adjust the properties to match. You can delete it once you have the settings. If you have Anamorphic video, you will still need to adjust the pixel aspect ratio -exact settings depend on the format, you haven't told us that yet.
Again, depending on the format, you might have to set the Anamorphic flag in FCP's Item Properties for the LiveType file.
When you view the FCP export in QuickTime Player 7 (not QuickTime Player X) make sure that the High Quality Playback preference is selected.
    Typefaces in video:
Avoid using small, thin, delicate and Serif typefaces. They never work well.
A well known example of a Serif font is Times, which you should avoid at all costs in any case -it makes it look like you made the titles in MS Word. Stick with San Serifs with clear, bold strokes. Helvetica is a popular example of a San Serif.
If your titles are white, reduce the brightness to around 90%. Apply a shadow or border to distinguish them from the background. While it might sound counter productive, applying a tiny amount of blur can help too.
One more thing: Don't put your email address in the body of your post. The forums are open to anyone who wants to read them and by extension, web bots. They will harvest the address and bombard it with spam. We don't do personal email on the forums anyway -we share information amongst all users.

  • Exporting my movie to Windows Media File

I am trying to export a thirty second movie to a Windows Media file in Final Cut Express. However, every time I export it, it only does the first 14 seconds and I do not know why. My in and out points on the timeline are at the beginning and end of the 30 second clip. I have no other idea what could be causing the problem. Help!

You are using a demo version of the Flip4Mac plugin which only exports half of your clip, up to a maximum of 30 seconds.
To do the entire clip you will need to purchase the software.

  • Photo Export consistently fails

    Hello,
I am trying to export photos from my Aperture 3 to a memory stick.  I've taken many photos of a friend's kids and would like to give her copies on the stick.  Every time I try to export a version (because I've made adjustments to the RAW files) as  JPEG I receive an error message telling me that Aperture failed to copy the version.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Orest

Sorry, I should have been more precise.  I'm trying to export to a Memorex USB stick.  I've exported successfully to it in the past from iPhoto.  I checked and it is only half full.
I tried exporting some of the photos from Aperture to my Documents folder and that worked.  Previously they wouldn't export to the USB.  Do I have a very finicky USB?

  • Flip4Mac Trial

So I've imported .avi files to imovie HD, and Flip4Mac appears on every clip. I found flip4mac in my applications folder and deleted it. I tried re-importing the clips, and the watermark is still there. anyone know how to get rid of it? will downloading iLife fix the problem? please help!

Sounds like your AVI really isn't those formats and the codecs used in them are Windows Media Player formats.
On a Mac we need Flip4Mac to open these files via QuickTime or to import them into iMovie. To export them without a watermark you must pay for one of the Flip4Mac upgrades.

  • Having jumpy playback with 60p footage exported to 30p. Pans are worst.

We recently shot a commercial on the Sony FS700 in the native AVCHD codec at 60p. We originally intended to slow the footage down to 30 but the client decided the natural speed worked better. So we simply cut the spot in a 30p sequence and exported. The playback is VERY jittery/jumpy with any vertical lines in the picture, which is very pronounced in any pans. We then cut it in a 60p timeline and exported 60p then converted to 30p, same issue. I did have frame blend on every export.
Exporting 60i does help tremendously, some stations won't accept the 60i file however which sticks us with 30p files which have the issue. The XDCAM 1080 60i file is perfect, however ProRes 30p is not.
    Any ideas on this?

Believe it or not, the Import method can sometimes affect playback. Be sure to copy the entire AVCHD folder structure over from SD card to hard drive, unmodified, then in Premiere use the "Media Browser" to import your clips for best results. A definite plus for any spanned clips for sure, also helps with some audio issues.
Also, my understanding of the Interpret Footage option was that if you put 60p footage into a 30p sequence, and also used "Interpret As 29.97" then the footage ought to be playing back at 50% slow motion speed. Something seems off here.
EDIT: Or maybe that's what you meant, the slowmo is perfect?

  • How do I export detached audio files as separate files, for Pro Tools processing?

My project is a live band performance. I have every song as a separate Event with associated audio. I have detachd all the audio from all the video Events. I now want to Export the audio files to Pro Tools for editing, then Import the edited audio back into FCP X and snap the edited audio to the associated video Events.
My problem is this: FCP X keeps exporting the audio as a single large WAV file, rather than as separate WAV files. In fact, the video events are separate, and so the audio associated with the video Events are separate.
I first renamed the Role of every audio file as "Music", then did a Share --> Export Media of all "Music" audio Roles. After exporting, I found it was one large WAV file, rather than separate files of different sizes.
As a 2nd try, I created Sub-Roles for each audio clip, and named each one with a distinct Sub-Role name. I then Exported all these Sub-Roles (yes, tedious). The result was that every exported WAV file was the same size, the same as the file size in my first try. The only audio that could be heard in each file was the audio in that particular song, but FCP X still created the very large file with silence in all the rest of the file. Since the file lengths don't match the original audio fil lengths, there will be a problem when I Import the edited files back into FCP X and want to Snap them into place.
    Question:
How can I export the individual detached audio clips as separate files, the length of each file equaling the length of the original audio file in FCP X?
Do I need to separate the detached audio into separate Layers visually in the Project Timeline, so they are not touching? Or does this matter?

    No.
You need to explore Compound Clips. This workflow may or may not be of help.
Select an Event with clips in it and press Option+G to make a (blank) compound clip.
Select the Event Browser, create a new Event and call it 'Effects'.
Drag the Compound Clip into this Event.
Right-click the clip and select 'Open in Timeline'.
Select the timeline and press Option+W. This will add a Gap Clip to the timeline.
Select the gap clip and press Ctrl+D then type in the duration you want the clip to be.
Now open a project and select and copy one of the clips with effects etc.
Open the Compound Clip in the Timeline again, select the gap clip and press Option+Cmd+V to paste the effects into your Compound Clip.
This clip is now saved in your Browser and will remain there for you to copy and then paste the effects into any clip in any project.
It's a bit clunky, but it works - and once you learn about Compound Clips, you can work wonders with them. As an example, if you want to add more effects without overwriting the effects in the Compound Clip, simply make the Compound Clip into a Compound Clip (again) and add the effects. They will be added to the original effects.

  • Is there a way to change the default export setting in adobe premier pro cs6?

Every time I do an Export in Premiere CS6 (lots of them daily!), Export Settings open as AVI.
99% of times I use H-264 for that purpose.
It's really annoying and time waisting change settings every export I must do!
    Any solution, please?...

    You can create an action.
Record the action then go to file export select jpeg and then the quality etc and then exort and stop recording the action give it a keyboard shortcut.

On our 6-month old HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Wireless A909g, we can't seem to figure out how to set the DEFAULT printing parameters so they really apply to all docs (unless we designate otherwise for a particular doc, of course).  When we set them, sometimes they work for the next doc, and sometimes they revert back to an earlier setting.
There seem to be three ways to set parameters for the printer: Properties, Printing Preferences or Printing Defaults on the Advanced tab.  (We really thought Printing Defaults on the Advanced tab would do it, since it's so hard to find, but ... NOT.)
My partner thinks it's an HP conspiracy to sell more ink because the reversion is to General with Color (the most ink-intensive, as far as I can figure out).  We are trying to fix the machine to start always with Fast-Economical/Black Ink Only.  Sometimes it's there and sometimes we have to re-jigger first.  We still have to check every time.
Also, I want to fix every job to "Print Back to Front" because the printer shoots out the pages face up.  Again, sometimes it's there, and sometimes we have to re-set before the job.
Also, whether we get the default we had set or we re-jigger first, the settings don't stick for every worksheet in an Excel workbook.  Or sometimes not even every page.
So, who out there has the 100% foolproof guide to NAILING DOWN THOSE SETTINGS FOR EVERYTHING?
