  • DW CS6 fluid grid insert menu options

I'm using Dreamweaver CS6, purchased via Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. I've created a new site and fluid grid. I want to begin inserting fluid grid divs, however, my Insert>Layout menu does not have a menu pick for "insert fluid grid layout div tag"?

The 12.2 update added improvements to the Fluid Grid interface.  You no longer need to insert FluidGrid Div.  Just insert Div and DW will know what you need.

  • Find fluid grid insert div

I hve dw cs6 updated, creative cloud, I never have had the grid div in the insert panel, but it was in layout on the insert menu.  That is now gone.  I am trying to learn the responsive web building with this , and it seems to do pretty good on basic sites, but maybe I missed something.

The last Cloud update made improvements to the Fluid Grid Layouts feature.  DW is more intuitive now.  If you're working in a FGL page, use the Insert Panel > Layout > Division.  DW will insert an appropriate FluidGrid Div for you.

  • "Could not find  Dreamweaver Fluid Grid style sheet error" in Dreamweaver CS6

I have error in Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 which is part of the Creative Suite 6 Master Collection.
Error  was when I trying to use "rubber" <div> layout: "Could not find  Dreamweaver Fluid Grid style sheet". When I clicked on the button in the  sidebar, in the new document.

#1 Go to File > New FluidGrid Layout > select 3rd item > Hit Create button.  See screenshots.
#2  DW will prompt you for a file name and location for your new FluidGrid.css file.  Give your style sheet a name without spaces or special characters eg. MyFluidGrid.css.  Save.
#3 From the SourceCode tag, hit Ctrl+S to Save your HTML Page.  DW will set the corrected path to your external files:
    MyFluidGrid.css
    boilerplate.css
    respond.js
That's all there is to it.

  • How to delete Open Activities in the DTR Web UI? Functions are missing...

    Hi@all,
we have some problems with open activities and files that are checked-out.
To solve this we found this desciption by SAP:
"Deleting Open Activities in the DTR Web UI
Since open activities can be a problem if they cannot be found any longer - for example if a developer
PC crashed - there is a function in the DTR Web UI to delete such activities (ADMINA permissions are
    required).
    1. Open the following URL: http://<host>:<port>/devinf and choose the Design Time Repository link.
    2. Choose the system-tools link.
    3. Choose the Activity search.
    4. Navigate to the workspace that contains an open activity that is no longer needed and cannot be deleted by its owner.
    5. Search for open activities.
    6. For the activity that is no longer needed, choose Revert this activity.
    7. Select the Delete the activity resource also checkbox and confirm with Revert.
The activity is reverted and deleted."
But when we go there, we only found "Activity Search" under "...\system-tools\reports\ActivitySearch", not directly under s"ystem-tools" or "administration".
So all functions for reverting or deleting activities are not there (because of reports?!?), we only can watch them.
Where can we found this? How can we delete activities? in some views files are checked-out, in others they are not... and also activities only can be seen here, not in CBS or somwhere else... we try to solve this by deleting "open" activities.
    Any idea or help?
    thx

Thanks for help, it works (we still "ignore" that dropdown?!? stupid).
    Question:
Is there only deleted the activity or also source code is reverted? Waht is with souce code that is actual?
Because we have some activities on projects that work well, but activities are there for 3 years right now. We want to make NW OK...

It's still there. NOT REMOVED. It's called "All My Files" which can be sorted that way:

  • What are the Photoshop design dimensions for Dreamweaver fluid grid layout?

If I were to build a website using Dreamweavers fluid grid layout, what are the dimensions in Photoshop I should be designing with?

FluidGrid Layouts are based on % widths; not fixed pixel widths.   As such your PShop design comps will need to be planned with these device widths in mind.
    320px - 480px wide = mobile
    481px - 768px width = small tablet
    600px - 1024px width = large tablet
    1024px - 1233px width = desktop/laptop

  • Lost fluid grid layout

    I use dreamweaver cc
I opened and created a page, that worked fine in fluid grid layout.
I then quit out of dreamweaver, then came back to the same page later.
Now when i open that page in dreamweaver cc, i no longer see it with the fluid grid layout or with the fluid grid handles on any of the divs.
I also no longer have the little button in the toolbar next to live button either.... to toggle the fluid layout on and off.
I did see one solution which says to go to view/ visual aids/ display fluid grid layouts
but this does not seem to be available in dreamweaver cc... only dreamweaver cs6.
I have the latest version of dreamweaver cc, and have set up the page correctly.
Thanks in advance to anyone that takes the time to help.

    Hi Nancy,
My operating system is Windows 7, run at our health corporation, (so I can't upgrade to Windows 8 or 8.1.)
Im running Adobe Dreamweaver Creative Cloud built 6733 - the latest version as of today.
The problem I have been experiencing match up with those of many other users over the last 2 years.  There's quite a few posts reporting the same type of thing that I am.  Basically it's to do with the Fluid layout controls and the icon on the toolbar that first appears once you've created a new webpage controlled by the fluid layout stylesheet.  These are first there, but after restarting DW they are gone.
    i.e.
I create an HTML5 webpage saved as 'default.asp'  and a fluid grid stylesheet named fg-styles.css.
The Fluid Grid layout controls are all there.  (I am doing nothing else, no injection of code nothing.)
    Then I close Dreamweaver
On reopening of Dreamweaver and all files, when looking at the default.asp file in Design view, the fluid grid hide/show icon on the toolbar and the fluid grid controls when clicking inside the fluid div no longer show.
I get this every single time, even after rebooting my computer.
The controls also strangely disappear during a session when I am adding new blocks within the fluid grid panel.
I am so close now from discontinuing using this tool and looking elsewhere for fluid grid solutions.
It seems such a powerful tool, but what use is it if it is unstable.  Really, DW should not roll out such tools until they have been proven to work reliably.
Also documentation should be provided that makes clear when this tool cannot be used reliably and workaround solutions.
I have now spent a solid 10 hours on this, and created countless versions of the same page.
Admittedly at one stage I discovered that when adding the classic ASP line above my HTML5 code that this would not work after Dreamweaver saved my document as an .asp file, but even .html files still experience all kinds of bugs with this tool.
I hope this kinda explained what problems I am facing.
    Thanks again for your time.
I will now move on to other fluid grid solutions, but am happy to re-look at the DW tool if there is a sure-fire way that fixes my problems.

  • Adapt existing web site with fluid grid layout

    Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if I could take a exisiting website and using Dreamweaver CS6 (which I don't owned at the moment) "easily" create associated fluid layout for tablets and smartphones.
Or do I have to start a new website "from scratch" to get the fluid layout?
I'm just beginning with website creation (only 2 at the moment) and I tried out  Dreamweaver 5.5 at the beginning of 2012... since I didn't find any other tools that could do the job like I feel Dreamweaver can, I'm in the process of convincing myself I should buy Dreamweaver CS6.... I won't hesitate much longer if I could take a existing website and be able to easily adapt it to fluid layout.
    Thanks for your help
    Sebastien

You would have to start over with a whole new Layout.  Once you get that designed, then you would need to insert content.  There is no magic button for converting existing sites to Fluid Grid Layouts because it's more complicated (3 CSS layouts instead of one).
In addition, Fluid Grid is a new feature in CS6 that still needs some refinement.  In order to build responsive designs that work in all devices, you must understand the technology.

hi friends...I need a help with this question...very urgent...
I am getting an error message of " P&L not complete and functional areas missing"
I dont exactly know what needs to be done for that.
How do i define a missing fuctional area ?

    Hi,
In IMG under the "Enterprise structure" you will define the Functional areas.
Also you can define:IMG-.>Fin.Accting basic settings->Define Func.Area.In the next step, you enter Functional area:IMG-.>Fin.Accting basic settings->enter Functional area.->enter Functiona area in GL master.
Once entered, the system will ask for Functional area for the relevant GL a/c.
    If usefull assign points.

  • Fluid grid for Wordpress: insert PHP code into DW or DW code into Wordpress?

This may be a stupid question but it's a dilemma for me. Here's the problem. I want to create a mobile first, fluid grid Wordpress website in Dreamweaver CS6 based on an existing Wordpress theme. I can see two ways of doing that:
    1) Create a fluid grid layout in DW, then insert the Wordpress PHP code into the right places in DW
Pro: the fluid grid layout is set up by DW and therefore can be easily edited with DW (I imagine)
Con: It is beyond my coding skills to make a fully functional WP template
    2) Take an existing responsive Wordpress template with media queries and edit that in Dreamweaver
Pro: I start with a fully functional WP template and only have to make changes (mostly in CSS) to customise it
Con: When I start with an existing template (like Skeleton) I run into trouble using DW
For example: I click a navigation button to get at the CSS but it's not clear to me from DW's interface in which media query I have to make changes. I did a tutorial on creating a fluid grid layout with DW so I can do that. But DW doesn't work the same way with an existing WP template like Skeleton. I searched the web but all I can find is help on creating a fluid layout with DW, not editing an existing one.
By the way, I am experienced with HTML/CSS but not PHP and I have a local Wordpress server running on my Mac so I can work in Dreamweaver's Live View.
The problem may be that I am only just starting with responsive web design and need some more experience with media queries, css rules and DW CS6. Could anyone comment on this problem or point me towards more information on the subject?
    TIA!

You can certainly use DW to customize a 3rd party WP Theme.  However, you must be throughly familliar with how WordPress Themes work and have a good working knowledge of  HTML, CSS and PHP code.  Design View will not be much help to you.
WP Themes are a sum of their various parts:  header.php, footer, php, sidebar.php, page.php, index.php, archive.php, etc...  The web server parses code from the various parts and creates whole pages on the fly.  Once WP is deployed on your server, you cannot use DW to edit content.  You must use the WP Admin Panel (CMS) to manage content, Themes, plugins and backup data.
For simple static sites, the FluidGrid Layout feature in DW is a nice starting point.  But these layouts have definite  limitations which, IMO would not be a good fit with WordPress.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 Fluid Grid Layout

I fear there may not be a solution to this issue! I have placed several hotspots on an image in a Fluid Grid Layout div in DW CS6 and the problem is quite straightforward. Whilst the "image" reduces perfectly when viewed in Tablet and Smartphone screens the "hotspots" remain in the same position they were at in the Desktop view! The result is the same irrespective of which view you set the hotspots in. Is there a solution to this problem or is it insurmountable?

OK.  Let's just paste the script into your HTML page and see if that works.
Open your page in code view.
    Replace this:
    <!--maphighlight-->
    <script src="fancybox/maphighlight.js"></script>
    <!--fancybox-->
    With all of this:

  • Insert Fluid grid layout div tag pastes CSS

I am trying to create a new fluid grid layout.  I am able to insert 2 new layout divs, but after that, the "Insert Fluid grid layout div tag" fails.  I am in "split" display, and the code view shows CSS instead of the HTML, and the design view shows a page of  CSS code.
Control-Z always backs me up to the proper display of code and design, but the CSS file does not contain the definitions for the newly-inserted DIV.
    Before insert:
    After insert:

Yes.  I created a new site, named as you see, for the files created as I learn the new features in CS6.
The problem I am seeing is 100% reproducable. The 1st 2 layout divs are inserted correctly, then all after that fail.  After the 2nd screen shot above, a single ^Z will restore the code & display panes.  I have learned that I can quickly switch into editing the CSS file, paste in the definitions for the new div (a pain, but do-able), then I can do all of the other editing, resizing, etc.
One thing I have not tried, but will, is to remove my custom key-mapping and try this in a standard workspace.
