FM for characterstic value of a function location (asset)

Hi All,
Can any one please tell me the FM module to be used for finding the characterstic value for a given characterisctic name of a function location in IL03 (classification).
I have tried using BAPI_CLASS_GET_CHARACTERISTICS, but it is not yielding the desired results.

Hi,
I don't know why you are not getting the proper reult.
BAPI_OBJCL_GETDETAIL iis uesd to get both character and numeric values back form the classes.
Check this:

For a Functional location for which a characeteristic values is maintained as"1",i want "user status of the mainteance order,when created to be updated as "XXX".Can any one of you tell me the user exit and code changes for this.Please reply at the earliest.

HI joshita,
I had a similar issue in the past where i wanted to attach permit to an order based on some characteristic of functional location at user exit 'IWO10002 - Customer check for order release'.
This will solve your purpose during release of the order.
You can also use the exit 'IWO10009 - Customer Check for 'Save' Event', this will check irrespective of the status of the order.

Function Module for Changing status of a Functional Location.

Hello,
I am writing a Proxy for changing the Functional Location (T code IL02).
I need to set the Deletion flag for the Functional Location.
Can any body help me with how to do this. As data will be coming from XI and I have to update the Functional location in background with function modules.
I am using 'BAPI_FUNCLOC_CHANGE' for changing other data. But I am not able to set the Deletion flag with this BAPI.

You need to find the latest EQUZ record for the equipment, this will be the one that is valid to 31.12.9999. Using value of EQUZ-ILOAN, find the ILOA record. If installed, the ILOA-TPLNR field will show the functional location.

I am not sure whether it would work with LSMW but if your on ECC 6.00 ,Enhacement Pack 3 then you have BADIs which allow you to make collective status changes in IW38 .The below are those BADIs :-
BADI_EAM_RIAUFK20_FCODE_CUS1 :Implement Customer Function Code in Order List
BADI_EAM_RIAUFK20_FCODE_SAP1 :Implement SAP Function Code in Order List
Else if your on lower version then write up a batch programme which checks the PM Order types with specific status and sets user status using FM STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN[This is used to set or delete User Status] in SE37 ..

Error in 2LIS_17_I0NOTIF for functional location

Hi,
I am activating the standard contet for DSO 0PM_DS02 and it gets the data from DS 2LIS_17_I0NOTIF and 2LIS_18_I0NOTIF.
I have a field in DS as TPLNR(Functional loc.) and it has a SS Conv Routine as TPLN at BI level.
When data is loaded into BI I am getting Functional location data in weird format for example : ?0100000000000000026 every functional location record is preceeded by '?' and when I check in the RSA3 of source system it shows dara in this format : T002-S01-U01-TG -GENSYS
I dont know how this discrepency is coming.
I have checked the sap note 801606 but its not of a much help.

Hi,
I jsut installed that infoobject (0FUNCT_LOC) in my system to solve your query and found out that conversion routine is BWTPL by defualt i guess in your infoobject its selected something different.
Please give a try to it and also double click on that coversion routine and cehck what it says.

Can I create 1 repair order for many equipments / functional locations?

Dear Experts,
I'm trying to create 1 single order for many equipments in different functional locations but it seems like the fields for "equipment" and "functional location" in Operation tab are not allowed to enter.
What is the Tcode to open up those fields?
Or is there any other ways of doing?

1. Object list Activate
IMG => PM & CS => Maintenance & Service Processing => Maintenance & Service Orders => Functions & Settings => Define notification & Order Integration
Select Assignment of operations to Object List entries active in Enh. Object list column for your order type.
2. Then create the order in IW31. Assign all the equipments in object list tab. Define the operations in operation tab. Go to object list & select equipment one by one & click Assignments button in the bottom. In pop-up window, select the operations for that particular equipment. One operation can be assigned to only one operation. If same operation requires for more than one equipment, then different operation rows should be defined.
3. Click Settlement rule button in the top (If you want to create settlement rule manually). Based on your equipment entry in object list, enter the cost center & % of cost to be settled.
4. If you want to automate settlement rule creation, as mentioned in previous posts, use the user exits. Transaction code for user exit is SMOD. ABAP people will write the code based on your input for settlement rule creation.

Partner data from Functional Location to Equipment

Dear Expert,
How can I transfer partner data (Bill to party, Ship to party) from Functional Location to Equipment. I have tried with 'Install with data transfer' but there is no option available for partner.
Is there is any other way to transfer partner data while assigning Equipment to Functional Location.

Functional Location should Auto Populate when installed Equipment is select

Hi All,
In our client I have made the Functional location mandatory field during the Notification and Maintenance Order creation.
When a Work Order or Notification is created with Equipment number then Functional Location is not automatically populated.
If we create Notification and Order through IH01 then only functional location is coming automatically but I need through IW21 and IW31.
Can anybody please tell me how I can achieve this functionality?

Hi,
The functional location will be automatically populated in IW21/31 when you enter the equipment. However there is a problem if you make the functional location field mandatory. In that case the system expects user to fill the functional location field before any logic is executed to set a default. The screen processing, including checks for required fields, is processed first. So an error will be generated asking the user to fill the f/loc field. They will not be able to proceed until the field is filled by user input.
The solution is to not make the functional location field mandatory. You can then implement exits QQMA0014 (for notifications) and IWO10009 (for orders) to check that functional location field is not empty.

i have to write a report that displays the class and class descriptions for a function location. the user passes in either the function location(TPLNR) or the class name and the report should display the the class characteristics and resp. values. Is there a FM that i coud use?

ABC Indicator for Equipment & Functional Location Same or Different

Hi All,
We can find ABC indicators in both Equipment & Functional Location (FL) master data.
Q. Please tell me....whether these fields are different for Equipment & FL or same??
Problem is that I could see the same field name ABCKZ for both Equipment & FL in tables V_EQUI & ILOA respectively.

*The ABC indicator can be entered in equipment as well as functional locations.*
An indicator that is assigned by the procedure of ABC analysis.
The following ABC indicators are possible:
A - Important
B - Less important
C - Relatively unimportant
According to these criteria, "A" materials are those materials that are of greatest importance for the production operations of a company.
Examples of use for ABC indicators are vendor master records, material master records, and master records of *technical objects.*
So ABC indicator is same for equipments and Functional LocationBUT value may be diferent
