FMIS restarting and memory issue

I have Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5.5 on Windows 2008 server. I developed video chat application (many to many), it's only 1 FMS application with about 50-100 room instances and 1 lobby instance to which all users are connected. There are up to 600 - 700 users at a time which produce about 2000-2500 connections to FMS.
Problem I have is with steady raise of memory usage, which if goes little above 2GB will make FMS unresponsive and it would restart itself after about 1-2hours. To avoid that Im restarting FMS manualy every 3-4 days. Interesting thing I noticed is that if I restart FMS from admin console, used RAM memory won't fall at levels as if it would right after whole Windows server is restarted.
In my Application.xml there are following configs:
<Scope></Scope>
<Distribute numprocs="3">Instances</Distribute>
These are things from logs during FMS unresponsive period or right before it:

Please help me with this issue.

Thanks for your answers, I'm replying with delay because I wanted to check these things some more.
When I said 'memory is not less', I meant that total memory in Windows after FMS restart doesn't return to memory levels when Windows is restarted, but I guess that's because of some Windows processes and not connected to FMS.
As for FMS processes, these are the things are notice, few hours after FMS restart I get 1 FMSCore.exe that is around 200-220MB, and 3-4 FMSCore's that are around 40-70MB. Size of that largest FMSCore.exe doesn't go down even when there are much less users connected to FMS. And like I said before, after 3 or more days of running FMS becomes unresponsive, and restarts itself. Right after FMS restart largest FMSCore.exe weights around 70MB but 15mins after it's already 120MB as users connect to video chat application.
As for logs, my core.log files have several lines like:

  • I have a battery and Memory issue - late macbook pro 2011

Macbook Pro 13" Late 2011 Model
    Battery Issue
After upgrading to Lion, my batter life is 3 hours after full charge. It was 7-8 hours in leopard.
Hoping this is a common issue and someone has a quick solution.
    Memory Issue
I had 4GB Ram and found it would run to virtually nothing and not free any inactive RAM. I though the solution to this was to buy more RAM, which I did.
I now have 8GB RAM and it agains runs to virtually nothing on non labour intensive software like safari or mail. It doesnt free up any RAM when it reaches a certain point. Instead it freezes and I'm forced to restart the computer. I use Final Cut Pro X and Photoshop/Illustrator fairly regualry. I'm assuming the RAM is is used with those but even when these are closed the RAM is low.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers

You should take your Mac to an official apple retail store, as it is not common to have these problems regarding battery and memory.

  • IMessage and Memory issues since updating iPhone to ios 8.1.3

I stupidly updated my iPhone 5S due to the idea of a wider variety of emojis and now everything has gone wrong. My iMessage keep disappearing and reappearing or not coming through at all on my phone but they're all still coming through perfectly fine on my Macbook. As well as the iMessage issue my iPhone keeps on insisting me memory is full even though I've deleted pretty much everything, nothing loads my screen just crashes then goes back to homepage...my patience is running low and by the looks of Twitter I'm not the only one facing these issue my only wonder now is what, if anything can I do?

    Greetings Nezza80,
After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error when viewing videos. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • IQ826t Restart and Heating Issue

One thing I definitely do not like the HP's support especially when they will not allow us to buy a 7 Upgrade from Vista nor will they support something (even when I find their glitches and they admit after telling me it was just the OS).. On Repair work, I had to ship it out and this will be my 2-3 time to do repair on this PC in the past 3 years (and I have to wait a week for the repair to be done...)
    Besides that, IQ826t, Win 7 Ultimate SP1
All Drivers are up to date with HP website (utilizing Win 7 64 bit drivers and Firmware is up to date). AVG update/scan (no issue - confirmed even rootkit).. Malwarebyte - Scan and no issue
Disk Cleanup, Disk Defragmentation done on a monthly and quarterly schedule
    Biggest Issue:
I am getting a crash with Win 7 0x124 Stop Error Message (happens periodically and even after a reboot)
Never had this issue until May and the upgrade to Win 7 was done last year with SP1 update done on March (so it is not an issue with the OS as HP support personnel seems to think... I proved them the issue with Windows Update History, The  Bluescreen error code on my error code reader)..  This machine under warranty and I had issues with it constant (even in Vista)
They state that it is the OS.. Again, if that was the case, I would think it would happen right away like my Toshiba on SP1 upgrade... That was not the case in the matter.  I have a firmware reset (default settings) and the issue persist..
The Error Code relates always HAL.dll or ntoskrnl.exe
One if hardware compatiblity and the other is an OS kernel exe file.. And this usually checking knowledge base relates to hardware failing due to 1) Compatibility (which HP website confirms is not the case) 2) OS corruption (which is not the case checking on safe mode and this happening STILL 3) Heat Issue (which I believe is the issue and was been documented on the Internet
What I am noticing is the unit is extremely HOT (vent is almost burning when it has been off and just turned on).. I wonder if the hardware pieces are literally melting to destruction since I can't just open it up (they state it will void my warranty)
The Symptoms before the Crash (happens any time.. Even right after a power up)
If you are playing audio or video, you will start to hear jitters and sound seems to echo itself .. Video would start to lag and become choppy..  Systems start to slow down and things seem to run very slow.. I have seen the power light on the PC start on but the touchscreen just go black (will not restart sometimes)..
Minor Issues (but could be related)
    1) When running PC Hardware Diagnostic, they will come up with an error code in the past and that was warranted for a motherboard replacement (of course, they ship the box to the wrong location and I was in the middle of my wedding so I get to it now).. It was pertaining to PCI Express Status ICH9 PCI Express Root Port  where it will generate an error code... Now, running the diagnostic... I will not get any error but PCI Express Root Port 3 & 5 do not show up on the diagnostic... Wouldn't that obvious show something that is a problem when there are 6 ports (which on the previous diagnostic that I can't grab past logs shows that). That is not warranted for a warranty work? Just a note, I got the fail test code (which was intermittent but keep happening and the tech support would not look at previous case.. Port 4 failed and a fatal device code)
    2) Blu-Ray player will not run and their answer is that it is your Blu-Ray until they realize that I ran it on 3 different Blu-Ray player standalone, different Blu-Ray, and confirm DVD will work.. They still think it is a software issue until they can't deny my point when it will not read the Blu-Ray no matter what (they took control and confirmed it).. They believe the HP SmartDVD software was failing because of Win 7 and not Vista (even when I downgrade and confirm it works, I stated the software is the issue...  Lone and behold, 2 months later they had an update that they refuse to admit I was RIGHT on the matter and done 15 hours of troubleshooting that they were wrong about)
    3) Wireless Keyboard and Mouse lost connectivity even if the battery is not low... Just stop typing or omit letters.. This is considering the keyboard is literally in front of the touchscreen
    4) Touchscreen is sensitive when it wants to be but won't in other... Constant issues there
This is why I have so much issue with support.. They seem to show that they will do anything to deny the issue.. Heck, I am a computer technian calling on the issue.. It ain't like I didn't troubleshoot on the matter... But they think we are all morons and when I prove them wrong, they will use any excuse to honor warranty... That is why it is amazing..

Look in your Settings > App Manager.
    Tap Device Monitor.
    Tap the Battery tab.
At the upper right, tap "Since Last Charge" to change to "Last 48 Hours".
What apps or processes are consuming the most battery power?
ALSO, in setting up your new Z30, are you syncing many contacts or calendar data from a connected email account?
Social accounts such as Facebook or Twitter?

  • Firefox 3.6.8 and memory issues

After the last update to 3.6.6, I disabled plugin-container per the instructions given on the forum, and my RAM problems went away. However, after the automatic update to 3.6.8, the memory problems came back, with memory usage going up to 92%. I downgraded to 3.6.4, and turned plugin-container off again; while memory usage is currently at 84%, it is not as low as it was before the upgrade to 3.6.8. (79-80%) (There is very little difference in the websites being opened on the various tabs.)
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == I upgraded to 3.6.8

ffs guys. It's a free browser. It's cool. We love it. But can we do something about memory issues? Almost every release has huge memory leaks.
How about halving the release points and focus on memory issues for the other half of the time. I am a long time user since way back in the day and it seems to me that instead of trying to release so many versions, we should be focused more fixing the current release.
I say put a moratorium on new features until bloat can be fixed. These experiences are starting to give me a hardon for IE again.
Screw new features. I can deal with plain old tabs like they are. I don't need more bells and whistles. This browser has been kicking ass and taking names for a loonnnggggg time. We don't need more bloat. Keep the security fixes coming but everything else can wait. Take a breath. Stop and smell the roses for a few weeks.

  • IPad 1 and memory issues

I mean this thing is slooowwww. Many apps crash back to the home screen. I have an app called System and it is showing Wired: 59MB at 36.56% What is this? Apps that are automatically on my iPad? Active shows 2MB at 13.90% and I have nothing running except this app. The reason I am bringing all this up is I was wondering is there any way to speed this iPad up? I mean the memory is atrocious! This thing is slow. And it is a brand new one that I got from the Apple store. Granted, it is not an iPad 2, as I do not have unlimited wealth, as Apple assumes we all do, it is the iPad 1. Maybe the memory issue is having too many apps downloaded? I have absolutely nothing running in the background as I close every app I open because the iPad is so slow and crashes even default email back to the home screen at times! I just want to make this thing faster like the day I first got it. Right now, it is serving as a paper weight as I can't keep anything running for very long. Things run smoothly, yes, but many things do not. Still wondering what this Wired section is, as it is taking up so much of my memory. I have only 88MB free and as soon as I open any app, that diminishes rather quickly.

No it's not jailbroken. I will never do that to any of my devices. I am talking about memory. I have plenty of storage. Just tired of apps crashing back to the home screen.

  • UC540 and memory issues

I had a customer with a UC540 call approx. three or four days ago, and he couldn't get from his home PC into his work PC via RDP.  The work PC is behind a UC540.  He restarted the UC540 (power cycle) and it seemed to start behaving.
Today he was having voice quality issues and I noticed a decent amount of jitter on the line (I use PingPlotterPro to monitor his Internet connection).  So I had him power-cycle his AT&T U-Verse modem.  After that, he was unable to get any Internet connections so he had to power-cycle his UC540.
Things seemed to improve a bit for a while, but then call quality suffered and I started to dig into the UC540 a bit, looking at its built-in diagnostics page.  The output on the diagnostics page had this:

I'm truncating those logs a bit, I'm not sure how many lines helpers here may need telling us we're low on memory.
So I'm not sure how to proceed.  After a reload, the SIP trunk takes maybe a call or two, and then I can't call in any more.  I'm not sure about calling OUT, I'm remote to the site.
Any ideas on where to start?

    Hi
I have seen this in the past as well. I recommend the following:
    1) Disable DNS Server on UC540, then point all LAN PCs to using public DNS such as Google: 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 This can be done manually for static or by changing DHCP Server scope options
    2) Make sure that the firewall is enabled on the UC540 WAN interface
    3) Ensure you are using the latest IOS version for the UC540 platform.
It could be that your router is under attack or is participating in a DNS attack via your client computers.
    Kind regards.

  • Restart and login issue

My macbook is running  Mac OS X 10.7.1 (LION).
Everytime I try to restart Mac OS and load until the login page, I try to enter the password. Once I key in the first few character, the system hang and the spinning ball will keep spinning non stop.
May I know what is the problem?

This sounds almost identical to the issue I've been ripping my hair out over for the last week (and so far you're the only other similar report I could find). Basically, ML frequently (but not always) fails to get to the login screen. The apple logo + spinnin cursor complete, but then I'm left with a blank, gray screen with a moveable (but useless) cursor.
I've tried reinstalling multiple times (clean, different partition / disk, updating previous 10.7 system, over virgin 10.7 system) to no avail. I've also tried the following with no luck:
    - Disk Utility repair permissions & repair disk
    - PRAM reset
    - SMC reset
    - Unplugging all USB & firewire devices except keyboard & mouse
    - Replacing GTX-285 graphics card with stock GT-120
    - Removing all other PCI cards
    - Swapped monitor input from DVI-D to DVI-I, used different cable
I captured logs of a successful and failed boot, and the biggest difference I can spot is that while the Window Server seems to be adding + removing the monitor multiple times, on the failure the last entry is a disconnect:
7/31/12 9:16:06.058 AM WindowServer[117]: Received display connect changed for display 0x28d9b380
Whereas on login success, the last WindowServer log message is one that seems repeated multiple times previously:
    7/31/12 9:44:10.924 AM WindowServer[102]: Display 0x28d9b380: MappedDisplay Unit 0; ColorProfile { 2, "LCD2490WUXi"}; TransferFormula (1.000000, 1.000000, 1.000000)
I'm definitely thinking it's something to do with the display (which functions perfectly fine under Lion), but can't think what it would be. It's an NEC 2490WUXi, and I'm connecting via a single DVI output on the graphics card (either GTX-285 or GT-120).
What display / graphics card combo are you using?

ulimit -s in linux gave me 10240
I monitored memory via system monitor. I found that my memory started to grow from 786MB to 1.8G
I tried creating a thread pool for 3000 Realtime thread.... My Single CPU got utilized 100% and its used 3.1GB for memory out of 3.3 and code started to hang..
My question is. How much memory does a normal realtimeThread consumes... Is there any limit in creating Realtime thread... and Why does is consumes a lot of memory. If i need to do any fine tuning please do let me know.
Hardware is not an issue in my case....
Right now i am using viritual box. We are running our code in seperate RTLinux box.

    Hi Ashok ,
Cost Component Structure Applies for both Plan and Actuals ...hence mentioning admin o/h as not relevant for inventory will not serve your purpose.
Only workaround i see it to use a negligible quantity as Admin overhead is routing . Like (0.00001) Hour .
Standard  Cost will have a negligible Admin overhead and in actual you will book actual hours will be be part of actual cost
    This will solve your Issue..

  • StringBuffer and memory issue

I am having trouble. I have a fairly large string buffer that I use instead of a file. The String Buffer can grow to 5-10 MB.
When it grows, it seems that the memory of the JVM basically doubles each time.
To grow the string buffer, I append to it each time, and I have tried making its initial size 1-2 mb for testing purposes.
Is there some way to prevent the jvm from growing it's memory by 2 X each time? It seems wasteful, and when many users are logged in, 10 mb per 10 users gets to be a lot. Please advise??

A StringBuffer will indeed double the storage it uses every time an overflow occurs. Given that it has no idea how large its contents will ultimately be, doubling its size on overflow is statistically the best possible approach.
Seems to me, by choosing a StringBuffer instead of a file, you have considered the memory/speed trade-off and chosen higher speed, higher memory instead of lower speed, lower memory. And isn't it true that the issue is mostly that you are using multi-megabytes of memory, rather than that more megabytes of memory are potentially being wasted? If you are only concerned about the extra allocation that StringBuffer makes, you could call its setLength() method to clean up the waste after it reaches its maximum size.

  • Clearing cmos and memory issues msi 7093 motherboard

Hello all,  well here's my problem I have a msi 7093 mb with a nvidia 6600gt and 1 gb of ram(4 sticks of 3200 256mb). the pc has been running great even with the nvidia card. I decide to add more memory today and here is where my problem started. I added 2x512 sticks. I put the 1 512 stick in slot 1 and the other in slot 3, so i had 1 gig in one channel and 512 in the 2nd channel(2x256).It booted fine except when I went to computer options it only showed 1 gig instead of 1.5 gb. I ran cpu-z and it listed the memory as dual channel 1 gig in channel 1 and 512 in 2nd channel. for some reason windows only showed 1 gig. I restarted the pc and went into the bios to see what was shown and it showed 104824...k was like  10 numbers but the 1st 4 were 1048 and it eneded with k. I exited bios without saving and thats when it stoped working I got that memory beep one beep over and over again. I removed all the ram and just left the 2 512 sticks in and all the power came on, no beeps but the monitor wont come on. the monitor doesnt give the monitor is not connect message it gives the out of range type screen. I removed the video card and tried to use the igp but same thing, I tried different memory sticks and the same. I havent tried to clear the cmos because I'm not sure how to do it with this board, I know theres a sticky here showing how but I cant find it.  Sorry for the long post was trying to explain all that happened and what i tried, please help(:
                                                                                 thank you,
                                                                                        stuart

hello all, here's the update, I was finally able to reset the cmos, had to remember how to do it  its working fine now, I couldn't get it to report all the ram with the way I wanted to do it( 1gig in one channel and 512 in the other channel)So I have it as 756 in each channel now. just to clarify the reason I was trying to set it up initially was because I was told it would be better to have it that way. i was told that it will use all the memory in the 1st channel first then when it needs more it will go look in the 2nd channel which will take more time to do. Is that true or does it make any difference? just wondering why it wouldnt report all the ram when it was configured that way? Once again thank you for the help

  • DKA790GX Platinum and memory issues

I've had my dka790gx platinum now for approximately 2 weeks.
    Build is as follows
    DKA790GX-Plat - bios v1.6
    AMD Phenom II X4 940
    2 x 2gb Corsair Dominator 1066 (5-5-5-15 @ 2.1)
    Gigabyte HD 4870x2
    Creative X-Fi Extreme GF-PS
    Tagan 900BZ
It has been working fine but all off a sudden I started getting the dreaded BSOD in vista 'apc_index_mismatch' and 'memory_management' - I've ran memtest and on the first test @ 45% the system reboots with 4gb of memory in. This happens whether it is running @ 800mhz or 1066mhz, I've also tried 4 x 1gb of corsair xms2 ddr 800mhz and get actually the same issue. If I run 2gb of memory then all tests are ran without any problems and again this is for both the dominator memory running @ 800 and 1066mhz, and also the xms2 memory.
I've then ran another test using the 2 x 1gb xms2 + 2 x 512mb xms2 (all ddr2 800) to give total of 3gb and ensuring all 4 memory slots are populated, and again all tests run fine.
I've tried the memory in ganged mode and unganged mode, but it doesn't make a difference, once i go over 3gb I have the problem, so is this a motherboard fault (i've opened support ticket but had to miss some info as it meant fully stripping down the pc to get hold of the sticker on the side of the pci slot) or a cpu fault seeing the memory controllers are on the cpu?

As far as overheating is concerned, it really shouldn't be a problem. Before getting a cooler for my RAM, it would get too hot to touch during full load, but would never run into any sort of problem. If you don't believe me have a look at what a SUPER*TALENT Stick looks like: http://www.pcstats.com/articleimages/200702/supertalentT1000UX2G4_full.jpg - Compare that to the dominator, The SuperTalent has to be just about the ugliest MEM-SINK you could ever lay eyes on  EXCELLENT RAM though
Kind of a really silly question here: when testing below 4gb, you are testing both sticks, right? I mean they look identical, a small distraction & you're putting the same one back in...happened to me...
yep memory was tested as single chips, also as stated previously testing 4 x 1gb of other memory caused memtest to fail, but 4 x 512mb passed, so did 2 x 1gb + 2 x 512mb
memtest fails all the time when have 4gb of memory in this mother in any combination, but using pc-check all memory passes, if my works had a ddr-2 memory checker then I would have also teste the memory in that as that will pick out memory faults better than any software
Also when the dominator is in slot 1 there is about 1cm between heatsink and dominator fins at the most, so this be a possible cause of the memory getting too hot especially as I would leave the machine on 24/7, but as I've re-setup another machine to do the stuff this machine was doing then i'm hoping i don't see the problem..

  • Boot Problems and memory issues on MSI k9a2 plat

I have problems booting after doing a bios flash. Gives me a error of bad checksum. Can't save any settings. I got to flash bios back to 112 so wanna know what is the CORRECT way to reboot/ clear cmos /or do i just restart.
Also my memory do not wanna run in dual channel. Will look for book of PSU to see ratings.
MODS sorry for going onto other people threads but thought due to me having same issues that it better to post there.

    Read Moan Guide
You use Phenom CPU?(My guess according to my )

  • 890FXA-GD70-Not Posting and Memory Issues

Purchased new 890FXA-GD70 board over the weekend and I am having problems after new build. Board will not post with 2 stick of Corsair DDR3 4GB PC1600 in slots 1 and 2. I removed one stick in slot 2 and board posted. I installed all drivers and Win 7 pro and added the second stick into slot 2 and will not post again. I moved the 2GB stick to slot 3 and the computer boots and seems to run fine. Should'nt DDR3 be run in slots 1 and 2?
    System
    CPU-AMD Phenom II x4 945
    Motherboard-890FXA-GD70
    Memory-Corsair DDR3 4GB 2 sticks at 2GB each PC1600 Dual
    Video Card-EVGA GTS250 512MB
Hard Drives-Western Digital Black Edition  500Gb
    OS-Windows 7 Professional
    Power Supply-Corsair 750

After checking the boards and google search, it appears that several other people are having the same issue. If the memory sticks are placed in dimm1 and dimm3 the board seems to post and runs fine. But that will not produce dual channel memory. Should I change memory to another brand? What is the best memory for this board. The computer has been running all day and seems to be stable but, just worried that memory is still incorrect and only have 10 days to return to Frys. I have also flashed the bios to 1.6! It appears that after reading several other post on this forum, they had to return the board, could I have a bad board?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Ian,
If you are using third generation phone(7970, 79x1, 79x2, 79x5), then there is no fix for it.
This is what I got latest update.
There are a couple of things that need to be kept in mind:
    1.       Phones will unregister from the CUCM and register to the SRST GW
    2.       GW will tear down Q.931 backhauling from CUCM and will function as a standalone call agent.
The phones will lose either SCCP or TCP keepalives. TCP keepalives being missed generally trigger SRST much faster than SCCP keepalives being missed.
The phones will register to the GW even if Q.931 backhauling has not been torn down. Hence, there might be a brief period where the phones have registered to the GW but the PRI is still MGCP controlled. In such a case, calls will initially fail. After some time (and this is post the 30 second MGCP KA) the Q.931 backhauling will be torn down (isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager will be removed) and the PRI will function as if it has been configured on an H.323 GW. Here we need to understand that the phones showing "Registering" or "CM Fallback Service Operating" are not indicative of the GW going into SRST. The phones will go into SRST much faster than the Q.931 backhauling being torn down.
The behavior you are seeing is the mechanism for timing out a TCP connection and has nothing to do with the SCCP keepalive itself.  Any time the phone sends a TCP packet to the server and does not receive a TCP Ack.  The phone will retransmit the packet at decreasing intervals until the session is timed out (phone sends TCP RST) and at that point the phone will failover to the next CCM server or SRST reference.
The SCCP keepalives are sent at regular intervals, based on a value presented to the phone during registration (30 seconds by default). If the phone gets a TCP ack for the keepalive, but no SCCP keepaliveAck from the server then you can get into the situation where the phone unregisters due to keepalive timeout (after 2 or 3 such missed keepaliveAcks).
The former is a network problem, the latter is an application problem where, the network layer of the CCM server is acknowledging that the message was received but the CCM application is not responding.
You will note in your example when the phone registers with the SRST router the sccp Alarmmessage it sends will contain a string like "last=TCP Timeout" or similar.
The 3rd gen phones (7970, 79x1, 79x2, 79x5) are much more aggressive in timing out the TCP session than the 2nd gen phones. What took your 7960 26 seconds to unregister will take a 7965 about 8 seconds.
