Fmle drops connection every 60 seconds

Anyone have an idea why fmle 2.1 on windows would be sending a stream and every 60 seconds log
Unexpected error encountered in encoding process
Encoding stopped
Session stopped
stream unpublish succes
network closed status
then immediately republish the stream.
looking at things with Wireshark, when that error goes there is a tcp RST packet. (reset) followed immediately by SYN and ACK packets as the connection reestablishes.
every 60 secs, like a clock...

Actually the video/audio is streaming normally. Log trace:

This setup has been working normally for some time, streaming vp6/mp3 to fms 2. After recently moving the server to a new location, the Unexpected error is occurring every 60 seconds.  with  fmle <=v.3 it results in a crash of fmle. in fmle 3.1 on windows the application resumes the stream as seen in this trace. On OS X fmle the error doesn't occur at all.  Nothing appears in the fms error logs.
As noted in the first post, the client sends the server a TCP RST packet, resetting the connection, then immediately a SYN packet to reconnect.
I have no idea what event it occurring every 60 seconds, or why fmle is resetting the connection...the pix firewall on the network is showing no refusals.

  • Cisco SD2008 v3 switch dropping connections every few hours

Hi, I have a Cisco SD2008 v3 switch at the office that routinely drops connections every few hours and must be turned off/on to get back up. It doesn't seem to drop all connections, but some boxes plain and simply become unreachable.
I've double-checked that there aren't any looping cables. The network infrastructure wasn't touched, as we had a cheap unbranded switch before (which amusingly didn't have any problems other than an annoying fan) and just put the Cisco in.
I've googled a bit and found some references to this problem, which leads me to believe it's reasonably widespread. Is there a firmware update of some sort for this equipment? Any ideas?

    Hi Bruno,
If you would be so kind as to ring the good folks at the Small Business Support center regarding this issue.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/support/tsd_cisco_small_business_support_center_contacts.html
If there is a known problem with this older product it should be replaced.  You cannot update the unmanaged switch with new firmware as I guess that can only be done in a factory.
But the older SD2008  has been refreshed by  the new  technology SD2008T  (100 series)  which are really quite advanced compared to the older SD series switches.

  • Iphone 3 drops wireless connection every 2 seconds, then reconnects, Iphone 4 works fine with same wireless

My wife has an iphone 3 running 4.2.1 (I think thats as high as it can go?) and every two seconds it drops the wireless connection, then reconnects for 2 seconds. I'm using Plusnet wireless and my iphone 4 connects fine to it. Anyone got any ideas?

If no change after resetting network settings on the iPhone and/or after restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup and if the same with different wi-fi networks the iPhone has access to, there is a hardware problem with the wireless card or with something else.

  • 3G drops WiFi connection every 20 seconds

    Hi,
I'm debugging why a particular application I wrote myself won't work. The application basically creates a CFNetwork-based connection to the Mac over WiFi, and this used to work. I've recently updated to Mac 10.6.1 and iPhoneOS 3.0.1, and it no longer works. I see the following in my console log on the iPhone (which breaks the connection):

At that point, I get a "connection reset by peer" on my network connection, presumably becuse the en0 interface went down/up in this cycle. This happens every 20 seconds or so. What is going on here and how do I prevent my WiFi link from going down+up every 20 seconds?

I tried with another phone and that works fine - is my network card dead? Can I get that services?

  • BT Homehub 2 dropping connection every few minutes

Hi, my homehubs been working perfectly until today when it started dropping the connection every few minutes (ranging from 3 minutes up to 13). The broadband and phone lights go out then orange and then back to blue after about a minute.
Having browsed the forums etc Ive changed the location of the hub, changed channels, checked cabling and changed the microfilter.
Im now at a bit of a loss. The firmware is Version 8.1.H.J (Type A) and i notice that the firmware updated on todays date.
Im hoping someone has some ideas as im all out now.
    Thanks

I have the same problem friday afternoon at 4.30 to 11.30 at night the router reset itself every five minutes ....the prob first started in nov 2010 i have had 3 home engineer visits and finally we might be getting somwhere it looks like its caused by interferance on the line the phones fine its the broadband ,looking at the engineers meter it was running fine then all of a sudden it spikes erros 21,000 of them the router reboots and steadys again .......somthings causing line interferance it could be anything a pir on a security light ,a street lamp with a faulty timer ,there has even been a case where a car tyre garage has had its broadband removed by sombodys faulty tv .......
the engineer fitted a resistor box under the wall socket and ran the wires through it to the socket ...this is disigned to filter out certain frequencies of line pollution but not all ......it seems to be working its only shut down twice tonight and that could be the exchange mucking about as they are continuing to monitor the problem ......HOPING ....... oh he also removed the front of the wall socket and fitted me a dsl one with a separate phone socket hence doing away with the dsl filter ......................

  • New MBP drops wifi every 65 seconds

So I have a month-old 15" MBP 10,1 2.4 GHz i7, 16 GB running 10.8.4.  From day one it has dropped the wifi regularly, I've tried over six networks at three locations.  Every 65 seconds the wifi icon drops, searches, re-establishes the network. No other issues, and the hardware test runs OK.  I'm currently on DHCP at work but it's very stable, all my other wifi devices are fine and have been for years.   I get this in the console every time (I've taken out the date and obfuscated the MAC, IP etc):

  • Sound keeps dropping out every 40 seconds

My sound was totally fine after Lion update but today no matter what program or internet site that has audio, the sound drops out for about a second every 30-40 seconds on my imac 27". This happens again with itunes, youtube, internet videos etc. I tried resetting the PRAM but no change. I have my imac plugged into an optical cable into my logitech 5500 surround system. Any body else having paused/dropouts intheir audio? Its very frustrating cause its almost as if someone is hitting the paus button on and off every few seconds.

For some strange reason the optical cable from the imac to the speakers has a problem. I replaced it with another one and no more sound issues and everything is fine. I thought optical cables never go bad unless kinked and mine was clearly not. Whatever, everything is made junky these days and nothing lasts.

If your AirPort Express is configured as a "bridge", with Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode) it is receiving DHCP services from the router that is ahead of it, in this case, probably the Buffalo that you mention. That would be the device where the lease settings would be adjusted.
    Check AirPort Utility
    Manual Setup
    Click Internet icon
Check the Connection Sharing setting at the bottom of the page to confirm your setting for the the AirPort Express

  • Wi-Fi loosing connection every few seconds on my macbook pro and its not my router's fault (running yoseomite)

Basically I bought my new Macbook Pro retina display in September 2014. My wifi was working perfectly well for about a month or two until Yosemite was brought out. I'm not sure if it was immediately after I downloaded Yosemite or not, but not long afterwards I noticed I was having trouble with my wifi (and not just mine but my schools as well). Every time my computer tries to join the wifi network it will work for a while (5 seconds) and it will say that I have a wifi connection but then it will just stop working and it will say I'm not connected to wifi. A few seconds later and it will then reconnect and say I have wifi. I am fairly certain this is not my wireless router ( a BT home hub) as I have other devices such as my iPhone and a computer which does not suffer these problems. After a while of it loosing connection and then gaining connection it will finally stop and the wifi icon at the top will suggest I have a wifi connection but when I hover over it, I see it says "Wi-Fi:looking for networks..." and then 2 seconds later it will say "Wi-Fi: On" and it will repeat like this for however long I am on the network. When the icon appears to suggest I have a connection I am able to load a webpage but it is slow and watching Netflix can be tiresome. I've scoured these forums for information that will solve my issue however all I have found is outdated information from 2010 or 2012 or too technical information that I can't understand. Does anyone else have this problem, has anyone else found a solution, it would be much appreciated if any one could help me solve t.

Please test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Take the applicable steps in this support article. The Wireless Diagnostics program generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
Be sure to test on more than one Wi-Fi network, if at all possible. A desktop computer can be tested with a mobile hotspot, such as the hotspot created by a cell phone. If the problem only exists on one network, then the access point of that network should be the focus of your attention, not the computer.
    Step 2
Disconnect all USB 3 devices. If you don't know which are USB 3, disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
    Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. If you find that Wi-Fi works better with Bluetooth disabled, you should use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. Your router may not support it; in that case, you need a new router.
    Step 4
Open the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences and unlock the settings, if necessary. Select the Power Adapter  tab, if there is one. Uncheck the box marked
              Wake for Wi-Fi network access
    if it's checked.
    Step 5
Open the Network pane in System Preferences and make a note of your settings in the Wi-Fi service. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the various tabs in the preference pane. If the preference pane is locked, unlock it by clicking the padlock icon and entering your administrator password. Delete Wi-Fi from the service list on the left by selecting it and clicking the minus-sign button at the bottom. Then recreate the service by clicking the plus-sign button and following the prompts.
    Step 6
    In the Wi-Fi settings, select
              Advanced... ▹ TCP/IP ▹ Configure IPv6: Link-local
    Click OK and then Apply.
    Step 7
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 8
    Reset the PRAM.
    Step 9
Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. You'll be prompted for the password when you reconnect. Save it in the keychain.
    Step 10
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

  • WRT54GS v. 6 Dropping Connection Every 5 Minutes

I got a Linksys WRT54GS v.6 router in October. In the beginning, it would occasionally (every couple of days) lose its wireless connection, and for a while DHCP did not work with my iBook. Then I upgraded last month to firmware version 1.52.0, which solved the DHCP problem, but did terrible things to the connectivity.
Soon thereafter the connection, both wired and wireless, started dropping every 5 minutes, and could be recovered only by power-cycling the router (the wired computer is a PC running XP, and the wireless is, as stated above, an iBook G4 with OS 10.4.8). I should note that I tried the DSL connection directly through the modem with the wired computer and it stayed up for the entire time I used it, which was close to an hour. I spent many, many hours on the phone with tech support and changed wireless channels, MTU sizes, fragmentation and RTS thresholds, and beacon intervals, along with several hard resets of the router, but continued to have the same problem, so they deemed the hardware defective and sent me a replacement.
When I got the replacement, I went about installing it and immediately upgraded again to version 1.52.0, and everything worked great for about a week, when I started having exactly the same problem with the connection dropping every 5 minutes like clockwork. Again, I called technical support and suggested it was a software issue, but they insisted it was hardware and are sending me a new router again.
Has anyone had a similar experience with this router/firmware? Does anyone have any solutions outside of having Linksys replace my router every 2 weeks? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

too had this exact same problem.  Please note that "had" is the past tense.  This is a consistent problem and the geniuses on the help desk don't have a clue how to fix it.  In looking at this and other forums, found a website with step-by step instructions to change the OS to Linux and change the firmware.  Have been rock solid ever since,  Once you change, the admin pages appear differently but you have access to the same admin fields as well as some additonal information.  Ihttp://www.wrtrouters.com/guides/upgradetolinux/

  • Canon 5D mark ii drops connection after 10 seconds with ALL software (Apple, Canon, Helicon, OnOne,etc...)

I am using a Canon 5d Mark II and im trying to get LiveView to work on the screen. Since EOS utility doesnt work for Lioni have found alternatives. My #1 pick is OnOne software which allows me to connect camera to Mac via usb. The mac then broadcasts the LiveView to any connected wifi iOS devices. I have done this before on a MacBook Pro running Lion with no problems. On my iMac however, it will not work at all. I can see the LiveView for about 10 seconds before the image freezes, usually followed by the software freezing or returning an error. This problem occurs even in Image Capture when transfering files directly from the camera. If I use a USB reader there are no issues.
So, there is clearly a problem with the USB drivers or protocols that handle the connection to my Camera. IM IN NEED OF MAJOR HELP so any suggestion will be greatly appreciated and I am willing to try anything. Thanks!

I've decided just to try to get back to the export that I showed in the first screenshot. That result came before I started tampering with the Easy Setup. Like I said, when I changed the setup the canvas quality improved drastically and the dimensions seemed to fit much better, but the export was vertically stretched and cropped. I just reset my FCE settings and it turns out the default setup is DV-NTSC, but it's giving me a terrible quality still...
I just want to get back to that second screenshot's quality.. Could someone suggest what I should switch the easy setup to for importing stills from my Canon 5D Mark ii to yield the right results?

  • ATV / iTunes "drops" connection 20-30 seconds after restart of iTunes

Hmmm... This is odd. Just read thru 15 pages of this site. And im still puzzeled. I have two win xp machines - both laptops on wireless. The ATV is connected to the switch by cable. The ATV has full internet access (itunes, updates etc), the XP machines both run newest version of iTunes and Windows Firewall turned off. No third party security software or anything.
Its like, I start the iTunes, it see's the ATV. The configurations I have made, starts (which movies etc to sync) - and after 30-60 seconds the ATV just disappears from the component list. If Im quick to start streaming, I can actually watch a full feature film off the ATV but as soon as the stream stops - 30-60 seconds - all connectivity is lost.
    Tried various machines etc.
    IM GOING NUTS!
    Morgan

I bought an ATV a few days ago and I have this same problem. I believe, in my case, the problem is caused by my ATV sitting next to my Wii. When I disabled the wifi on the Wii the ATV connects fine. Something else I have found in the past with wireless is the it doesn't work and play well with coredless phones. 802.11b does not like 900 mhz phone and the 802.11g does not like the 2.4 ghz phones. I have a 2.4 ghz cordless and I have solved issues with it conflicting with wireless in the past by forcing it to channel 11. I will try this and let you know if it helps further. I am also wondering if I would be better off updating to a 802.11n.
This is from Wikipedia and may have some merrit:
Since the spectral mask only defines power output restrictions up to ± 22 MHz from the center frequency to be attenuated by 50 dB, it is often assumed that the energy of the channel extends no further than these limits. It is more correct to say that, given the separation between channels 1, 6, and 11, the signal on any channel should be sufficiently attenuated to minimally interfere with a transmitter on any other channel. Due to the near-far problem a transmitter can impact a receiver on a "non-overlapping" channel, but only if it is close to the victim receiver (within a meter) or operating above allowed power levels.
Although the statement that channels 1, 6, and 11 are "non-overlapping" is limited to a spacing or product density, the 1–6–11 guideline has merit. If transmitters are closer together than channels 1, 6, and 11 (for example, 1, 4, 7, and 10), overlap between the channels may cause unacceptable degradation of signal quality and throughput.[5]

  • MSI GX640 Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN dropping connection every ~10 minutes

Problem: Getting disconnected every 5-20 minutes. Network card: Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN.
Solutions tried: Router restarted? No idea what to do, googling it yielded no viable results, even though I can't say I'm pro at googling. Found no drivers on MSI homepage.
    MSI GX640
    Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN
    Further information:
My MSI GX640 had problems with heating and was sent to be repaired and got its heatzink switched. I started getting disconnects every 10 minutes or so, sometimes less than a minute apart, sometimes up to 20 minutes without a disconnection.
Don't really know what information you might need, so please do tell if something is missing.

Those are not the newest: http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=nbdriver&maincat_no=135&prod_no=1998
You'll get the newest at:  http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/detect.htm - click the check buttom and follow steps. <- These are from 18-10-2010
But yeah you'll might need to change which wireless channels you are on. If you aren't using Wireless connection then you might have to check your LAN card drivers or this can allso be caused by your ISP or bad connection on your internet line.
