FMS not responding for RTMP publish command

Please answer to the followong questions
1. I am developing an RTMP encoder application. The application is establishing a connection and creating a new stream. But when publish command is sent   to the server, the server should respond with "on status" message. The server is not giving any response, but when publish command is sent in 'record' mode, a new directory is getting created the application folder of the server. So, the problem is the server is receiving the publish command but not giving any response. Please the possible reasons for FMS's behaviour. Can encoder start sending audio / video data without receivng the response for the publish command from the server? Please let us know.
2. Also, which of the follwing publishing name is correct. Should videoKeyframeFrequency and totalDatarate be part of publishing name.
   publishing_name = mylivestream
   publishing_name = mylivestream?videoKeyframeFrequency=5&totalDatarate=248
3. Is calling RTCs 'releaseStream' and 'FCPublish' must before sending 'publish' command?

Thanks for your interest on FMS.
1. How are you catching the events back from the server ? Server always sends the response codes and you must be catching them through event listeners on the client side (asynchronous). There is no way the server cannot send back the responses and still do the job of creating folders etc.
2. Yes, sending the metadata info and other required info as query parameters along with the streams is one of the very good ways to deliver.
3. These methods are not mandatory to be used. They are optional and the sample application live that comes with the FMS has the implementation for these and hence, it just expects the encoder/clients to call them on it. Nice to have though.
Why don't you post these queries in the FMS forums instead of HTTP Streaming (here)? My only concern is, you will get more quick and better expert answers as many FMS guys are watching them. HDS guys are watching this thread.

By a reset, I assume you meaning pressing and holding both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons (or Volume Down and Sleep/Wake buttons on the 6G Nano) long enough for the Apple logo to appear?
What happens if you try to manually place the iPod into Disk Mode? If you can do that, I would recommend connecting the iPod to iTunes and restoring it.

First of all, why did you say yes to Nero Back up before researching what it does with files already on the HDD? When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.

My Client have 4 computers, all win7, running cs 5 or 6, the newest the cloudbased version.
The problem has been sinc upgrading from cs3.
"Program not responding" for 35 seconds, before loading the file on 1/4 of time.
It is not on specific files, and no patton.
it does'nt matter if the files are on network or saved local on Harddrive.
the sice does'nt matter.
Only switching of nic and wifi stops the problem.
I did try downloading other files (not made by my client), from the net, they do not trigger the problem.
What else then the Files can bee the problem? can anyone test my files to see what is wrong?

I have a very similar problem with my CS6 Ai on our company network. I sometimes use Illustrator for image heavy documents less than 10 pages. These have a lot of placed images.
It will freeze, say "not responding" and curser switches to blue spinner. Then about 15 sec later it unfreezes and I can work for another 60 sec or so, then repeat freeze, blue spinner, etc. Very annoying. When i unplug the network LAN cable the problem goes away and I sail along. I have tried relocating the Ai file to my desktop (not sure about the images).
Waiting on any feedback or help, our IS guys are getting stumped. I could switch to InDesign for this work but not my preference.

Firefox keeps "not responding" for a few seconds - then connects

I just upgraded to Firfox 4.0 because of my new computer's Windows 7.
It started "not responding" for up to 20 - 30 seconds before it reconnects, and it is sometimes unresponsive to my mouse even when it is working. This did not happen before the upgrade and does not happen with Windows Internet Explorer

check your system preferences to see if you have "ignore accidental trackpad touches" checked (or something like that). If you type on you keyboard then try to use the trackpad you have to touch it a couple of times so the computer does not think it was an accident while typing. Just uncheck the box if it is checked.

hi there ... my ipad2 is not responding for itunes and it can not switch off even with the sleep and on keys ... its been a year so no warranty on it. is there any way i can resolve the problem ?? pls.

Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPad.
I recommend following these steps for an issue like the one you described:
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

Mikey, I have the exact same problem. Dropped my 3gs on Thanksgiving, phone was not responsive, plugged into the wall charger, went to grey iPhone restore screen, then said to connect to itunes. So I plugged it into itunes but itunes wont recognize it nor will my computer. I searched the internet for hours with no success. I tried to change USB ports and cords, tired removing the SIM card, reinstalled itunes, everything. When I put it in DFU mode itunes recognizes an iphone in recovery mode, so I click restore and update, then I get error 1602 every time. My iPhone also loses power when I unplug it from the wall. I do not know what to try next. You are the only person I have found with the same exact problem I have. I will update you if I find a way to get my phone working again and I hope you will do the same. I'm very frustrated

i just installed Thunderbird on my new desktop. Windows 8.1 . McAfee internet security.
It is working except when I am receiving a new email ; and in the process of clicking on the new email ; Thunderbird initially is not responding for 20 to 30 sec; then starts working again . Any recommendations ?

ITunes Not Responding for 10+ Minutes After Launch

Whenever I launch iTunes on my PowerBook G4, it takes over ten minutes to launch, during which time it is frozen (i.e., beach ball, shows as "Not Responding" in the Activity Monitor). This happens regardless of whether I connect to my local music library or my external drive library. The problem started a month or two ago, although I can't recall exactly when.
Once I let iTunes do whatever it's trying to do for the ten minutes or so, it's fine. It's just frustrating having to wait ten minutes every time I open iTunes, and having to deal with the CPU cranked at 100%.
Any ideas?

P.S. I tried turning off Genius, and that did not do the trick.

Let's do a test to see just what iTunes is doing (hopefully).
Open Activity Monitor (Applicatons/Utilities) and select 'All Processes, Hierarchically' from the menu at the top right.
Click on the '% CPU' heading so that it turns blue. If the little triangle is pointing down, good. If not, click it again.
Open iTunes.
Find whatever goes to the top of the list. It will most likely be using at least 80% of your CPU.
What is it called?
With whatever is at the top of the list selected, click the Inspect icon.
Click the Statistics tab.
Take a screenshot of the window (Shift-Command-4 followed by the spacebar, then click on the window). You'll refer to this later.
Now, tell me what it says under the following:
Parent Process
Process Group
User
Recent Hangs
% CPU
CPU Time
Faults
Threads
As well as anything else you think I should know.
Also, look at the iTunes process. Is there a triangle next to it? If so, is the process using a lot of % CPU inside it? What's inside the iTunes process (indented, under it)?
We'll just use this test to learn more about what's going on when you open iTunes.

Firefox freezes every five minutes, "not responding" for about a full minute at a time then resumes, only to do it again five minutes later

It's just random, about every five minutes everything just freezes. It's not my computer, just the browser. I get the (not responding) in the upper left corner of the browser. I have to keep waiting about a full minute for the browser to resume. This only started happening after I downloaded Firefox 7

Did you give it a try to be sure that that isn't at least part of the problem?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Javascript causes Firefox to not respond for a few minutes.

I have a website form with a large amount of dynamically generated javascript that uses jQuery to handle events. When clicking on radio buttons in the form Firefox 26 will get part way through then stop responding for around two minutes while showing (Not Responding) in the title. If I go into about:config and disable javascript.options.baselinejit.content the form works fine, if I enable that option FireFox becomes unresponsive part way through the form. This started recently but I don't know exactly which version is started on, Firefox 26 definitely has the issue for me. All extensions and plugins have been disabled and "Use hardware acceleration when available" is not selected. Also the form works correctly in Chrome 31, Internet Explorer 7, 8, 9, and 10.

Hi keviga, would you be inclined to file a new bug for this? You can reference the Baseline JavaScript compiler as the problem. I guess the tricky part is figuring out what is going on in your scripts that is triggering the issue.

SQL*Plus Not responding when calling edit command

When I write a Query in SQL Plus 9.2.0.1.0, Installed in Windows XP SP2, and running EDIT command, notepad opens and then SQL Plus and Notepad both hangs. By killing notepad.exe process I can continue working in SQL Plus.
I tried changing the default editor to ultra edit, wordpad, etc. But It seems to be a SQL Plus error, with all editors I set up, Editor Hangs.
The same things happende me installing the Oracle 9i client in another machine.
Need help with this, thanks!!

Sounds strange - and does not sound like a SQL*Plus problem. SQL*Plus uses the CreateProcess() Win32 API call to create the editor process. Then it waits for this process' process handle to cease to exist before it continues. SQL*Plus does not "hang" - it simply waits for the spawned process to terminate before it continues.
It is not possible for one process to "hang" another process it created via the CreateProcess() call. It will need to interact with that spawned process in other ways to make it hang. Caveat: unless the spawned process does not "like" the parameters passed to it via the CreateProcess() call...
The only parameter passed is the filename (usually afiedt.buf) by SQL*Plus - and that should not cause the editor to hang.
Unless there is a specific Oracle bug you're running in, this problem sounds more like a Windows issue. After using the ED command in SQL*Plus, can you manually view and edit the afiedt.buf file it created?
