FMS on linux (RH) clusters?

I want to expand service to my cluster of rh (enterprise 5.2)
with 2 nodes. Anyone has experiences? or any infos for reading.
Thanks.

We had to create a streams directory beneath our application
on Linux, this might be because of our strict security model but
might also apply to your case.
we let streams save in individual instance-directories like:
/opt/macromedia/fms/applications/<appname>/streams/<instancename>/
This behaviour can be changed with the StorageDir tag in your
Application.xml configuration file.

Are there any solutions for Oracle Clustering on Linux?

    Hi,
the latest dev. kernel (2.3.12) contains raw device support. For
linux 2.2.10 there is a patch avail. from Stephen Tweedy. That
    works great even with oracle8.
    ftp://ftp.uk.linux.org/pub/linux/sct/fs/raw-io/
I guess it will be avail. in stable kernel soon.

  • Installing FMS on Linux

    Hi
I am having an issue on starting the FMS server . I could be able to install the server but when I try to start it  says , "Error: Flash Media Server needs the NSPR library installed."  So I checked the server and all the libraries are already installed .
I have installed the FMS at the default server . i.e  /opt/adobe/fms and the relevant libraries are as follows
    /usr/lib64/libnspr4.so
    /usr/lib64/libplc4.so
    /usr/lib64/libplds4.so
I am really stuck with this issue . Pls advise

    hi
This is Redhat SE 4.  Further I symlinked   all the NSPR libraries to shared library path  accrodingly . But it still shows up this error . (Error: Flash Media Server needs the NSPR library installed.)
May be FMS expects these libraries somewhere else or does it support 64 bit libraries ?
    thanks

  • Linux clustering for 8i standard edition

Does Linux do clustering or fail-over for Oracle 8i STANDARD edition ?
I know for 8i ENTERPRISE edition, Oracle handles the clustering with the Parallel option. As well, for 8i Standard Edition, Oracle offers 'fail-safe' for the NT platform but not for LINUX.
If anyone knows, please advise. TIA.

There is no Paraller Server for Linux now.
But there is possibilities for HA

  • FMS2 on Linux almost working!

    Hi there,
I've been testing FMS2 on Linux (CentOS). I figured that
since CentOS is in essence RedHat that I shouldn't have any
trouble. The good news is that it all seems to have installed
nicely. When I attempt a ./fmsmgr list it gives me a couple
processes that are running and everything. I can even login to the
administrative system. The issue is rtmp service over 1935 isn't
responding. I attempted to connect with a simple application I
    wrote but it constantly fails.
So I checked the logs and I'm basically getting this:
    Apr 28 09:20:04 as 257[25875]: Server stopped .
    Apr 28 09:20:44 as 257[4028]: Server starting...

    Apr 28 09:20:50 as 257[5379]: Server aborted.
I can start, restart the service and do everything without
harm. But it seems as if the server itself is failing when it's
initialized despite admin and other services running perfectly.
I'm wondering if I need to do something to Adaptor.xml or
    Vhost.xml. This is a fresh setup and I haven't touched/configured
anything. I'm not sure if I should be tweaking the
    configuration...assignging any IP addresses etc.
Also you sould know that this is a shared host with multiple
domains on the same system. So I'm not sure if that will effect it
    at all.
Your help is greatly appreciated, I really want to see this
    working on Linux,
    David

    Try:
    /opt/macromedia/fms/fmsmaster
If you see and error about libnspr4.so you'll need to install
some more RPMs. You can find my notes on installing FMS on linux

  • FMS Goes Non Responsive

It seems every couple of days, our FMS (latest version) goes
non responsive. By this I mean, the connections on the RMTP/HTTP
    ports fail. (verified using
    http://www.404404.com/flashcomporttest/)
We're using nothing more than the sample guestbook
application, and find that after a couple of days, we don't get
playback.. and have to restart the fms. Once we restart, the sample
guestbook app works fine again. We're running the FMS on linux. Has
    anyone else had this problem?

I seem to rememer a problem like this in FMS 2.0, with a
bugfix issued in the 2.0.1 update. Have you updated to the latest
    version of FMS?

  • Installing multiple instances accessing the same database

    Hi,
I want to install two different instances of Oracle 10g in two different machines which will access the same database which will be stored in the shared storage.
Is it possible to install them without installing RAC? The instances will be one active and the other passive, so the services will be up in one server and down in the other and the switching (shutting down one server and starting up the other) will be manual.
Two servers will be running Linux and clustered in Linux level.
Does Oracle offers this solution without installing Clusterware software?
    Thank you

    > The instances will be one active and the other passive, so the services will be up in one server and down in
the other and the switching (shutting down one server and starting up the other) will be manual
Missed this part as I was thinking proper cluster and RAC.
This is neither. Yes, this can be done using two servers and shared storage.
Is it a good idea? Not really. As this configuration does not provide redundancy at physical database level. You loose that storage.. bye-bye database. Does not matter whether you have a 100 backup servers that can be used.
Thus the business reasons that you are trying to meet with this config have to be clarified and expectations determined.
Separate servers using Data Guard will be a far more superior solution in many respects.

  • Oracle not working in the Secondary Server

    Hai All,
I have two servers with Linux OS clustering. 2 months back we detach the secondry server from the clustering for some urgent. Later we plug the server to the Clustering and check the oracle connectivity etc. But a problem has occured that in secondry server boots and oracle up for 1 min and then stop.. For oracle a virtual IP keeps. That one minute we can ping this IP from client. But after this oracle not available. From the First server oracle working fine... From where I can check? . Please give a step by step procedure for checking.
    Shiju

    Hai,
Thank you for your initial consideration.
I think this is very good hint.
I am not much expert in linux. check the permissions on your OCR disks means the storage(the db files resides) permissions? Here the secodry server's hardisk remove and the server use for some urgent needs. later plug the hard disks and starting the probem. This leads to permission problem?
logs for crs? please explain ? I check the /var/log/messages there some lines but no hint ...please help?

  • Numerous types of DG Failures using both ASYNC and ARCH rep to Phys Standby

We have multiple 3 node 64 bit Linux RAC clusters in MaxPerformance protection mode with some using ASYNC and some using ARCH for log transport mode to the physical standby (64bit Linux Stand Alone). It is oracle RDBMS 10.2.0.4 EE with the Linux is Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (October Update 7) and a 2.6.9-42.0.3.ELsmp kernel.
I have SR’s opened with Oracle but have got no traction on them so I thought I would ask the group for help on any of them. Thanks Dean
    Problem 1) I get ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kcrrrfswda.11], [4], [368], [], [], [], [],
[] errors that kills the MRP and puts the standby database recovery into an Idle state.
I can usually easily recover from this by restarting the recovery but it is very annoying and could be low hanging fruit to easily fix! Any suggestions?
Problem 2) Standby DB does not receive all the logs (skips a few) or sometimes gets all the logs but the log apply gets hung on applying one log but receives all the other logs after (stuck one) and will not continue. This is very similar to note/bug 5746174 but it was supposed to be fixed in 10.2.0.4!

Well now Tuxedo 8.0 was released around 2001 (yes really!!)
As far as I can remember RHES did not exist then. You can find a list of Platform Data sheets for 8.0 at http://edocs.bea.com/tuxedo/tux80/install/inspds.htm but that is very old.
As there is incredible source code compatibility for the Tuxedo API I would suggest that you look at a more modern version of Tuxedo. 10gR3 was release this year but it only supports RHEL 5.
To get support for RHEL 4 you might need to look at Tuxedo 9.1.

  • Is it possible to run a server cluster with Mavericks?

Is it possible to run a server cluster, like using XGrid, but with Mavericks? I have a Mac Mini server and an older iMac lying around that I want to put to good use. If so, what software would I need and how should I set it up? Will I be able to link the 2 computers over Wifi or must it be Ethernet?

Sadly Apple no longer provide Xgrid for clustering it was last available with Lion aka. 10.7.x.
For any equivalent clustering capability you are either going to have to use an open-source Linux originated clustering solution like Slurm, Moab, or Beowulf. Then you have to applications written to be compatible with such solutions. This was the beauty of Xgrid in that it provided a framework that Mac applications could be compatible with.
Note: Clustering is not the same thing as a Storage Area Network. It is still possible to build a SAN using Macs even in Mavericks and Apple still support Xsan for this.
With regards to using WiFi or Ethernet, both would work but it will depend on how much data needs to be transferred (per second) as to wether WiFi would be up to the job, some tasks require lots of data to be transferred other tasks e.g. BitCoin mining do not.
Apple did come up with another framework called Grand Central Dispatch. In theory that might be extended to work in a cluster. However while GCD is now open-source I get the impression it is also abandoned by Apple See https://libdispatch.macosforge.org

  • Optimum Configuration

I am going to dedicate a server to FMS. I plan to have as
many as 10,000 connections. Does FMS in linux take advantage of
dual processors? Memory? Disk Space? I won't have sophisticated
applications nor am I doing media streaming. This is purely for
socket/shared object use. I'd liek to know if 4GB of memory helps
over 2GB. Is a large amoutn of disk space required and does dual
    processors help.
Also, from what I understand, I only need ports 1935 and 80
    open correct?
    Thanks!

Well I'd say if you have 10,000 connections then no thats not
enough hardware to support all those users and you should consider
    using a hosting provider instead.

    2. If i download and install the Script with the root
Account, what i need to enter, witch during the Flash Media Server
processes for default "user" and default "group"?
    3. Can can i cange without some Problem the default path
    during the installation?

The Answer is in your port TrippleEx.
