FMW B2B and SOA: sync response architecture

Hi All,
I am facing some challenges on the B2B and SOA communication.
The architecture (inbound) that we are following is B2B send a message on the JMS queue to AIAB2BInterface which in turn forwards the message to the concerned BPEL process.
The issue is with developing synchronous functional acknowledgements to trading partners in a way that it not just says "B2B received this message" but also means that "this message has been successfully processed by the backend system"(so all the BPEL processes were successful). Though B2B would have received the message successfully but the associated BPEL processes might have failed.
So when I indicate success from B2B in the synchronous functional acknowledgement I want to indicate success in the backend systems also.
Currently we are implementing async functional acknowledgement to indicate success through the backend system for which the implementation is simple; we just have the BPEL process send a message back to B2B via AIAB2BInterface upon completion.
The only solution that I have come across is use of callouts which invokes a SOA sync BPEL composite as a web service and having the sync BPEL process return an acknowledgement back to B2B upon completion/error. But this way I am not using any of the existing JMS queues and the AIAB2BInterface. This is sort of rebuilding the B2B/SOA integration architecture that is being used.
Do we have any ideas/insights on how to implement synchronous functional acknowledgement while supporting the architecture( B2B-> AIAB2BInterface -> BPEL processes) that we are using for the B2B/SOA integrations?
Thanks in advance!

  • FTP Adapter, B2b and SOA performance Test

    Hi All,
We have a requirement to processes Large XML files ranging from 1 MB to 200 MB. Our Flow is FTP Adapter picks the XML's Repeatable Nodes. BPEL Transforms and Loops thru each XML node and calls B2B Adapter in Each Loop. We are doing Advanced EDI batching to aggregate all the nodes in one XML to one EDI. Files upto 7 MB are working fine with FTP fileraise property= 1 and polling frequency=300s. Files with 14MB are failing with JTA transaction Time Out (Time Out Set=500s) and Server running in PROD mode. We are using SOA Suite 11.1.1.7 and HIPAA 834 Transactions. Is there a Payload size Limitation For FTP Adapter or SOA Suite? Do we need to Follow a different approach to achieve our functionality? Do we need to set any Performance parameters? Please share your thoughts.
    Thanks In Advance!!!

I have installed SOA suite 10.3.1 and Oracle XE as DB. Now, I want to install B2B, could anyone give me pointers as to where to download it from and how to go about the installation process. Thanks in advance

    Hello,
The latest version of Oracle AS B2B is 10.1.2.0.2. Please download B2B from OTN Download site under Application server + Application Server 10g (10.1.2.0.2) + Application Server Integration(10.1.2.0.2).

  • RFC to JDBC Sync Scenario and get JDBC response

    Hi All,
We need to create RFC to JDBC synchronous interface with update_insert action.
And we need to get the number of records updated or inserted as response and map the response and send it back to ECC as RFC response mesg.
I have gone through the help document on JDBC and it says :
The response document has the following format; one of the two values is always 0 because either an UPDATE or an INSERT action is always executed:
    <update_count>count</update_count>
    <insert_count>count</insert_count>
Now following is the question: Is this this the standard feature? Because in our case Database side they will not be sending any response back.
So with the synchronous receiver JDBC channel would we get this update and insert count as response  by default?.
    Please help with replies.
    Thanks,
    Jane

    Hi Jane
No setting needs to be done by the Database team, it is a standard feature.
Whenever you insert or update records in DB using the JDBC Adapter, you will get the response with the count.
If insertion fails due to some reason in JDBC Adapter, then there will be no response.

  • Schema Centralization: Among OSB, SOA Suite1 and SOA Suite2

    Gurus,
I want to implement a schema centralization pattern for a hypothetical scenario which is as follows:
Consider a company xyz inc. which has an OSB, SOA Suite1 (Finance dept has a dedicated soa suite) and SOA Suite2 (this is common integration platform) installations in their production environment.
I would like to design canonical schemas for business objects for xyz inc. and since they are shared across all the services, i would like to store them centrally so that changes can be easily propagated to all the services using them.
Oracle suggests using MDS for SOA Suite for storing common artifacts.
However, these artifacts can only be locally referred by composite apps (using oramds: references) deployed on that SOA Suite installation.
The question is what is the best practice around sharing such common artifacts across soa suite installations and OSB installations.
Is http server a good idea for this? Hi
Can OSB refer to artifacts using HTTP URLs at runtime without referring them locally? (I am not an expert on OSB so apology if the question is too naive.)
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide on this.
    With kind regards-
    Ashish

    Hi Eric,
    Thanks for your quick response.
I was just scouting for information around this and I came across a concept of Resource Servlet -- "http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e15867/configuringandusingservices.htm#i1143285" in OSB.
So, how about the next configuration? --
Instead of using http server as in your case, can we not use OSB Reource Servlet URL to refer to the artifacts of sharedResources project?
That way we can avoid overhead of maintaining HTTP server and a sync job.
With your experience, what's your take on this configuration?
    Thanks-
    Ashish

  • Can a composte can directly can call AIA Sync Response SImualtor ?

    Hi ,
I mean to ask any other service other than AIA requester or AIA provider can call a AIA Sync Simulator. other words Custom flows can be tested by using the AIA Response Simulator?
I created a simple service which invokes a simulaor service adn get back the response form simulator but when i compile it was throwing errors. Can i call directly aia sync response simulator ?? while invoking the CAVS Service definition the messag defaulted is AnyMessage Type but i was pointing to the actual defiition of target system. As a reslt getiting ORABPEL-09706 assignment error.
Can i test the SOA applciaitons with CAVS. If yes please let me know how can i test.
    Thanks,
    Edited by: user8650285 on Jan 14, 2013 12:24 AM

Yes we can test the custom flows with AIA Sync Response Simulator(Other than AIA Requiestor or Provider Services)
Steps followed to do it : -
    Source A
    Target B
Remember target service is not running and wanted to test my bpel flow. So configured the simulator with the request and response of target application in CAVS.
1.Moved the target WSDL B to ORAMDS.
2.Then instead of creating a reference in composite from direct end point URL refer it from the MDS Layer.
    3. Enabladed the dynamic partner link adn used a property in composite.xml and assigned the required three variables to endpoint reference variable
    <property name="bpel.preference.IDM_endpoint_url">http://hostname:8001/AIAValidationSystemServlet/syncresponsesimulator?wsdl</property>
    to call the simulator.
Note: Even you can set the dynamic end point url at run time using the mbean-
    Soa-infra->admistration-M Bean Browser - Oracle.soa.config->server1:soa_server1->SCA,composte-><CompositeName>->SCAComposite.Componentname
on the right pane click properties under if its sync process u shjould see two properties one is bpel.config.transaction and other is
endpoint reference url - since we enabled a dynamic partner link.
At run time follow the approach to change the url to route the request to CAVS and test it.
If you have any questions you can email me [email protected]
    Thanks,

  • When connected via USB, my Ipod Classic 160GB mounts as a disc drive, then changes to a white drive.  When iTunes automatically opens, it crashes trying to mount and/ or sync.  When it times out, my only choice is to restore, but that doesn't fix problem.

I'm running OS 10.6.8 on my 3.06 GHz iMac Intel Core 2 Duo.   I recently upgraded to iTunes 10.5.2.  I'm not sure when the trouble started but I attempted a restore when the iPod would not play correctly.  It would start to play a file and get stuck on 0 seconds.  If I put the iPod on shufle, it will stall on 0 seconds for 15 seconds or so and then move on to the next track and stall again and so on.   Seemingly randomly, it will play a few tracks but eventually start skipping again.  This will continue until the battery is depleted which is fairly quick since the drive is constantly spinning.
My 160GB iPod Classic after restore attempts now is up to date with 2.0.4. and of course, nothing works as it should and I would say the skipping issue is worse than ever.
When I connect with any of three USB connectors, the iPod mounts to the desktop as a grey/silver disk drive picon exactly like the Macintosh HD picon.   Then Finder will stall for a few minutes- spinning pinwheel.  Somehow, the dock is never affected and I am able to open other applications like Safari or tab through open windows- just no action on the desktop.  Eventually, iTunes automatically opens and Finder becomes responsive again.  At this point the grey drive picon on the desktop becomes a white drive mount picon, but the iPod does not mount in iTunes, yet.  At some point, the iPod attempts to sync, iTunes crashes with the spinning pinwheel and eventually times out and I am prompted to restore the iPod again.  Once restored,  the iPod properly mounts under devices in iTunes and, as I have done this several times, even occasionally changes to the regular iPod picon on the desktop.
I have restored several times going as far a completely deleting iTunes from my iMac, downloading the latest directly from Apple.com, and attempting to restore again, but to no avail.
I have even used the disk utility to verify and/or repair my Macintosh HD and iPod.
It seems lots of folks are going through this ordeal.  Has anyone had any success in fixing the issue, even if only temporarily?

one more detail, after a restore, when I attempt to reload music to the ipod, if I try and move, say, 20 files, the transfer seems to work as it should but then stalls on the last file.  Eventually, the status will change to "Updates Files on (my ipod)" a and suggests the iPod is syncing  even though I have the auto sync feature turned off.
This process eventually works itself out, and seems to take longer relative to the number of files I attempt to transfer.   Once done, howver, if I try and eject and dismount the iPod, iTunes stalls with the spinning pinwheel and I am warned that the iPod is syncing again with the spinning candy cane status bar.     Eventually thisd works itself out and the iPod dismounts from iTunes and the desktop and eventually the iPod is free to disconnect.
Then if I try and play the music I just transfered, the iPod says there is no music loaded.
    Ideas?

So i bought music on a different computer but oAn the same itunes account and on the same ipod and when i get on my original computer and i sync my ipod my purchases that were on the other computer didnt show up. How can i put them on my computer/ipod

Download them to the computer to which the iPod is synced, re-sync.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • SOA Suite 10g and SOA Suite 11g? what are the major changes in these two?

    Hi Experts,
I am keen in knowing about Soa Suite 11g. SOA Suite 10g and SOA Suite 11g, BPEL changes? what are the major changes in these two product/tool wise? Is now OSB is part of Soa Suite 11g? it would be helpful for us to know what are the major changes and updates or modifications came in 11g.
    Please share this valuable information.
Is there still any version is in progress from Oracle, which is yet to be officially launched from oracle?

what are the major changes in these two product/tool wise? Few major changes to enlist are that SOA suite 10g was using Oracle Application Server (OC4J) however 11g is on Weblogic and 11g is based on SCA. B2B is now part of SOA suite itself and OSB can share a domain with SOA. You may refer below link to know few more -
    http://blogs.oracle.com/soabpm/2010/03/11gr1_patchset_2_111130_soa_fe.html
Is now OSB is part of Soa Suite 11g? OSB has a separate installer but can share a domain with SOA and SOA-direct binding is also supported now. Refer below link to know more about new features in OSB 11g -

  • SOA managed server and SOA infra not starting

    Hi
I have my database and listener up and running. I can also successfully start SOA Administration server.
But I am unable to start SOA managed server. I can see SOA managed server getting started with WARNING and SOA infra always fails to start.
I tried using both from command line as well as from NodeManager but without any luck. As a result I am unable to proceed with Deployment as soa_server1 does not appear in Step 4 in Jdeveloper deployment GUI dialog. I would also like to ask from the Gurus:
How can I start soa-infra alone as I cannot see any command from the command line to individually start soa-infra ?
Here is my part of output from soa_server1. The exception errors keep logging in loop and the file is growing. I had to terminate the process:

    Hi
    Thanks for your reply
Here is my installation details on Linux 32 bit OS:
    Weblogic server- wls1032_linux32.bin
    Repository Creation Utility- ofm_rcu_linux_11.1.1.2.1_disk1_1of1.zip
    SOA Suite- ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.2.0_disk1_1of1.zip
    JDeveloper Studio, base install- jdevstudio11112install.jar
    SOA Extension for JDeveloper- ofm_osb_generic_11.1.1.3.0_disk1_1of1.zip
The installation went very smooth and there was no errors in the same.
I can successfully start the Weblogic Administration server from the command line but unable to start successfully SOA Managed (soa_server1), Infra and BAM server (bam_server1). I tried starting SOA Managed (soa_server1) from command line as well as from Weblogic console EM (after starting Node Manager) but always receiving the errors I uploaded in my post earlier. As a result I am unable to deploy any composite application
    Please advice
    Thanks
    Rohit

  • IDoc to webservice and get the response back into another IDoc.

    Hi guys
We have a scenario where we need to send an IDoc to webservice and get the response back into another IDoc.
    Questions:
    1. Is this scenario possible without a BPM? or do we need to use BPM (Sync-Async bridge).
    2. Is there a Async to Sync bridge in BPM?
    3. How do I use this bridge in my scenario and customize it?
    4. If not possible, provide me the related docs using BPM for the same scenario.
    Appreciate your quick response
    Regards
    Naidu

  • BPM and SOA - Please explain

I am curious to learn - What is the link between EP and SOA? And the link between BPM and SOA?
Your inputs will be much appreciated.
    Best wishes,
    Dharmi

SOA is an Architecture principle to design, manage and govern enterprise solution using implementation independent interfaces and Web Service is a technology which support most of the SOA realization requirements.
When we design  solution in services, services can be different types. Services are the building blocks of the IT solution you design to address the business solutions.
    In a practical case
A collection of business requirements will be analysed using common practice to understand the business sub systems, business functions, each sub systems types such as major and minor, functional sub systems roles and resposibilities, and functional sub systems functional entities.
Once you have identified all the above for a business requirement you can map the requirements in business use cases where business use cases can be mapped to business sub system's functions
Once the use cases are derived, you can decompose them into business transactions. Each business transaction accomplish something relevant for a use case so that using use case realization business can implement the IT enablement of the business requirement.
Once you know the business transaction and their message types, you can make them to a business process.
Each business process can then decompose further into business process entities, roles, and responsbilities in such a way so that a given process entity can serve multiple functional entities requirement.
Once you have the process entities you can logically grop them together based on the business transaction so that process entities act on transaction message through TASKS.
Once you know all these together you can map process entities and task to implementation independent interfaces which can be considered as SERVICE candates.
Once you are at the phase of business process, you can apply BPM modeling tactics to optimize them in terms of all influencing forces.
SO BPM and SOA work together to derive the best service to serve the business requirements in SOA based computing
