  • Attribute Columns in Table Fnd_Lookup_Values

    Hello All, I am trying to update the attribute columns (Attribute1, Attribute2, Attribute3 etc) in the table Fnd_Lookup_Values from the Applications (Forms) side. How do I do it? From Application Developer > Application > LookUps > Common, I can Enter/Update only Lookup Code, Meaning, Description, Tag Effective Dates. I want to enter values in the Attribute Columns too. Please help!!

    Hi,
    You need to define the DFF first from the application. For that:
    1. Go to System Administrator responsibility (or any of the Super User responsibilities in the system)
    2. Go to the DFF definition screen: Application > Descriptive > Segments
    3. Search your DFF. In your case:
    - Application: Application Object Library
    - Title: Common Lookups
    4. Unfreeze the DFF (if it's frozen)
    5. Click on Segments button and define the attributes you want to populate
    Once done that, open the lookups screen and you will be able to populate the attributes.

    what is the purpose of this field? fnd_lookup_values.tag
    which documentation/user guide should I read to know more details?

    Just a couple of small clarifications on some of the points made above:
    1) It is not true to say that Oracle use the tag to filter records by module. I think this is done using the application_id against fnd_lookup_types
    2) AJ is correct that you can use the tag column for your own purposes ... but be aware that Oracle use the tag column for additional categorization in some lookups (FND_ISO_CHARACTER_SET_MAP is the best example but there are also many others). I think the rule is if Oracle use it, you can't ... if they don't, you can ... there is certainly nothing in the documentation to suggest it's a reserved field and I've used it myself on implementations without problems.

    Just curious about these 3 tables
    FND_LOOKUPS
    FND_LOOKUP_TYPES
    FND_LOOKUP_VALULES
    1. Is in the new design rows in FND_LOOKUPS have been split as code in FND_LOOKUP_TYPES and meaning in FND_LOOKUP_VALUES?
    2. Probably FND_LOOKUP_VALULES also caters for localization support via LANGUAGE column?

    My question: Is FND_LOOKUPS table is sort of obsolete now.
    On my E-BS instance, first and third query returns 12 rows. I don't think both tables are/can be used for same thing.

  • VO Extension Error in modifying the query of XML Publisher Report Template

    Hi Friends,
    I have one requirement related to calling XML Publisher Reports Template from OAF Page.
    When clicking on the submit button the XML Publisher template is calling and displaying the data.
    Our requirement is to display some more columns in the XML Publisher Template and display the data.
    As according to OAF stndards,whenever we need to add new columns for display or SELECT purpose,
    we will do the VO Extension. So we modified the query by adding the new additional colums in the standard VO.
    I am able to retrieve the data from the SQL DEVELOPER. But when doing the VO Extension process and
    calling the template from the OAF page its throwing the following error.Please suggest me some alternatives

    Issue solved...
    Turns out that it is not picking up data from the AR_LOOKUPS, which is actually a view.
    Used FND_LOOKUP_VALUES instead and it works fine...

    The logic is:
    1. Create any new lookup table rows that may be needed
    2. Create new data rows that reference the lookup table
    All you did was post a buch of code. You didn't post ANYTHING that shows how you executed that code or what the result was.
    You need to SHOW US (not tell us):
    1. WHAT you do
    2. HOW you do it
    3. WHAT results you get
    4. WHAT results you expected to get
    The code you posted has some SERIOUS ISSUES. Here are just three of them
    1. You are using BULK COLLECT without a LIMIT clause
    2. You are using unnecessary IF . . .COUNT statements to test collections for values. The FOR clause will simply NOT execute if the collection is empty so the IF statements add unnecessary clutter.
    3. The first loop iterates a collection but sets a single SCALAR value - making that loop totally USELESS

  • Inconsistent Vendor type

    Running "Supplier Open Interface Import" it returns the error :
    AP_INCONSISTENT_VENDOR_TYPE
    The value for VENDOR_TYPE_LOOKUP_CODE column is EMPLOYEE.
    I don't understand why.. It appears in this select:

  • Need understanding on the ADDM

    EBS version 12.1.3
    OS : Linux
    I have 2 SEV-1 SR's going on with Oracle on which we are working with them. I ran a ADDM from yesterday Morning till today afternoon( Almost 25 Hours).
    My understanding :
    1. Update query 85ag5gkm9wzmb is taking maximum of time and resources ( One SR is for this - this is Autoinvoice Master Program).
    2. SGA and PGA are undersized. Current SGA is 24Gb and PGA is 6Gb. Do I really need to increase SGA and PGA ? My previous has been that on increasing
    SGA/PGA to suggested value , it will further prompt for increasing.
    3. SYS.DBMS_SPACE.AUTO_SPACE_ADVISOR_JOB_PROC needs some action from my end, should I disable this job , what does it really do ? i am trying to figure that out ,
    any help on this will be appreciated.
    Please confirm if my understanding is correct and other suggestion/inputs you can provide. Also please suggest how to find if I/O is a bottleneck in the system ? I can see db file sequential read and db file scattered reads in the AWR but they are mostly by the update statement 85ag5gkm9wzmb.

    Hi Karan,
    If your DB node has 48 GB and there are no other applications/program running on the server than I believe you still have for room for SGA/PGA resize.
    GSS was scheduled to run at 20% till last week ( runs every week) while i just made it to run for auto_sample_size by giving the percent as 0. I have checked and found that most of the tables had good stats , though one of the programs has started to take too much time after that. So for now i have reverted it back to 20%.
    10% - 20% is the percentage which I usually go with and this works well for me. Anyways that being said 10% default would do the trick in most cases.
    The update statement which is causing the trouble is a seeded oracle program so we have checking that with oracle. ( Auto_invoice_master).
    Yes as recommended, Please get confirmation from SR as well.

  • No output for XML Publisher Report using CASE/DECODE in Where Clause

    I've a business requirement to modify an existing report which has two input parameters,
    -> p_statcode (Closed Status) which can have values 'Y' or 'N'
    -> p_overdue (Overdue Flag) which can have values 'Y' or 'N'
    The Overdue Flag is an evaluated column having values of Y/N and it is evaluated as follows,

  • How to use List of values with bind variables on item?

    Hi
    I made a dynamic list of values with a bind variable as a provider. I tried to run the list, and it worked fine - i filled inn the bind variable when asked for, and i got a list of values to choose from.
    I would very much like to use this list of values as an attribute on a custom made item. My wish is that when creating the item you someplace write the bind variable, and the list will then turn up as wanted. (I could f.ex add the variable as an attribute on the page type)
    I tried to create a custom attribute and assign the list of values to it. It created an error when I then tried to add the attribute to the item.
    Does anyone have any idea on how to solve this?
