Folder Approval Status Pending

HI,
I am adding a custom site page using a module in Visual Studio project.
Below is my sample Module Scrip
<Module Name="SampleFolder" Path="SampleFolder" Url="$Resources:osrvcore,List_Pages_UrlName;/SampleFolder" >
    <File Path="SamplePage1.aspx" Url="SamplePage1.aspx" IgnoreIfAlreadyExists="TRUE" ReplaceContent="TRUE" Type="GhostableInLibrary" Level="Published"  >
      <Property Name="Title" Value="Sample Page1" />
After deploying I am able to see a new folder SampleFolder in Pages library and able to see a file named SamplePage1 in that new folder.
The file Approval status is "Approved" but the Folder approval status is still "Pending".
Kindly help me with inputs on how can I make this Folder Approval status as "Approved".
Thanks,
kesari suresh

    I don't think you're going to be able to. Usually Approval Status is used in conjunction with Major/Minor versioning and while Approval Status is pending the item is usually a draft.
    As a result the search crawler should not be able to see the draft items as it would not have the necessary rights to do so. (Good practice ensures that the Search Crawler has only read access and is not an elevated account for this reason)

  • Update Approval Status of parent Folder based on approval status of folder items

    Hi,
    I have a SharePoint list which contains folders. Each folder contains one or more items. I wish to update the folder approval status to "Approved" when all the items inside the folder are approved.
    The workflow should trigger whenever the approval status of one or more items inside the folder is changed and is expected to check the approval status of all other items inside the folder. If all the items are approved the folder's approval status should
    be set to "approved".
    I am designing the workflow via SharePoint Designer 2013 and using SharePoint Online 2013 .
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to update Approval Status of parent Folder based on approval status of folder items.
    Per my knowledge,
    there is no out of the box way to accomplish this with SharePoint.
    Though we can loop the
    folder items to set the content approval status, we can not get the parent folder and then set the content approval status.
    As a workaround, I recoemend to create event reciever to get set the content approval status of the folder items.
    For more information, you can refer to:

  • Update form library approval status from pending to approved on multiple records

    Hi all, currently I have 508 records (forms) with the approval status set to Pending, I have an approval work flow but I turned it off to get these records in (Long story).
    Can I use an SP designer work flow to update all the values in the form library? I don't want to start a workflow on each item.
    Thanks for any help

    Hi rixmcx59,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use a workflow to update all item in SharePoint 2013.
    To achieve it, you can use Loop action to loop all items , and update them.
    More information, please refer to the link:

  • Standard Report, for checking the PR approval status by a certain User

    Hello Experts,
                          Is there any standard report in the SAP where we can find out for the given managers, if level 1 approver is Mr. X, then which all has been approved by Mr. X and and pending with subsequent approvers?
    Please help.
    thanks and regards,
    Yawar Khan

    Hi,
    Yes, standard report is available for PR approval status list using T-code ME5A - List Display of Purchase Requisitions and the following input data's are given .
    Purchasing Group                  :    ___
    Scope of List                         :  ALV
    Plant                                       :  _____  (if required)
    -  Assigned Purchase Requisitions to be ticked.
    -  Released Requisition Only to be ticked.
    -  Requisition for overall Release to be ticked.
    -  Requisition for Item-wise Release to be ticked.
    Now execute the report and then report top layout button click for  'Release indicator' option selected for released status confirmation purpose.  If release indicator status is 'X' means PR released, otherwise PR is not released.
    Hope, it is useful for you.

  • Approval Status Report, SBO v2007, current data or cumulative?

    I run the Approval Status Report while logged in as a superuser, selecting
    Document Status: 'Pending',
    no limits set in the To/From middle section,
    all document types ticked,
    and I get a list of document numbers.
    I immediately re-run the Approval Status Report while logged in as a superuser, selecting
    Document Status: 'Generated',
    no limits set in the To/From middle section,
    all document types ticked,
    and I get a list of document numbers that includes some of the 'Pending' status ones from the first run.
    How can the document be in both 'Pending' and 'Generated' status at the same time? Is this report supposed to show me the current status of documents, or all accumulated approval action taken on documents?

    Hi Cindy,
    Document number in approval is not unique.  Same number may refer to more than one document.  All draft documents will only be assigned a unique marketing document number until approved and created.
    That is probably you can see the same number in the 2 reports

  • Update a site column dynamically to Approval Status

    Hello all this is what I have;
    InfoPath form with Form Status field (Form Status promoted to SP form library as site column) form switches to read only view when Form Status = Approved
    SharePoint form library set to require content approval
    Copied and modified OOB Publishing Approval workflow with Association column, Form Status added,
    As it stands, the work flow runs and updates the list item, Form Status, to Approval Status, unfortunately Approval status is set beck to pending (which is correct behavior I assume) I need some help! can I insert the Update list item action in the workflow
    task steps? I want Form status to start as pending and then reflect whatever Approval Status value is.  This is my first attempt at modifying an OOB workflow, is this the right approach?
    Thanks for any help, I have tried several solutions but I am definately missing something. Should the workflow restart on item change? should I have versioning turned on? all I am trying to accomplish is have the form switch to read only if it's approved and
    then if for some reason someone needs to make a change I need Form Status and Approval Status to have the same value.

    Hi,
    If you only want to approve content, you can enable content approval.
    If you want to manage versions, you need to enable content approval first and then enable version.

  • OOTB Approval Workflow on Custom List does not Update Approval Status

    I have a custom list on which I've required content approval.  I then created a workflow instance from the "Approval - SharePoint 2010" template.  For this workflow I have selected "Update the approval status after the workflow
    is completed (use this workflow to control content approval".  When I approve the list item via the workflow task item the status of the item is not updated but stays at pending even though the
    workflow shows "Completed" with the Outcome of "approved".  Is this the expected behavior, i.e. does "Update the approval status after the workflow is completed (use this workflow to control content approval"
    not work for custom lists?  Does it work on any of the lists?

    Hi Kalos1840,
    If you check "Require Content Approval" setting, only the way above can update the approval status due to the approval status is for this approval workflow. As this approval workflow cannot achieve your demand, I recommend you un-check "Require Content Approval"
    setting and create a custom workflow such as the OOTB Approval Workflow or SharePoint Designer workflow.
    Here is the steps of a SharePoint Designer workflow:
    1.Go to your custom list , click Create a Workflow in SharePoint Designer.
    2.Add a “Start a task process” action in your workflow.
    3.Click “these users” and Start a Task Process edit page will pop up.
    4.In the Participants field, input your  approvers based on the order of approval.
    5.In the right of Participants field, select “Serial (one at a time)”.

  • Can't retrieve approval status in Globally Reusable Workflow (Approval - Sharepoint 2010)

    For day's i am trying to implement the following in one of the standard, out of the box, Globally Reusable Workflow with Sharepoint Designer 2010:
    If Current Item:Approval Status not equals 0:#Approved Start Approval Workflow Task process on Current Item with Parameter:Approvers Else //Nothing
    This is to prevent that a workflow is started if the item is already approved! The strange thing is, a buddy of mine has also Sharepoint 2010 and he can select in the DropDown list -Current Item: -> Approval Status..
    But the only things I can select are the following:
    Content Type
    Created By
    ID
    Modified
    Modified By
    Title
    I don't understand what is going wrong! What am i forgetting to configure or bind or set?

    I have found the solution!
    I have setup an test environment, Sharepoint 2013 on MS Server 2008R2 and installed Sharepoint Designer 2013. When I now edit the default out of the box "Approval - Sharepoint 2010", if you enter the condition "if current item field equals value", you can
    now select "Approval Status"!!
    So this means that it IS available after all! After a lot of trying, searching, this is the solution in a Sharepoint 2010 environment, installed on MS Server 2008R2:
    Edit the (global or copied version if you want) workflow.
    Add the condition "if current item field equals value" as a step.
    Select from the item field: Content Type
    Click on "equals" and change it to "not equals"
    Then click on the condition and enter manually the following: 0;#Approved
    Move the task "Start Approval Workflow Task..." up so it is a part of the condition "If.. "
    Add an Else condition
    Enter here your custom action or log to show the user that the Task is not performed.
    Save the workflow.
    We now have to manually edit the Workflow Rules file.
    In Sharepoint Designer 2010, click at the left side of the ribbon on "All Files".
    If you have created a custom workflow, you can find the "Workflow.xoml.rules" file, in the folder
    Workflows/"Your custom workflow"/"CustomWorkflow.xoml.rules".
    If you are using the global, out of the box Workflow, you can find the .rules file in:
    _catalogs/wfpub/Approval - SharePoint 2010/ReviewApproval_1033.xoml.rules
    Click on the file, then in the next screen click on "Edit file" under Customization. 4.Search for the string "ContentType" 5.When you have found the string, it looks a bit like this:
    ns1:String xmlns:ns1="clr-namespace:System;Assembly=mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089">ContentType ns1:String
    (When you look a few lines below this line, you see your added condition 0;#Approved)!
    6.Replace the string ContentType with: _ModerationStatus 7.Save the file! 8.Open in the current directory the "Workflow.xoml" file (this is the workflow itself) 9. Click on the Save button, it will give you a notice:
    A more recent version of _catalogs/wfpub/Approval - SharePoint 2010/ReviewApproval_1033.xoml.rules has been saved to the server by "user" on 1/5/2014 10:50 AM.
    Do you want to replace this with your file?
    Click NO! (Important, otherwise it will replace it with the default rules file, and nothing has changed!)
    Close Sharepoint Designer 2010, reopen SPD2010 and go to the workflow.
    Edit the workflow and you'll see the following now:
    "If Current Item: equals 0;#Approved"
    The field Content Type is now gone! This is correct so don't worry!
    Publish the workflow and you are done!
    Check now on a library that has a link to the edited workflow, when you start a new Workflow on a Approved-Major version of the document, what the outcome is:
    The workflow is discarded because of the condition and nothing happened, so your document stays on the most recent Approved-Major version and is not published back to a previous version number!!
    Conclusion: I think that the Sharepoint 2010 Designer, is missing that specific "Approval Status" field, but with the solution i have just given, you can solve this!
    C# for the win!

  • Get approval status in edit form

    Is there an easy way to retrieve item approval status (moderationStatus) inside the edit form? During display of edit form I need to know wheather the currently edited item was approved or not. I see that the information is not reflected in a hidden column
    or else. I have the following ideas:
    Custom flag column that indicates if the item was approved.
    Get the current item via js rest call and check OData__ModerationStatus.
    I just want to know if there is an easier way to get the moderationStatus of the item I am editing.
    Thank you!

    Hi Eng,
    As we all know, the approval status column is a hidden column in SharePoint and it cannot be edited manually, so there is no OOB way to display the column value in item edit form.
    The easiest way is to use code to get the current item and then display the _ModerationStatus value in your Edit Item form.
    Here is the code example:
    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    ExecuteOrDelayUntilScriptLoaded(runCode, 'sp.js');
    function runCode() {
    var value1=window.location.href.indexOf("?")+4;
    var value2=window.location.href.indexOf("&");
    var url=window.location.href;
    var itemId=url.substring(value1,value2);
    var clientContext = new SP.ClientContext();
    var targetList = clientContext.get_web().get_lists().getByTitle('Case Date');
    targetListItem = targetList.getItemById(itemId);
    clientContext.load(targetListItem, '_ModerationStatus');
    clientContext.executeQueryAsync(Function.createDelegate(this, this.onQuerySucceeded), Function.createDelegate(this, this.onQueryFailed));
    function onQuerySucceeded() {
    var status=targetListItem.get_item('_ModerationStatus');
    switch(status) {
    case 0:
    alert("Approved");
    break;
    case 1:
    alert("Rejected");
    break;
    case 2:
    alert("Pending");
    break;
    case 3:
    alert("Draft");
    break;
    function onQueryFailed(sender, args) {
    alert('Request failed. \nError: ' + args.get_message() + '\nStackTrace: ' + args.get_stackTrace());
    </script>
    You can also take a look at the link below about changing the Approval Status column in Edit item form:

  • Can you update Approval Status in Sales order using DI API using SDK

    Hi experts,
    Can we actually update the Approval Status(WddStatus) in Sales order From approved to pending using DI API.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,
    When the sales order is originally created, and at that point pending approval, it is stored as a draft. Once approved, a sales order is created based on the draft.
    In other words, the pending document and the approved document are two entirely separate objects in the database (they use different tables), and in the SDK.
    That means that you can certainly realize your requirement, but you will have to look at it from another perspective. In quasi code:
    Intercept the update event
    Check if any changes were made that warrant another approval round
    If so, duplicate the (adjusted) order, and submit the new order to trigger the new approval round.
    Close or cancel the original order.
    Admittedly this seems a bit silly, but unfortunately the approval process in B1 is still not perfect. As such I recommend that you (also) log on to the SAP Business One Idea Place, (it is free, like the SCN) and vote for any ideas that pertain to your requirement, and/or create an idea of your own.
    Another approach all together could be to instruct users not to make changes to orders, and to use the stored procedure to prevent updates. And allowing users to only submit a new order altogether (they can use the duplicate functionality).
    Regards,
    Johan

  • Approval Status Collaboration error

    Hi
    As I was changing the approval status of an appset, I suddenly received the following message:
    Error:Initializing failed (Error of retrieve information about current entity).
    When I click onto the category or Entity I receive this message: "Your user ID does not have the correct permissions to access this application or dimension.". I have rebooted my machine and processed security and this has had no impact. I have admin rights in this appset. Has anyone come across this before?

    Hi,
    You will have a folder in your local system for BPC. This folder should be available in the my documents folder. Please delete that and then login to BPC admin through connection wizard.
    Is everyone facing the same problem or is it only your ID? Please try doing it with other IDs in your system. This will help us to identify whether the problem is with the ID or with the system.

  • BCM - Approval status

    Hi All,
    I made all relevant settings for BCM.
    Run the APP & created payment batch. Also got it approved.
    Even after downloading the file, the batch is not being moved from "Approved" status to "Sent to Bank" status. (Refer TCode BNK_MONI).
    Is there any config settings required for the same?
    please advise.
    Regards
    Malathi

    Hello Alaa,
    2. Out of Swift Channel - I hope this is via PI flow. Here you have to do some mapping in PI side and configuration in Sap ( Map external status to internal status in BCM ) to get the correct messages / acknowledgement after sending the file from SAP to PI side and from PI side to Third party who is sending the encrypted file to bank.
    Once the encrypted payment file is placed in AL11 folder after the BCM approvals and the same will be displayed as Payment medium created of that batch.
    Once the third party is receiving the file from PI side thn the message is as Received by payment network to that batch.
    It will change as Received by bank once the bank receives the file.
    If the payment documents data is correct then the message is shown as Accepted by bank once bank accepts that file
    You can find the status of that batch in BNK_MONI by selecting the batch andthen check the history of that batch.
    I hope it helps!
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Leveraging Workflow Approval status in Word document

    I am using SharePoint 2013 and have created an Approval workflow that works as expected.
    I would like to leverage the Approval Status within the document so that if someone views or prints the document, it will show "Pending" or "Approved" depending on where in the approval process the document is.
    Once final approval has been made, I would also like to display within the document (e.g. cover page) the name of the approver, the date the approval occurred.
    Would I have to use a Lookup column and point that to something?

    Hi,
    According to you description, my understanding is that you want to create an approval workflow which is able to set the status and approved time and the approver in the document.
    Per my knowledge, there is no OOTB way to achieve your request. As a workaround, you can set this in document library. If someone views the document library, it will show the status and approved time and the approver in the document.
    You could create a workflow using SharePoint 2010 platform in SharePoint  2013 Designer:
    Create a date column named “Date” and a person column named “Approver” and a Single line of text column named “MyStatus” default value is “Pending” in library.
    In SharePoint Designer 2013 using SharePoint 2010 platform ,select “Start Approval Process” action, set the user.
    Add action “set [Date field] to [Today]”, in Approval -> Change the behavior of the overall task process in Customization field -> in When the Task Process Completes field, shown as figure below.
    Add action “set [Approver] to [Current Task:Assigned To]”, “set [MyStatus] to [Approved]”in Approval -> Change the behavior of a single task in Customization field -> in When a Task Completes field. The steps are similar as above.
    Then you can show the library content type column value in document template via “Quick Parts”,  access library settings -> Advanced settings -> click Edit Template, in Insert tag -> Document Property -> insert column you want, shown as
    figure below.
    Thanks,
    Dean Wang
