Folder Restriction Alert

I get this error when downloading no matter what folder I try to download to "Download may fail to foler /Applications due to restrictive acess priileges.  Please select a different folder."

The error is indicating that you are choosing the Applications folder or a sub-folder of the Applications folder.  If you choose the default location of your User folder do you receive the same error?
Alternately you can follow the steps listed at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 to initiate a direct download.

    I am getting a headache from the new method of trialing software, that is through the download assistant, as it give me an error everytime I try to download. I am running Windows 7 64-bit, I am downloading CS6 Master Collection and the error is this; "Folder Restriction Alert Download may fail to folder 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe' due to restrictive access privileges. Please select a different folder." This is ridiculous as I have run the download assistant as an admin and would not get this error with a .exe file. I have attempted to do the sam to Program Files as I am 64 bit but I get the same error. I needed this software yesterday so anyhelp would be greatly recieved. thanks so much

    Well, you could have some odd group policy in place instated by some security tool/ UAC/ the Windows firewall. turn that stuff off temporarily/ reset the config. Other than that try this:

  • Restriction alert

    When I select a folder to download a CS6 trial version I get Folder Restriction Alert I am on a Mac. I'm looking in the forums but see no answers. Can anybody help? please.

    Mylenium is correct we actually specifically added this error message due to users trying to download their installation files into the Applications and Program Files folders. 
    Pattyooooo please try selecting the default location of your User folder to download the installation files too.  Once the download is complete you can then invoke the installer in your User folder to install the software to your Applications folder.

  • Restrict alerts - ABAP application error

    Hi,
       I need to restrict alerts getting generated for ABAP application error faults. Is there a way to specify exclude these errors in the alert rules or how can i acheive this.
       We are having a fault message form ECC, due to application error in ABAP. We do not want an alert raised for this error.

    Hello Vinay,
    the alert rules defintion is somewhat limited.
    You can only specify "include" rules but no "exclude" rules.
    It is not possible to specify: "Sent all Alerts, except ECC Application error"
    I already have raised this as development request.
    The only alternative is to specify a rule for every alert which you do want to receive and leave out the application error (I know, this is not satisfying)

  • Counting files in a folder and showing results in an alert window.

    Hello all.
    I would like to get the script to count the number of files in a selected folder.
    I have a UI where there are browse, ok and cancel buttons.
    I wanted the OK button to show the number of jpeg files in the selected folder. If no folder is selected, and the OK button is pressed, it would prompt the user to select a folder before pressing the OK button.

    all you need to learn scripting is in the "JavaScript Tools Guide", you're making some progress but reading that and following the samples will make things clear and speed the learning proccess up.
    if you look at your code there's only one function, it is called when the Browse button is clicked. See how it is constructed and write another similar function for the Ok button, in there read the contents of the label box and create a folder with that path, then call the function to read the files.

  • Restricted access to a folder

    Hi, all
    I have in Designer Collaboration ( cfolders) one structure of folders similar to the following:
    Main Folder
                Public Folder
                Restrict Folder
    And  this is my problem: I have  that in the Public folder is general information in the folder Restrict information is restricted for many users, then I need to give access to the folder Restrict a certain group of users and the Public folder that all users have access
    Any idea how I can do this?

    But I have a problem, when it deleted sap_all and sap_new profile in the user USERTEST1 in the backend, in the portal not see any folder.Do not have access to anything.
    And we want the user does not have access or not display the folder restricted (e.x: Restrict Folder), but if the other folders created (e.x: Public Folder)
    I found in the profile sap_all some authorizations to be concerned cfolders:

  • How to set up new fax alert?

    Is there any way to get an alert when a fax is received? I have set up an Apple script, specifically, a faxes folder alert using the "new items alert script" from the sample scripts, but it doesn't seem to do anything when a fax arrives and the pdf file ends up in the faxes folder.
    So, for now, I have to manually check the Faxes folder periodically to see if one has come in. Also, when I send a fax using the print pdf as fax method, it works, but there is no saved record of the fax.
    Do I have to buy a third party fax program to accomplish these things? If so, can anyone recommend something basic and cheap?

    Well, I got the Fax Alert, really a folder change alert, to work--a popup window that says I have a new file in the faxes folder--but apparently the "folder change alert" only works if you set it up for the folder in question each time you start or reboot the computer. There's no permanent or automatic folder alert, apparently.
    As for the email notification, yes, I have it set up that way, but it doesn't work because my SMTP server, whether Comcast or Earthlink or any other dynamic IP provider, rejects emails sent from an unrecognized IP (from my computer). The ISP /can/ set things up so that it will permit these to go through, but not on a residential account with a dynamic IP address. I would have to get a business, fixed IP at significantly more cost.
    I do wonder whether the Apple server would somehow allow this, but haven't been able to get it to work.

  • Alerts: background job scheduling

    i have defined alerts, and gave "no restriction " alert rule in runtime workbench. my doubt is whether can we define background jobs for the alerts. if so how it will be possible and how it will impact the performance of the XI server??
    how can we find out which background jobs are assibned for the alerts.

        No need to schedule back ground jobs if your are on PI....i.e version 7.0
    if you are on XI 3.0...based on the SP you need to schedule the report for generating the alerts....

  • Deleting movie files in iMovie Sharing - iTunes -folder

    When I share a project to iTunes a movie file is created not only in Music>iTunes>iTunes Music>Movies but also in Movies>iMovie Sharing>iTunes. If I then delete a project, no movie file is deleted. In iTunes I can delete a movie file. But then the movie file in iMovie Sharing>iTunes still exists. Is it ok just to manually (using Finder) delete the movie files in iMovie Sharing>iTunes I don't need any more or is there a logic behind this behaviour I don't understand.

    This is because with iTunes you have the option of copying files into the iTunes library, or leaving them where they are. iMovie doesn't have anyway to know which option you're using. All iMovie does is create the file in the "iMovie Sharing" folder then alert iTunes to import it.
    Once the import is done, if you have iTunes copying content into the library, you are free to delete them from the sharing folder since they are duplicates.
    BTW: You will still have yet another copy contained within the project itself which is used for iLife sharing. Sharing one movie for example, in three sizes, actually puts 9 copies of the movie on your hard drive! Three copies for each of the three sizes. It can add up quickly.

    The only standout is the line:

    where:

    In other words, copyFolder is a string. You're trying to duplicate a file to a string? Doesn't seem viable to me.
    Maybe you mean:
                    duplicate copyitem to folder copyFolder with replacing
    In other words, identify the destination as a folder rather than a string.
    If that doesn't work, remove the try/end try statements. This will let the script report any errors, rather than failing gracefully. try/end try is useful for production but supresses error messages, which makes troubleshooting harder.

  • SBO Mailer, message fails to be sent

    Hi,
    I try to send invoices via SBO Mailer... the message appears in my SENT ITEMS (in Messages/alerts overview), but with a red X, meaning that there is an error while trying to send the message.  When I try to send messages without attachments, it works.
    How can I know what is the error ?  I can see AOB1.Confirmed2 = 'E', but is there a field or another table where I can see the source of the error ? 
    Is there a timeout that can be configured within SBO Mailer ?  Our customer has a slow internet connection, but when trying to send those invoices (in PDF) via Outlook, it works...  so how can I know what's wrong with the mails containing attachments ?

    Error 35 - this error occurs when trying to send an e-mail with an attachment, that cannot be created or accessed via the Attachments path as defined in SAP Business One. It is necessary to verify that there are no folder restrictions on the Attachments folder. It is also necessary to verify that the created attachment has a valid name. In case the operating system does not support the specific language used in SAP Business One, the Service Manager will not recognize the created file. In NT 4.0 Servers, try running the SBO Mailer under an Administrator account, instead of under a Local service account.

  • Property dialog timeout syntax

    This should be an easy one for you guys. I am not literate enough to know off hand. I want to edit my default folder script which alerts me on the file dropped to my faxes folder. What do I set the "property dialog_timeout: x) to if I want to loop indefinitely to await my response. It is currently 300 (not sure if this means seconds) but I would like the alert to stay on so If I am away and return I know there is activity. To save space I wont include the basic script as it's a standard default choice in the OS. If you want me to add the script or if you want to recommend an alternative, feel free. This seemed the easiest route to accomplish the task.

    *I've been slowly teaching myself Applescript, and can't seem to find a way to do a few things. Basically what I'm trying to do is set up a script that will run when items are dropped into a folder on my FTP. I want the script to have a pop-up dialogue, and generate an email to certain users announcing new files are on the FTP. I have these 2 parts down, but I would also like the body of the email to include a list of the filenames. This part I can't figure out.*
    *I just need to find a function that will copy the filenames of new items, and paste them into the body of the email already being generated. My current code is below. Anyone have any ideas to help me expand?*
