Folder upload

Question

Hi!
Can anyone, please, tell me if there is any possibility to
recursively upload content of a certain folder to a web server from
a client local directory using flash? I mean if it's possible to
choose a folder in file chooser dialog so that after submitting a
form all files from this folder and all files from its sub folders
will be sent to the server.

There is Batchloader/Batchbuilder which might give you the desired functionality. Depends on your requirements somewhat. If you just have a pile of content in a folder that you want checked into the Content Server that solution will likely work for you.
If you're using the Folders component and you want the folder structure on the file system to be replicated to the Content Server that gets trickier. You might be able to drag and drop it with WebDAV, that works okay for smaller batches of content. For larger amounts of content I've found this to be a difficult and error prone process. There are a variety of ways to write a custom client to handle this, there's a web services API, there's a Java API if you have CIS. I wrote a Perl script that will replicate a file structure to the Content Server that just uses LWP::UserAgent to do the same HTTP service calls that your browser would normally make, these are easy to figure out with Firefox and Live HTTP Headers or similar. The tricky part is that checking content into a folder doesn't use a folder name, it uses the collection ID. So, you need to parse out the response when you create a new folder so that you have that collection ID to subsequently check in the documents to.
