Closing or Disposing the Connection Does Not Release Open Cursors
Hi,
I have an architecture like this:
Web Service ---> Business COM+ Component ---> Data COM+ Component
I found that doing a SetAbort() plus explicitly close and dispose the OracleConnection object in my COM+ component does not necessarily close the open cursor.
The way I tested was I would call the same same service multiple times and do a "select * from v$open_cursor where user_name = 'xxx'", I would see a bunch of open cursors with exactly the same SQL_TEXT. The only way to close those open cursors seems to be killing the aspnet_wp.exe process in the Task Manager.
Someone here suggested it might be .NET's problem but I don't think so since I had the same problem with OraMTS 9i.
Can someone from Oracle help? Thanks.
-LinusNeeraj,
Thank you for your reply. I'd like to let you know that my company submitted a TSR ticket last year (around Oct.?) on this issue and it's still not fixed, yet. This problem prevents us from using COM+ to handle any transactions, which is not acceptable to us. Please try to raise the issue again to your development team if you can, we are depending on the fix. -

Any suggestions please on how to recover connection of ipad2 to Vizio wifi? (it worked fine in the last few months but the connection no longer exist although other laptops continue to have wifi connection to the same Vizio router.
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Unable to Connect After iOS Update - saw this solution on another post.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

If any of the above solutions work, please post back what solved your problem. It will help others with the same problem.

JInternalFrame is closed, but does not release the memory
Hi,
I have problem with using of JInternalFrame.
I create a new internal frame, and close it."setClosed(true);dispose();"
The frame does not release the memory (after gc the allocated memory is the same)
Before close I removed all listeners, and closed all reference to other object. (I think so :-) )
Do You have any idees?
regards
GborHi,
I think u will have to release all the associated used objects. or you can also call the finalize() method in order to release the memory.

When creating PDFs, the PDF does not open.
I am using Acrobat Pro X...and have had no problem creating PDFs. Suddenly today when I create the PDFs, although they are created, the PDF does not automatically open upon creation (I have to go to the file folder location and open the PDF).
I tried repairing the Acrobat installation and that didn't help. And actually when trying through the Control Panel, a 2nd PDF printer was created which I cannot figure out how to delete (they both are listed under the same Adobe PDF printer).
So, the main issue is fixing so I the PDF automatically opens upon being created.....but if someone can help with the 2nd PDF printer that would be appreciated.
SteveThe check box is in the default properties of the Adobe PDF printer, under the settings tab. Get there with Start>Printers>select Adobe PDF and right click to check printing preferences. This is a selection, not a reason to reinstall. How it got unchecked is a different question.
If there are Adobe PDF printers present, just delete one of them or rename the second one to something else (like Adobe PDF backup). -
Quick Time Pro - The movie could not be open. This is not a movie file.
I upgraded to 7.4.5 and now I can't view any of my AVI files. I am getting the following error message.
The movie could not be open. This is not a movie file. Please help!It is most likley a problem in the new Quick Time (QT). My Updater downloaded the new QT 7.4.5 two Saturdays ago. I have been making movies in iMovie then posting them to YouTube. In the beginning I uploaded the movies as MOVs but soon discovered AVI files (larger file and added time to upload) had more clarity when viewed on YouTube. Once the new QT 7.4.5 downloaded all my AVIs had picture, but no sound! I downloaded the Perian component as posted in QT discussions. The sound returned to the AVI files. However, when I Exported an AVI movie from iMovie the picture quality was worse than MOV. There is something wrong with the new QT 7.4.5 when working with AVI, my AVI movies look terrible. These AVI files were all downloaded from my Ultra Flip Video camera with Flip’s codec 3vix. Flip is aware of this problem and acknowledged it last week, I sure hope Apple is also aware.

I have an apple iphone 4 that I want to download audio books from my library onto. I cannot figure out how to do that. The iphone does not show up on my mac laptop as a connected device. Does this kind of download have to run through itunes? Thanks
Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device. The following is general information on iTunes sync: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386 and the following is a previous discussion where the post by Andreas Junge helped others that had a problem syncing audiobooks: https://discussions.apple.com/message/20052732#20052732

I have my PC on, then plug in my iPad (which is on) and open iTunes. The iPad does not show up in the sidebar. How do you get it to show up so that I can select the iPad and then configure the sync settings in each of the settings panes....hoping that these actually show up.
In the manual it says "log in to your computer user account before connecting iPad". I am the only user of this PC...does this mean some other user account. I am confused. I need "baby steps" to tell me how to do all this....very senior and just learning about this wonderful machine. I will very much appreciate your help.If you are the only user on your computer you probably don't have multiple user accounts set up and can disregard that. If you are using iTunes 11 go to View>Show Sidebar. Now see if your iPad appears under Devices on the left side when you connect it. If it does, click on the name of your iPad on the left side and your iTunes sync settings options will appear in folders with tabbed headings to the right.
If it doesn't appear on the left side, follow the troubleshooting steps shown in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538. -
The following error pop's up as an [OK] dialogue box after logging in the iMac,
There was a problem connecting to the server "Time Capsule".
The share does not exist on the server. Please check the share name, and then try again."
As it happens, a connection to the Time Capsule is established usually, anyway. On occasion it doesn't.
I have a Volume, Data, on the capsule, which similarly, usually mounts, but occassionally doesn't, with access permissions denied.
Any suggestions on how begin to work out how to achieve networking seamlesness?First, restart the Time Capsule by disconnecting the power adapter and reconnecting it. If other devices on the network can see it, you can skip this step.
From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences ▹ Network
Click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the window and authenticate to unlock the settings, if necessary. Click the Advanced button, then select the TCP/IP tab in the sheet that drops down. Click Renew DHCP lease.
Try again to back up.
If you still can't, open the Time Machine preference pane and delete the TC from the list of backup destinations. You may have to unlock the settings by clicking the lock icon in order to do this. Then add it back. -
Yesterday I reset my settings on my iphone 4 to correct a problem. Today I am unable to connect to itunes to sync my phone. The device does not show up on the screen. What can I do?
Best practices says plug the USB cable into the computer, then plug the 30 pin connector into the iPhone.
If everything is working correctly, you should be able to plug the iPhone in at any time. Before or after opening iTunes.
Depending on what settings are selected in iTunes, the program may or may not automatically open when you connect the device.
