Font support

Does Motion has support for regional font, I need Croatian ŠĐĐČĆŽ.
I try but only few fonts are OK, other fonts has missing fonts, is there some font editor, to change fonte looks, how to resolve this problem?

Hi,
It is not a question of Motion support. The font itself must support other languages. Most opentype fonts do - the format supports much more character sets than standard true type fonts. Small font foundries usually do not have man power or expertise to create a full language support so they create only a basic latin set.
As for font editors:
commercial - Fontographer
freeware - Font Forge.
Be carefull though, I guess not all font licenses allow to edit contens of the font file.
Ninja's tip: edit the text in Illustrator, draw the missing characters, convert the text to outlines, save as an PDF and import into Motion. Of course, you can't use text behaviors then, but with keyframes and other behaviors you can recreate the look.

Language support is outside of Captivate. As long as you have the font installed in your system, it will work in Captivate.

Hindi Font support

I have a pdf file which has Hindi fonts. I want to convert into Microsoft Excel. I checked with online customer support and they told me I can download Adobe Acrobat X. But I understand they do not have Hindi fonts support.
I do have font Arial Unicode MS Regular on my machine
Kindly advice which is best way to do it

IOS Asian font support for apps?

In iOS 6, Apple removed support for Asian fonts needed for pdfs whose Asian fonts are not actually embedded in the files.
Does anyone know if there is an app in the App store that contains these fonts that would make them available for other applications to use? Or would that be considered a change to the OS and not be allowed?
For myself, resaving these PDFs to embed the fonts is not a viable option - I have 2,000 of them on my iPad and not only is that more work than is worth, but it increases the size of each file by a factor of 10. Not only that but they open a lot slower (I tried it on one or two of them). It's a terrible idea if one has a lot of files.
I'm looking into other manufacturers' tablets to replace my iPad to see if they h, but if I can find an app that will let me keep my pad for the purpose for which I bought it, that would be even better.

Will the added support Cyrillic fonts in the future?

First check is to ensure the Java JVM can see the font. The Java SDK comes with the JFC demo Font2DTest. Do the fonts show up there?
Note that the Java JRE has a lib/fonts directory, where you can place TrueType fonts that the JRE then would use.

Some Unicode does not display despite proper font support

I am having trouble figuring out why certain pages do not display Unicode blocks I know I have fonts for. For example, I have fonts for Imperial Aramaic (Quivira and 2 others), and two for Linear B Ideograms (Aegean, Code2001). I have verified this via the excellent BabelMap application, which will show you which fonts installed support which Unicode blocks. If I go into the preferences and make the default font Quivira, the Imperial Aramaic characters get displayed, but not the Linear B ones. And vice versa if I pick Aegean as the font. I would expect FFox to figure it out and work out any font that could support the Unicode block. Here are 2 test pages:

Did you try to select a common font like Verdana or Arial as the default font?
That should make Firefox automatically use the right font if the currently selected font don't have the glyphs.
You may also have to enable fonts for web pages.
*Tools > Options > Content Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

Are chinese fonts supported in Acrobat 10.0.3 Standard?

I have Adobe Acrobat 10.0.3 Standard installed, but it was from a remote location. When I try to open a pdf with Chinese font in ACROBAT (not Reader), it prompts for the installer location (which I do not have). Is there just a patch I can run to allow chinese fonts in Adobe Acrobat 10.0.3 Standard?

i try to use embed font on a textfield,however,the embed font can only support limit character glyphs.
so i was think is it possible that if the font include character,i use that font,if not include,i use default system font

Hi,
You can create your own styles in transaction SMARTSTYLES. Then, in your smartform, you have to add the style you have created in the "output options" tab screen of the text elements.

International Fonts Support

I have installed JDeveloper 3.0 on a Win2000 Proffesional edition with Arabic Language support.
However when I try to design a form in JDeveloper IDE and use Arabic characters, which is supported by the JDK according to the documentation, as labels or in text fields from the database I get strange symbols displayed on the form but proper text in the source code.
Can anybody tell me how I can get proper arabic characters displayed on the form?

Some of the problems you are seeing may be due to the fact that JDeveloper 3.0 is only certified on Windows NT.
Labels and buttons should work. Text fields are not supported until JDK 1.3.
You mention 'strange symbols'. The cause of the problem depends on what these 'strange symbols' are:
a small square indicates a problem with the fonts
a question mark ? indicates a character set conversion problem
latin-looking characters (o's with umlats, etc.) are probably due to JDeveloper running on the wrong operating system
I would check out the Javasoft website for more information (www.javasoft.com). They have tutorials for internationalization, and the specs for the specific versions will tell you what is supported.
