Forcing a "task" to be assigned

Hi all,
I am wondering if CRM has the capabilities of making the Sales Reps have to assign themselves a task for any open opportunities.
Would it have to be a workflow rule? Or is there another way to get that to happen?
The higher ups want to make it so that the sales reps have to have a task for every active/open opportunity in the crm.
Thanks in advance!!

Yes multiple tasks can be created, but you cannot create such a way that another one gets created when one is completed. You can set up multiple tasks with different due dates. Basically when you move a stage you can set up "n" number of tasks with each task a due date that can be specified in such a way that each task is due after "x" number of days from the time the stage has changed. i.e you can say when the sales stage is "Initial Presentation"you need 5 tasks to happen in such a way that task 1 after 1 day after the sales stage change, task 2 after 3 days after the sales stage etc...
When the automatic tasks are populated the due date will be set up accordingly - user can then go and change the due date as per his liking.

  • CProjects-MS Project - import and export of task-role-resource assignment

    Hi,
    We are on PPM5.0
We are currently working on cProjects-MSP client integration.
What we have not been able to configure for import/export so far is:
    1. Task-Role-Resource assignment
Whereas we are are able to import/export the "Person Responsible" and "Role Responsible" fields, we have not been able to align the task-role-resource assignments.
We see a "Resource Name" column (Standard) in MSP. When we click on the drop down, we see all the roles from the cProjects project. But the alignment does not happen.
    Summary:
On export and import, we need to automatically see the role-resource-task assignment. How is this possible?
    2. Code field to "VC_BUPA_GUID" gets a number which is not the BP ID.
Is it possible to import the BP numbers in MSP. Also, how can we assign a number to the role in MSP such that on import into cProjects, the role is already staffed with the corresponding BP.
    3. Is it possible to export all the resources (BPs) into a drop down in MSP - like we see the Project Type, Role Type etc.
    Thanks.

    Hi Anuradha,
    Thanks for your inputs.
When we export to MSP, we see the cProjects roles under the "Resource Name" drop down in MSP.
However, they are only seen when we expand on the drop down.
For e.g. RoleA, and RoleB are two roles in cProjects project, along with many other roles.
Both of these roles are assigned to a task, say TASK1.
When exported to MSP, we expect both of these roles to show against TASKI, as "RoleA, RoleB" under the "Resource Name" column. However, these roles are not seen. They only appear as elements of drop down, along with all other roles in the project, when we explicitly click on the drop down.
Please let me know if I are missing out on something.
    Thanks.

  • I have assigned standard task as General Task in agent assignment but why there is a red flag beside the agent assignment property in task property like the image below?

I have assigned standard task as General Task in agent assignment but why there is a red flag beside the agent assignment property in task property like the image below?

    Hi Atiq
    Now that's concerning.....!!!
This error usually shows up when the workflow is not able to resolve the outcome of the decision....no branch is there for the selected decision.
Since, the standard workflow is also going in an error....this is something wrong...
Did anyone play around with the standard decision task?
I am not sure if this will help, try generating the task and standard workflow by executing the FM SWD_WFD_REPLICATE_FROM_9999 from SE37 directly. First, generate the task (give full task ID TS00008267 as the input and execute; and then the standard verification workflow in the next exec).
Try and test again...if this works, generate your custom workflow again like this.
The above is a pure guess and I am not sure if this will work.

  • Force a Task Sequence to Re-Run with advertisement set to not Re-Run

    Hi there,
Is it possible to force a task sequence to re-run when the advertisement is set to not re-run? Even when deleting the advertisement and recreating a new advertisement (which forces a new ID creation), somewhere in the workstation (be it WMI and/or registry)
it knows that the task sequence (due to the same Package ID) has already run.
    This guide is partially handy
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/steverac/archive/2009/11/06/sccm-forcing-a-task-sequence-to-rerun.aspx
However, he does not mention how to do so with the advertisement set to not rerun - only 'always rerun program'
    Thanks, Amiel

    Hi
You can re-run TS by following 3 ways
If you have installed Configuration Manager ToolKit then there is an option called "SCCM ConfigMgr Tools" by right clicking on a collection which would give you an option "ReRun Advertisements". Through this, you can re-run TS.
I have the toolkit installed however the Program rerun behavior is set to Never rerun advertised program, so when I choose
'rerun advertisement' through SCCM I receive 'Unable to set RerunBehaviour. Program will not rerun'.
So back to my original question, if the Program rerun behaviour is set to 'Never rerun advertised program' NOT 'Always rerun program' (as explained in the link I provided) - is it at all possible to Force a rerun through WMI or registry?
*Update - this is not a PXE Task Sequence either.

  • Extended Notification not working for Dialog Task with agent assignment

    Hi Friends,
I have an issue where I have a user decision step and a sub workflow contains a dialog task with agent assignment.
Extended notification is configured properly and is working properly for user decision step but its not working for the dialog task created as an activity.
Batch jobs are configured to run report SWN_SELSEN.
I was checking SDN and found this discussion handy :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/4f/3bed495cc018c8e10000000a42189e/content.htm
One thing that wonders me is that notifications show up in SOST 4-5 seconds before the user decision step starts execution.
See screenshot from SOST and WF log.
    SOST log :
2 questions here: Why is notification not being sent for Dialog task?
Why is user decision notification being sent that early even before the User decision task starts execution?
    Please provide your valuable inputs.
    Regards,
    Sandip

An activity step with agents is supported by the extended notifications if it is a decision task or not, I have used it many times and it works well just no approval/rejection links if it's not a decision task.
From your screenshot you can see that a mail has been created and is found in SOST, usually this cases are problems with the mail server or connection to it, check the mail settings in the SMTP node in transaction SCOT, also check with mail server team if there is a block to/from the SAP server.

  • New task assigned to user from CurrentItem:UserField using Assign task action is assigned to different user.

    Hello !
I have run into "funny" problem.
    I have following workflow:
User is creating item in ListA. In new form he needs to put Manager which is User Field column type. From people picker he is choosing login name Domain\jo (Two letters seems to be important here). User is resolved correctly to John Doe. Item is saved and
added to list correctly. In list view John Doe is displayed in Manager column. In view item John Doe is in Manager field. In powershell Id;#John Doe is as a Manager field value.
    Now the "funny" part:
After item is added to ListA workflow is started automatically. Workflow is assigning new task to user from Manager (CurrentItem:Manager) field using Assign task action. Now the new task is assigned to different person i.e. John Dimagio with login name DOMAIN\jod
! When I am logging value to wf history of the CurrentItem:Manager field I am getting sth like i;123#DOMAIN\jod . So value is completely different and wrong.
Can someone explain why is this happening?
My guess is that using two letters login name can cause such case but why ?

  • Windows 8.1 Task Sequence and Assigned Access

    Hi all,
I have to build a few hundred kiosk machines with Windows 8.1, a custom LoB appx app, and assigned access. I am attempting to do it using SCCM OSD, but I have a couple of problems.
Appx applications cannot be installed during a task sequence, so is pre-provisioning via dism on the command line the answer?
It seems that assigned access can only be set up for local accounts (from an admin account) after the
local account has logged in at least once. How would this work as part of a task sequence?
    Any ideas welcome.
    Thanks,

  • BPM 7.2 Tasks not getting assigned to user UWL

    Hi All,
I am on CE7.2 and downlaoded NWDS for the same.
I follwed Donka Dimitrova's article to create a BPM process (name, age) application. I had earlier tried it on CE 7.11 and it worked fine. But now on CE7.2 when I initiate the process from /nwa, the first user (user assigned to the very first task) doesnt get it in UWL. I .looked into nwa and It seems like the tasks itself are not getting created because there are no tasks under "Manage Tasks" option.
    Is there some configuration missing.
Note: I have assigned tasks to users in the Process in IDE and EP-BPEM UWL configuration is done.
    Prem

    hi,
have you run the configuration wizard?
    http://yourhost:port/nwa/cfg-wizard
there is a task for BPM. just execute it.
if you have already run the wizard, you can go to following place to check and make further change if required.
    http://yourhost:port/nwa/sys-config
    select "Applications" tab
put "bpembaseear" in the name filter, select that application in the result table
you will see the properties tab
if your locale is not there, you can fix now.
    Best regards,

  • Aging BPEL PM to force workflow tasks to expire

I need to be able to age the BPEL PM server in order to force tasks to expire in minutes/hours rather than the waiting 90 calendar day period. 1) Does BPEL PM use the system time as a reference? ie Could I age the server with a java time machine environment? 2)Can anyone point me to an "approved" method of aging workflows for system and end to end test purposes?
    Thanks,
    Kelaman

You could cancel a outstanding workflow. This means you could write your own code in BPEL, that cancels the workflow depending on your rules. Cancelling can be down by accesing the HumanTask Enging with a different operation. See the WSDL of your HUmanTask which operation you could use.
Cancellation is done based on the TaskID that is returned after human task is created.

  • Bar graph for force control task

    Hello,
I am currently conducting an experiment during which the subject is asked to produce a given target level of grip force using a hand-held dynamometer and to maintain that target force level for a given amount of time.
I want to display a visual feedback regarding this task to the subject. Specifically, I want to show the subject the target force level that (s)he needs to produce and the actual, real-time force level that (s)he is producing. I created a VI in which I do this using a waveform graph which displays two horizontal lines as a function of time, namely a green line for the target force level and a blue line for the real-time force level. The task thus consists in putting the blue line on the green line and maintaining it at that level for a given amount of time.
The reason why I am posting this message is that I would like the visual feedback display to show not two horizontal lines that the subject needs to match, but a vertical bar that represents the real-time force level, and a line that represents the target force level. The height of the vertical bar would vary with the real-time force that the subject is producing, and the task would be to raise the vertical bar to the target force level and maintain it at that height for a given amount of time.
Is there a function that I can use for the display that I want (I notably tried the Vertical Pointer Slide, Tank, and Thermometer functions, but none of them seems to fit my needs..?)? Or would anyone have an idea about how to do this?
    Cheers,
    Ech

    Hi Ech,
I made a little example program. It doesn't do exactly what you want to do, but I think that the format of the graph is how you want it. The thing is, it makes a difference which order you input the arrays. If you look at the top bundle, I've crossed wires to wire it up in order to get the x-value on top. It will always take that first array as the x-axis.
    Hope that helps!

  • SQL query returns value but EXEC SQL Task fails to assign variable

I have an execute SQL task to get an identifier from an Oracle database and assign it to a variable (the variable is used in subsequent query's where clauses to transfer the data to a SQL Server database). If I copy the query from the SSIS
package to the Oracle SQL Developer interface and run the query; I get the expected single identifier. If I run the execute SQL task I get the error "[Execute SQL Task] Error: An error occurred while assigning a value to variable "VariableName":
"Single Row result set is specified, but no rows were returned."
I can create phony/simpler versions of the query that will return the wrong identifier that will successfully assign the value to the variable, so the problem isn't with the variable itself or the way the result set is set up in the task (Result
Set/Single Row in the General panel; Result Name 0/VariableName in the Result Set panel).
How can two queries that return a single value produce different results with respect to the variable assignment process?

Perhaps you can trap (profile) the query in Oracle to see what it gets submitted,
    thing is this query
select id from table where ProcessedStatusColumn is null and DateColumn = (sub select to get most recent date in table where ProcessedStatusColumn is null)
is not guaranteed to return a value, you need a default returned in case the search failed e.g.
    select
    NVL(id, 0)
from table where ProcessedStatusColumn is null and DateColumn =
(sub select to get most recent date in table where
    ProcessedStatusColumn is null)

  • In Sharepoint 2013 Workflows, can a task be re-assigned?

I find that in SharePoint 2013 SP Designer based workflows, I can not find the settings to make the workflow tasks re-assignable.
This was possible in 2010, I can't find how or where to check off 're-assign task'.
    Thanks, Roy Kim

    Hi,
In SharePoint 2013 there two platform workflows, SharePoint 2010 workflow and SharePoint 2013 workflow. Which kind of workflow
do you want to create? If it’s 2010 based workflow, then to reassign task form is used the same method. If it’s 2013, then there only two task actions, assign a task and start a task process, these two actions can’t set to reassign the task form.

  • GPUpdate /force in Task Sequence as current logged on user

    Hi,
I am currently trying to "upgrade" around 800 installations of Microsoft Office Standard 2010 to Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus. To do this, I'll have to:
    1: Install Office 2010 ProPlus
    2: Uninstall Office 2010 Standard
    3: Repair Office 2010 ProPlus
Due to these steps, I've decided to make a task sequence to do the magic.
So far, so good, the "upgrade" is installing, and the MAP toolkit reports are showing the correct results from my test lab.
During the repair of Office 2010 ProPlus, the Office applications cannot
run, so I've created a task to copy a custom group policy to %systemroot%\System32\GroupPolicy to deny the affected users to start the applications.
After applying the group policies, I manually run a gpupdate /force on my test computer. The applications are not starting. Also - so far so good.
Ok, so here is my challenge:
Since the Task Sequence is running in context of the SYSTEM account, the applied group policy will not refresh the GPO's of the current logged on user. Meaning; during the installation / repair of Office 2010, the user can open all the applications regardless
of the applied GPO's, and I'd very much like to avoid that. The TS will fail otherwise. Yes, I know I can perform a restart to apply the policies, but I'd like to avoid that as well.
Any idea how can I solve this?

I think you're making it very complex for yourself. I think that the PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit would be very benificial for a situation like this. For more information have a look here:

  • Approval Task for role assignment

    Hello again,
is there any manual for approval tasks with the SAP Provisioning Framework? There is a task group called Request new business role, but if I use this, the approver approves the request, but the status of the role assignment is "in process"and never changed to "OK".
    I only found these manuals:
    - How To... Create Approval Tasks in SAP NetWeaver Identity Management
    - Implementing role approvals
But both documents didn't show an end-to-end role-request-and-approval workflow.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Matt, hello Peter,
the web-enabled task "Request New Business Role" and the including approval task are only examples.
To create own approval processes for your projects you have to understand how approval tasks and pending values work.
The following document shows the basics of PVOs (pending value objects).
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b0d6b459-3456-2b10-209e-9e78ec9fd97b?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
This is documentation of the release 7.0, which is not updated to 7.1. But basics of PVOs are still the same.
There is also a document which describes approval task for Release 7.1:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20b67ad5-c69a-2c10-9da2-9721b1cf749c?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
Also a "How-To Guide" is available:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/904deabf-73b9-2c10-e8bb-8514dc3757f2?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
I think this is enough to learn to create workflows in SAP IdM.
There is also a nice book available with detailed information:
    EN: http://www.sap-press.com/products/Understanding-SAP-NetWeaver-Identity-Management-.html
    DE: http://www.sap-press.de/2007
I think this will help you.
