Forgot to run adgrants.sql, as a part of EBS upgrade from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3

We are in phase of upgrading our application from 12.0.4 to 12.1.3. Here we have successfully upgraded to 12.1.1.
While before the next maintenance patch 9239090 (12.1.1 to 12.1.3), our DBA has forgotten to run adgrants.sql (a Pre-Req Step).
Patch is running for almost 7 hours.
Can someone please tell what will be the impact of not running adgrants.sql?? Can there be any chance taht because of the script patch will not be completed??
Please reply soon.
Thanks:

Hi Hussein,
I'm a little confused and don't know what to do.
I have two backups. Before and after installing patch R12.AD.B.DELTA.3 (patch 9239089).
Is this a good starting point:
I installed the patch R12.AD.B.DELTA.3 (patch 9239089) and everything is working fine.
Now in DOC 1080973.1 I see that I am at at step 2 now: "Use AutoPatch to apply Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3 Patch 9239090 and follow the instructions in the patch readme file."
Should I do that or do I need to run an other patch first?
Thanks in advance.

  • Clients cannot connect using afp running lion 10.7.1, worked ok before upgrade from 10.7 to 10.7.1

    I am running a macminiserver on ahome newtwork.  Original running snow leopard and then upgraded to 10.7 lion on all machine and everything was working fine.  Clients coul connected to shared drives on the server using afp.  However, after upgrading to 10.7.1 on the server and client machines, they can no lnger connect to the drives using afp, however you can connect using smb.
    I ahve tried stopping and starting the afp server, rebuilding permissions on the server - still cannot connect using afp.
    Any ideas?

    Be sure the correct Lion afp port is open on your router, even if you are using an Airport (port 548 tcp). Just do a search on "Mac OS X Lion ports".
    Also, if this is outside of the network, use the full server name in the Finder's Connect to Server, afp://server.com; when it prompts for a username, enter your first name and last name (not your short name) and then you also need to enter your password. If you don't have a fqdn, then you can use the static ip for "server.com"
    It should work, working for me inside and outside of the network. Admittedly, I don't think you need the port on the router for internal use, but you can test both ways.
    When working outside of the network a vpn is not required.

  • List of affected objects as part of SP upgrade.

    Hi,
    We are performing SP upgrade in our whole landscape.
    I am aware that as part of sp-stack queue calculation, we can generate side effect report. Also post upgrade we can generate affected objects list from SPAU.
    However is it possible to generate list of SAP objects being affected as part of SP upgrade from SP-X to SP-Y before upgrade?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Cheers !!!

    Thanks Juan for response.
    As mentioned in original query, I have already downloaded side effect report but that is having around 899 notes.:)
    so does it mean that to get the affected object list, we need to check each and every notes?
    If possible, we wanted to get the list of objects so that impact assessment could be done prior to upgrade.

  • Do we need to run catbundle.sql for ANY new db we create after CPU's?

    We're in the middle of reviewing the JAN2009CPU readme, and found a curiosity in the patch notes.
    - Our platform is Oracle 10.2.0.4 Enterprise Edition on Solaris 10 64-bit.
    In the Post-Patch instructions for the CPU, we see the following clause
    {color:#3366ff} ...
    3.3.5, "Post Installation Instructions for New and Upgraded Databases"
    These instructions are for both non-RAC environments and RAC environments
    when a database is created or upgraded after the installation of CPUJan2009.
    You must execute the steps in Section 3.3.2.1, "Loading Modified .sql Files
    into the Database"" and Section 3.3.2.2, "Recompiling Views in the Database"
    for *any new database that was created* by any of the following methods:
    - Using DBCA (Database Configuration Assistant) to select a sample database (General, Data Warehouse, Transaction Processing)
    - Using a script that was created by DBCA that creates a database from a sample database
    - Cloning a database that was created by either of the two preceding methods,
    and if Section 3.3.2.1, "Loading Modified .sql Files into the Database"
    was not executed after CPUJan2009 was applied.
    Upgraded databases require no post-installation steps to be executed.
    {color}
    I don't understand -- does this mean we have to do the following any time
    we create a new database from now on?
    - run dbca
    {color:#ff0000} - run '@?/rdbms/admin/catbundle.sql cpu apply'
    - check $ORACLE_HOME/cfttoollogs/catbundle/catbundle_CPU_<SID>_APPLY_<TimeStamp>.log for errors
    - run '@?/cpu/view_recompile/view_recompile_jan2008cpu'{color}
    I would have thought that the new SQL scripts under $ORACLE_HOME are already
    upgraded, so that we do not *have* to do any extra work on top of simply running
    dbca to create a new DB.
    I see a similar phrase in the CPU2008JUL (patch 7150470):
    {color:#0000ff} "You must execute the steps in this section (Section 3.3.2.1,
    "Loading Modified .sql Files into the Database") for any new database you create
    or any database upgraded to this release since the CPUJul2008 patch was applied."
    {color}
    .. AND CPU2008OCT (patch 7375644):
    {color:#0000ff} You must execute the steps ... for any new database you create or
    any database upgraded to this release since the CPUOct2008 patch was applied.
    {color}
    .. but the April 2008 CPU (patch 6864068) doesn't have these clauses.
    Can anybody clarify this issue? Have you created DB's after the JAN2009 CPU
    and not run the catbundle.sql, had any problems?

    Edited by: lrp on Feb 4, 2009 2:45 PMIt's pretty explicit:
    *You must execute the steps* in Section 3.3.2.1, "Loading Modified .sql Files
    into the Database"" and Section 3.3.2.2, "Recompiling Views in the Database"
    for any new database that was created <b><i><u>by any of the following methods</u></i></b>:

    - Using a script that was created by DBCA that creates a database from a sample database

    and if Section 3.3.2.1, "Loading Modified .sql Files into the Database"
    was not executed after CPUJan2009 was applied.
    So, if you create a database by any of the explicitly listed methods (all of which are creating a database from a backup that my have been made of a database that was not patched to that level) then you need to run the scripts. If you create a database by some other method (about all that is left is a command line CREATE DATABASE) then part of that creation will necessarily include running the necessary cat* scripts, which will already be at the correct level.

  • I applied adgrants.sql with 'app' instead of 'apps'

    Hi
    I am force-reapplying AD.I.7 patch 7429271.
    In the pre-steps you are to run
    $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin/adgrants.sql apps
    but I did
    $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin/adgrants.sql app
    it errored out on some of the commands (of course), complaining that there is in no apps schema called 'app'
    So I then re-ran it properly (with apps) and it completed successfully.
    I believe I am ok now. But do I need to do any cleanup of whatever it did under 'app' ? Or worse,
    do I need to restore the db and start over?
    This is a test instance where I am applying a total of 350 patches for baseline, and this is near the beginning.
    I think I am ok, just checking.

    Hi;
    SQL> @$ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin/adgrants.sql <APPS schema name>You can ignore your steps, i belive it doesnt do anything coz sh wont find apps schema name so as you mention it through error. I suggest Keep working on other patch and pass this error

  • How to run @catbundle.sql

    Hello
    we are planning to apply patch for our Oracle RDBMS 11.2.0.2(3 node RAC) on RHEl 5.6.The patch is GI PSU 11.2.0.2.7
    Now in the post-installation steps i need to run catbundle.sql script, for that do i need to shutdown the database(all instances), startup only one instance, run the script and start the database(all instances) or i can run the script from one instance with all remaining instances up and running.
    Thanks

    Hi;
    As mention here you can find how you should use catbundle.sql in patch's read me part.

    Whenever an ORA-600 error is raised a trace file is generated and an entry written to the alert.log with details of the trace file location. Starting with Oracle Database 11g Release 1, the diagnosability infrastructure was introduced which places the trace and core files into a location controlled by the DIAGNOSTIC_DEST initialization parameter when an incident, such as an ORA-600 is created. For earlier versions, the trace file will be written to either USER_DUMP_DEST (if the error was caught in a user process) or BACKGROUND_DUMP_DEST (if the error was caught in a background process like PMON or SMON). The trace file contains vital information about what led to the error condition

    Thanks for your help. As suggested I have checked the trace file to search and found the below info. I suppose it is some kind of lock but not sure about it. Please let me know if the following makes sense:

  • Msg 8631 Internal error: Server stack limit has been reached on SQL Server 2012 from T-SQL script that runs on SQL Server 2008 R2

    I have an Script mostly that is generated by SSMS which works with-out issue on SQL Server 2008, but when I attempt to run it on a new fresh install of SQL Server 2012 I get an Msg 8631. Internal error: Server stack limit has been reached. Please look for
    potentially deep nesting in your query, and try to simplify it.
    The script itself doesn't seem to be all that deep or nested.  The script is large 2600 lines and when I remove the bulk of the 2600 lines, it does run on SQL Server 2012.  I'm just really baffled why something that SQL Server generated with very
    few additions/changes AND that WORKS without issue in SQL Server 2008 R2 would suddenly be invalid in SQL Server 2012
    I need to know why my script which is working great on our current SQL Server 2008 R2 servers suddenly fails and won't run on an new SQL Server 2012 server.  This script is used to create 'bulk' Replications on a large number of DBs saving a tremendous
    amount of our time doing it the manual way.
    Below is an 'condensed' version of the script which fails.  I have removed around 2550 lines of specific sp_addarticle statements which are mostly just copy and pasted from what SQL Management Studio 'scripted' for me went I when through the Replication
    Wizard and told it to save to script.

  • Interactive report run pl/sql by clicking on link column

    Hi!
    How can I run pl/sql script by clicking on a link column of an interactive report?
    Andras

    EDIT : Oh sorry don't saw the date, I'm a little late...
    Hi,
    if you want a link for each row, an other solution is to include the link column in your query, which would be more customizable, ie :
    select
    COLUMN1,
    COLUMN2,
    '<ahref="f?p=&APP_ID.:6:&APP_SESSION.::NO::" onclick="your_function('||YOUR_ID_COLUMN||');return false;">link or picture</a>' as "link",
    COLUMN3;
    from
    ...As you see, you will have to include the ID (primary key) column to your report ("hidden") to identify the row clicked when calling your function.
    If you want to use the Link Column property in the report attributes, you will have to call you js function in the "URL" field like that :
    javascript:your_function('#YOUR_ID_COLUMN#');

  • How to run a sql query from a button in apex 3.0

    Hi,
    I am brand new and went through/installed the obe project tracker. I have need to create a simple application that displays a result (2 fields, name and license number) based on two parameters (dob and login id) which all are stored in 1 table in the database. I could this very simply in VB or VB.net but have no idea how to do it in apex.
    Please provide guidance,
    Thank you,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,
    Sounds like a report region will satisfy your requirements.
    Create a new report region on one of your pages.
    Choose SQL Report and give the region a title.
    When you get to the "Enter SQL Query or PL/SQL function returning a SQL Query:" step, type:
    SELECT name, license_number
    FROM   <insert_your_table_name_here>
    WHERE  dob = :P<n>_dob
    AND    login_id = :P<n>loginid(replace <n> with the page number that the region is on and use your own table name).
    Don't try to run the page yet - it will give 'No data found'
    Now, go back to the Page Definition screen and add two items in the region you just created - call them P<n>dob and P<n>login_id
    Then, create a button in the same region (to be displayed amongst the region's items) - call it P<n>_GO and click 'Create' (take all the other defaults).
    Now you can run the page, put some values into the fields and click go.
    If you want to get fancier, you can change the text items to select lists etc. - let us know if you need help with that.
    Hope this helps,
    Bryan.
