Form Builder missing feature
In the Form Builder of the Adobe Acrobat v.9.3.3 I did not find any possibility to import data list (eg. from xls) into the drop down list box component. The list of the selectable elements can be added in the properties box one by one which is extremely inconveniance when there are appr. 100 list elemts.
Is there any way to do it?

What am I missing with Form builder ?

I am new to Form builder and to developing web applications. I am trying to use Form Builder to create a form that will read records from my Ora DB. Just for testing the tool. I get to run the form and see it on my browser but no record is shown unless I execute a query (which should be all records in the column). Even then I need to use the next and previous arrow (in top of the form)in order to see the records. My item is a column name from the DB and is represented as a Combo Box which I want it to give me all records when I click the combo box down-arrow.
What am I missing? Do I need to create a select query somewhere on the item?

cipMaybe you should familiarise yourself with how Forms works before leaping in to the complicated stuff. Build a module with one tabular base table block using the Data Block Wizard and the Layout Wizard. Give it a WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger that does
execute_query;When you've got that working, change the trigger to
enter_query;Now your Form starts in QUERY mode and you can use Query By Example to selectively retrieve data.

Missing permissions to delete temporary files in xml forms builder
Hi,
we have the following problem:
A user with role content manager is using the xml forms builder. Every time, he is saving or generating a project, a error message comes up, telling him, that some files *.xml.xlb.___save_file could not be deleted. Those are temporary files which are created during editing (I guess?!).
As recommended by SAP, the content manager only has read/write permission on the used KM-folder. If the user has the role (NOT group!) Administrator, everything works just fine. The same is true when the permissions are added manually. Is this the only way to solve the problem or am I missing some configuration?

Hope you found a solution in the meantime for this permission issue. Hence I just give a very general comment on this. Generally such content admins are supposed to be System Principals in CM by role assignment.
By this concept and default delivery on this it is assured that users having access to administrative iViews by role assignment does also have relevant permissions. See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/19/56f28fbd4e11d5993b00508b6b8b11/frameset.htm.
Whenever having custom specific roles this System Principal concept should be part of the design.

Where are the many missing features in Numbers found?
The more that I use Numbers the less likely that I will ever go through the motions of trying to get Numbers to do enough of the things that have to be done in order for my income tax program to work. Like in another post I have some of my smaller tax forms to say that they are too big to be imported. There seems to be too many missing features to do a useful job.
This leaves trying to use Numbers to handle new small, small, small spreadsheets. At the present times I have little problem setting up a format for a cell providing the formatting is available. In Excel the easiest way to copy a format to a new cell is to use format painter. Many time copy/paste will work. But copy/paste will move the formula also. I have not been able to find a way to do this with Numbers.
So far the sliders feature is the one feature that interests me enough to try to use Numbers in the real work handling portion of my business. Many things I want to do either I can't find out how to do them or there are too many added keystrokes needed compared to Excel to make me want to do a spreadsheet in Numbers.
Since the majority of my spreadsheets do not use a header row or header column I have to get that turned off. Tax sheets have a lot of blank spaces to start things out & normally will be different than the next sheet.
I used a lot of cell/range names as well as individual cells. I use 450+ cell names in my main Form 1040, A,B,D,NE,IA page. That still leaves me needing to know the row/column designation most of the time. I cannot find where that information is displayed in Numbers.
I keep looking, but generally do not find the needed feature that I need. Many like the cell designation is so basic. Being able to use the arrow keys to move to a cell for inclusion in a formula is another one that I am unable to do. Using the help files do not come close to answering any question that I have with Numbers. Where is the Numbers, "Missing Manual?" I need what I don't have & may not be made at the current time.
Like Pages 1.0, Numbers 1.0 doesn’t seem ready for prime time use. There are too many missing features be a very complete spreadsheet. Some I probably can’t find, some probably are not there.
I need help.

Forms builder layout questions
Hi guys
I have three questions on forms builder:
1. Is there a way to evenly space records? I see all the allign features but not arrange evenly. It really takes a lot of time to space 10 fields evenly vertically
2. Is it possible to have a fram with an auto tabular layout that is vertical instead of horizontal? What's the use of being able to adjust the block but the form is always vertical when you use tabular format?
3. Is there a way to have the layout autogenerate again? I can see it works when I move a frame in a simple canvas, but I use the same datablock across multiple tabs. If I assign the block in the frame, then it will autoload all items into my single tab.

I guess what I'm suferring with is the 'old school' forms developer. I'm on 6i. Is there any better layout features in later releases? Maybe any other tools to generate a form? (I'm pushing my luck now :-) )

Ok I found the menu now: Arrange-> Allign objects. And then there's DISTRIBUTE for both vertical and horizontal.

Question 2:
- I have my Data Block's Record Orientation set to Horizontal. But the Frame completely ignores it. The Frame's Layout style is Tabular. So when I UPDATE LAYOUT to auto-layout my page there is no different if I toggle the Record orientation between horizontal and vertical.
Question 3: Ok, it seems like UPDATE LAYOUT will autogenerate the layout only if you have the frame linked to a datablock. My problem is this: I have 3 tabs (too many fields for a singe tab). I'm still deciding which fields should go to wich tab. Every time I add an item to a new tab, I have to manually position it within that tab. I cannot make they program quickly auto-layout the tab with the additional item.
Missing features:

I have several questions to the XML-Forms-Builder (XML-FB):
1)
I am searching for a really complete documentation of the XML-FB. I know the "how to create xml forms - PDF", the "help.sap.com", this forum,...., but i don't find one complete documentation. For example i miss the description of really all controls AND whose properties.
2)
Can I await any changing/enhancement between NW 2004 SP16 (my active Release) and NW 2004s SPx - with focus to the XML-FB?
3)
Is it possible to create forms witch allows <u>the author</u> to choose the placement of controls - for example images in the left, right, middle of the page - maybe via select/assign the corresponding form (-> maybe via using control-selector)? This means more individual flexibility for the author.
I am searching for a solution without programming a proprietary solution, only customizing !

1.) There is no. Some features have been added more or less silently within the last year, but a central doc hasn't been published.
2.) All I know is: Not much. Maybe the Forms Builder developer at SAP reads this and could throw a somewhat more detailed answer.
3.) We have developed this as a small part of easyWCM; when creating the XML form, you can define not only 1 ShowForm, but different; the author then can choose which form to use. We provide such pre-defined forms within the BP.

Forms Builder - form not pulling the data from the DB into the datablock
I'm working on a school project, and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if something is wrong with my setup.
I created a basic form, 3 fields, and ID, firstname and lastname
the wizard connected fine, pulled the three fields into forms builder
I setup a canvas - type content with the a form format layout of the three fields.
saved the form.
When I run the form and it's displayed, nothing gets pulled into the fields (all blank).
Shouldn't it pull at least the first row from the table?
it says it's on record 1/1
XP, Oracle 10g, Form builder 10.1.2,

I want to get this basic form working first, before I start adding to it, and it doesn't seem to want to cooperate.
I've done the same steps as in the tutorials....I did find that, if I put data in the ID, first and lastname on the form, and click Execute & Save on the Menu, it does add it to the database.
Maybe what I'm missing, is how do I get the form to read from the database when it starts up? -
Error while opening Adobe Form Builder
Hi all,
I am trying to open an existing form in Adobe Form builder (TA SFP).
When ever I display a standard form say FP_TEST_01 and go to the layout tab, I get an error saying <i><b>Error occurred in communication with layout editor</b></i>. I am using ECC 5.0 system.
Am I missing any configurations?
We have all the required configurations set as mentioned in Configuration guide. (Required for ABAP stack).

Missing features in Audition CS5.5
Ok, I have been playing around intensively with Audition CS5.5 for a few weeks now. Aside from the thing that SES to SESX import did not work natively (thanks Todd, for giving me the link, although I do think that it should have been included in the software in the first place), there are some other things that bug me.
Here's my top 4 (in order of personal importance):
1. GROUP CLIPS
This feature is missing. If you're working on a mix, you need to be able to move parts quickly, not risking screwing up parts that are OK. Manually selecting all clips and then moving them is timewise not very efficient. IMHO, we really shouldn't have to wait until CS6 for this feature to return...
2. LAYOUT
I keep hitting the vertical zoom sign whenever I want to zoom in horizontally. I use horizontal zooming much more than vertical. Of course you can use the + or - signs on the keyboard, but I find myself hitting the on-screen button time and again. In Au 3 they were in the "correct" position. And there's no way of adjusting the workspace so that I can place the buttons where I like them to be. I am so used to this on-screen layout, that I think it will take a long time to adjust to this.
3. CLIP TIME STRETCH
You can't drag clips to stretch them to a desired length. You do have an improved dialog for Strecth and Pitch (which I like), but you can't do it visually on the timeline.
4. PRE-LISTEN TRACKS
I Au 3 you could quickly sort through multiple effect tracks by pre-listening them using Auto-play in the import dialog to find that right type of swoosh you need from your sound collection. Now you can't, or you have to rely on Adobe Bridge.
I know that the Adobe Bug Report / Feature Request form is the best way to submit these (and I frequently use that), but I'm also curious if other sound editors deal with the same problems.I believe no one has responded to the original post because all of these topics have been discussed in other threads since Audition CS 5.5 was released. We absolutely appreciate knowing which missing features are most important to our users so that we can place priority toward implementing them. While I can't divulge what features will be in Audition CS 6 at this time, I think it's safe to say that most of these requests will be satisfied.
Regarding the layout of the Zoom buttons, it is possible to display these buttons both within the standard Editor panel (the default view) and as a separate panel which can be positioned as you like. Click Window > Zoom in the menu bar to open this panel. -
Ok, some are repeats:
PivotTables and Grouping.
Although I'm no scientist or engineer, missing those two key features is frustrating.
Another thing I find missing is summaries within the graphs themselves. And especially auto-update. Right now to get that to work I can drag my series to include the footer, but then it includes the footers value into my chart. In Excel, the tables know when you've added an additional row and adds that to the chart. I mostly use trend graphs, so having to go back to each chart and update the selection is very tedious. Or having the Sum value at the end throw off the averages I'm trying to trend. Nothing like having a bunch of values around 2-3 or 20-30 over an average and then a huge 10k number at the end to make the rest unreadable.
While I may just be missing how to do this, but I don't see any easy way of bringing data in from another workbook.
I know this one is a little silly, but clipart. I love the idea of iPhoto integration (and Aperature) it's only a shame I use LightRoom but at the same time, I'm a photographer, so why would I have little silly clipart's in my DAM system? It would be nice to have a clipart gallery that's separate from iPhoto that can be accessed through all the iWork programs.
Another thing, Data Validation. Either in the form of verifying data is within a certain range or doesn't exceed a set amount, to creating lists.
Oh, and a Divide function. Why can't this ever be easy? lol I know you can just us / but they have a Quotient function, but it only rounds to whole numbers and then MOD which does the remainder, why not just a simple function for both?
And password protection.
Yes, I know it's just a 1.0.0 release, and I think it's pretty good for a start, but I do think it's a little premature and hopefully not going to follow the XBox trap of ruining itself before it's supposed to be released. However, the same things happened with Aperature and Apple was quick to address many of those issues. So here's to ditching Office for good . . . just not yet.Since I don't know how to edit my own posts . . .
Another missing feature, automatically filling in formulas when a new row is created. For instance, say you have 3 columns, 1 + 2 = 3. In Office 2004, when I add a new row, that formula is automatically inserted. It's just one of those nice little time saving features that would be nice. -
Attachments in XML Form Builder

I have created a XML Forms Builder Project.
News Author will create News using this form and attach Documents to the news.
for ataching document I am using a Schema Element with datatype set as rid .
from this element i created a Browser control .
At run time , i am able to select files from KM using the browser control.
But while Viewing the News when i click on the Hyperlink for that control
it opens up the same news again .. (its referencing self instead of the document)
What property setting i am missing ?
what is the correct way to attach documents and view them using a project created by XML Forms Builder ?

Problem with dynamic query in Forms Builder
Hi,
I need in forms builder cursor in procedure which parameter is a whole query. But i stuck when i wanna give some text in signs '' to procedure.
I wanna give like test('select ' ||'test' || ' from dual');
But this is not good beacuse it is missing ''.
Query which procedure get is select test from dual.
The right sql would be select 'test' from dual.
How could i pass signs '' to procedure.
Any ideas.

Error 906 message not found on compiling form in forms builder
When compiling a form in forms builder 6i I get the message: error 906: message not found. No message file for product=plsql80 facility=PCM
What should I do?Is your PLSQL80 environment variable set? - Should point to the PLSQL80 directory as well.
If this is the only missing error that you have I wouldn't worry about it. 906 just means that PL/SQL could not compile the program unit. -
Acrobat X Pro is missing features
After recently re-install my X Pro, it appears to be missing features...
I don't have the option to extract pages,
I can no longer copy and paste comments within a document,
and when I print to pdf the hyperlinks are not active.
Any suggestions to fix would be appreciated.

Thank You for posting on the forums. Here are the answers to your questions.
1) I don't have the option to extract pages > You can find Extract pages under Tools>Pages
2) I can no longer copy and paste comments within a document > You need to select the comment first and when it is highlighted with a blue line> Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V.
3) when I print to pdf the hyperlinks are not active> Printing to PDF would remove the hyperlink, that is a designed behavior, you need to convert the file to pdf using pdf maker or file>create pdf form file.
