Form that will submit email and go to thank you page

I have a form that I can successfully send as an email. When I send the email I also want to send them to a thank you page. I've tried
onsubmit="location.href='.../thanks.html';" but that isn't working. I don't want to post this form to a database.
Any ideas? I don't know php, am using html and asp pages. http://www.evergreen-implement.com/Evergreen-Mailing_List.asp

You can't if you are using mailto as your form action. You need your form to be processed by a server side form mail script. That script will process the form, email it, and then redirect to your thank you page. Check with your host to see if they have an ASP form script available. Never use mailto to email forms - it is unreliable and will fail most of the time.

Best way to create a form that can be emailed and also secured down.

I work in a manufacturing company that tests each raw material as it comes in the door. The results from the tests are currently handwritten on a template form that is printed first. The sheets are then sent to another department who types up the results and saves them individually as a Word document. There is a HUGE paper trail and increased margin for error. Not to mention the sheer time!
I am trying to streamline the process is a little by creating a PDF form in which the results can be entered and the form emailed to the other department. I know how to create the form and add a "submit" button which opens up the Outlook client. However, I want to make sure the form cannot be saved by the lab personnel, instead I want to give them the abilty to enter the data and email.Thisis an interim solution until a proper lab management system can be put into place.
What is the best practice around something like this? Any other suggestions or tips will be appreciated.

I was able to create the PDF page and activate links to pages in the full PDF document. But when I test-email both files to myself, the links do not work.

You have created links between two PDFs while they were regular disk-based files (I assume using the 'open a file' link action). When they're both attachments to an email message they are no longer in any meaningful 'location'. Some mail clients will extract all the attachments in a message into a temporary cache folder, so they do end up being able to see one another; but others will open each attachment on demand and prevent them from accessing anything else. Attachments are a huge security risk and sandboxing them is always best practice - the result of which is that lots of PDF functions just don't work.

You can set up a button with a "Submit a form" action and use a mailto type URL to specify the email address you want the forms sent do. If you want to send the entire PDF, select that option and not FDF or anything else. The mailto URL should not include any spaces and the "mailto" part should be lowercase, like:
mailto:[email protected]
This will attempt to initiate an email using the users default email client. If the user does not have one set up or there is some other problem, the email might not get initiated. If it needs to work with Reader versions prior to 11, then the form needs to be Reader-enabled, which you do in Acrobat 11 by selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools

You would need to first create the form ( or Widget in EchoSign) first to generate a url which you can paste it in the email being sent to customers. You would need to make sure you have a Document Cloud Enterprise Premium account in order to create a Widget. If you don't have the account, you can use the trial version to test it. Not in Pages, except to create the basic form itself.
The best method is create a pdf form, using Acrobat Pro to fill in the data fields of the form.
The students can use the free Acrobat Reader to fill in the fields, which you can have sent electronically back to you or whatever database you want, or as a simple dumb form that accepts their typing.
To have a quiz style multiple choice document, that even corrects and sums up results use iBooks [free], very similar to Pages, or a dedicated application for this style of work.

Now I see that FormsCentral is going away and I can't get my doc to save as a PDF without an upgrade? Help

You should be able to log into the online Formscentral Acrobat XI air app and see your doc there. From there you would need to save it out as a PDF without a submit button to have it continue to work past July. If you don't see your online form(s) please let me know the adobeID you use to log into the service as well as the form name that is missing and I will look into it for you.

Not really. But you can combine the data from multiple forms into a single (new) spreadsheet via Tools - Forms - More Form Options - Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet...

The formulas shown in my previous post assume a table arranged like the example below:
The results in the bottom three rows (Apr, May and Jun) are correct for the simple formulas given and for the data entered in the Amount column as the empty cells are evaluated as containing zero. In practice, you would want a formula that suppressed the calculation until something was entered in that row of the Amount column. That's easy enough to add, should you think doing so will be useful.
But it won't make Numbers read your mind.

My phone is not jailbroken. I don't know what you mean about hacked. Maybe it is hacked? This is what is happening: About three times over the past few months I've noticed that my phone while "off" will come on (light up) and the screen shows an arrow towards the bottom; an arrow such that you would see on various "players" in order to "play" video or audio, I've searched my phone and cannot find any app that produces this particular screen though. Once I pick up the phone when this screen myseriously appears out of nowhere and press anything, it goes away and goes to the standard "slider" front page to unlock the phone.

While listening to a podcast on my iPhone I can e-mail the podcast ID. The email contains the url for the specific podcast. So you would assume that you could put that url into iTunes and it would take you to the podcast. This used to work but no longer.
