Format column for currency

How do you format a column to display currencies ?
$3, 524.32 instead of just 3524.32
The matrix column is bound to a DataTable

Hello
What you can do is to build up the Currency sign into your query when you load the datatable. Otherwise the system will not show the Currency symbol.

How can I format a column (or row) to contain phone numbers (1-123-456-7890)
    or social security numbers (123-45-6789)?

Try - Cells Inspector > Cell Format > Custom.
This was a quickie try with no extensive testing, so I bet you could do better. This format will take a 10-digit number and format it as shown.

  • WPF - Format DataGrid column as currency - WPF

    Hi,
I have a WPF DataGrid that is populated with data from an access database.
What I want to do is format all cells in a certain column to the currency format (2 decimal places {0:C} i think)
In the access database the format is set to currency and it doesn't  show up in the database
Also, is there a way to specify Australian currency so that it rounds to the nearest 5 cents and has 2 decimal places.
I used this to format the Date and time correctly but I am unsure how to format for currency:
private void DgvInventoryData_OnAutoGeneratingColumn(object sender, DataGridAutoGeneratingColumnEventArgs e)
    if (e.PropertyType == typeof (DateTime))
    ((DataGridTextColumn) e.Column).Binding.StringFormat = "dd/MM/yyyy";
Thanks for all the help in advance...

    Hi,
Thanks for the answer but the Data in the DataGrid is not from Data Binding it is from an access database using SQL queries and OleDb stuff.
I am looking for a solution that is in the C# code because I want the user to be able to change the formatting at their leisure.
So i don't really know how to do the xaml stuff, mainly the C# code

  • Output Format for Currency

    Hi There,
I have set defaults as '1,000.00' for currency output in the own data but in the output of report it is showing like '1.000,00'.
PS: there is no formating statement in the program as well.
Any advice friends, how can I make it in required format.
    Regards,

    HI ali ,
yeah u can do thi sin scripts ..
take a look at this ..
Country-Dependent Formatting: SET COUNTRY The formatting for certain field types depends on the country settings. These field types include, for example, date fields and number fields that include either a decimal point or the ‘thousands’ separator character. The formatting options defined in the user master record are usually the ones used here. To choose a formatting option other than the one specified in the user master record, use the SET COUNTRY control command. The country-dependent formatting options are stored in the T005X table. Syntax: /: SET COUNTRY country_key You can enter the country key either as a literal value enclosed in quotes or as a symbol.
/: SET COUNTRY 'CAN' /: SET COUNTRY &country_key& Use a blank country name to revert to the setting found in the user master record: /: SET COUNTRY ' ' This SAPscript command actually calls the corresponding ABAP command internally. This guarantees the effect of the SAPscript command to be identical with that of the ABAP command

  • Can you specify format mask for date or timestamp columns

    Hi,
Recently when I'm developing a PL/SQL application, I find that any format mismatch between data in table and format mask specified in to_date/to_timestamp function will cause exceptions. However, I'd like to make my application more robust and immune to this kind of problems, and know exactly which format mask to use for exactly what columns in db table.
Is there a way in a table column to specify the format mask for date/timestamp columns such that I can know exactly what format mask to use when doing conversion? Also I don't want to depend on NLS_DATE_FORMAT specification, don't want to make a long case statement to check for every date format allowed by Oracle.
    Many thanks.

As per my knowledge it can't be possible
casuse if you entered '12/11/2007' date
how oracle know that in date 12'th is the month or 11'th.
The person who entered that date will also have confusions in future.
either you have to fix one date format for your whole application (application configuration).
or you have to store the date format in other column of the table.
In case you set the date column to varchar and store all the dates without format then
in future you may face problems in future while fetching the records, searching etc.

  • Different format template for each amount column?

    Greetings.
Is it possible to assign diffrent format template for each amount column in Excel workbooks?
I'll explain a bit more specific.
Suppose there's a BW report to Excel as below.
          column1   column2   column3
    row1 111,111   222,222   333,333
    row2 111,111   222,222   333,333
    row3 111,111   222,222   333,333
All columns are amounts, so the assigned format templates are all 'SAPBEXstdData'.  Here, the needs is that each column have the format of their own, such as 'Centered, large font size, bold, red color, etc'.
I found out in SAP help portal that I can create workbook templates which include custom format templates, such as OurColumn1Template.  I also found I can use the workbook templates when opening BW queries.  But it doesn't seem possible to automatically specify format template OurColumn1Template is for column1 when creating a new Excel report from BW query or refreshing a query from a Excel report.
How I can control which format template is assigned for which column? No way?
By the way, we are on BW3.5.
    Thank you,
    T.Yamagiwa

Oh my, I found out! It's easy, in a sense.
We use MS Office 2003, so in the first place we need to change security setting about macro, by the SAP note below.
Note 574596 - BEXAnalyzer SAPBEXOnRefresh is missing on Office XP
    https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=574596&_NLANG=E
Now that we've got SAPBEXOnRefresh module in a newly created Excel workbook, the rest we need to do is copy the SAPBEXOnRefresh module to the existing workbook, then code the module, like below.  (this is only doing left-justification)
Sub SAPBEXonRefresh(queryID As String, resultArea As Range)
        Columns("I:I").Select
        With Selection
            .HorizontalAlignment = xlLeft
        End With
    End Sub
I should have search the forum more carefully...hope somebody will find this post kind of useful in the future.

  • Can I print out the document formatting information for review

Is there a way to print out, for example, all the paragraph format with their formatting details? I'd like the same for character formats, conditional text etc.?
I'm a long time FrameMaker use and have built numerous templates over the years. The one thing I always found missing was the ability to printout a list of the various formats so that you can review them (much more easily one at a time on screen) to make sure they all have the correct settings. MS Word, back in the DOS days, had this capability and it was fast and efficient way of double checking all the formatting.
Does this functionality exist in FrameMaker? Or are there any utilities out there that would do this?
    Thanks,
    Inge

The Format List utility from Squidds does this really well. It creates
tables that contain the various formats and their settings. It's really
easy to look down a column and see which paragraph or character formats
use, for example, a particular font or space above setting. Format List
is one of the Finalyser utilities.
The Squidds website is notoriously user unfriendly, but here is a link
for the price lists page. If you can find the right list for your
FrameMaker version, it will give you prices for the complete Finalyser
or Toolbox utility set, and prices for the individual utilities. I
believe Format List is $49 USD.
    http://www.squidds.de/en/products/price-lists-order-form.html#c321
It seems like someone else makes a utility that creates a separate
one-column table for each format. I can't seem to find that one. Perhaps
someone else remembers what it is. Separate tables are not nearly as
easy to use for comparison, though.

My requirement is .I have to display o/p like this
Material || Year || Period  ||  Mix ratio || Vendor ||Mix Ratio || Vendor || Mix Ratio Vendor || Mix ratio || Vendor || Mix ratio.............................from table's CKMLMV003 and CKMLMV001.Her i have to display the o/p in the above format and i have to display Vendor and Mix Ratio for 5 columns irrespective of data .If i have more than 5 columns for any record then i have to create a New columns dynamically for Vendor and Mix ratio. If anybody want my code i can Submit But plz tell with example how to do?
<b>The O/P must be finally shown in ALV Grid</b>
    Thanks,

You must create the entire internal table dynamically, you can not add columns to a statically define internal table.  Here is an example of creating a dynamic internal table.

  • Create a Formatted report for a single record

I am trying to create a report for a single record in a document format instead of row and column format
For example to list a custome information with list of orders.
    CustomerID ---------------------        Name ------------------------------------
    Address 1 ----------------------         Address 2 ------------------------------
    City --------------------------------        State -------------------------------------
    Zip ---------------------------------
    Order List
    Order 1            Qty          Total Cost
    Order 2            Qty          Total Cost
We dont have crystal reports setup yet.  I am trying to use report designer...but it is not allowing me to do it.  It creates different group for each row in the query.   Can any one suggest how to do it using report designer or another way in BI 7.0 to create this kind of document.   I want to be able to print this document as pdf or other types.
    Any help is greatly appreciated..
    Thanks

you can do this both in a formatted report or bex, depending on what kind of an outcome that you are looking for.
basically, you are first going to present the data in a tabular format and then move the cells around, so the next time you execute the report (analyzer or report designer) it will stay in that format.
if you are doing it in report designer, first create a query that pulls all required data points and gives them to you in an output as a table.  Then, add that query as a data provider for the formatted report, and you can create additional cells and move the key figures around.  Report designer is a little crude for formatting, but it works
if you are doing this in BEx Analyzer, then you can do the same thing: create a query and then use the BExGetData formula to pull the required data into required cells
if you are looking for HIGHLY formatted report (for example you want the output to come out on forms, etc), then you would need to use the Crystal Reports.
Regardless of what you use for the presentation of the data, the data generation is controlled by the Query itself.  This is one of the tools that SAP is not planning to take away: all the future presentation options will use the query as the data source.
    good luck

  • Mysterious formatting columns table

    Hi all,
i don't post a problem, but a curiosity. I'm managing a Oracle BI environment developed by others, so many aspects are unknown for me. I've observed that if i make an Answers request dragging and dropping any columns from my subject area, any of them are still formatted. In detail, if i drag and drop a column that contains double values it is formatted, otherwise if (from same table) i drag and drop a column that contains integer values it isn't formatted. All columns have same class "TableHdg".
I ask me, where is specified this behaviour? In css style? But how a css style can distinguish between a double and integer values to decide how formatting columns?

    Hi,
thanks for your reply. I've formatted hundreds of tables but i've never noted these options. Incredible!!!!!!!!!. Can you tell me, when i click on "Save as the system-wide for this data type" (for example), where Oracle BI saves formatting options? In a css file? What?

  • Error Message for currency (0Currency) during activation of DSO

    Hi guys,
data which is transfered from datasource to dso contains an value " * " for currency which is unknown for some key figures.
During the activation of the data in DSO an error is appearing: No SID for value " * " of characteristic 0Currency found.
Is there some solution for that error available?
I checked the values for currency which are stored in 0Currency master data. There is one value for empty currency.
I thought one solution is to remove the " * " currency in ERP, then the currency will not have the " * " value and no error would appear in BW.
The other is to create a new InfoObject for currency and add the value " * " in master data. Then with the assignment of the new currency InfoObject also an error should not appear.
    Any ideas about that?
Thank you in advance for answering!

I think this has nothing to do with TCURR because there is the currency conversion maintained. And for SPRO i don´t have authorization and I think that an currency with * would not make sense to enter it via SPRO as a currency code.
