Format Dates in Chart to List Months not Days?

I have a CF Report that I has a Subform Chart with the
following SQL:
SELECT ticketDate, Count(tickets.ticketDate) as CountTickets
FROM tickets
WHERE (ticketType LIKE 'TS%')
GROUP BY ticketDate;
On my Line Chart, I have the Dates going across the bottom
from L to R.
How do adjust my SQL above so it combines the Dates to list
in months instead of each day?
And format them to Jan-07, Feb-07, Mar-07, etc..?

In case anyone else comes across this problem:
1) After making the changes right-click the chart in Analyzer and select "Apply changes to all charts"
2) Right-click the chart again and select "Save as template"

So you want users to be able to see the name of the table, but not the definition? I am afraid that this is not possible. You can give users access to a table and hide the definition, but the name is considered part of the definition.
Olaf mentioned VIEW DEFINITION. What he did not say is that when you have SELECT permission (or EXECUTE permission on a stored procedure), the permission VIEW DEFINITION is implied by the stronger permission. For this reason you need to explicitly DENY this
permission as shown in the script below.
In the script I create a user without a login and then impersonate a user. This is an excellent way to test permissions.

i need one function module for finding difference between 2 dates and the output is
no. of years
no.of months
no. of days.
it means the input is begin date and end date
output is no.of years,no.of months and no.of days.
for example begin date is today i.e., 08/02/2008 (dd/mm/yyyy) and end date is 07/03/2008 then the output is
no.of years -
0,
no.of months----
1,
no.of days----
0.
and one more example if begin date 08/02/2008
(dd/mm/yyyy) and end date is 01/02/2008 then the output is
no.of years -
0,
no.of months----
0,
no.of days----
-7..

Also You can write your own function module for this..
just extract day and month and year from the two dates and then get the difference.
suppose date 1 - y1m1d1
date 2 = y2m2d2
data : y1(2) type n,
m1(2) type n,
d1(2) type n,
y2(2) type n,
m2(2) type n,
d2(2) type n,
y1 = date1(4).
m1 = date1+4(2).
d1 = date1+6(2).
y2 = date2(4).
m2 = date2+4(2).
d2 = date2+6(2).
then get the differnce between years and days and months and store them in ur variables

Acrobat Pro XI transposes numbers for month and day in dates when saving optimized pdf to Excel spreadsheet.

Using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and Excel 14.3.8 on a mac.
Saved PDF as "optimized PDF" then "save as other" > spreadsheet > Microsoft Excel Workbook.
Problem: numbers in some random dates are transposed so that month and day are reversed. No particular pattern to these errors. Only fix we've found is to go through and manually check and correct the date errors - there are hundreds of these errors in the document so this is not a good solution.
(Note: Excel columns with dates are specified as "date" fields. All dates are formatted as m/d/yy)
Any ideas what's causing this problem problem and how to fix it?

Label and legend problem in grouped month data pie chart for Crystal XI

Hi all, I have a problem with a pie chart I created based upon monthly figures that were grouped. The data type is DateTime but I have modified the report to show the date as January 2007, February 2007 etc. etc. This is all fine and appropriate as it is based on a gouping of all the data into months. However, when I chart the same data the labels and legend do not reflect this formatting. Instead they show up as 01/2007, 02/2007 etc. etc. I have searched the forums, but was unable to find any one else who has had the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've still been trying to get this to work or at least figure out what I'm doig wrong, but so far I haven't had any luck, so I'm hoping someone can help me.

Chart X Axis Monthly Dates

I am using Crystal Reports XI R2 and am having problems with setting up a chart that contains up to one year's worth of daily data, with potentially missing days. The chart needs to have a label once per month.
When the X axis is set up as a date, Crystal only shows 5 labels, roughly once every 2-3 months.
When set up as a string, it shows every single day which ends up looking like a black line.
Bringing in data only once per month is not an option as the chart needs to represent fluctuation throughout each month.
I saw on these forums a method that involved creating a formula field that returns a value only when I want (such as the first of the month) and a blank string on every other time, but for some reason that won't work either. The chart misses several months in a seemingly random fashion even though the data is good (it displays only Jan, April, May, Sept and Oct, all in their correct positions).
So basically I need a label for every month of daily data but can't seem to get Crystal to cooperate.
Any help would be appreciated.

You can retain both the datetime and time field so that your group by date option doesnt get effected.
When it comes to display..To have only time value in the X axis heading as well as Scale labels. Please follow the following steps.
1. Heading: Pivot table View : Axis titles and labels : Change the title
2. Scale Labels: Pivot table View : Axis titles and labels : Labels : Format : Truncate : 6.
By Truncating the labels. You may get two dots in the end of each label. But hope this may help you.

Date Format in SAP chart customizing - Gantt

I have problems with date format in Gantt chart coding in

when i am customizing the xml from chart designer.
I want Time(X) axis in Days but its showing in quarters or weeks.
I also tried with LineFormat but i could not get control over it.

Date format wrong in 'To Do Lists' in UK format

All my preferences are set to UK format date dd/mm/yyyy. However, the To Do List does not accept this format. i.e. 31/08/2010 is not accepted and 01/09/2010 is listed as 9th January 2010.
Any solutions out there, help much appreciated.

Function Modules for Format Date, Month Name and Quarter value.

1. I am getting the date field from the Flatfile, so i need to format the date to YYYYMMDD. Is there any Function module for that in BW.
2. Based on the above Formated Date i have to find out the Name of the Month like JANUARY, FEBUARY etc.
3. Based on the same above Formated Date i need to find out the Quarter like 1, 2 etc.
Could you please let me know if any function modules are there for the above questions in BW not in ABAP, why i mention is some Function modules are there in ABAP but not in BW.

Hi ,
1.If your input date format is MMDDYYYY then Use SDATE as conversion routine in trans strucutre to convert into YYYYMMDD.
2.By passing year as input parameter for the following FM you would get all the months with text.Using READ statement in routine you can get month name
MONTH_NAMES_GET
3.For Quarters you can use the following FM:
TSTR_PERIODS_QUARTERS

Since your date is not in canonical format, you cant format dates directly.
You need to get it done with workarounds.
Try using
<?xdoxslt:month_name(substring(DATE,1,2), 0, $_XDOLOCALE)?> <? substring(DATE,4,2)?>, <? substring(DATE,7,4)?>
Here I assume your date comes in the format MM/DD/YYYY

Formatting data series in charts

Hello all,
Need help in how to format data series used in charts(pie and bar). The charts show proper data but i need the amounts in the charts to be formatted using comma separators and $ symbol. Had tried using the NSTR functions and these work properly for table data , but not for charts. Could someone pls conform if this is a known limitation with charts or is this yet another issue with ehp1 ? If so , are there any other alternatives for this approach.
Vc version is 7.01 SP5 (ehp1)

we modified the line width and a few other things. You'll have to modify all the pcxml files for all the chart types you want to customize.

BCS Business Data List data HTML Formatting data

I have a Business Data List webpart in Sharepoint Online (2013) which pulls data from a BCS List. This data contains HTML which is not rendering as HTML but the HTML text.
I've modified the data to HTML format the data, no joy (example: < img src="/)
I've modified the data to spit out the native html, no joy (example: <img src="/)
I've modified the XSLT of the webpart using the Data View Properties (when editing the webpart in Sharepoint) to output the text from the list as below, which didn't work:
<xsl:value-of select="@ArticleBody" disable-output-escaping="yes" ddwrt:nbsp-preserve="yes"/>
and also this hasn't worked:
<xsl:value-of select="@ArticleBody" disable-output-escaping="yes"/>
I'm now at a loss as to how I can get the data to show with the html text being rendered as actual HTML on page

found, the issue - there was a section further down the XSLT file that needed the disable-output-escaping adding to (below is the original section) - once updated it worked like a charm - thanks

I don't get clearly, but mean here your sales order doesn't exist in your cube or ODs in BW.
If so check the delta load has been done or not.
Before that check in tables VBAK (Header data) and VBAP (Item data) , wheather your sales order exists.

Format Date function not working correctly

I am using the following code to display a system date:
<?xdofx:sysdate('DD-Month-YYYY')?>
However the date always appears as:
18-March -2011 (with space after 'March')
rather than
18-March-2011 (no space after the month)
Can anyone tell me how to get the date to display without the space after the month?

I have the same problem; used Migration Assistant to transfer all my pix from PC to MacbookPro, however dates of pix were not transferred. Date created as the date of transfer. Cannot sort my pix according to date.
