  • Default Header/Footer elements

Just as the Page Layout has a default for new documents, so
should Headers and Footers have a default selection of the field
elements that appear in the insert dialog (e.g. Page Number,
Document Name, Date Last Saved, etc.). I always want my headers to
be custom text and my footers to have the Date Last Saved on the
left and the Page Number on the right.
Of course, I want the date in my format (d mmmm yyyy) and the
Page Number to be followed by Number of Pages, but that's another
    story... <s>

    Hi,

  • Formatting Color of Header/Footer in Pages

I'm using Pages 5.5.1; I'd like to format the color of the header/footer cell in a file that was sent to me (screenshot of said header below). However, when I double click the cell, there is no option for me to change the background color of the actual cell (it only allows me to change the text).
Any insight into how to simply change the color would be appreciated.

Figured it out...if you click the cell, go under "Layout" and then expand the menu for "Borders & Rulers," the color option comes up.

  • FF 6 "Page Setup" missing "Format & Options" and "Margins & Header/Footer" tabs

Running 6.0.1 or 6.0.2 on FreeBSD 8.2-STABLE when I select File->Page Setup the standard popup window no longer has tabs for "Format & Options" and "Margins & Header/Footer" that I see on Windows XP when running 6.0.2 - this would be okay were it not for the fact that printing (using CUPS on FreeBSD) no longer prints the headers and footers (which I see just fine when I do Print Preview) something in FF 6.x has regressed and is affecting Page Setup.

Yep, this I know. And have long since done this (probably before FireFox was called Mozilla). In fact my margins are set the way I want them (and have been unchanged for years - at least since 2006). That was the first thing I checked.
The fact is ever since I upgrated to 6.01 from 5.x (which was a few weeks ago) my printing from FF6 has not included the footers and headers. As I've said, I can see my footers and headers when I perform Print Preview, but they do not appear on the printed page(s), I truly believe this is changed behaviour due to the upgrade to FF6. Next week I will try a screen capture of my Print Preview to include an image for the "Add images:" feature when posting a reply, but I don't know how to show the physical printed page lacking those same headers and footers short of shooting a photograph with a macro lens and including that as an image. Therefore for now, you will just have to take my word for the fact of missing footers and headers. Also, next week I would be able to post here my about:config settings for the margin preferences which I assure you have remained unchanged for several years. FWIW, printing from Opera 11.11 to the same printer from the same workstation where FF6 is running does include my footers and headers. To my thinking this fairly much puts the blame for this problem on FF6. Thanks.

  • Dynamic table header/footer on multiple pages stay original

    hi experts,
i've got a form with a dynamic table. this means that i have a footerrow with mapped information if it should be visible or not. so the table can have from 1 to 40 columns.
i did some scripting in the table's initialize section:
loop over count of colums and set the headerrow, row1 and footerrow elements for index x to hidden.
everything works out fine BUT if the data spans over multiple pages the headerrow on pages 2 to last is original again. means that the hiding of cells is not effective any more. same with footerrow (but here its fine at last page and original at  page 1 to last -1).
i tried to hide cells again in layout:ready section for the other instances of the headerrow.
cells got hidden, but the still visible cells didnt relocate to the left (if i hide it, there should be no space between staying cells).
can anyone please give me a hint what i am missing here?
does anyone have a simple sample for this task? its all about the header/footer for multiple pages!
    thanks a lot!
    daapoo

When the footer goes to the 2nd page the page subform is incremented so you will have to reference the page subform as well. I suggest that you add a button (this is for a test only) to the footer subform and add the code app.alert(this.somExpression). Now render the form and make sure the footer stays on one page. Hit the button and take note of the someExpression. Now add enough rows to force the footer to a new page. Hit th ebutton again and take note of the changed somExpression. So to solve your problem you will have to find out which page your footer is on. and then construct your expression to incorporate this chane in expression. Note that the indexes are 0 based but the page numbering is 1 based.
    Hope that helps

  • How to make shapes appear behind page header/footer in Pages '09

In a Pages (v4.0.2) page layout document, I'm trying to make a gradient as the page background. Since there's no built-in way to do this (as far as my googling shows), I've tried what others have suggested:
    1. Create a new shape and resize it so it fills the entire page
    2. Go to Arrange > Send to Back
    3. There's no step three!
This work great for most of the page. However, the page header and footer are always hidden by the shape, and I can't find a way to get them to lay +in front+ of the shape. How can I get the background shape behind the header & footer?
    Thanks for your help,
    Mike

Are you sure that we may do that with a shape?

  • XMLPub 5.6.3: Data fields missing in Header/Footer

    Hello,
I am having a problem with an RTF template, where the data fields in the
template Header or Footer that should display data do not appear at all, while
the fixed text that is in the Header/Footer is shown.
This template is built with the start:body/end body syntax to separate
the fields that belong to the Header/Footer from the body of the report. The
body has a for-each@section that works fine and a split-by-page-break at the
    end, after the Footer fields.
I played a little bit with the template and I found out, that:
    - if I change my template not to use the start:body/end body syntax, but I use
the Header/Footer Word functionality with the explicit field names specified in
    the header or footer, the data fields will not be displayed;
    - if I remove the for-each@section, the data fields in the Header (before the
    start:body) and in the Footer (after the end body) are displayed correctly;
    - if I duplicate in my XML file one of the elements that are in the Header and I put it
in the child group that is displayed in the repeating section and I add another data
    field in that section, it will display both in the Header and in the repeating section;
This very template works fine on an E-Biz instance at another customer site, but
only here it's showing this issue.
It also looks like a different problem than the one caused by the Microsoft
security update. In fact, I cannot not find any "/headerr" or "/ footerr"
strings in the template RTF. (Anyway, is there a patch for version 5.6.3?)
Can anybody shed some light on this strange issue? Any advice?
    I am using XMLPub Desktop 5.6.3 and MS Word 2000 9.0.6926 SP-3.
If someone wants to have a look, I've prepared a small test example to show this weird behavior.
    Thanks,
    Paolo

    ashee1,
Please refer XMLP User Guide Chapter 9. You need to define data definitions and upload the data template to DataTemplate filed.
Create the Template Definition and upload your RTF Template.
Create a Report Definition in Concurrent Program/Manager and set the executable as XDODTEXE. make sure the program short name is the same as Data Definition.
Set the output type as XML and the OPP will pick your RTF Template.

  • Patch for displaying header/footer in the PDF output

    Hi all,
I have issue in the xml report, I am not able to view the header/footer details while viewing the output in pdf format.
I found the solution in the blogs, they mentioned apply patch(5352734) in the below URL(http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/discuss/msgReader$103). I downloaded the patch but i dont knw how to apply this patch to generate the output with header/footer details.Even i read the readme.txt they said simply apply u5352734.drv file but i dont knw how to apply and where to apply this file.
please guide me if any one know how to do this?..
    with regards
    Ram

For seeing the header footer on the xml publisher desktop you need to Patch 5579683
    and follow these instructions
    1. From Template Builder, select Help -> About Template Builder.
    2. Go to the Workspace directory and change to the subdirectory jlib.
    3. Rename existing xdocore.jar and copy xdocore.jar from this patch.
You can find the patch on metalink.
    Hope this helps.

  • Header footer

I want to eliminate the header and footer form from the template so i can have that space for text.
Is this possible..or is the header/footer template permanent?

Yes, you can create your own default template. Set up your document with the margins, headers, etc. as you'd like. Redefine all of the paragraph & character styles to have your desired font.
While you're at it, you might want to set default styles for all objects, text boxes, tables, paragraph styles, etc. Start with a blank document & insert an object. Change the color, wrap, etc. to your choosing & then go to Format > Advanced > Define Default Shape Style then delete the object. Repeat with an image/photo, a text box & a table.
Now, save this as a template then, in Pages > Preferences, select this template as the default for new documents. All of your new documents will have these settings for inserted objects, images & tables. Unfortunately, the settings won't apply to any other templates or "foreign" documents you open with Pages.

  • Excel-Export WAD 7.0 - Header/Footer/Margins

    Dear all,
I used the Header/Footer and Margin options in the export wizard (export to excel) but it doesn't work. When I print the excel file no header/footer information are shown. as well as the margin settings of the printed page are not as I entered.
I know that I should use the pdf-export (it works fine), nevertheless the customer wants to have a "formatted printing" even out of a generated excel-file.
    Any ideas?
Or do the input options regarding header/footer and so on only refer to the pdf-export?
    Thanks in advance.
    Mark

    Dear Mark,
Unfortunately Excel exporting is not designed for such purposes. The only option you have is to specify which web items are to be exported (using the Export to Excel button with the standard command). In case you want to export from the context menu, it will send to Excel everything which is on the screen, so, no way to control.
You could consider a workbook for a better formatted Excel, if really needed.
    Kind Regards,
    Marcio

  • Remove header/footer/concatenate?

    Hi All,
I'm new to the PI developmental game and am just back from a couple PI classes. I have been tasked with the following as my first developmental challenge and am really not sure where to start. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction to get this one solved.
I'm currently working on a process that allows our customers to query the location of their product during shipment.
We receive flat text file updates from the shipping company 4 times a day and sometimes in multiple files.
Each file contains a header of undetermined rows and character length
Each file contains a footer of undetermined rows and character length
The file we receive is a text file that is not tab delimited and not in csv format.
The needed data resides between header/footer and has only 3 constants
Constants: the first 10 characters are the individual truck identifier name and as imagined are all unique alpha-numeric
following the rail car identifier is the date in YY/mm/dd format
the last constant is another date at the 40th character in YY/dd/mm format
I need to strip the header/footer and only keep the needed data in between. I also need to concatenate the messages (if there are multiples) in our inbound directory into a single file for outbound after processing.
My idea for processing is to use the truck name length (with a requisite entry length of 10 characters) that must be followed at the 11th character by a valid date in YY/mm/dd format. Using a rule of a requisite valid date at character 40 would further strengthen the guarantee of needed data delivery while further strengthening the removal of the header/footer/unneeded data.
Does this sound like a rational plan  and if so does the content conversion have to take place in the file adapter? Inbound or outbound? How to concatenate these files into one?
Any help would greatly be appreciated!
    Don

    Hi Donald,
For PI to receive the file you need to use the SENDER file adapter and you can use it with File Content Conversion.
Here are details how to use that: [help.sap|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2c/181077dd7d6b4ea6a8029b20bf7e55/content.htm]
and here is some more information on the same:
    [more|http://www.riyaz.net/blog/xipi-file-content-conversion-for-complex-structures/technology/sap/79/]
For the concatenation it looks like you will need BPM as mentioned also by the others.

  • Can i use Functions in Header/Footer ( want to have pagewise totals) - Urgent

    hi there,
I want to show pagewise totals. is it possible to use functions (sum, count etc.) in the Header / footer of a workbook ? Otherwise, pls. suggest a workaround is possible.
I am using Discoverer Ver. 4.1.37.00.0 Desktop edition.
    Thanx,
    Rajesh.

EDIT: I notice I am giving instructions for Numbers 3.0 but the OP may have Number '09.  Same ideas apply but the instructions are not quite the same.
Depends on which axis.  I do not know your expertise level so I may explain some things you already know.
To change the Y axis scale, select the chart and go to the axis tab in the format sidebar. Click on Y Axis. Put in your minimum and maximum values for the "scale". Then choose the numer of "steps" for the Y axis.
    For the X Axis:
Most charts are "category" charts.  That is, on the chart the X Axis data is evenly spaced. The X Axis data could be numbers it could be text, it doesn't matter, it is evenly spaced across the bottom.  For these charts, there is no changing the X axis scale; the question itself doesn't make any sense. The X axis data is typically put into a header column/row (as you have noticed).
There is one chart type, the Scatter Chart, that has a scalable X axis. It makes a true X-Y chart. The scaling for the X axis is done the same way as the Y axis.  Note that for a scatter chart, the X axis data cannot be in a header row/column.

  • CUSTOM PORTLET HEADER/FOOTER

I need to create custom portlet containers, with custom header, footer and border.(Specifically I need rounded edges without the border.) The portal style editor supports header customization only, which is not enough in my case. Is my path to follow to create my own ContainerRenderer (subclassing DefaultContainerRenderer) and to overwrite renderShowHeader() and renderShowFooter() to staisfy my needs? If I do this, how would I render the minimize, customize, etc links in my own header? If I have third party portlets, I can set their providers to use my container renderer, but I am not sure about the effects of it (eg: the third party provider can't use custom containerrenderer). What other restirictions do I introduce with this solution? Are there any other ways to get the same effect?
