Formatted fields disappear after exporting to Infoview

Hi Experts,
In my CR2008 report file, I have date fields which are disappeared after opening in Infoview.
Here is an example of the formatted date field:
{@StatementDate} =
if {@Timezone}="EST"
then cstr(dateadd("n",(5+{?Offset})*60,),{?DateFormat})
else if {@Timezone}="EDT"
then cstr(dateadd("n",(4+{?Offset})*60,),{?DateFormat})
{@Timezone} : This formula field checks if the PrintTimeZone falls in Daylight Savings or not and returns either EST or EDT
Similary, another formula field uses CurrentDateTime and returns the report run date in user timezone based on the {?Offset} value.
When {@StatementDate} is used in the report in CR2008, there is no issue. Everything comes up correctly. When the same report is opened through Infoview, the {@StatementDate} field is showing blank.
Please suggest at the earliest .Thanks in advance.

Naresh

HI Jamie,
I've tried your suggestion. When using the Timezone formula to display in Infoview, it's returning 'E' instead of 'EST', where actually the formula is failing.
Timezone formula is based on PrintTimeZone function of CR2008 to extract the abbreviated form of the User Timezone who logs in and runs a report. So, it checks for daylight savings and returns the abbreviated form like EST or EDT or IST so on.....
In Timezone formula there is a loop which tried to extract the first character of the PrintTimeZone function and returns the abbreviated formula. If PrintTimeZone is Eastern Standard Time, -300, Daylight Saving, -60, 03.0.0 2:00,11.1.0 1:00, it first checks whether the current month and date falls in Daylight Savings or not and returns True if Daylight Savings, Then, it returns EST or EDT. This works for all the TimeZone across the globe
So, in Infoview, it returns 'E' and failing to extract the rest of the characters to form EST or EDT. Any clue as why this could happen? For now, I've hard coded the formula to return  EST or EDT depending on the Daylight savings true or false.
Thanks
Naresh

  • InDesign CC: Text in editable text fields disappearing after exporting

    Hi,
I'm having an issue of text disappearing from editable text fields after exporting the document as an interactive pdf. I've created the text that needs to be editable in acrobat with InDesign CC. So for example, I want to have an editable text field that already says "I'm Mary." I want users to have an ability to change "Mary" to "Tom" or "Ben" in Acrobat. So the pdf should have an editable text form saying "I'm Mary" sentence when users open the pdf in Acrobat. However, after exporting, the text fields remains but the text itself "I'm Mary." is gone. I don't understand why this happens because the text is there when previewed in SWF preview window in InDesign.
The below is the list of steps I took.
STEP 1: Create some texts (For example, m with the text frame tool in InDesign CC
STEP 2: Right click the frame, and click on "Interactive > Convert to Text Field"
    OR
STEP 2: Select the text frame, open "Buttons and Forms" window and change the type as "Text Field"
STEP 3:  Export the document as an interactive pdf. The setting is default.
Result: When I open the pdf in Acrobat, the text field is there, but it is blank.
Please help me to resolve this issue. I know this is possible because a person before me at my job did it.
    Thank you!

As far as I know, to have a pre-populated text form [I'm Mary] appear in the text field, you will need to set the Default Value of the text field in Acrobat. You can do that by selecting the property of the field > Options > Default Value

    Export file disappears after exporting
Tried dataexport(calc script), report script, need du=ynamic calc members too..
    its urgent now....please help
But I have lots and lots of dynamic calc members...its huge...will take hours together to change...so I planned to make stored for only those members which are required in export file...but now...It seems that default calc is not getting executed... may be that happened because I changed few member properties...
Any thoguths why now dynamic calc is not working?
Thanks a lot for any help..its really urgent now...

Regardless of which limited export process you are using (dataexport calc script, report script, or MaxL/Esscmd export) I can't imagine the export file disappearing if it in fact gets written out at all.
As rinku wrote, if it's a true Esssbase export it's either in the app folder or where ever you wrote it with MaxL/Esscmd.
There are known issues with dynamic calc and dataexport. I've seen this myself and ultimately gave up on exporting the dynamic members. Yes, your changes could cause your exising aggregation scripts to give different results.
    How about this:
    1) Reduce scope of export process and remove dynamically calculated Accounts/Periods (a guess on my part, but likely right)
    2) Export to known location (app folder under Essbase folder or some server-addressable folder). Btw, how are you doing the export? It wasn't clear from your post, but I guess it doesn't really matter.
    3) See if that works, and if so, expand until failure. That will tell you what is and isn't going to work.

  • Picture disappears after exporting to Excel and saving.

    Afternoon,
I appologise if this question has been asked before, but I did try search past posts.
I am using CR4E, the latest version.
I have designed a report with a Logo in the Page Header. (JPG). If I export the report as a Excel Report (Page Based), the
    Picture is displayed as expected.
I can open and close the Excel Report as many times as I want and the picture remains. BUT as soon as I make a change to the
spreadsheet, and save, the Picture disappears.
I have tried using a BMP file, but still the same, I have tried having the picture in different sections but no luck.
If anyone has any ideas as to how I can keep the picture after saving the Excel version I would be greatly in your debt.
    Cheers
    Darren

    Morning,
I have managed to find a work around, although I am not 100% why it works but it does.
I was unable to find a solution to the problem using the Eclipse version of CR, but I found a version of CR2008 at the office, and
using that, inserted a OLE Object attached to my Logo (JPG) and placed this OLE object on the report. My original Picture of the logo was left in its correct placement.
With this OLE Object, it appears that I am not able to export the XLS file and then manipulate the spreadsheet and save as many times
as I wish and the logo remains.
The only issue I have with the OLE Object, and this is probably down to my lack of knowledge, is that the Object contains
a text reference to the file name "Company_Logo.jpg" and that it. It does not display the picture or anything but the text.
I am then unable to hide this text or change the colour of the font to "hide" it. What I have had to do is make the object as small
as possible and place it in the bottom right corner of the report and hope no one notices it
So as you can see my solution is not the greatest but it is working.
Krishnan, I tried you suggestion of moving it the picture object back and forward did not help, and then your File Export Options
idea is not possible in Eclipse Crystal Reports (not that I could find). What version of CR would you be refering to?
    Thanks for the suggestions/help.
    Cheers

  • Audio Disappears After Export

I've come across a bug that's occurred twice to me in the past 3-4 months. When exporting a sequence out of Premiere Pro, the resulting file loses some of its audio. Here are the details:
A section of 10 minutes of audio towards the end of the project disappear in the resulting .mov QuickTime file
    Export settings are
I cannot get the problem to reoccur after it has happened. It seems to be at random.
The first time this issue occurred, I used H.264 as the codec. So I know that does not fix the issue.
Both times I have sent the sequence to Adobe Media Encoder for export.
Here is a screenshot of the project, showing that everything in the audio mixer window is fine, as well as individual tracks in the timeline. I've set in/out points over the section that disappeared in the export. The green audio track in this area is the audio that was missing, the disabled clip above it is scratch audio and is supposed to be disabled.
Can anyone help me figure out why this issue has occurred? Both times it has happened have been in critical scenarios where the file needs to work (one being a backup in case our satellite feed has issues, and this most recent time it happened on our television broadcast without me knowing until after).

    Hi Codyn,
I'm really not sure. And it sounds like it is not easily repeatable. Can you file a bug report? Here is the link: http://adobe.ly/ReportBug

  • Fields disappear after using the Reduce size save in X pro

My many form fields literally are gone after doing a save as>Reduce File Size  command in the new Acrobat X Pro.
I have many pages that I have anywhere from 30 to 50 interactive fields to fill in, I had tested the forms closed the file reopened and then because the file size was a bit more than I have seen in the earlier version of Acrobat, so I used the Save as>Reduce file size command on all my pages after seeing in the folder that my interactives went from 1050 KB to around 500, so I did every form one after the other.
Well when I went to start loading them in to FTP and testing them after placing on the web when clicking on the PDF it has no fillable fileds, well I thought what, so I opened that same file on my computer and nit came up the same, and the last thing I had done before starting to upload was to do the Reduce File Size command.
To have all my fields wiped out like this is crazy, I have no way to recover them from what I can tell, unless Adobe has a miracle fix, which I'm hoping.
I can't find any setting that says it removes form fields upon save!
Can somone tell me what has happened and maybe why, I have doing these type forms for years and have never had this happen, I'm Wary of this new Acrobat, I can't see the old history menu, where you could see pdf's that you created a month ago or more. Why does that screen stay on in the center of the program all the time, most of those have a close box that you can get rid of it. Is there a way to turn on the old 9.0 menus everywhere, and can you move the right side column to the left side somewhere, it just is easier for me to use.
Things seemed to work relatively good in the old version, why some many drastic changes, it ends up slowing my production down, and now i'm behind on my work load.
I'm all for improvments, but really why change everything, it seems counter productive even for Adobe, unless someone is trying to justify their employment.
    I apologize really frustrated here.
Any help to recover would be great.

Thank you LoriAUC, it was definitely the Reduce File Size command. Although I have used the Optimizer in the past in older versions of Acrobat I did not use it in this case.
I have been doing this exact same work with Acrobat from the days of Live Cycle or what ever it was called, and just a few weeks ago I was creating the same interactive's using the same files for a different client, using the Acrobat 9 pro I believe in the built in "Forms" builder.
I think where I may have screwed up is I had always done my Reduce File Size before I made the form interactive, this time I happened to see that each page was over 1 MB and I know that the non-interactive version that I also post on our website is more like 200 KB, so when I saw that they were over 1 MB, I decided that I was going to use the Reduce File Size after I had finished all of my 13 pages of interactive's.
I did not think to check the first one to see that the interactive was still functional, and proceeded to change all of them by quickly opening doing the save as reduce file size and then closing, and it took a whole 3 minutes to undue/ ruin the hours of building the pages with the 30 to 50 field areas that were interactive.
I don't wish to replicate it right now, but I will attempt a test with some made up test files to verify when the deleting of the fields took place, because there was data in the fields, but it was now flat and when you click on the edit in forms, it asks if you want to have the wizard place fields because no fields are in the document, or something to that effect.
I will let you know the outcome of my experiment.
If you come up with any other info I would be very interested.
    Thanks again for the help.
    Sincerely,
    Omnia Guy

  • Form Fields Disappear after Editing

I created a simple interactive form from a fairly simply Excel  document.  After working to create and edit the fields I have them all as I want.  When I leave the forms edit mode and save the document as a pdf, all those fields are gone with the exception of a couple of text fields.
All the fields are simple text fields wiht just two needing simple sum calulations.   When I open the saved form and click on hightlight fields, they are not there.  When I enter Forms edit mode and click on highlight existing fields, they all appear and their properties are intact.  I checked all the fields for accuracy and complete instructions several times.   Perhaps I am missing something in how I am saving the document or something is required when I close each field.  None of the fields are locked.
I am using a 27" iMac with 12GB RAM using OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and running version 10.1.0 of Adobe Acrobat Pro.   Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jay

    Thanks Michael,
I had to do a lot of manual field editing and adding.  The root of my problem, however, was me.   I am so new to interactive forms that I did not understand what creating a "hidden" field meant.  What I did was hide all fields.  I thought that would just hide the name of the field but it hides everything.  Once I made them visible, all was well.  DUH!!
Thanks for your reply.   It would be great to do calculations in Excel then have them translate into Adobe Acrobat.  I am not very good at javascript.

  • All audio disappears after exporting to .mov file

I'm creating a short 'montage' piece, and all audio is muted except for a song which I added into the timeline. I've tried exporting it several times, even replacing the source file for the song, but nothing seems to work. The audio is visible and playing in the timeline, but as soon as I export it, it magically disappears.
    Any suggestions?

Adding to Russ's comments and questions: if you are exporting a file, you get to choose to export only audio, only video or both. Check your setttings in that regard; to complicate matters, this setting sometimes does not stick (a known bug in 10.0.8). If that is the case, the usual workaround is to change some other parameter, make an export (which you can cancel), then go back to the export panel and change it back.

  • Media Disappears After Exporting to Soundtrack Pro

I have an HD project I'm working on that was shot on the HVX200. The files have been converted and imported into FCPS2 and the edit went fine. Then I tried to export the sequence to Soundtrack Pro for audio editing and clips started disappearing from the drive. The only solution I have found is to re-convert and import the files.
This has happened twice now and all the same files. What's happening? Does anyone know of a way to prevent this?

Reports of this strange file disappearing behavior surface every few months and almost always involve having both apps (STP and FCP) open at the same time. Speculation has been that somewhere in the round trip, FCP gets confused and believes the original files are renders and are deleted. And when FCP deletes something, it is gone.
The work around has been to make sure that both apps are not running at the same time - i.e. export your file from FCP then close FCP. Launch STP, make changes then export back and close STP. Launch FCP, import edited file back in and continue on your merry way.
This is a pain for certain. The other way is make sure you always have a set of the media stored offline (which you would anyway with P2 sourced files) and simply do an offline/online reconnect when the files go missing.
    Good luck.

  • IMovie 11 - Export Using Quicktime - File Disappears after Export......

    Hey everyone:
I've got a weird one here.  I've made my first project using iMovie.  I want to burn a DVD, so I clicked >>Share >> iDVD and it comes over fine.  I then setup a menu and stuff and burned it.  However, when I play it on my 52" plasma, it doesn't fit correctly.  It fills the screen, but it's almost like it's zoomed in so it cuts off of ALL edges.
So I did some research and found this post and went to try it out.  So within iMovie, I click "share using Quicktime" and change some of the various settings and export the movie as a Quicktime (.MOV) file to my "Movies" folder.  The movie is about 55 minutes, it says it'll take about 35 minutes to export.
35 minutes later I come back and the export box has closed, iMovie is still open, just like it should be, and the file I just exported is nowhere to be found.  It just disappears.  The second and third time I tried, I open a Finder window and watch the file get created, then get larger, and larger.  But once it's done, the file is gone.
So then I created a new project and made a movie that was only 10 minutes long.  It exports fine and the file is there when it's done.  In other words, I can't replicate the problem with a new project.  However, I have a lot of time in editing this movie and don't want to start over for fear of finding the same result.
    What should I do?
    Thanks!

I have this same problem and there are several threads running about it.  I have the paid-for version of iMovie, and cannot even get it to export a Quicktime movie.  This makes it even more useless than I already find it to be.  I spent the last two days working on a video, and for me to send it to my client, I would have to freight my computer to them so they could view it.

  • Why did my sequence disappear after exporting the project?

After a late night of editing, I rendered and exported the project (mp4). This morning the client asked for an edit, but when I open the project, only the source media are there. There is no sequence, and I haven't been able to find the file. Suggestions?
(First project in Premiere Pro after several years of using Premiere Elements.)

Here are the steps I would take...
    1) Look closely into your project panel to see if maybe it's in there, just looking like media to you (I've made that mistake before) -- maybe switch to list view and it might be easier to tell the difference and compare the names/types. Also try searching on the sequence name if you know it.
    2) If it's definitely not in the project panel, then go to File > Open recent > and see if maybe there is another project in the recent list that may contain the sequence you need.
    3) If it's still not there, then like Jim said, you must have deleted it... Go to your 'Adobe Premiere Pro Auto-Save' folder (usually in the same parent directory as your Pr project files) and open older saved versions until you (hopefully) find one with the sequence you need intact.
    4) If all else fails... Do you use time machine or some other incremental backup system? If so, roll back to a state where the sequence is still available.

  • Project Disappeared after exporting (iMovie '11)

I created a photo slide show type movie in iMovie '11. After I exported it, the Project no longer appeared under the Edit Project tab in the app.
There's been a lot of talk here about remving some prefernce files to get missing project to reappear. I've done that but with no results.
What's strange to me is even going back into Time Machine I see no evidence of this project. There's not file for it in the iMovie Porject folder in the past. It is almost as if this .mov file I created came out of nowhere.
I'm glad the project was done when I expoerted it, but am confused as to why the project file no loner exists in the app itsself or any folder.
Any idea where m work went?
    Thanks

Hello! I am having the same problems. I have tried exporting it every which way, have detached every piece of audio that I could, been doing this for days, and nothing is working. I new it had to be a bug.
Can you tell me how to remove the iMovie update, and re-install the original iMovie? Do I download this from the mac site?
I am turning in a huge project for a grant, and I need this done in 2 days!

  • How to make fields disappear after making them appear

I've got a drop-down list with a question like this:  Q) how many people did you interview?  and you can select a number that corresponds to the number of people you interviewed.  I've got the fields appearing without any problems, so if I select 2, I get two text fields to appear asking for the names of the people you interviewed.
My problem is once I select a number, lets say I select 4 by mistake but intended to select 3, I get 4 text fields appearing.  However if I go back and select 3, which is the number of fields I wanted, I still have 4 fields showing.  How do I get the number of fields I select be the only number of fields to appear?

Will the CSR have Acrobat or just Reader, and what type of computer will the CSR be using (Windows/Mac/mobile OS)? If just Reader (Wind/Mac), this is possible by setting the fields to read-only with JavaScript. The problem is this can't be considered secure, even if using a password as discussed here: Password-protect and hide one form field
With Acrobat you have the ability to flatten certain fields, which makes it a bit more difficult to change the "fields".

  • Lightroom disappears after export to Photoshop

Am working with Lightroom 2.0 on a PowerMac G5, 4 g RAM, ATI Radeon 9800 XT, OS 10.5.4. Each time I send an image out from Lightroom for editing in Photoshop, do a SAVE in PSCS3 and try to return to Lightroom, the browser window is gone and I can't get it back. I have to quit and restart LR to get my content view(s) back. Only the Lightroom menu bar shows. Did not see this problem in LR 1x or in LR 2 beta.

I too have this problem and i had it before in 4.0 or 4.3. Now that i have upgraded to 4.4 i have the same problem and i was too looking for the solution. I found a work around which is only a couple of steps instead of just hitting Command and E to send to photoshop.
Just right click in the image you are working on and then select Edit in and you will see photoshop but dont select it, click on Select Program or Open with (cannot remember what it is) and then select your version of photoshop. Once this is done, on your next image just do the same steps, right click on image, edit in and select the second Photoshop in the menu and it will open just fine.
I know its not a fix but its a work around. You can also do a clean install of 4.4 and i think that should fix it. (pain in the *** which i havent done and probably wont do for a while since i cant have lightroom down.
    Hope this helps.
