Formatted Search on Order Grid with Bill of Materials templates

This is for 2005A SP01 PL45 (latest patch as of now).
We have a few formatted searches on the order details that trigger automatically when the item code changes.
These queries work fine if the items are not part of a bill of materials.
The queries trigger ok when we use the regular item codes for regular customers when monitoring the item code column.
However, if you have a BP Catalog customer with a BOM then only the last row of the bill of materials fires and the rest of them do not.
I tried bypassing this problem by making the queries monitor the Item Description.
This still worked for stand alone items, but didn't work for bill of materials in either of the case.
Bottom line:
A. Formatted searched fire ok on either item code or item description if items are not part of a bill of materials.
B. When they are part of a BOM, then
- if we monitor the item code then they trigger ok for regular customers but only trigger on the last row if using BP Catalog codes;
- if we monitor the item description then they do not trigger at all for either of the customers.
Any suggestion on how to handle formatted searches for Bill of Material Templates with BP Catalogs?
Thank you!
Liviu

Well, it is a Bill Of Materials "Template" type...
Go to Production, Bill of Materials, select a product, quantity 1, select the BOM Type as Template and add two other items underneath it, each with quantities of 1.
Save.
Go to BP Catalogs, select one BP and add some names for these three items. Check the box to use BP Catalogs for that BP.
Go to sales orders, add the query above to the free text column, set it as per the scenarios to trigger automatically on Item Code.
Start two sales orders for this BP and for a regular one.
Load the BOM item and observe the formatted search results.
Repeat for the second scenario (where the formatted search triggers on the item description).
Hope this helps.
Thank you!

  • Open sales order report with billing date.

    Hi,
I want to know if there's an available report for open sales order with billing date field.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
If your case is "Order-related" Billing, you can use the T.Code "VF04" for this purpose.
One more way is to go for a custom report.
Make a copy of code of the T.Code "VA05n"(Program Name is "SD_SALES_ORDERS_VIEW").
Change the code as per your requirement to display the field "Billing Date" in the report.
Check with your ABAPer if you wish to go for a custom report.

  • Sales Order Status with Billing Plan

    Dear SAP SD Gurus,
I have an order with 2 billing plans and both of them have been invoiced.
The status of my order still considered "being processed" eventhough both invoiced have been created and posted to FI.
    I'm using item category "TAO".
Any clue will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Soo

    Dear All,
I have fixed the problem. The schedule line for TAO should be non-delivery relevant.
I have changed to not-relevant for delivery and it is working now.
Thanks a lot for all the clues.

  • Formatted search on grids

Formatted search on grids does not work.
    I defined formatted search query
             SELECT $[$MYGRID.QTY.0]
and link it to field DESCRIPTION on the grid.
I was hoping to get QTY value copied to DESCRIPTION when press SHIFT-F2. but nothing happened.
Does Formatted Search working on grids? is any work around?
    Thanks a lot
    Fred

    Fred,
Please have a look at this SAP Note as it pertains to issues with Formatted Searches on grids.  If this issue pertains to you, you will need to download patch level 18 from SAP Business One 2005A SP01 from the SAP PartnerEdge Portal.

  • Include the "created by" field in formatted searches

    Hello
Very stupid question : how do you include the "created by" (usersign) field in a formatted search for marketing document ? Where do you find the variable numbers since this field is not visible on screen ?
    Thanks for your help
    Fabrice

    HI Milton Rafael Mazzali ,
$[USER] will display user number only.
First decided where u want to display user name. Create a formatted search for that field with this Query  "SELECT T0.U_NAME FROM OUSR T0 WHERE T0.INTERNAL_K = $[USER]" and select auto refresh when customer code/name changes.
    This will work.
    Regards

    SELECT T0.Balance FROM OCRD T0 WHERE T0.CardCode = $[$4.0]
My query is based on CardCode(item 4), but when the user defined field window is open, the item 4 is the cross of this form and i have the result next :
    SELECT T0.Balance FROM OCRD T0 WHERE T0.CardCode = N'RSRCButtonCloseBox'
    Thanks
    Sylvain

    Hi,
It happened the same today for me, but using both, $[$4.0.0] and $[$4.1.0]... both of them return that RSRCButtonCloseBox....
    So, what is wrong here?

  • Read item code from Sales Order with formatted search

    hi,
i'm tring to read tha values of the item or items of a sales order (before save it) with a formatted search.
i have no problem to read the value of card code or cardname but i can't read the item's value.
i tried with this [code]Select $[RDR1.ItemCode][/code]  (i found it on the forum) but it doesn't work.
    somebody can help me ?
    thank you

    Hi, Alessandro!
I think the trouble is that you are trying to assign a FS to the header of the document. You are getting the information of the current row, so you have to bind a formatted search to some column of the "table - part" of the document.
    And also you can try:
    SELECT $[$38.1]
38 - the value of "Item" (when you point a mouse to the cell, information you want from)
1 - the value of "Column" (the same...)
It will get an info of this cell in a current row.

  • Formatted Search for Sales Order

    Hi,
I setup a formatted search in Sales Order unit price field.
    Condition required:

    SET @PRICE = $[$38.14.0]
    IF @BASE_ENTRY = 0
    BEGIN
    SELECT T0.[AvgPrice]*(1+T0.[U_SPFactor])
    FROM OITM T0
    WHERE T0.[ItemCode]=$[$38.1.0]
    END
    ELSE
    BEGIN
    SELECT @PRICE
    END
l have no issue if the Sales Order copied from Sales Quotation, however when enter the Sales Order manually the formatted search having error message:
1). [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Error converting data type nvarchar to numeric.

Looks like my query has error...

  • Problem With Formatted Search.

    Hi to all,
I have linked a formatted search to a UDF that lies at row level in AP Invoice. This field is used to display the Sales  Order Price. The requirement is that from SO we create a purchase order and subsequently create a goods receipt and AP invoice.. Now in invoice it is showin perfectly fine whether it is copied from goods receipt or purchase order.. But in the purchase order and goods receipt screen this query will not work. And the same query used in AP invoice is being linked to these documents. Is there any work around for this?? Is it possible to run queries based on the form numbers?? If so ho do i pull the form number in the formatted search query??
    Please Help!!!!
    Regards
    Aris

I recommend creating separate queries for each document.
    ie
1 formatted search to lookup price on sales order from AP Invoice
1 formatted search to lookup price on sales order from GRPO
1 formatted search to lookup price on sales order from PO
then change the lookup to pull fields from the document that you are using as a reference.
when you are building the formatted searhes start by returning the values that are you are using as a reference. That way you are sure that you are pulling the correct information.
Then layer in the lookup to the sales order.
If you get stuck I recommend that you copy and paste the formatted search in SQL Server management studio and replace the variables refereces with real values.
In my experience troubleshooting queries is more effective when using SQL Server management studio. (the error reporting is better).
