Formatted Search - Sales Quote / Order Header

Dear all,
I am trying to get the data from the Sales Quote header to a UDF field in the sales order.
This is the query I am trying to use....
SELECT Distinct T0.Header FROM OQUT T0, ORDR T1 INNER JOIN RDR1 T2 ON T1.DocEntry = T2.DocEntry WHERE T0.DocNUm = $[$38.44.1]
Can you see where I am going wrong - as it doesnt return any answer at all ??
(I have it set up to automatically update after doc total changes...)
This certainly works for the doc number:
SELECT Distinct T0.Docnum FROM OQUT T0, ORDR T1 INNER JOIN RDR1 T2 ON T1.DocEntry = T2.DocEntry WHERE T0.DocNUm = $[$38.44.1]
Thanks in advance...
Jason.

HI Jason
The query:
SELECT top 1 T0.Header FROM OQUT T0 where T0.DocEntry =$[$38.45.0]
Use the BaseEntry instead of BaseNum (document numbering can be restarted by year!)
Regards,
J
ps: Do not forget the Asnwered status:)

  • Problems using a formatted search to link order lines to order header

    Hi,
I'm having a nightmare trying to get the main lines table to populate the header within a sales order using a formatted search.
I have created a UDF on the header for total value, and where items entered onto the order are of a certain type I need the header UDF to be sumated.
Basically I have three parts for packaging (PACK1, PACK2 and PACK3), and the header has a UDF called U_TotPack
Someone did sugest the following query, but this doesn't appear to work either:
    select sum(t0.linetotal) from rdr1 t0 inner join ordr t1 on t0.docentry = t1.docentry
    where t1.docnum = $[ORDR.DocNum] and t0.itemcode in ('PACK1', 'PACK2', 'PACK3')
If it is a problem for me to use the line total field (as it is a variable calculation) I am happy to total the quantities for the items found, but I just can't seem to build any form of relationship between the header and lines.
Hope someone out there is able to help as this one has really got me stumped.
    Cheers,
    J

    Hi Julian,
I'm assuming you are trying to populate the header UDF before the Order is added to the system? If yes then it is not possible to achieve this via a formatted search, only SDK. A header FS cannot properly access line information, it only works the other way around - header info to line level.
I presume the reasoning is that which line should your header FS take a value from? The FS syntax also doesn't allow you to loop throught all lines.
The SQL that someone else suggested would only work for a sales order already added to the database. Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Andrew.

  • Formatted Search - Sales Order - UDF

Hi, I need to now if is possible, when I create a new Sales Order and I chage the Sales Employee on the drop down list I can catch the new sales employee selected and use it in a formatted search that is attached to a UDF, all this without saving the new created sales order...
Is any way to catch a value in an active window and attach it to a UDF? for example the current selected sales employee?
    Thank you!

Hi Gordon, its work's! many Thanks!
Another question... you now if it is possible to update a field that have a FMS attached wen 2 event's happens?
For example, I want to change the value of the commission % column when the user change the sales employee drop down list and when the user add a new line to the sales order... in this moment only works when I change the Sales employee, wen I try to add a new row it dont fill in the right commission %.
    SELECT DISTINCT
    CASE
         WHEN $[ORDR.SlpCode]=6 THEN 6
         WHEN $[ORDR.SlpCode]=7 THEN 7
         WHEN $[ORDR.SlpCode]=8 THEN 8
         WHEN $[ORDR.SlpCode]=9 THEN 9
         WHEN $[ORDR.SlpCode]=-1 THEN -1

  • Formatted Search on Order Grid with Bill of Materials templates

This is for 2005A SP01 PL45 (latest patch as of now).
We have a few formatted searches on the order details that trigger automatically when the item code changes.
These queries work fine if the items are not part of a bill of materials.
The queries trigger ok when we use the regular item codes for regular customers when monitoring the item code column.
However, if you have a BP Catalog customer with a BOM then only the last row of the bill of materials fires and the rest of them do not.
I tried bypassing this problem by making the queries monitor the Item Description.
This still worked for stand alone items, but didn't work for bill of materials in either of the case.
    Bottom line:
    A. Formatted searched fire ok on either item code or item description if items are not part of a bill of materials.
    B. When they are part of a BOM, then
    - if we monitor the item code then they trigger ok for regular customers but only trigger on the last row if using BP Catalog codes;
    - if we monitor the item description then they do not trigger at all for either of the customers.
Any suggestion on how to handle formatted searches for Bill of Material Templates with BP Catalogs?
    Thank you!
    Liviu

Well, it is a Bill Of Materials "Template" type...
Go to Production, Bill of Materials, select a product, quantity 1, select the BOM Type as Template and add two other items underneath it, each with quantities of 1.
    Save.
Go to BP Catalogs, select one BP and add some names for these three items. Check the box to use BP Catalogs for that BP.
Go to sales orders, add the query above to the free text column, set it as per the scenarios to trigger automatically on Item Code.
Start two sales orders for this BP and for a regular one.
Load the BOM item and observe the formatted search results.
Repeat for the second scenario (where the formatted search triggers on the item description).
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you!

  • Formatted Search - Using field index to refer to UDF in many documents

I have some UDFs in my marketing documents - say U_VALUE
I want to write a fairly complicated formatted search and use it for the same thing across all my marketing documents.
    I don't want to use
    $[ORDR.U_VALUE]
in my formatted search as this will only work in the sales order document.
I want to use something like
    $[$4.0.0]
which brings back the cardcode independant of the form we are looking at. However
    $[$U_VALUE.0.0]
    will not work!
    Hoping someone can help!
Edited by: Daniel Abbatt on Apr 10, 2008 6:16 PM

Yes you would have to have a UDF called VALUE on the marketing document for this example to run and even then it will error!
That's the point, the code above will not work, SBO only seems to be able to know about ORDR in a sales order and OINV in an invoice. So if I am in a sales order, it errors on the reference to OINV, even though the code that uses the
    $[OINV.U_VALUE]
is never actually accessed by the SQL. I guess this is because SBO does the substitutions before it executes the code.
All I am basically trying to do is create a generic formatted search that will perform an action using the value of a UDF, say some formatting, the problem is I want it to work with any marketing document.
The only way I can find to access a UDF though is by having to use the
    $[TABLE.U_FIELDNAME]
way, which seems to mean by definition I can only create a formatted search to access a header UDF for a single type of document. I cannot create a generic formatted search, that reverses the string for example, and use that formatted search across all marketing documents.
I know you can access normal fields also by their item reference, i.e.
    $[$4.0.0]
, but this syntax does not seem to work with UDF, even though the system information shows the item reference as U_VALUE, I cannot use the
    $[$U_VALUE.0.0]
    which would be ideal...

  • Read item code from Sales Order with formatted search

    hi,
i'm tring to read tha values of the item or items of a sales order (before save it) with a formatted search.
i have no problem to read the value of card code or cardname but i can't read the item's value.
i tried with this [code]Select $[RDR1.ItemCode][/code]  (i found it on the forum) but it doesn't work.
    somebody can help me ?
    thank you

    Hi, Alessandro!
I think the trouble is that you are trying to assign a FS to the header of the document. You are getting the information of the current row, so you have to bind a formatted search to some column of the "table - part" of the document.
    And also you can try:
    SELECT $[$38.1]
38 - the value of "Item" (when you point a mouse to the cell, information you want from)
1 - the value of "Column" (the same...)
It will get an info of this cell in a current row.
    HTH!

I have made this query but it is not working:
    SELECT distinct T0.[Comments] FROM ORDR T0 , POR1 T1 WHERE T0.[DocNum] = T1.[BaseRef]
It is just pulling the remarks for the first sales order - purchase order link.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Delivery - Sales Order executes formatted search

    Hi
Found a very strange behaviour of B1:
When making a new Delivery, which contains a formatted search in the lines, based on an sales order the value of the delivery  (position) gets newly calculated -> the formatted search gets executed!. This is imho very very strange because when referencing an order i want the value SIMPLY from there (All other fields get copied too).
the formatted search is based on a saved query:
    SELECT $[$38.11.NUMBER]*$[$38.U_AnzMenge.NUMBER]
    -Autorefresh Yes
    -When altering Column
    -Display Saved Values
    Any suggestions?
    TIA

    Hi there,
    Can try:
    SELECT 'Price'=CASE WHEN $[$38.44.NUMBER]=0 THEN 2*2
    ELSE
    (SELECT T0.Price From RDR1 T0 INNER JOIN ORDR T1 ON T0.DocEntry=T1.DocEntry
    WHERE T1.DocNum=$[$38.44.NUMBER] AND T0.ItemCode=$[$38.1.0])
    END
This query only workable for local currency or currency specify in your Delivery Order. If your Sales Order line detail have different currency then you will need to modify the query.
    Hope this help...

    Hi Experts,
I have a client that needs a Formatted Search that will bring back values according to the following Scenario:
The Formatted search will be placed on the Sales Order Lines RDR1.U_UPC field.
On a Sales Order I have created UDFs: RDR1.U_Label and RDR1.U_UPC
On the BP Master Data I have created the UDFs: OCRD.U_UPCChoice
On the Item Master Data I have created the UDFs: OITM.UPCRetail and OITM.UPCLoc and OITM.UPCItem and
    OITM,UPCOther
When the RDR1.U_Label field is '1', I need the RDR1.U_UPC to be the text 'not Applicable'
When the RDR1.U_Label field is '2', I need it to look at the OCRD.U_UPCChoice.
If that value is '1' then it must bring back the OITM.UPCRetail Value back in the RDR1_UPC field,
If that value is '2' then it must bring back the OITM.UPCLoc Value back in the RDR1_UPC field,
If that value is '3' then it must bring back the OITM.UPCItem Value back in the RDR1_UPC field,
If that value is '4' then it must bring back the text 'Look at Attachment'

  • Copy Formatted Searches From Sales Order To AR Invoice

I have a series of formatted searches attched to the Sales Order.  Is there a way to copy these to another document program like the AR Invoice without having to manually assigning them to each individual field.
    Thanks,
    Tom Arnold - ECS

    Thomas,
I don't think Copy Express is the tool for this.  Copy express is mainly used to company Configuration, User Settings, PLD, etc from one company DB to another.
To copy FMS from one document type to another is a manual effort.  You need to manually open the document and link the FMS.
Also make sure that the if the FMS has form refereces they should be Dynamic.  What I mean is...If you are referencing the CardCode on the Sales Order...you SQL code should not have syntax  $\[ORDR.CardCode]...This will only work on the Sales Order.
You need to make it generic....$\[$4.0.0]..this way it will refer to the Card Code when added to any marketing document.

  • Display column total on the header using Formatted Search

    Hello,
I'm trying to create a FS on a Sales Order header (UDF) that will summarize a
    column from the row level.
For example, I'd like to display the sum of the quantity in the header.
I've tried the following syntax: Select sum($[$-38.11.NUMBER]) but I get
only the first line as query result and not sum of all lines.
Is it possible to get the column total using FS? If so, what should be
    the syntax?
    Thank you in advance,
    Maya

Columns totals are not possible to get through formatted search as the data of the first row is only referenced by the system automatically.
If you are needing the Sum of LineTotal for a Approval procedure, then you could use the Total Before Disc col which is actually the sum (line total)
    Access by
    SELECT $[$22.0.Number]

Perhaps have a look at the following thread...
