Formatting compact flash and installing palm software
I am attempting to replace a failed hard drive in my Palm Lifedrive. I have purchased a 4GB SanDisk Ultra II Compact Flash. How do I format this drive and get the palm software on it?

You have to remove the old hard drive from your LifeDrive, solder in a Compact Flash Socket, then load all the system files and software onto the card.
I don't know what skills you possess, but it's not an easy task. I don' have a clue as to actually performing the surgery and what wire goes where!

Yes, I too had this problem.
I was issued an update from Apple for a new version software as well as a new version of Lightrooom and now it shows up on the desktop and in finder as it should.
MacBook Pro Retina running 10.8.2 (12C54)

You can simply update your iphone or you can restore your iphone as new, or you can erase all content and settings.

I downloaded latest software on iphone 4 and installed new software on my imac (snow leopard 8.6)and now phone not synching with new itunes. Itunes does recognize the phone but the itunes is totally different now. It doesn't look anything like the previous vesions. I can't even find a tab for synching. very strange. any help is appriciated.

You can't. It still thinks that your iPhone is synced with another iTunes library (the one that you had before you reformatted the hard drive.

I bought CS3 several years ago while in school, but had to drop out before I even opened the software. A few months ago I opened and installed the software and used Photoshop to complete a review project in preparation for my return to school. This morning when I tried to open Photoshop again I got a message saying the license didn't support the software anymore and I would need to check with my IT administrator or contact Adobe. I tried calling Adobe but the recorded message said CS was not phone supported. I know it took me a long time to get back to school, but it seems sad to waste the $1,000 I spent on the software. Is there a solution to this issue or do I need to buy new software? Thank you for your help if you have any suggestions.

Jay TanWhen you select update, verify that it is showing your correct Apple ID, perhaps you have an app that was downloaded with a different ID, all apps are always associated with the ID that first downloaded them.

No, if you have that picture it means the update went wrong and you need to restore via iTunes.

Hold down the power button until the screen goes black.
Wait about ten seconds then restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you should be able to access the built in utilities to verify and repair the startup disk if necessary and reinstall OS X. (10.10.1) -
Installing old software from previous Windows 8 installation? And installing new software.

Two questions.
Can I re-install software from my previous Windows 8 installation onto Windows 10 Preview? All the files needed are in Windows.old. I have some software that was registered to me, and getting another copy will be kinda hard.
Also, when the final edition (i.e: not a technical preview) comes out, will any new software that I have installed onto the Technical Preview still be there?
Thanks.It depends on how you installing Windows 10, if you do custom install or clean install which means either format partition of your current Windows or install Windows and removing previous version of Windows which would create Windows.old, you have to reinstall
your applications and restore your data and you need product keys and installation files. However , if you do upgrade which is possible from Windows 8 to Windows 10, then you will have your programs and files in place and you don't need to reinstall them.
But note like previous upgrades (e.g. Windows 7 to Windows 8), you might have some compatibility problems and you might need to uninstall some programs and install newer version which you will know during upgrade process.
When final version of Windows been released, you might need to update or install latest version of some software or programs which are compatible with Windows 10 and latest software products should work on Windows 10. -

Win XP Unable to format hard disk and install
Recently my system has got error about system hive error
"C:\windows\system32\config\sysem file missing"
So when I tried to reinstall the system the winxp setup says
unable to format my hard drive after I choose C Drive to Quick Format(NTFS) and install option,this note appears
"setup was unable to format drive c:the hard disk may be damaged
make sure the disk is on and properly connected to the computer .If the disk is a SCSI disk,make sure your SCSI devices are properly terminated.See your computer or SCSI adapter documentation for more info"
Thinking that the hard disk(Seagate Barracuda 160GB SATA) might have corrupted I used Seagate seatools to check for error and the test failed. So I replaced the hard disk with brand new WD 160GB SATA hard disk and started installing the winxp. Again I'm facing the same problem. Even I checked with the new connection port.
I'm using AMD Sempron Processor. MSI K9MM-V Motherboard. dynet 512MB RAM.
As the problem is existing even with the new hard disk I think there is no problem with the hard disk or cable. the problem must be something else.
Please help me find the problem and rectify it.
(My hard disk is SATA and No-RAID, No-SCSI, BIOS detects my hard disk and I'm able to create partitions but unable to format and install WinXP)
I've used the same hard disk on another system with MSI Mother Board but it's working fine. Windows XP installs without any problem. I've replaced the hard disk in which the Win XP already exists(Win XP installed on another system with same configuration MSI K9MM-V Mobo, AMD Sempron Processor, 512MB RAM) But it hangs the system and when I restart the system it says,
"Windows Could Not start because the following file is missing or currupt:
\Windows\System32\Config\System
You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup CD-ROM. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair."
I've tried this some 10-15 times every now and then this problem is popping up.
So I think this is not the problem with Hard Disk. It must be the problem with Mother Board. So please help me resolve this issue.Good luck!

and what Bas wrote about listing your system components.
Have a minimised system when you install Windows.
A cloned copy of Windows can do this, for example one that a back-up program made. -

I have a MBP 15" Bought in late 2012. It is running 10.8.5.
I am trying to connect to the printer at my office, an HP CM4730 MFP.
When I go through the steps to add a new printer, I get to the message:
"Software for this printer is available from Apple. Would you like to download and install it?"
I click on 'Download and Install" and the systems startes to search for the software, however, every time i get the following message:
Setting up ‘HP Color LaserJet CM4730 MFP [15A0C9]…’
Can't install the software for the Hewlett-Packard HP Color LaserJet CM4730 MFP because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.
Can anyone out there point me in the right direction to get this installed.
