Forms 9i Debug

Hello,
I try to debug my Form remotly. The Application Server runs on an Unix machine and my Forms Builder on Windows XP. I entered the port and host information in the attach debug dialog. After run form I get the error message FRM-40010: Cannot read form C:\forms\sample.fmx. The path is part of the FORMS90_PATH.
Thanks
Chris

Christoph,
try putting the Forms90_Path into the default.env file in the forms90/server directory. This file is used on the Application Server.

    Hi Manoj,
You can do it directly from felix console. just go to http://<host>:<port>/system/console/slinglog there you will see all log files. under first table "Log Level" you will see all the log files and besides to that you will have configuration option, just go there and set log level for each of log files and save it.
Let me know if you need more information.
    Thanks,

    Kanish,
Lets start with a few of the basics, shall we. What JVM are you using (Jinit or Sun JRE and the version)? Based on the error you posted, I can infer that you are using Forms 10.1.2.0? Are you running a custom configuration in the formsweb.cfg and default.env? This could be the cause if you have modified the CLASSPATH setting in the default.env excluding core .jar files.
Typically, the FRM-92101 error is caused by a Java error; either a .jar is not found or invalid or not compatible with JVM, etc.
Have you tried clearing your Java Cache to check for a corrupt .jar?
    Hope this helps,

  • Launching from web a form in debug mode (?!)

    Hello,
I have Developer Suite 10g with WebUtil 1.6. I am playing with a form, which has an attached library from which use a function. This function doesn't function properly and I would like to debug it.
Problem: in Forms Developer, when I launch the form in DEBUG MODE, it launches my form using the webutil configuration section. The URL looks like this:
    http://localhost:8889/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil
I need to launch the form with another configuration section and at the same time in debug mode.
    How should I do this?
Thank you in advacne for the help.
    daniela

    forms-builder:
look at Edit-Preferences, go to the last tab (Runtime) and then look at "Application Server URL"
there you can change the used section of your forms builder configuration

  • Problem with webutil library in Forms 11g debug (FRM-93652)

    Hi.
I have a problem when debug a forms in OFM11g, that used.
the problem is that the forms, in debug mode, raise the error FRM-93652. Only in debug mode.
    I add tha jacob.jar and jacob.dll in the folder ORACLE_HOME/forms/java and Oracle_home/forms/webutil.
the classpath variable in default.env, has added the jacob.jar file, and in my FORMS_BUILDER_CLASSSPATH Registry variable.
    Can some one help me???.
Thanks and sorry for my english

I have the same issue with debug_messages in Forms 11g -- they will not appear. I can, however, run in debug mode and attach the session to Forms Builder 10.1.2.0.2. Thus, when I run in debug mode and check the the Command Line tab under Global/System Variables, DEBUG_MESSAGES is always set to NO regardless of how I set it on the command line. Still works fine in our 10gR2 instances.
    DB 11.1.0.7
    Forms 11.1.1.4
    WebLogic 10.3.4
    AIX 5.3 64-bit
    AIX Java 1.6.0 SR9 FP1
    Client: WinXP JRE 1.6.0_25
My real issue has to do with a FRM-40734 on EXIT_FORM after ENTER_QUERY or EXECUTE_QUERY have caused the KEY-EXEQRY trigger to erroneously fire -- especially when DO_KEY is involved -- but that's a different and much more problematic story.

To run on the localhost (your machine) you need to have the Forms runtime installed. If it's a one off (i.e. you don't intend to deploy to anyone else's machine) you can download Forms from Oracle on a developer licence (free).

  • No PL/SQL windown in Forms-10g Debug

Dear gurus...I used to use a PL/SQL window in 6i forms debug tool which displayed at the bottom of debugging module. It was very useful to look at the database values of current session but I'm unable to fine this PL/SQL interation tool in 10g Forms debug module. Is it away from my eyes only or really doesn't exist in 10g-Forms???

    Caz,
Two things. First; it is considered poor Forums Etiquette to hijack someone else's posting. Always create your own post and include a link to a related posting if your issue is similar to someone else's.
Second; now that you have the FORMS_TRACE_PATH defined, you create the trace file by adding the "RECORD=FORMS" parameter to the URL. Optionaly, you can add the "TRACEGROUP=DEBUG/CUSTOM1" parameter as well as long as you have specified the CUSTOM1 trace group in the ftrace.cfg file. Just adding the RECORD=FORMS should be enough, however.
If that still doesn't produce the results you are looking for, check out the following references: Oracle9i Forms Diagnostic Techniques and Oracle9iAS Forms Services Tracing and Diagnostics. I know these are for Forms 9i, but the process did not change between Forms 9i and Forms 10g. If you are using Forms 11g, I'm not sure if these technigues will work the same as I am not using Forms 11g yet. ;-)

  • To find where a variable is getting updated in a smart form thru debugging?

    Hi Friends,
    This is urgently required.
In transaction vf02 by putting the billing document no.and navigating as follows:
billing document -> issue output to ->select the doc->print preview
    a smart form is generated.
The issue that I am facing is that the from and to date is mssing for some of the documents nos.in the output of the smart form.
How do I debug the smart form and get to the place where the particular date variables are being picked.
Thanks a lot in advance !!

    hi,
Create a short cut as follows
      1) On the vf02, standard tool bar there is an 'shortcut generate' icon will be there, click on it. you will get the screen where under 'Application',  give the following details
    Type: system command
    command: /h
and click ok then there is a short cut created at your desktop
    2) drag and drop the shortcut before clicking on print preview then debugging will starts
then you can able to debug the smartform

  • Running a form in Debug Mode

    Hi,
Is it possible for us to debug a forms which is running in Oracle AS?
I guess is a remote question, but what is the purpose of having Attach Debug & Debug Control in the form builder?
    Please help me.
    Thanks
    Balaji

Attaching to a Form running outside the builder
The advantage of attaching the debugger to a Form that runs outside of the Builder is that the Form can be running on a different machine other than the one debugging it. The configuration gives an end user the opportunity to run the Form and encounter errors while the developer debugs interactively with the user.
To start debugging a Form that runs outside the Builder, the Form must be invoked with the parameter Debug=yes passed in the URL. This parameter will invoke a dialog that displays the host name and port number.
In the Forms Builder, open the FMB for the running Form, and select Debug | Attach Debug. You'll need to supply the host name and port number to start debugging the running Form.

  • Forms 6i debug and call_form

In Forms 6i, I have a form that calls another form using call_form. When debugging, I can set breakpoints in the calling form, but there seems to be no way to continue debugging into the called form.
Or is there...? Can you help...?

    Hi,
you can use the message level for tracing your call_form issue in order to know the business flow of your form how it works.
    such as:
    message(' ');
    fnd_message.debug(' ');
