FormsCentral Fillable PDF on iPad

If I create a fillable PDF and distribute it through FormsCentral, will people be able to fill out the PDF and submit on an iPad like they would on a computer?  We cannot use web based forms because most of our sales people that are in the field do not have data or internet service (the connectivity in those areas are horrible).  Therefore, I need them to be able to open the PDF on their iPad, fill it out, save it, and submit it when they are able to connect to a data or internet service.

If they have the latest version of the Adobe Reader mobile app on their ipad then they can fill out the form and submit to FormsCentral. Make sure they have the latest version - we just released this functionality.

  • Fillable pdf on iPad

I am unable to use a fillable pdf on my iPad

I emailed the pdf to myself.  When I downloaded the form it gave me the option to open the form in the adobe reader app so that is what I did.  Sounds like it is the java script issue.  I will check with the agency that developed the firm to see if they did it in java script unless you know of a way to check that.
Thanks for all you assistance!  Especially on a Sunday.

  • Why do some people get "you cannot save data typed into this form" using FormsCentral fillable PDF?

Hello.  We're using FormsCentral extensively.  We create the fillable PDF and send it to about 80 people.  Each of them is adding content and saving and then passing on to another person for further content.  Ultimately, all parties are happy with the content and submit.  The problem is that some of the people open the PDF and get the message ""you cannot save data typed into this form".  What is causing this?  Please help as it is causing us many problems.

Thanks for the quick response.  We distribute the form to 80 people who fill it out and create 80 versions.  They then pass the form to one other person who edits.  All 80 forms, once complete, are submitted to FormsCentral.
I think the problem is with Mac users.  Is there anything unusual about the Mac with Adobe Reader?  If you provide your email address, I can send you one of the filled out forms that is having this issue.  It's quite odd in that the fillable fields don't show up until clicked on and the form is not saveable.
    Thanks!

  • Any ideas on how we could get any sort of shop stamp or other identifying mark onto our fillable pdf on an ipad.

I am looking for any ideas on how we could get any sort of shop stamp or other identifying mark onto our fillable pdf on an ipad.
The scenario is that when we do a job as opposed to our regular contract work, at a large nationwide retailer, their accounts people want the shop's stamp, as proof of the work being done.
Currently the 'paper' service report is just stamped. For the regular contract work, whoever signs the service report just uses their finger to sign the report, on the iPad.
On a PC the shop could just set up an electronic signature as their 'shop stamp', but the iPad is another story.
I am having a vision of ink stamps all over the iPad screen. LoL
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Unlike the desktop version of Adobe Reader, Reader mobile products (for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) do not support stamp annotations yet.
If you'd like, you can submit the Feature Request form.  The Product Management team will take your request into consideration for a future release of Adobe Reader for iOS.
    Thank you for the feedback!

  • I would like to create a fillable pdf for my employees that are using the ipad

I need to have my employees turn in forms/reports on a daily basis so I would like to create these forms where they could enter the input but are not able to alter the form (Adobe calls this a "fillable pdf")on the ipad and then be able to email it to me. Any ideas on a good app

PDF Reader Pro Edition says that it can handle PDF forms and allows emailing of documents:
    http://itunes.apple.com/app/pdf-reader-pro-edition-for/id364502063?mt=8
I haven't tried it myself but it's gotten good ratings. You would create the forms on your computer using Adobe Acrobat Pro.

  • Has anyone found an app for creating fillable pdf forms on an ipad?

I have found many apps that allow me to fill in already created fillable pdf forms on an ipad, but I'm wondering if there are any apps that allow the creation of PDF forms on an ipad?  (similar to adobe professional...?).  Thanks for your time!

PDFpen pro can be used on the Mac to generate fillable forms.  It is much less expensive than Acrobat.
For IOS, I would check out
    PDF Expert by Readdle
    DocuSign Ink
I know the allow you to sign your name on PDF forms.
I would think they can extend that to fillable forms.

  • Random characters added in Excel export from Adobe Tracker (via fillable PDF from FormsCentral)

Exported fillable PDF from FormsCentral and distributed it via Adobe Pro X.  Received two responses and from the Tracker, we exported to Excel.  In the Excel columns, there are seemingly random characters and the word "edit" which are not in our question.  For example, "_10_8_House_rep_edit;_6S7OYQDcL9nQcNR6j761WQ
    Thanks!

    1. To edit the PDF follow these steps : http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3661
    2. The fillers don't need to have a subscription (paid or free) to fill up the form. They can fill out the PDF and save it to their machine and then submit. Only the author of the form needs to have a paid FormsCentral subscription to collect data via PDF forms.

  • Can I create calculated fields using formscentral on a locally created, fillable PDF form?  If so, how?

I am using Acrobat XI Pro to build a fillable PDF form that can be used by customer who have Adobe Reader installed.  I would like to create calculated fields, including the summation of two or more currency fields and the product of a currency and number field.  The procedure for creating these escapes me.  Does anyone have any insight?

    Hi Gilad,
thankyou! - yes it seems though I was using the text tool when I had this problem: When I had created a few fields in the 'form edit' mode I then may later have added some normal 'comment' fields of text in the normal mode to highlight certain aspects on a form - I used the text tool thinking that was the right way in to add or edit text - I can now see I double click with the hand tool to still be able to access any text field I want to. Yay!
Many thanks for your kind assistance - I shall try this method later on a new form I was trying to create and which was giving me grief.
One last thing then: what is that default text field that can't be deleted actually for - why is it there? After all, a 'blank pdf' should surely be a truly blank pdf? Perhaps this is one for mighty Adobe....?
    Kind Regards,
    Pete

  • Using a fillable PDF with a FormsCentral Link collection.

I want to inport a fillable PDF and then use the Forms Central link distribution to collect responses vs sending out the fillable PDF with a submit button. How do I do that ?

    Good day,
Our CreatePDF service does not allow you to create fillable PDF files. You can find an overview of CreatePDF's features here: https://www.acrobat.com/createpdf/en/features.html
For this capability, you need Adobe Acrobat.
There is no upgrade path from CreatePDF to Adobe Acrobat available.
    Kind regards,
    David

  • Form with fillable fields on iPad

I have a form created in Adobe Acrobat pro with fillable fields. When I save it to my iPad, the fields are no longer fillable. How can I make the fields fillable on the iPad? Thanks!

    Hi Nick,
You can use Adobe Fill & Sign DC for the purpose.
Adobe Fill & Sign DC is a free mobile app that can be used all by itself, or with Acrobat DC. While Acrobat lets you work with fillable PDF forms and draw a signature with your finger, Fill & Sign gives you an easy way to work with paper forms or PDFs that haven’t been optimized for form filling. With Fill & Sign on an iPad or Android tablet device, you can:
Open a PDF file, take a photo, or pick an image from your mobile device
Type answers right onto the form, or accept auto-fill suggestions
Sign your form by typing or drawing your signature, or using an image
Edit your personal auto-fill collection so you don’t have to retype frequently-used information each time you complete a new form.
If you want to edit the pdf form then you need to purchase the subscription to Adobe Acrobat DC.
For more information please refer the FAQ: FAQ | Acrobat DC mobile app
Adobe FormsCentral has reached end of life and is no longer supported.
Installation of Acrobat DC on the PC removes the older version of Acrobat and FormsCentral.
    Regards,
    Rave

  • NEW! Import Fillable PDF Form and Collect Responses

FormsCentral now allows you to import an existing fillable PDF form and use the FormsCentral service to collect and analyze the submitted data. You no longer have to recreate your existing PDF forms within the service in order to take advantage of FormsCentral’s data collection/analysis capabilities.
You can also use popular tools like Adobe Acrobat X Pro or Adobe InDesign to create PDF forms that work with FormsCentral.
To import a PDF form go to the “My Forms” tab, click the More button on the toolbar and select “Import PDF Form.” Note: FormsCentral does not support PDF forms created using the LiveCycle Designer (XML-based forms).
Once imported the normal Design tab is replaced with an “Imported Form” tab that allows you to place a Submit button on the PDF form. You can place it on the top left or right of the first page, or place it on the bottom left or right of the last page. A thumbnail shows where the button will appear.
The Options tab shows options that are available for PDF forms (Note: PDF Forms do not support Redirect URLs or Payments so these are not shown)
The Distribute tab allows you to open the form and download the submit-enabled PDF file for distribution. The PDF file can be filled out, saved and submitted using the free Adobe Reader.
The Response and Summary Report tabs will show the data submitted from the PDF form. They function as they do for a normal form file that you created from scratch or template.
This FAQ describes what types of PDF forms can/cannot be imported and what functionality is limited within the PDF once imported:

I followed this process to import my PDF form.  The link I have on my web page is displaying an error from FormsCentral.  The link works but the web page is confusing to customers.  The message is:
    An error has occurred.
The form does not exist. Please re-enter the web address as the link may be misspelled.
When I saved the submission-enabled PDF, I could only save it to my computer.  I then had to upload it to the web site server and created a link on my web page to point to that URL.
How can I get rid of the Adobe FormsCentral message on the web page?

  • No options under the distribute tab to copy url link or embed a fillable PDF form

I Have a paid basic account is not giving me the option to under the  distribute tab to copy url link or embed a fillable PDF form? Simply put it doesn't show up for an option. I want to embed the form into my website but the embed feature is not showing up? Please help I have been at this all day.

Based on your answer above, it sounds like you uploaded the file to your website, as opposed to the function being available from formscentral.
If you have downloaded the file from Acrobat Pro then uploaded it to a website and had the upload pinned to a download button, then that is going to be a function of your website. Your workaround has nothing to do with formscentral itself.
You essentially uploaded the file to your website, then made it a downloadable file. The reason it is opening in your browser is because you have the Adobe Reader/Acrobat plug-in for your browser. It's not actually "embedded". If you uninstalled all of your adobe plug-ins, then it would open Reader or Acrobat, not in the browser. The reason it only opens in Safari is likely due to the fact that you only have the Adobe Reader/Acrobat plug-in enabled for Safari, and it is disabled for the other browsers.
    I hope this makes sense!

  • Creating a Fillable PDF form with adobe pro XI

    Hi,
I am creating a fillalbe PDF form using Form central with Adobe Pro XI and I am using the new "add help text" feature in it, but when i save the form as PDF the add help text disaapars. I am also unalbe to find a form reset button to add to my form. How can I create a from with these features. The form I want to make it fillable PDf to emailed to customers.
    thanks.

    Hi;
Re: Help Icon - The PDF does not display the "?" like the web form.  In the PDF when you mouse over the field and hover for 1-2 seconds the help text is shown in a tooltip.
Re: Form Reset button (Clear Form) - FormsCentral does not provide a clear form button but you can add it in Acrobat.  You will want to open the PDF in Acrobat and then follow these two tutorials:
In order to Edit the FormsCentral PDF in Acrobat you will need to read this FAQ: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3661
This tutorial shows you how to add the "Clear" button to the form: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/acrobat-x-tips-tricks/quick-tip-how-to-add-a-reset-button-to-a-f orm/
Are you planning save the form as a "Submission Enabled PDF" and collect responses using FormsCentral?  If you are not, and simply want the responses or PDF emailed back to you on submission you can see this tutorial: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/X/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7dd6.w .html

  • Saving to fillable pdf

I have created a form in forms central but cannot save to a fillable pdf. when i click on save as pdf form a very quick satus bar pops up and disappears   i cannot find where the file is saved

    Hi;
Are you using FormsCentral in a web browser or from the Desktop application that is included with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI?
If you are using a web browser please try another browser or refresh the browser page and see what happens.  In a web browser you should get a "Download" dialog with a save button that brings up a FIle Save As dialog allowing you to choose the name and location for the PDF...
If you are using the Desktop application with Acrobat, Acrobat creates the PDF so if you have a dialog open in Acrobat that would "block" any new actions so make sure you close any open dialogs in Acrobat and try it again.  Acrobat will create a PDF and then prompt you to save the file.
Let me know which you are using and how it goes.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Saving form as fillable pdf

actually have two questions, first can I save my form as a fillable pdf to email others and second how do I arrange my form to have more than one field on a single line?  For instance I am creating a credit application
and want to be able to say put the phone number field alongside the business name and so forth...thanks !!

We just added the ability to distribute your form as a fillable PDF form and have all of the data submitted back to FormsCentral. I wrote up a forum post that explains it in more detail: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/994199
Give it a try and please send us your feedback on it.
