Formula editor in CO-PA forms

I know writing Logical expressions like 'IF' condition in the formula of a Report Painter report (Tcode GRR1).  Tried to use the same kind of syntax to write a 'IF' condition in the formula editor of the CO-PA form.  But it is not accepting that kind of a syntax.  Does anyone know how to write 'IF'... 'THEN'.... 'ELSE' kind of a formula in a CO-PA form?

Thanks for your answer. Seemed to be a good idea, but the problem is that after defining value fields in lines, you can't define them in columns as well...
The only options now available in columns are "Characteristics", "Predefined element" and "Formula"... But for formulas, the system doesn't let me use line values.
I just want a pretty simple thing:
.............................|...Total Value...|...Unit Value
Quantity................|.......X..............|........1
Total Sales............|......Y..............|.......Y/X
Total Discounts.....|......Z...............|.......Z/X
Apparently, I can't get there...

    Hello Gurus,
I raised an SR with Oracle support and they have replied by saying that, In EPM 11.1.2.4, the IE11 is only supported for interactive reporting and we will have to use IE 10 & 9 for workspace.
Yes. It works fine in IE 10 & 9.

    Hi friends,
Thanks to all of you that you all have replied my question and given your answers.
Thanks to all of you specially Alpana Phapale, Wallie Chang, Poonam Thorat and Raghavendra Gadhamsetty, the answers given by you is the perfect one may be in different ways and only one can be used by me. But your answers were exactly correct.
Thanks to Asha Lund, your answers is also correct but the result as per my report should be in figures and not in words.
Whatever it may be but for repling thanks to you too.
Please be always with me, I am very new to Crystal Report and just learnt by my own as my Boss ordered me to do this and I have to make about 50 reports within 15 days. I think the day will start from today.
Well friends thanks a lot again for all your effort.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 Can not edit in the formula editor? Help?

I just used Crystal 2 weeks ago just fine. Now when I go into a report and then into the select expert then into the formula editor it will not let me edit my formulas. The cursor is there, but I can do anything. I tried to find and replace, but I get the text is read-only. How the heck do I fix this? It's pretty urgent.
Edited by: Ludek Uher on Jan 6, 2012 8:58 AM

    Hi,
The only time I've seen formula grayed out is when I go into a conditional formatting formula and try to edit other formula fields on the Report.
What formulas are you trying to edit? The best place to edit a formula is from the 'Formula Workshop'.
Report > Formula Workshop; you can edit any formula from here.
    Hope this helps!

  • System change in BW for enabling Formula editor

I have a basis related question in BW.
While trying to add the process type 'Decision between Multiple Alternatives' to my process chain in quality and production systems, I get a 'system not modifiable message' when I try to create a formula in the subsequent screen . I know this is because the systems are disabled against any customising and repository changes. Which setting(s) do I change to get this to work ?
I tried changing SCC4 to allow repository changes and some settings in tcode RSWBO004 'System change option' but they had no effect. Any ideas as to what namespace setting I need to enable to allow the formula editor screen to be displayed ?
I work in BW and was trying my hands at SCC4/system change etc hence am asking it in this forum. This is more of a BW relevant question rather than a generic basis question.

    Hi Daya,
The object changeability option does not seem to help in this case. The formula builder or process type 'Decision between Multiple Alternatives' is not to be seen. FYI, the technical name for the formula builder is 'RSFO'. So there might be some setting around this.
    Thanks..

  • Including the ad-hoc Formula Editor within a tabstrip on a BI7 web template

I'm trying to get the ad-hoc formula editor (available on BEx Web from the axis context menu -> caluclations and translations -> local formulas) included in a tabstrip web item. Is there any way to do this? Alternatively I could create a button that calls the appropriate command to bring up the formula editor (from examining the source it appears to be BI_COMMAND-BI_COMMAND_TYPE=UPDATE&BI_COMMAND-TARGET_DIALOG_REF=FORMULA_EDITOR), but there doesn't seem to be a way to include a custom command in a button.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hello
I have had the same issue, it seems using the role menu makes the system ignore any other objects on the page, as suggested by this link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c6/1c7a3b688d3c1de10000000a11402f/content.htm
You can get around the problem either by displaying the role menu in an iFrame, or by using a normal frameset and putting it in its own frame.
    Good luck

  • 7.2 ICM Script - Need to Grep for data within Formula Editor

We  have a massive SET_SKILL script.  I'm the FNG and have been
tasked with grepping every IF node in this script and using the formula editor
to determine the 4 digit Route Code and where that Route Code is being routed.
The current engineering team has built an Excel macro that involves cutting and pasting the body of text
from formula editor into the Excel macro and repeating that process over and over and over!
There are literally hundreds of IF nodes in this script and I am hoping that someone has run into a similar
need before.  I've tried exporting the script but can't figure a way to read and grep the proprietary format for the 4 digit code and
the next node it is being routed to.
    See attached screenshots.
    TIA,
    Amir

"Find" can certainly work for you.
If I were building that script, rather than have a huge set of IF nodes like that, it's much easier to do this with a CLID node with the "expression" set. This node is often used to analyze area codes of ANIs and route accordingly, but it has a lot of flexibility.
You will get a nicer style of branching and you can set up all the patterns and in Excel and copy and paste them right in there.
This is a CVP script where I am looking at Caller Input coming back from Audium to decide on what to do with the menu item selected.

  • Missing Field Tree in Formula Editor

    Post Author: dbennett
    CA Forum: General
My field tree has dissapeared in teh formula editor.
It is not minimized but actually gone.
This happened once before and I found a fix that involved the registry but I cannot locate now.
Does anyone know where to locate this information?
    Thanks

Between the two replies above, I think I figured it out.
I couldn't do "Allow Docking" because every time I selected Allow Docking... nothing happened.  It didn't not put a check next to "Allow Docking" and it most definitely would not allow me to dock.
I have Crystal XI so the registry keys noted in the article weren't exactly right.  So... I did something that was perhaps a little risky.  I changed several of the toolbar docking style settings to "f000".
This didn't just automatically put them back on the tool bar.  After doing that, it allowed me to "Allow Docking" and follow the first repliers instructions.
Not sure why Allow Docking isn't turned on by default.  Thanks you both for your help.

  • Date Manipulation in the PLD Formula Editor

    Hello Everyone
We are busy trying to use the formula editor in PLD 2007 to display the difference ( in days) between the current date and the past posting date. Has anyone examples of how to achieve this?
    For Instance
    System Date is 2008/07/26
    Posting Date is 2008/07/01
    Difference is 25 days
    regards

    Hi Richard,
There is no function in PLD to do this. You have to create lots of fields and use formulas. Example:
    Assume F_201 has date 1 = 2008/07/26
    Assume F_202 has date 2 = 2008/07/01
    F_220 = Year(F_202) - Year(F_201)
    F_221 = Month(F_202) - Month(F_201)
    F_222 = Day(F_202) - Day(F_201)
    F_301 = X * F_220  , were X is the number of days in a year;
    F_302 = Y * F_221 , were Y is the number of days in a month
    F_401 = F_301 + F_302 + F_222
This doesn't give you an accurate day difference. For that, you need lots more fields, indicating the number of days in each month, calculate the exact difference of day from one month to the other, etc.
Or you can catch the PrintPreview and Print events and update a value in the PDL report.
Use the ReportLayoutItem Object (read more about this in the SDK help file)

  • Forte form editor wont work, missing *.form file

    Hi,
I have a .java GUI file (subclass of a subclass of JDialog) that was generated with Forte, but the .form file that the form editor needs wasnt checked into CVS. So now I cant open the form editor in Forte (sun one). Is there a way to auto generate a new one based on the *.java code?
    Thanks,
    Chris
ps. I know this isnt a forte board, I coudlnt find the forte board.
pps. Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched for the answer and couldnt find one...
ppps. I tried a blank file, and I tried a minimal XML document, neither worked (the *.form file is XML).

    Thanks for the suggestion!
I searched their list, and found this post:
Essentially it is currently impossible, and the GUI must be recreated. dote!
    http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=87985&listName=nbusers
    Richard,
currently it is not possible to generate .form file from java code - because
form editor is not "two-way" (that is why .form XML files are used to store
GUI information). However two-way editing is planned for the future - see
    our proposal:
    http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbusers/msg03322.html.
There was also a related discussion some time before (about "reverse
    endineering"):
    http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbusers/msg01590.html.
As for converting forms from old NetBeans X2: direct serialization was used
for saving forms sooner, which is not suitable for longer persistence -
because e.g. serialized Swing components might not be compatible between JDK
versions. (That's why we moved to more general XML storing time ago.) So -
to import older forms you should use at least the same JDK version you used
with old X2. I would also recommend you to import it using Forte 2.0, which
could be more "polite" to old form formats (is a bit older than NetBeans
3.1). Once you save form to XML .form file, you can use it in newest JDK and
    NetBeans.
    Hope this somehow helps,
    Tomas Pavek

The Insert Function menu item is designed to enter functions used in table's formulas.
