Missing Field Tree in Formula Editor

My field tree has dissapeared in teh formula editor.
It is not minimized but actually gone.
This happened once before and I found a fix that involved the registry but I cannot locate now.
Does anyone know where to locate this information?

Between the two replies above, I think I figured it out.
I couldn't do "Allow Docking" because every time I selected Allow Docking... nothing happened. It didn't not put a check next to "Allow Docking" and it most definitely would not allow me to dock.
I have Crystal XI so the registry keys noted in the article weren't exactly right. So... I did something that was perhaps a little risky. I changed several of the toolbar docking style settings to "f000".
This didn't just automatically put them back on the tool bar. After doing that, it allowed me to "Allow Docking" and follow the first repliers instructions.
Not sure why Allow Docking isn't turned on by default. Thanks you both for your help.

How to FORMAT a number field in Formula editor

I have a "QUANTITY" field in database which has to get displayed in the report as " QTY : " that will look like QTY : 54.
Where as now it coming as QTY : 54.00
So, how to format this field in the Formula Editor while concatenation of
"QTY : " + CStr()

Please be always with me, I am very new to Crystal Report and just learnt by my own as my Boss ordered me to do this and I have to make about 50 reports within 15 days. I think the day will start from today.

Workshop tree and Field tree have become undocked

Hi All ,
I have 11.5 and have somehow undocked my Workshop tree
and Field tree in the Formula Editor. Now all my reports are that way !
Is there a reset button or something ?
I couldn't find anything in the Crystal environment
for something as simple as redocking a window.
Help

Hi Jimmy,
There is a registry key that can reset the toolbars and dock them back.
Before you edit the registry, please back it up and make sure u2018Allow Dockingu2019 is selected for the particular tree that is not docked. Just right-click the blank area of the floating tree and check if u2018Allow Dockingu2019 is selected.
Go to start > run > regedit.
Browse through HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Business Objects > Suite 11.5 > Crystal Reports > Formula Workshop.
Under this, the keys ToolBar-Bar1 to ToolBar-Bar3 are for each of the three trees. Depending on which one of them is undocked, click on the correct ToolBar-Bar1/2/3 keys. If you click on one of these keys, there should be a value on the right called u2018WindowNameu2019; this will show what tree the current key belongs to.
Once you select the right ToolBar key, on the right side look for u2018DockingStyleu2019 and set it to u2018f000u2019. Also look for u2018MRUFloatStyleu2019 and set it to u20180u2019.
Restart CR and open the Formula Workshop, the tree would still be undocked. To Dock it, just double-click the tree.

Field Tree Dialog box - Detached

Here's my problem, I accidently clicked and dragged the field tree dialog box in the editor and detached it from the main editor dialog box and now it just kind of floats out there. I work with two monitors and now when I open the editor, I get the editor dialog box on one screen and my field tree dialog box on the other. I know that I have done this before and never found a solution. Luckily we had an upgrade to Crystal and the reinstall fixed my problem. But alas, I have done it again. Does anyone know if there is anyway besides a reinstall to fix this problem?

Thanks for your fast response. When I right click on the top bar where it says Field Tree I get this menu: Restore, Move, Minimize, Maximize and Hide. If I right click on the bottom bar of the Field Tree or in the dialog box, I get the options to Allow Docking, Hide, Find in Formulas. So I click on u2018Allow Dockingu2019 - nothing happens. Then I double click on the dialog box and nothing happens either. I can still move the Field Tree box anywhere, but can't seem to dock it. It seems like the u2018Allow Dockingu2019 option is for an item in the Field Tree and not really for the box itself.
Can you tell what I am doing wrong?

Crystal Reports 2008 Can not edit in the formula editor? Help?

I just used Crystal 2 weeks ago just fine. Now when I go into a report and then into the select expert then into the formula editor it will not let me edit my formulas. The cursor is there, but I can do anything. I tried to find and replace, but I get the text is read-only. How the heck do I fix this? It's pretty urgent.

Hi,
The only time I've seen formula grayed out is when I go into a conditional formatting formula and try to edit other formula fields on the Report.
What formulas are you trying to edit? The best place to edit a formula is from the 'Formula Workshop'.
Report > Formula Workshop; you can edit any formula from here.

Can we edit the System Report queries to add some missing fields ?

I'm using SAP Business One 2005 A and I was wondering if there was a way to edit the system report queries. Sometime, I'm only missing calculated fields in the existing report. Something as easy as the difference between 2 dates is not working with the formula fields.
Instead of rewriting everything, could we simply see that original query and edit it to add the missing fields ?
I don't like the fact I can't add my own created report from a query in the main menu. Since I couldn't do anything with the Backorder reports by default, I created mine with my own SQL query. Can't I replace the existing one with my own ?

Hi Daniel,
You can edit a system query but then you can only save it as a user query (ie you cannot overwrite the system queries).
User queries can't be placed in the Main Menu using the standard GUI though you could add them to the User Menu tab so your users can get to them easily. I think to add them to the Main Menu would require the development of an add-on that updated the Main Menu and triggered the running of the query when the user clicked on the menu option.
The other thing to look at is using XL Reporter for your reports rather than the Query Generator. With XL Reporter you can automatically add reports to the main menu.

Formula editor in CO-PA forms

I know writing Logical expressions like 'IF' condition in the formula of a Report Painter report (Tcode GRR1). Tried to use the same kind of syntax to write a 'IF' condition in the formula editor of the CO-PA form. But it is not accepting that kind of a syntax. Does anyone know how to write 'IF'... 'THEN'.... 'ELSE' kind of a formula in a CO-PA form?

Thanks for your answer. Seemed to be a good idea, but the problem is that after defining value fields in lines, you can't define them in columns as well...
The only options now available in columns are "Characteristics", "Predefined element" and "Formula"... But for formulas, the system doesn't let me use line values.
I just want a pretty simple thing:

Apparently, I can't get there...

Date Manipulation in the PLD Formula Editor

Hello Everyone
We are busy trying to use the formula editor in PLD 2007 to display the difference ( in days) between the current date and the past posting date. Has anyone examples of how to achieve this?
For Instance
System Date is 2008/07/26
Posting Date is 2008/07/01
Difference is 25 days

Hi Richard,
There is no function in PLD to do this. You have to create lots of fields and use formulas. Example:
Assume F_201 has date 1 = 2008/07/26
Assume F_202 has date 2 = 2008/07/01
F_220 = Year(F_202) - Year(F_201)
F_221 = Month(F_202) - Month(F_201)
F_222 = Day(F_202) - Day(F_201)
F_301 = X * F_220 , were X is the number of days in a year;
F_302 = Y * F_221 , were Y is the number of days in a month
F_401 = F_301 + F_302 + F_222
This doesn't give you an accurate day difference. For that, you need lots more fields, indicating the number of days in each month, calculate the exact difference of day from one month to the other, etc.
Or you can catch the PrintPreview and Print events and update a value in the PDL report.
Use the ReportLayoutItem Object (read more about this in the SDK help file)

Missing fields in Purchasing View

Dear all,
We have got an issue like this.For our client we are using Workflow to
create a material.For this we made a process like this .
User1-Basic Data1&2
User2-Sales Views
User3 or User4-Purchasing Views.Both are having same roles in workflow.
User5- MRP1,2,3&4 Views
User6- Finance&Costing Views
When we create a material,we are getting an issue in Purchasing View.
In Purchasing View User 3 able to see all fields in Purchasing view.
If User 4 tried to fill the data for this Purchasing View some fields
are hidden,which we are not able to see.The missing fields are as
follows.
Purchasing Group,Plant-sp.matl status,Tax ind. f.
material,Qual.f.FreeGoodsDis,Autom.PO,but both user3 and user4 share
same roles in workflow.
After that we had given SAP_ALL to User4 and tried to create a material
using standard MM01,then also we are not able to see all fields in
Purchasing View.But User 3 is able to see those fields through MM01 too.I have attached a document,please go through it.
What would be the reason for this?Please suggest us possible
solution,as soon as possible.

Hi,
Option:1=>For user 3 and user 4 , problems in cretaion of material difference, Consult your Basis Consultant.
Option:2=>For hidden field,follow below steps( in user 3 , check and correct for user 4)
1. Just click the tab ,(Which is hidden for user 4, in user 3 )and get the field name
2.Go to T.Code: OMSR and enter that field name and get Selection Group in user
3.In USER 4,Go to T.code: OMS9 and select your material type and go to "overviews" .In the next screen, you can see your field selection Group, click that and you can make that field required entry for User4 and save.
Now try to create material in USER 4.

Issue with member formula editor in Planning 11.1.2.4

I just wanted to add a formula for a planning application member through workspace (v.11.1.2.4), but when I tried member -> edit -> member formula... it stays there by saying the 'Loading Member Formula Editor'.................. nothing happens after that.. same case with all the members.. I am using IE.11...
any tricks??

I raised an SR with Oracle support and they have replied by saying that, In EPM 11.1.2.4, the IE11 is only supported for interactive reporting and we will have to use IE 10 & 9 for workspace.

Missing fields in IDoc FIDCCP02

Hello Experts ,
I am using FIDCCP02 IDoc to create a customer invoice.My item level data contains a field XMWST (Calculate Tax) which i can not find anywhere in the IDoc.Even BSEG-ANFBN ,BSEG-ANFBU,BSEG-ANFBJ,BSEZ-EGMLD,BSEG-HZUON fields are not present in the IDoc.I am mapping the above fields using LSMW.Please let me know how to map the above also it would be helpful if these fields are named differently in the above IDoc.

Hello Shafiq,
Thanks for your comment. I think it's a good idea to deactivate option to send IDocs immediately and create an own job to trigger it regularly. It would be great if according user exits would be triggered also only when the IDoc job starts. Otherwise I would have to create a copy of RSNASTED and enhance it to fill according values. Depending on the outcome I'll reward your anwser. Nevertheless thank you very much until then.

Hi,
Any long text will consists of the TEXT_NAME, TEXT_ID, TEXT_OBJECT and the LANGUAGE.
To find out these details you basically have to open the text in the text editor by double clicking on it.
And then go to the Header details in the Menu.
Here you will find all the relevant information.
You pass these details to FM SAVE_TEXT to save this text to database and you make use of FM READ_TEXT to read these texts.
The texts are basically stored in STXH and STXL tables.
